    That was suprisingly smooth. I was worried that sending Bravo alone searching for MANPADS - unable to be assisted until they found them - could end badly, but Johnson held it together, at least until they ran into that Katusha-Technical from hell.
     
    Alpha also did excellent, coordinating with Vortex for very effective assault on the eastern command post and later utilizing the same Katusha for pummeling enemy FOB.
    Moving Alpha west by Air, to quickly re-deploy against FOB was risky, but luckily worked. We skipped guerillas in the forest, that Janxol no doubt lovingly placed to ambush us.
     
    Vortex juggled CAS/reinserts well. I guess you owe The Hind an apology Xwatt, it kicked ass.
     
    PS: I didn't realized until the mission was on the way, how small the AO actually is, so initial LZ was danger close to enemy positions, which Vortex fortunately called out.
     
    PPS: @Geb I noticed you had some problems seeing bleeding wounds on Icze when we were saving him. Are you using Medical menu when looking on patients?
    It can be hard to see the wounds, if you use only the radial ACE interaction.

    As the title says, this guide will teach you the USMC Basic School standardized procedures for Close air Support and Indirect Fire Support.
    Note: No one expects you to know these things unless you are Platoon Command, RTO/FAC/JTAC/FO, a support element (Air/FSG) or are the leading SL in the field.
     
    Therefore the linked PDFs down below provide:

    I didn’t really have a problem with the coms until I died and the frequency reset, reinsert heli was at base and I started reprogramming and then got rushed because the pilot got impatient which I understand why. I had my own squads channel, command channel and deltas channel set up so I could easily switch between them when I heard bravo being called at the beginning of the op.
      Now on this op I was in charge of bravo and coordinating with delta, command and fac. Now doing this with a short range radio on a map that is what 5x5km which is within the radios transmission range made things simpler and helped with stamina as I wasn’t carrying the long range radio pack so having that would be cumbersome especially when it’s really not required because of the small map. So taking the extra time to set up the additional channels when you die and are at spawn awaiting reinsert helis to show up may kill the time.
      Now I have a lot of radio experience from my years in the fire dept and my job where I use it everyday helps knowing how and when to transmit. A rule of thumb I use is to think of what you want to say then think of how I can make it more clear and especially short to cut down on unneeded radio traffic (again this came with over a decade of using radios in a professional environment). A lot of radio traffic will affect the outcome of any op as you are painting a picture for the commander via radio transmissions.
      Now you can give him clear and short instructions like “move the paintbrush from the middle and go up” (clear and short) or “put your paintbrush in the middle of the canvas and move it up in a slow manner until you are just about at the top then stop” (yes it is clear, but long).
      You can either give him clear and short instructions allowing for other radio traffic that might be more important to come through or give him clear but long drawn out instructions that may get confusing and impedes other important radio traffic that needs to be sent to command.

    Yesterday we had a very successful beta test of our new AWE mode Liberation, I would like to thanks everyone that turned up for making the test so successful and to @Stanhope for carrying out many of the tweaks needed to get the mission running for us!
     
    With the encouraging performance of the server and continuing the work that i have been doing to get the new server upto date and running i am happy to announce that the server will be going live tonight with the new liberation mode. This will result in a short period of downtime tonight for me to copy a few files over and a small ammount of progress may be lost but the majority should still be intact!

    AWE, MSO and modded gamenights will now be run from the new server ip and that will conclude the server upgrades for now!

    I did some hacking on Wibbler's Helicopter Transport scenario to include helicopters from popular mods so you can get some flight time in non-vanilla helicopters.  I left the Ghosthawk and Hummingbird in from vanilla since those are staples of EU1 and added more choppahs.  Figured I might as well share with Ahoy and feel free to move this if I posted in the wrong spot.

    If there's a helicopter you really want to practice with and it's in one of those mods but not in the scenario, hit me up here or on Discord and I'll see what I can do.

    Note:
    The playable slots have changed since the last mission. There are now 4 squads of 6, 2 of which have a medic, 2 of which have an LMG team.
    The command team now has a dedicated FAC/JTAC, who will be responsible for all air traffic and will have authority to grant CAS within the ROE set by the ground commander.
    These two changes will help ease the burden of command and reduce the chatter on the command channel.
     
    The last major change is the addition of a "Phoenix" team which comprises of 2 combat life savers and their own dedicated pilot. Their job is combat medivac and treatment and they will be coordinated by the FAC.

    A field medic can and will use a stich kit to stabilise a patient and in our gamenights and AWE play we aim to have as many boots on the ground at a time as possible. As such we will never remove the option to stich from the medics. We have limited the PAK to medical facilities that provides enough reason to send someon back to base in the situation that they are badly wounded enough that the medic cant deal with them in field. 
     
     
    After discussion with the staff we are going to test out stitching in field but leave them single use to ensure that they are still balanced and the logistics still have implications if a medic is using them a lot

    If you need help, then just let me know and I'll make a nice looking map (and not just an ugly editor-screenshot with the UI overlaying the grid-numbers, etc.😀) like I am always doing for the MSO (like the ones in this post for example: https://forums.ahoyworld.net/topic/14389-campaign-six-altis/?do=findComment&comment=126899).
    Just send me like an approximate drawing of the AO (can just be an in-game drawn like or whatever) and tell me if you want anything marked out.🙂
     
    And same goes for the playing cards. Just tell me what face the guy should have and how important he is (i.e. what card you want him on) and I'll do the rest.

    So here is an Idea i remember from the arma 2 ACE server i used to play on alot. Im not entirely sure if it is a ACE2 feature, a additional mod or a script but on that server if you had a chemlight or a IR strobe on your person you could attach it to yourself to visibly mark yourself as a friendly to other players (was a PvE server).
     
    Ive got no Experience with Scripting in Arma but if that is possible it should help a bit with the teamkilling and it might even be relevant for I&A4. Then again i dont know if AI react to Chemlights/IR strobes or not.

    First of all, Hello.
     
    I have been tasked with a job that is within the aspect of community involvement, which involves you, and your ideas.
     
    For the longest time, the ideas box has been well renowned for being all about ideas that can be implemented into Invade and annex. This is still the case and will remain to be, as your ideas about I&A are more than welcome, we love to hear all of your ideas that can shape the future of I&A.
     
    The description of the ideas box is "We're always looking to improve. What can we do to make things better?" 
    This is what I want to highlight.
     
    The ideas box is not strictly confined to ideas for Invade and annex. The ideas box can be used for ideas that can help Ahoyworld become a better community and shape the future in which we are heading.  Ideas about I&A will still be welcome, but I hope that there may be an influx of ideas that are non I&A related.
     
    As always I look forward to seeing all of your ideas, they are always considered as the playerbase is what makes our community.

    After some research and testing, we feel the game mode antistasi itself is not viable to be left up persistently, as the actions of a single player can easily ruin the experience for all, and putting the rest of the people back to square one (intentionally killing the officer.) We feel it would be ideal for a weekly gamenight, as it would require heavy moderating for a successful mission.
     
    On the other hand, we have been looking into other similar types of missions, and we feel KP Liberation would be an ideal gamemode to run persistently. Currently, we are still testing the mission back end, and with it being open source, we can make changes to the mission and adapt it to our playerbase. 
     
    For the first two or so missions we may run them on a game night, so we can build up an FOB and introduce people who have not played the gamemode to the mechanics of Liberation. We will provide you with more information when we are ready for a public release.
