It's a nice idea but I struggle to see what purpose it would actually have. The only outcome would be that pilots without the "mark" will be at a constant disadvantage, which I don't think is very fair.
There are already basic rules that you must be (somewhat) competent at flying to be a pilot. Whilst that bar isn't exactly very high, I think it's good enough for EU1/2.

    I also agree with this.

I think that regarding the air rewards, the light attack helis should become the most common air reward, as they aren't OP and they can also still transport infantry.
The BF and Kajman should be made MUCH rarer, if not completely removed.
The A-10 should be replaced by the (weaker) Buzzard CAS, and possibly be made a bit more common (the A-10 is very rare).

Unless we can get NATO skins for CSAT vehicles, it's a bad idea to have the Ifrit as a reward, also since we have Hunters (and should get Striders) there's no need.

Some of my other ideas from my (old) rewards topic:

    "Taru Medical:
I know this is already a reward vehicle, but I see it VERY rarely, so I think this chance of this spawning should be increased a lot as it's a very useful helicopter.

    Offroad variants:
I don't quite know what is possible here, but we already have the mortar truck, so I was thinking it might be possible to add similar vehicles but with different weapons. For example, a titan AT/AA launcher or a 20mm cannon."
To scar: I'll get you back!

I can't say I'd have much use for this as when I go in for a rearm it's because I'm out of ammo, so I have no reason to break off early.
It would be nice if the rearm time would be related to how much ammo/fuel/repairs you need, as that would minimise the problem of accidentally rearming a 2nd time.
No doubt some pilots don't plan their rearms (that's if they stay alive long enough). Even the best pilot is helpless if the RT is the last thing to be done in an AO, leaving you no choice but to risk a rearm whilst there is enemy CAS spawning in.

FOB missions are very good but there is only one small popup that you can see 5sec if there is a mission spawning.
If i join the server and he is up for a longer time no one can say wich truck is the correct one.
So thats the 2nd Problem on this mission the old trucks do not despawn after a new one spawns...

It will the best to fix the 2nd problem so no other notifcation is needed

So players get a small squad and make FOB missions after its accomplished it will spawn a lot of gear there ....
Example: Repairtruck mission = bobcat offroad repair some mortar stuff on the FOB close to the AO

Thx for your Attention, Koyote over and out

Edit: back to the server after 1hour and someone lost one fob mission the FOB spawns only with 2 hunters also if there on finish the next AO is the same AO

Can't really complain about improvements even if they're small, especially considering it's a pretty good looking game to begin with.
I'll have to see the changes for myself in-game before I can really decide how much I like it, I find it really hard to judge it from a few screenshots.
I think the most impressive change here is what they've done with the water, it looks incredible.

Hello, so I thought I would weigh in with my opinions on the idea of the stepping stone sever. This basically being from my understanding eu1/eu2 with acre and ace, running the Invade and Annex mission file. Through having these two modules implemented, arguably the most noticeable changes from the non-moded severs to moded severs. I believe this would be a great idea, as it offers the players who play daily on eu1 and eu2 a more in-depth and rewarding experience, without the seriousness and set up of eu3. I notice regularly when i'm on that the eu1 channels have more than 10 players on, and without the radio channels of acre this would seem like a cluster situation when trying to communicate. This implementation would stop this.

From zissou's post there are regularly 420 people who roughly connect to eu1 each day ( can't remember the exact numbers) thus this wouldn't hurt the amount of people playing on that sever. With the argument that this sever would take away from the eu3 player base, this simply isn't true, the players this sever would serve wouldn't play on eu3 in the first place, the would stick to eu1/2 without this sever.

However this being a stepping stone sever may have the affect of these players then moving onto eu3 once they get use to the systems and the more serious nature of gameplay which acre and ace implement into the sever. This does affect eu3, but only through providing the opertunity for people to eventually come over, therefore it's a positive affect.

