Also, you can try adding more power. Although it worked before aye?
I once had an issue and fixed it by adding a second power cable to the GPU. In case you are only running one cable, try two if your GPU has ports for it. (Dunno what the Jetstream looks like)

    EDIT:
Just looked it up, you should have two 6pin power connectors on your Graphics Card. If you have the cash to try things out, buy a separate cable for each. Just need to have enough ports on your power brick too.
But again, no idea if this is the issue. I am neither an IT guy nor have had this particular issue. I am just throwing ideas out there.

May we know Ur machine's specifications? Any problem with Single-Player or Showcases? I know the answer is 'No' but being a typical IT guy... Vanilla servers (EU1, 2 and 4) pose the same lag issues? As suggested by @Noah_Hero, check the Task Manager to see if there is a spike in CPU usage

    Hi @Stuart.G,

nice to see you playing again.
For troubleshooting may try open the task-manager while playing Arma so you can look at the stats when the lag occurs. That way you can check if it´s hardware, too much processes, a specific process or your network.

You say it worked on and off for a while before completely blowing. To me it sounds like something cooked through. Is it the power cable to the GPU maybe?

Tbh, anyone with a tag should be sufficient to help you if they want. Sure, you probably get a more all-round treatment from the Mods/admins/etc, that specialize in that and I would always go to them with technical issues,  but for these kind of IG questions you should find loads of people to help out. As said above, just poke them in TS and see who responds.
For AWE especially, there are people with a "dog tag" tag in TS, which marks them as AWE Veterans. They should be able to answer 99% of your AWE questions.

If you manage to get in a squad, talked to your Team Leader and maybe tell him you're new, at least for your first 3-4 Ops. According to my experience, we have quite a few newbie-friendly Team Leads online on a daily basis. It's just important they KNOW so they can look out for you. If they don't know, they will just assume you know what you're doing.

I suppose its not necessarily a 'new rule' But I am just reinforcing it and making people aware of this, And yes pilots may not read the rules but most people don't read the rules at all so we can't guarantee they do everything correct.

I respectfully disagree.  I find it a great way to paradrop supplies in.  I just load up a quad with what people need, put it in the back and paradrop it almost on top of them.  It's also quite useful if you want to get your prowler to the AO. But that's all just my personal opinion.

True, but there are 6 birds and 5 pilots.

I can't argue with that, you're (unfortunately for those who don't abuse it) right.

Recently I got my self a laptop that will at least run ARMA3 smoothly ( EU3 mods are a bit much for it though). I cant wait to get back in the action and am looking forward to talking to you guys again!

I&A can`t be ported to any custom map due to one function that checks that only Altis or Stratis are used.

Transport & Ambush needs a sufficient amount of players (15-20) to be propery played and not boring.

As for other missions, it`s hard to make perpetual missions, needs a lot of scripting, meaning Christiansen and Bacon are putting a lot of their time in it. As the mission will reach as stable or suitable development, it will be ported to other islands/maps.

You can create your own missions as well, we occasionally play short PvP or Coop missions during the week or weekend.

Stuart.G reacted to Mattadee in Suggestions (EU#1)
    Hello All;

So, I've been on EU#1 for quite a while now. I&A is one of the best, if not the best ARMA III game mode I am yet to have the joys of playing, however I feel that, as with everything, there is always room for improvement. I felt that in this post I would try my best to convey my biggest bug bear in the current build of I&A played on EU#1, because I feel that if this one issue is tackled, then the whole experience will be made infinitely better.

Okay, so my I&A pet hate is...... Enemy CAS jets!

Now, I see why these are in the game. They provide another element of danger on the battlefield which infantry and helicopters must take into consideration when tackling the objective, encouraging caution and taking fewer risks, like in a realist militarised scenario. The thing is, if the jets worked in the way which I think they are meant to, then I wouldn't have any problems with them at all. But they don't.

