    Version 0.23 of my Insurgency mission is ready to roll out!
     
    This mission is based on Project Reality's "Insurgency" game mode, but a lot more detailed.  In a nutshell: the city of Fallujah is overrun by insurgent forces, and your MARSOC team has a mission to take out several weapons caches hidden in the city.  You don't know where they are exactly, but you have a vague idea, and gathering intel will help you narrow down their exact location.  You have two hours to accomplish your objective.
     
    IMPORTANT UPDATE: TANGO WILL NOT BE OPERATIONAL FOR THIS GAME NIGHT DUE TO BUGS.
     
    SIGNUPS NOW CLOSED
     
    We had 45 signups on 31 roles last time, so sign up early.  We have more roles and if we fill up I will have some overflow slots in a squad of resistance fighters, which could be good fun in and of itself.
     
    Notable changes in 0.23:
    [FIXED] Sniper adjusted loadout: now has a PRC-343, and scope changed to Kahlia [CHANGED] Adjusted medic loadout to give more medical supplies. [ADDED] TANGO covert team. [ADDED] WHISKEY platoon command element (commander and JTAC). [CHANGED] Two Little Bird helicopters have been turned into UH-1Y Hueys. [ADDED] Helicopter co-pilots may paradrop loaded supply crates. [ADDED] Cargo supply area at Auxiliary Truck park. [CHANGED] How objective caches spawn so they don't blow up prematurely. [ADDED] Dynamics on how AI reacts to Tango team.     Hi folks,
     
    Here's what's happening for the next version (0.23) of Insurgency:
    Turned the helicopter crew (Sierra) into a Pilot/Co-pilot crew, and added an additional 2-man group (Romeo), so now there are 4 helicopter crew in total (2 pilots, 2 co-pilots). Changed 3x Little Birds to 2x UH-1Y (unarmed) Hueys and 1x Little Bird (M6-HM). Added Tango squad.  This three-man team is a recon squad, dressed in Takistani clothing and armed to match; they will be able to travel icognito in Fallujah in order to surveil the operation areas.  They don't show up on your map as BLUFOR, so coordination will be key (they do have a PRC148 to communicate with MARSOC); if they get too close to OPFOR, their cover will be blown.  Civilians treat them as regular OPFOR, as will Independent resistance fighters. Added Whiskey squad as Platoon Command. This two-man team consists of the Platoon Commander and a JTAC radio operator to coordinate with Romeo and Sierra. Added an 8-man squad on the Independent side; this is just in case we have another run on the server.  So now there are 45 slots in total.  If need be I'll add more Independent squads. Fixed a few loadouts: The Medic has a lot more medical supplies (thanks Minipily), the Sniper has a PRC-343 and a new scope (Kahlia). Added para-drops for helicopter cargo, as you can see here:
     
    More to come!  Hopefully I'll be in a position to host another game night this coming Friday.

    Personally i think that all camo variants should be available and all gun attachments, i do however feel like things such as the beards and more comical things should be limited as this is just wasting time and makes it a harder task to actually get to things that are important like useful NVGs and helmets. 
     
    Only thing that having more in the arsenal will affect is initial loading times into the arsenal once it is loaded up client side it wont affect gameplay at all.

    Limitations dont mean its a mill-sim server! Is that what you associate with mill-sim the most? I think theres many important factors that mill-sim has that we dont such as ranks and more organization .
     
    I guess more uniforms arent that bad now that I overthought it a bit, I do think there is a lil too much still.

    That's most likely the future Para, we will see how it works first handed Sunday night as I removed all radios from spawnies.
    Imo limited arsenal is great, as 40 different individual running around with different uniforms is just silly. Small differences such as helmet goggles backpacks is great enough for me PERSONALLY.

    Sahrani campaign storyline:
    Sahrani has been in chaos by the recent Civil War. The goverment has been overthrown and videos have shown up of executions of high-ranked Politcal members of the NATO friendly sided goverment As the island group is a part of the NATO Force they will now be supported by them with any means necesarry. Hoewever, before the main force arrives a small QRF of American soldiers whom where posted nearby have been ordered to migrate to the North-East airfield on the island of Antigua.
     