People have mentioned who would set up this sever, pay for it, admin it etc... this isn't suppose to be set in stone yet, this is the ideas box after all, meant for people to give across ideas for improving the community experience and gameplay opportunities throughout the sever. These questions can be worked out once the idea is agreed on fully by the staff of this place. Everyone is also entitled to their thoughts and views on the ideas listed in this section, everyone is part of the same community even if it doesn't affect them, however censorship of peoples ideas should never take place, just because they don't agree with your opinion doesn't mean there wrong.

In the past ahoyworld hasn't been afraid to set up new severs if the support is there for them. Lets look at the recent squad severs or even go back to the excile severs which we had up in the past when that mod was popular. We even had ksp severs at one point which a few members use to play on.

I would also like to get rid of the idea that eu3 is a huge step up for players who regularly play on eu1/eu2. In reality if you are playing on eu1/eu2 in a relativity co-operative manner, such as the zesus gamenights, then the step up isn't huge at all. The gameplay is relatively similar, with the main change being acre and ace. Yes there are weapon and vehicle mods but these are mainly visual. The changes of ACRE and ACE can be learnt in training gamenights which i'll be willing to help in again once exams are over in the summer, hence why i'm away a lot at the moment. The 20 GB of mods can be downloaded overnight, I don't really see the issue here. I know that people don't like overally controlling squad leaders or team leaders who come across as spiteful, but these people shouldn't be part of the eu3 experience, so any problem with people acting elite over being veteran players should be reports.

In conclusion I believe a stepping stone sever would easy the transition for players from eu1 / eu2 to eu3. Through learning acre and ace without the other mods, It may encourage people to then go on and try the full experience of eu3 without the huge step up which is sometimes off-putting to players.

T'was a cold Easter morning, so I stayed in bed a little longer  . I went over to the lovely city of Leeds and visited the Royal Armoury Museum. If you're interested in all things guns, swords, pointy things, sharp things and shiny things then this is the place for you!
If you ever plan to visit car parking is not a problem and there's even some nice restaurants opening up to facilitate your belly.

Entry is free, unless your a tax paying British citizen then congratulations you've already paid!
So from walking in you're immediately greeted with an MG42! it's a kids play thing where you insert a quid into the slot and get to pew pew the bad guys. Looking up is impressive as you waft over to the reception desk you'll see a rather nice statue I was stupid enough NOT to take a picture of. Now me and my family were tipped off that there would be some jousting on display and after enquiring we had exchanged around a fiver each to see the three o'clock event. Book early to avoid disappointment and i should point out that I'm told jousting only really occurs around the Easter holidays. Who knew they had a world championship for hitting each other with lances on horseback?

Oh they also have actors pretending to be statues, here's a picture of a dude confusing the fuck out of the actor who probably thought we were in the same group.

First section! which also happens to be the shiny section.

above: Yes that's right, a moustache on a helmet, Italian designed but i can't remember much else on that one

below: Henry the 8th must've been a giraffe, his battle suit of armour stands really tall and now looking back at the picture, it's probably trickery, unless he really was a giraffe!

above: Apparently crotchless pants were a thing back in the day too. I don't have anything useful to say on this armour but I think it used to be a shiny blue, this pearlescent colouring was achieved by dangerously messing around with mercury while the armour was made.

below: Pointy things and horses making a great impact on the room. A rather impressive sight in person!

above: following on from the blue detailing of armour, here's the detail in somebody's knee plating, nothing is scarier than knee's with teeth!

below: again to follow on from the previous detailing pictures, this last one really shows that an armour craftsman is also an artist. When you go to the armoury, have a read into the manufacturing process of each type of technique employed to reach a certain look, fascinating!

above and below: a siege tower I'm sure that some of you interested in this era will already have seen, however for the un-initiated, this thing moves towards a wall, perhaps of a city or a castle. When it gets to the wall, the chaps inside release the ramp, climb the ladders and seek to destroy the defenders!

