    Upon us we find a great opportunity, and it brings great delight for me to inform you of decisions regarding the forward progress of the server and community. It has taken a great deal of time and discussion to reach this decision, but we now feel that it has been sufficiently planned - and, well…discussed. Following a unanimous vote amongst the AWE staff team, we are progressing with enacting these changes.
     
    In addition to the changes detailed in this post, more will soon be announced that will contribute to the direction we seek for AWE, moving forward. As such, keep your eyes turned towards the AWE section of the forum. We are excited to deliver the new direction - and we hope you are too!
     
    Monday 19th of June 2017.
     
    Put a reminder in your calendar, this is when the changes will take effect (ensuring there are no snags or hiccups during the process).
    The Steering Committee has reached the decision that the CUP, and all its dependencies will be removed from the modpack, and therefore the modset. The total list of removed mods, and their size, is:
    CUP Terrains Core 7.8 GB CUP Terrains Maps 2.1GB Project OPFOR 1.5 GB Abramia 0.213 GB Isla Duala 0.328 GB Lingor and Dingor 0.633 GB Fallujah 0.201 GB  
    The following mods will also be removed due to lack of development by authors, or bugs. This is pursuant to separate decisions by the Steering Committee, and are being enacted during this update.
    Burnes_AAV 0.057 GB Spec4gear 0.391 GB  
    This yields a reduction in repository size of 11.723 GB. 
     
    As a result, several new maps will be added; these are:
    JBAD Buildings 1.3 GB Lythium 1.0 GB Bornholm 1.5 GB Bozcaada 0.137 GB  
    This totals 3.937 GB in additions.
     
    Overall this gives us a 7.793 reduction in modpack and repository size. Reducing the size of the modpack is not our driving force in these changes, but rather a desire to offer a new, innovative and refreshing experience to the AhoyWorld Enhanced player-base.
      
    These will be the core modded maps for AWE moving forward. Other maps will be added; however, they have not been decided upon, yet. Anything that has JBAD as a dependency will be considered, alongside stand-alone maps. Fayshhkabur, ToraBora are good examples of maps we are looking to consider.
     
    The new playable maps will be:
    Altis Stratis Tanoa (Will not be in gauntlet rotation) Gorgona Lythium Bornholm Bozcaada Kerama Islands (possibly)  
    Other mods are also under consideration stemming from the request area of the forum. These have not yet been finalised and so have therefore not been included.

    I agree, as ACRE is required to play, the ACRE channel has a password so why doesn't the server have that same password. Like Parabolic suggests it will minimize the number of people who are in the server however haven't read through the rules to find said team-speak channel password! In my opinion that wouldn't harm the population on the server! Just reduce the people who haven't read through the rules

    Over the last while we have noticed a trend on the public servers of piloting getting steadily worse. One way pilots, constantly crashing pilots, pilots abandoning aircraft, pilots unable to land to list but a few of the issues.
     
    These rules changes will not affect competent pilots.
    Pilots are in charge of their aircraft they should make all efforts to keep the aircraft airworthy.
    If aircraft are damaged they need to be fixed, not destroyed. If this means getting a repair specialist to travel to fix the aircraft so be it.  
    Flying in a manner conducive to having you aircraft destroyed will result in discipline.
    These rules will be enforced and pilots will be expected to abide by them.
    The respawn time on Aircraft will be increased to encourage better flying.
     
    They will be coming into effect on 01.04.16
    Pilots seen to be breaking the rules will be asked to leave the pilots slot in which case they should return the aircraft to spawn and switch roles. If they refuse they will be kicked and if we see repeat offenders we will be forced to ban.
     
    Examples of Poor Piloting:
    Misuse of aircraft: CAS with the AA jet, practising, showboating and wasting resources. Landing too close, or flying over, the AO. It shows the pilot is not aware of the situation around him and if it results in the lost of aircraft or team mates will considered destroying assets or teamkilling. Abandoning aircraft in the field, this is all to prevalent and steps will be taken to weed out pilots who do this. Making no effort to repair damaged aircraft. Allowing your door gunners to teamkill. It's the pilot's responsibility to lock turrets. Teamkills will be attributed to the Pilots. Pilots should make a reasonable attempt to land if damaged. For example engine failure or tail rotor loss are not unrecoverable. If you don't know what autorotation is you simply should not be flying a helicopter. Not repairing aircraft in the field. If your aircraft is repairable then it must be repaired. While these are not technically new rules they will be enforced much more actively, and it is the pilots responsibility to make sure you are able to fly within the rules.