The thing that really grinds my gears about the way that the enemy jets work is actually a few things. First off, the fact that they chase choppers all the way back to the base. This isn't too bad, but what is is that when they eventually find the base, they must see some kind of BLUFOR pantomime and circle around, bombing and shooting every vehicle they lay eyes on until somebody has half the brain to use the base AA laptop. This problem wouldn't exist if everyone knew how to correctly use the AA laptop, and if there was always someone on standby to use it, but the fact of the matter is that there simply isn't. Sometimes people do use the base AA but it's either way too early or late, meaning that we (pilots, I usually play pilot) have to tolerate being continuously shot at for a ridiculous amount of time until another guy can have a shot at activating the AA after it comes off of cooldown. And even then, they could mis-time it and we have to wait even longer.

So that's one thing. The other thing is the fact that they seem to have unlimited missiles. Again, I can see why this is done. It's not like they can just re-arm, they need to be a constant threat right up until the moment that they are taken down. But, that said, there has to be some kind of compromise here. One of the reasons I felt like I needed to make this post was because the other day, I was returning to base in a ghost hawk and the Neophron found me, and tailed me back to base. In the 5km flight, it was able to, in quick succession, launch 6 AASRAM missiles. And I can only dodge so many with evasive flying. Perhaps, some kind of system or script dictating that the CAS jet can only fire x number of times a minute, or maybe just replace the CAS jet with an Orca or something. I actually feel that replacing it with an Orca would be much better, because never have I seen the buzzard actually target infantry over vehicles and choppers. And I have also never seen a hostile jet taken down by any means other than by the base AA, simply because I think that either the average Joe of I&A 1) doesn't think to take an AA launcher with him to the AO. 2) Doesn't bother firing at the jet because it can fly so quickly that it can flare off any kind of handheld rocket with ease.

So, I really hope that, even if this isn't taken into consideration that someone just hears my cry, because honestly, it's bloody annoying!

Oh well, thanks for listening *breathe Matt* rant over.

Also worth noting that there's already two UAVs armed with GBU-12s available. Recently decided to try and learn as many of thier quirks as I can, as they do indeed seem mightly quirky, but I feel like I've got a pretty good bead on their operation at this point.

I feel like they strike a good middle-ground, as they're rather hard to abuse due to the inaccuracy of the bombs without laser guidance from the ground.

I'm still investigating whether there's a reliable method of having one UAV autonomously bomb targets lazed by the 2nd player-controller UAV, but so far it doesn't seem possible. It can chase a laze, but it is extremely likely to get shot down or flat-out crash itself in the process, often before dropping its payload.

The UAVs, when operated properly, seem to function very well when strikes are directed from players on the ground, so I'd say keep that in. Keep the Skalpel-armed Greyhawk as a Side reward, and make its spawn chance near that of the jets as, frankly, its nearly as powerful an asset, but maybe add a 3rd GBU-12 'Hawk.

As an aside, I've currently only really got one problem with the UAVs, which is that I can't leave them alone on the rearm pad without them running off and getting stuck.

I'd love to get one onto the pad, and then be able to land a second UAV and drive it to the pad while the first one gets rearmed, but currently that is impossible.

If anyone has a solution to this, please let me know

Stuart.G reacted to DakimDragco in Medics on EU1
Well i guess i will be a bit part devils advocate of EU1/2, and part advertiser of EU3.

In comparison between the 2, EU3 is indeed made up of people generaly who want that feeling of team work and role play. Medics dont carry around Zafirs, Riflemans dont lop around a Interventio/Lynx, and CAS doesnt indiscimately bomb a AO.

However before people go on EU3 thinking nice, they should also be aware that the carefree do as you like atitude of EU1/2 ofcourse doesnt apply. Rules on EU3 are strict, and at times might be harsh, especialy if you new, or comming over from EU1/2.

So yes you will never fix the lonewolf, LMG hogging, missile totting medics of EU1/2 by anny means unless you change its carefree lollygagging nature to a evenly scrict rules heavy state then EU3.

And thats why there is a EU1/2 and a seperate EU3. After all some of us like that stricter rules enviroment, but some might not, so i guess we dont want to force them to be like on EU3.

Best advise came from Buglet, when you see such bad playing/non-role playing medics, or CAS for that part, then best thing is to play the role yourself and give a better example. You may not win over those lonewolfs, but might inspire some others to do the same as you non the less.