Stay tuned for videos of Jousting, a "hurdy gurdy" in action, guns! and oriental armour!

OK so first of all if players feel that others are causing a certain server to become toxic, please for the love of god send a pm on the forums to a member of staff. This should not be the first that I am hearing about this. Secondly I believe that this topic was to suggest an I&A server with a weapon and clothing/vehicle pack. In that regard you are all off topic and have hijacked this thread to push through your own desires. Thirdly, I am not sure as to which mods you want and why. Some of you claim that acre/ace are to complex while others claim that you want acre/ace because it is not a lot to download without weapon packs. And others don't want to join eu3 because of acre/ace but then want it on a separate server.
Finally I do plan to run eu5 row a week of two to test out the response. However I do not have the time or energy to make the mission and sort out the mods. Also this cannot only be just the one group from eu2 that plays a lot on the server. If I do not see it expanding the player base I will kill the server at the end of the trial run.

Jason. got a reaction from Ezlann in Side mission idea
If you just want side missions to be more of a challenge then wouldn't it be easier to just add more units to them? That would be much simpler than trying to merge multiple side missions together.
That said, I'm against making side missions harder, they're supposed to be a small optional mission that can be done by a small infantry squad.
Since they're often left alone with nobody interested in going to complete it, I don't think the FPS drop would be worth it.

I'd like the idea, but the way that ai vehicles move would mean that they're never going to reach their destination even if the mission is ignored, so I don't think these sorts of missions are possible atm

Although that did give me an idea that some side missions could have a time limit attached to them, that would add an extra challenge to the mission without the disadvantages of adding more enemy units.

Jason. reacted to kman in EU1 & EU2 NOTICE TO PILOTS RULES ARE CHANGING
As just a passenger I certainly like when pilots are more careful when approaching AO. Logging on and dying 3x in crash before I reach AO for the first time is total turn-off.

But the idea with pilot siting by the damaged heli and waiting for refuel, I don't see that working.

Yesterday I was on repair specialist class and Huron I was in took some beating and landed, I repaired it immediately and pilot thanked me, but then reported that it has no fuel. So we blew it up. Air-lifting fuel cistern to the damaged heli is - in my humble opinion - nonsense:

    * You are risking second chopper. (The Buzzard will not care you are on mission of mercy)
    * You are risking another pilot.
    * You now have TWO helis out-of-rotation, prolonging waiting times for everyone on server.

    1) Partial solution would be - if it can be programmed in - to remove fuel-leakage from the game.

    2) Even better would be: allow pilot class to carry Toolbox. If they know they can repair, they would try hard to make safe emergency landing.
You might say it makes repair specialist obsolete, but I think that class only makes sense if you log-in to become part of vehicle/boat crew anyway.

Jason. reacted to xSniper1982 in Removing the Panther
back in January - Jason - made a comment on a thread about Tank Crews/Slots

"Rather than adding more vehicles you could replace the (inferior) Mora and the (useless) Panther with another Marshall and/or Slammer, as they are more popular. Personally I'd really like to see at least two Marshalls spawning in base, as it's a vehicle I like to use but very often there's someone else using it."

    It made me think...
The Panther never really gets used as it's WAY too slow to take you over any distance and doesn't have any really firepower once it gets there.

It could be removed quite easily, without anyone really even caring.

And this got me to thinking, the Trucks >HEMTTs< aren't really used that often, same with the Hunters, and I think it's mainly about location in the base...
People don't want to go looking for them, and instead just wait for (scream at) pilots for transport, even when there are enemy Jets killing them time and time again.

This combined with the, ever so breifly used - coz issues - new base layout had me wondering if you wouldn't mind me putting together a rough design/layout, or if you wouldn't mind looking into one yourselves.

A layout with the ground vehicles, HEMTTs and Hunters, literally parked next to the Spawn/VAS in a line behind the small concrete barriers. This will make them more noticable to the guys on the ground, and perhaps improve the chances of people using them.