    Some people I know don't run ALiVE with their standard EU3 modest however this will be required in order for you to join the mission!

    Mission Length: ~2-3 Hours (JIP allowed)
    Mission: Hearts and Minds In Takistan

    Mission will be locked to first-person only with semi-restricted loadouts

    Summary:
    BLUFOR is maintaining patrols around Takistan to keep check on the insurgent forces as well as keep relations friendly with the civilians. Currently, relations are on edge; many civilians groups have started to actively retaliate with roadside bombs and full on assaults. As the civilians like us more, fewer will join the ranks of the insurgents.

    Tasking is to:
    1) Relieve tensions with civilians
    2) Obtain intel from civilians
    3) Use that intel to attack key insurgent positions.

    Insurgents have occupied many towns which may need clearing out. They also roam the surrounding deserts and small villages. Your ultimate goal is to ensure the area is safe for civilians by clearing those towns as well as destroying key enemy caches or HQs as information is obtained.

    See I found this scrip link here: http://www.igipl.net/en/arma3/igiload-script/igiload-overview and it works pretty well. It can be used for MP  and SP. Basically it's used for loading stuff into vehicles but actually show the crates, You can use it with a  Merlin,Zamak,Tempest,and HEMTT I know some may say why just though vehicles well the answer to that is I don't know. But what I do know is that this would be nice to have and maybe get people go logi and you can also do para-drop with the script. Also it would mean that you could just continue to the next Area Of Operation which means you could have a little campaign before having to RTB. This also means that the logi pilot wouldn't be just for med-evacuation. I was just planning on using if for a gamenight me and Pac are thinking about and it would be used to some convoy op missions on gauntlet because who doesn't like convoying on Altis or Chernarus. It would also add another aspect of gameplay to EU3.

    Hi folks,
     
    With an influx of new players, we're going to have another training night.  Same mode as before: basic training for new players, and advanced training for players who have been out in the field a few times.
     
    Basic training looks like this:
    Introduction - what it means to play on EU3 - how it's different from EU1 / other servers - what we expect from players.  Ie., the obligatory boring but happily short talky-talk part Radios - how to use ACRE - how to communicate well & efficiently - understanding how & why the radios work. Working as a team - formations, movement, cover, battle buddies, chain of command. ACE medical - how to treat your own injuries - how to help a medic (or other team members) treat another team members' injuries effectively. Advanced training topics this week will be ADVANCED ACE MEDICAL and LONG-RANGE MARKSMANSHIP.
     
    Volunteers interested in leading basic training and advanced topics are appreciated - just message me in this thread, through steam, or through a forum message.
     
    No signups necessary, but posting your intent to participate below is welcome.
     
    Training will be on Shapur Training - which is >< almost working properly.
     
    Following training at 21:00 will be Gauntlet standard, with the map chosen based on the composition of the platoon.

    Ahoy there EU#3 Players,
     
    We have received your feedback about being more open and are committed to an open dialog with our players. In line with this mentality, we have some news to share about the MODs used on EU3.
     
    The MOD set will be changing in the near future. For a variety of reasons these changes are already decided: our changes are in line with recent Arma updates, and the future of the server.
     
    Why are we doing all these changes you may ask? There are multiple reasons. As you may know, recent Arma updates broke the TRYK Uniforms. Stuffedsheep and Glitch combined several uniforms sets into our own AW uniform set. RHS is being replaced with the CUP pack for accessibility, compatibility and EU#3 future mission related reasons. Since CUP contains every weapon in the HLC MOD set, we can get rid of those too. The same reasoning is maintained for RH pistol. The net effect of these changes will save you about 1 GB in disk space.
     
