Snogers Kowalski reacted to Lindi in FENRIR
    Hello @EastonRodgers,

You have been banned at the end of May in 2020. The reason for your ban is stated as trolling in the form of questionable behavior toward fellow players and racism when you joined the server as FENRIR playing as part of unit [1488] sporting a Nazi swastika as the unit tag. Judging by the effort of creating a unit and using the unit tags including graphics I must conclude some effort was made specifically to display the Nazi symbology.

I'm sure I do not need to point out that this breaks several of the Ahoy World rules, but I will anyway.

I cannot spot any sign of remorse, indication of growth as a person since the ban or even a promise to play by the rules in the future which begs the question, why should you be unbanned?

    Mission Summary

This Sunday, we turn a regular bout of Liberation around to show off what we can do when we put our minds to it. Expect a solid experience with high emphasis on teamwork and structure, with an established Chain of Command.  These are the days when we push for harder objectives or complex operations in combined arms, or try things we normally would not.

Snogers Kowalski reacted to Ryko in Ahoyworld Leadership transition
    Ahoy all members,

We have some news for you! There will be a change within the leadership of ahoyworld. Effective today, I am stepping down as leader of Ahoyworld, and handing the reigns over to PiranhA. There are a variety of reasons for this transition, which I'll get into, but I will say that this has not been a snap decision: We have had many meetings with PiranhA over the past few weeks with an eye to leadership transition, as we on the Core Staff wanted to be sure the future of Ahoyworld would be guaranteed, with progress being made in the process.

I'll explain why Core Staff came to this decision of putting a fish in charge of the boat.

As a bit of background, the majority of the current members of Core Staff have been running Ahoyworld for a long time, and things in their real lives have been taking precedence over pushing Ahoyworld along to make it an interesting, exciting community to play games. We've kept the motor running and paid the bills, but there hasn't been a lot of time left over to make it a better place.

In short, some new blood is needed at the tiller. PiranhA has the confidence of Core Staff to keep a firm hand into new waters, as well as to keep the ship in the right direction (to maximize the amount of naval analogies). We trust him to handle the community like it is one of his kids, as we see Ahoyworld a child of our own. PiranhA has been a constant Ahoyworld supporter and has really stepped up over the years, going above and beyond his role as just an administrator in Ahoyworld: some of you may recall he assisted in hosting the Ahoyworld meetup in Holland in 2016.

We hope everybody will give PiranhA a warm welcome and help him to adjust to his new position. To ease him into the position, we are going to have a long transition period: while the people in the current Core Staff positions will eventually change, for now, everyone is staying on board in their respective capacity to ensure that PiranhA gets up to speed and is supported in the best manner possible. PiranhA has a lot of great ideas for the future direction of Ahoyworld: We have been talking through and thinking about within the Core Staff and see his plans as very ambitious, but achievable. For myself, I will still be very much firmly attached to Ahoyworld, but I will be spending more time on development of both the public and modded missions.

From a player's point of view - you probably won't notice any change to your gaming experience.

As a final word about this transition: We are well aware that over the past few days there has been alot of unrest within the community. It's important to note that this transition is coincidental with those recent events, these discussions about transition have been ongoing for several months.

Another change we want to highlight is the return of David (Muckduck) to Core Staff: we've needed another body to help out with communications, and as David has done this in the past, we're confident he'll be a great fit in this role.

    All the best,

Ryko and Core Staff (RazGriz33, Christiansen, S0zi0p4th, Mark T)

As @Lost Bullet I "blame" the FOB-idea for how things were. For example of course we were quick at the truck location in the second mission but well when you don´t have vehicles with you then you will in the end need more time to get vehicles to where you want them than it would take to just RTB before and directly drive with the vehicles you need to the task. Also it is nice if we get ammo-boxes at the FOB but if they don´t have 7.62 in them then every marksman has a big problem. Another small thing is that there were just the vanilla Ammo in the crates wich isn´t that great since the MK262 rounds for example are way better.

Also I totally agree with @Amentes: If people don´t want to RTB than just go out of base with land-vehicles and pack them full with all the ammo, etc you need. reinserts and Ammo can then be flown in or reinserts can drive in with another packed vehicle if one gets destroyed => momentum is kept up, no need to RTB but also not even a need to not directly get to the next mission (So even better then to "RTFOB").

So overall I think this FOB-thing doesn´t fits well into Gauntlet since Gauntlet is just not one big mission but instead a few short ones without connections to each other wich means that you don´t need this constant resupply available like we do at the MSO where it´s kind of a "must have". Also as stated above the momentum can be kept up otherways...and even better.

Encountered visual glitch today on Taki. Not sure if the incident could be isolated to that map, or if it does the same on others. Picture is below.

Rain is just specs of light (looks like fast-falling snow), mysterious black rectangles in the distance. Multiple players could see this.  Once you looked away from the rectangles, the rain went back to normal.

Server weather was foggy, don't know what percentage that was set to. None of the rectangles were ambient AI or part of the mission; for all I know, it could be buggy rock walls. We did not investigate.

    De-Brief 24/3-17
This event's task was to take the city of Al Tabqah and then clear towards the airfield where the suspected first SAM site was located. Following some relatively uneventful troop transport towards the town, both A and B hit heavy contact in the suburbs of the city. After a good 1.5 hours of battling enemies and clearing the town we had some disconnects and I lost zeus access and couldn't supply the forces with lost gear after a RS.

After 10minutes of reorg, A and B set out to clear a compound marked by intelligence as a occupied facility, but upon entering was found to be clear. Then I gave order to move to a small town outside the airfield to prepare for the final push.

When we hit the town we had light contact from one of the flanks and A\B setup a quick 360 and ordered Logi to move into town,as they where trailing the main forces to keep out of combat.

    Then...

Armor contact was called on the comms and .5 seconds after 60-70% of the main infantry force was decimated by flak fire of a Shilka that crested the hill from the airfield.

The reinsert of said forces didn't either go to plan as the person who just took the chopper instead of getting Logi to fly(they have sole possession of said asset) flew to high and found out why the flight ceiling was below 30 m.

As all forces where scattered and no proper chain of comms could be established to remaining forces in the field, i took a executive desicion and placed a task for all remaining forces to gather in a small compound about 900m S of the town where i flew the chinook in and extracted the forces back to the FOB.

Endex was called and the remaining online SL's and me had a small chat about the events.

    De-Brief END

So this was a more chaotic session then I would have liked to have, with comms issues and general impatience. This has been discussed with the involved parties and a consenus has been made that we could do better.
I for one love these sessions from a command POV and hope that people generally like them even tho its different in play style and general setup compared to AWE with almost no HUD and first-person only.

I for one will bring fresh excitement and commitment for the next session and hopefully we will have a more painless play-thru next session without the server kicking the bucket and me loosing zeus to alleviate any gear problems that may occur in arma's sometimes unfairness.

    See you next session
    - Kenny