    HEMTTs -
A few times now I have taken a Medical HEMTT out to a AO or Zeus mission and found that it came in more useful than even I had expected as when there are no Medics in the area - live ones anyway - people did notice the Marker I had added saying >> Med Station << and therefore pulled their injured friends back to it, and thus were able to get them on their feet themselves.
The same with the Repair HEMTT, Keeping one close to the AO is really useful when a Heli goes down or a Vehicle gets disabled.

    HUNTERS -
People only ever want to take the Armed Hunters, but a Fire Support Team with a Armed hunter is pretty much wasting a vehicle, Having the unarmed Hunters right next to the spawn with a few First Aid Kits and Mortar Bipods/Tubes or Static HMGs in the back might give people a few extra choices that they didn't really consider.

    IFV / APC -
The Panther and Bobcat are far too slow to be of any practical use in the missions. The Bobcat however is such a useful vehicle when AOs are closer to the base, but it never gets used due to it being needed in Base for repairing Helicopters at the Landing Pads.
Perhaps having a Larger 3 pad area, in a triangular formation, with a Bobcat in the middle could be a nice solution for traffic flow and repair efficienc. (but that's a topic for another thread)

The Mora and Marshall often don't get used for anything other than a light tank, rarely do I see others using them as a transport option, Perhaps when an AO is close to base, 1 or 2 of the pilots could grab the Hunter and use it to ferry people back and forth to the AO. (same with Hunters for small groups, and HEMTTs for larger groups)

    TANKS -
Too often the people taking the Slammer just drive it into a field/onto a hill and then sit in it until destroyed...
    or
Charge into the AO with nothing but Machine Guns blazing slicing through the infantry....

I think the Slammer (Urban Purpose) should be removed for the heavier Slammer, which can either fight from long range, or as my friends and I do, stalk the outside of the AO looking for Armoured targets to remove before heading back to base. Because the Slammer doesn't have the Commander gun, that the Urban Purpose does have, it is much less effective at attacking infantry. This makes it more role specific and therefore might encourage the use of the smaller vehicles for that purpose.

I'm going to stop here, as I am currently shattered as it is almost 11am and I have not yet slept.
I have many more ideas that I will be sharing over the coming days.

I hope my input is useful, if not always needed..

The UAVs are designed to SUPPORT the ground troops, and the GBUs fit that role very nicely. If the Greyhawks had ATGMs then the UAV operator would be able to take out ground targets by himself too easily, and people on the ground would no longer be able to designate ground targets for him.

Another option would be to switch the AA Buzzard to the CAS version, which is armed with Skalpels and GBUs, but that's for a different topic...

I could probably list a hundred stupid things that players often do around minefields. But to keep it simple, nobody should be going anywhere near the minefield unless:
They have explosives to take down the Radio Tower AND there are not others already in the minefield.
Medics are obviously very useful and it is very important that they are kept alive, so I'd recommend AGAINST going into a minefield unless absolutely necessary.

However I understand this is something that will probably never change. I suspect that the sorts of players who are always getting blown up in minefields won't be reading this post.

Great work for getting this made, this is exactly what we needed.
Is it weird that I'm excited about this?

Could you give some info on what sort of screenshots would be best in the case of a TKer.
    Example screenshots:
TKs in chat:   This is the easiest evidence to provide since anyone can get those even if you're not able to see the killings in person.
TKs in action: Potentially very good evidence, however this can be quite difficult depending on how he's killing people.
Votekicks:       If you (the reporter) gets screenshots of different players using the "votekick" functionality already ingame, as that could serve as lots of mini-reports.

No doubt the best way would be for all the players on at the time to submit their own reports, however I don't think most people would actually be bothered to do it.

Also a mini-suggestion, if possible make it so that votekick cannot be spammed, e.g. put it on a 10 second timer or something so that players can't spam it.