    So a lot of the mods are getting removed, but content-wise everything will remain practically the same. CUP may not look as pretty as RHS, but in the future it will. Our goal is to keep transitions like this rare, and from now on, to give you notice that these changes will be happening.
     
    Also, we will be adding the new MODs first, and then a few weeks later, take out the ones scheduled for removal. This will help people through the transition in terms of creating new loadouts, and also help the Development team to ensure the missions work in the process.

    Well Hello all EU3 Players, one late nigth i was thinking of something, something about IEDs and Mines on the EU3 Dessert Maps or the orther maps. I say this becuse i fell like that its what we need on the servers, when we do convoys or we are walking to an AO. there could be more then just EI on the sides of the road. so why not plant some IEDs so we could get a bit more MILSIM into the server, and the EOD/Engineers have more to do. and it could also bring in some more action to the server. try to imagine u driving or walking along a road when suddenly the vehicle or the man infront of u Blows up and u start taking fire from all dictions. that could be awesome.
    So yeah i hope that the admins would replay and/or look into it.

    Brief: A helicopter has been shot down inside of Fallujah. We need to get in there and secure the crash zone and rescue any survivors and recover any bodies from the wreckage.

    Sahrani campaign storyline:
    Sahrani has been in chaos by the recent Civil War. The goverment has been overthrown and videos have shown up of executions of high-ranked Politcal members of the NATO friendly sided goverment As the island group is a part of the NATO Force they will now be supported by them with any means necesarry. Hoewever, before the main force arrives a small QRF of American soldiers whom where posted nearby have been ordered to migrate to the North-East airfield on the island of Antigua.
     
    GAMENIGHT 9/1/16 RECAP
     
    After one of the most bloody engagements of the Sahrani conflict in BAGANGO, where US Marines defended the town against most of the rebel forces, NATO has now turned into attacking mode with more of NATO`s designated forces arriving. Because of earlier captured positions such as the northern hills and the castle NATO now has full control of the Upper northen part of Sahrani, however insurgent activity is expected.
     
     
    OPORD:
     
    SITUATION
    The Joint Intelligence Committee assess that the threat of hostile military action in vicinity EVERON is now SEVERE, meaning an attack could occur at any time in the next two weeks and may do so without further warning signs.

    All NATO forces in the SAHRANI vicinity have been ordered to NATO ALERT STATE ORANGE.

    MISSION
    US NATO forces will conduct recon around O.P IXEL to clear rebel enemy reconnaissance camps that would prevent the ''act-of-surprise'' on initial assault of the rebels entrenched position near EVERON.
     
    FRIENDLY FORCES in the meantime can aquire boats in order to sucessfully assault BARRACKS via sea in cohesion with friendly forces conducting the recon.
    SUPPORT & SERVICES
    a) CASEVAC will be via Medical choppers in vicinity of EVERON
    b ) Munitions, support weapons and OTHER will be by CROSSROADS and Vortex
    c) Ground & Aerial support includes aerial recon by UAV Operator attached to CMD, aswell as 1x Bradley controlled by Hammer, Talon, MMG & MAT.

    After much ado, version 0.22 of my Insurgency mission is almost ready to roll out - I am planning to have it ready for this coming Friday, and need a bunch of people to stress test it!
     
    This mission is based on Project Reality's "Insurgency" game mode, but a lot more detailed.  In a nutshell: the city of Fallujah is overrun by insurgent forces, and your MARSOC team has a mission to take out several weapons caches hidden in the city.  You don't know where they are exactly, but you have a vague idea, and gathering intel will help you narrow down their exact location.  You have two hours to accomplish your objective.

The goverment has been overthrown and videos have shown up of executions of high-ranked Politcal members of the NATO friendly sided goverment As the island group is a part of the NATO Force they will now be supported by them with any means necesarry. Hoewever, before the main force arrives a small QRF of American soldiers whom where posted nearby have been ordered to migrate to the North-East airfield on the island of Antigua. 
     
    It is our job to react to any threats on the main-land as CROSSROADS sees fit.

    Load outs: Pre- set.
    Join in Progress: Allowed, controlled matter.
    Units will be deployed to the AO in waves, subject to commands approval.