    GAMENIGHT 9/1/16 RECAP
     
    After one of the most bloody engagements of the Sahrani conflict in BAGANGO, where US Marines defended the town against most of the rebel forces, NATO has now turned into attacking mode with more of NATO`s designated forces arriving. Because of earlier captured positions such as the northern hills and the castle NATO now has full control of the Upper northen part of Sahrani, however insurgent activity is expected.
     
     
    OPORD:
     
    SITUATION
    The Joint Intelligence Committee assess that the threat of hostile military action in vicinity EVERON is now SEVERE, meaning an attack could occur at any time in the next two weeks and may do so without further warning signs.

    All NATO forces in the SAHRANI vicinity have been ordered to NATO ALERT STATE ORANGE.

    MISSION
    US NATO forces will conduct recon around O.P IXEL to clear rebel enemy reconnaissance camps that would prevent the ''act-of-surprise'' on initial assault of the rebels entrenched position near EVERON.
     
    FRIENDLY FORCES in the meantime can aquire boats in order to sucessfully assault BARRACKS via sea in cohesion with friendly forces conducting the recon.
    SUPPORT & SERVICES
    a) CASEVAC will be via Medical choppers in vicinity of EVERON
    b ) Munitions, support weapons and OTHER will be by CROSSROADS and Vortex
    c) Ground & Aerial support includes aerial recon by UAV Operator attached to CMD, aswell as 1x Bradley controlled by Hammer, Talon, MMG & MAT.

    Probably having to back out of this one, finally got my PC to recognise it was a legitimate version of Windows, and it instantly started to upgrade to Windows 10.  It saved all my files, which is about all it saved.
     
    All the games, Steam, TS and Arma3Sync have been removed. It even got rid of WinRar and has set the keyboard configuration to American...
     
    It'll take me the majority of Tomorrow and probably a large chunk of Saturday to get things up and running properly

    Greetings to the EU 3 members.

     



     

    Today we have a special update for you all. 

    We will be adding the winter version of Chernarus with a version of Gauntlet complete with a snowstorm. This will be available to play on from now until January 4th. 

     

    Secondly, we are switching from TFAR to ACRE. ACRE works very similarly to TFAR, however, there are some big changes. Changes such as things like duplex, different hotkeys (Caps is still radio PTT), and set radio channels.

    So the holidays are aproaching and I thought I would give you guys a update on the status and direction of Valiant and other things.
     
     
    Valiant\Gauntlet
     
    First and foremost Gauntlet is now legacy "software" and will not be maintained by me at all, so kudos to the guys who hot-fixed it post 1.54.
     
    Moving on: Valiant has been put on hold until the holidays are over and the new year rings in because work has been pretty hectic and I havent had the energy to put in hours on development. So the 300+hours i spent on it in october still is as how far as I got.
     
    This means the mission currently is pre-alpha tested for stability in the main and side FSMs for mission selecting and it has 5 main missions and 3 side missions. This wil be expanded upon when I deem the selector FSMs rock stable(which pre-alpha tests showed it was).
     
    Expanding upon the initial 300+hours of deving a new "backend" plus learning FSM will be some form of AAR\Stattracking in the form of ALiVE mods stuff we tested on the Insurgency mission we played, I will not however add any object\player persistency as saving the current mission state(in-game mission) is not viable and I dont want to add any mod dependencies as I made valiant as effortlessly possible to just port over. By effortlessly I mean copy over the code onto a base-template and alter the DAC unit configs to whatever you have as your poison.
     
    Moving on yet again, I have a question for you the users:
     
    Gamenight(s)
     
    Upon player Valiant_Insurgency I felt that the general consensus was that this was great fun and I felt I could make some improvements\other styles of the same deal(Persistent,multi sessions to complete) and I was thinking that I would make a fictional Nation and Scenario where the small nation of Ahoy had to push a invader out of their territories(All viable maps in the repo).
     
     
    This generally would mean in rough outlines that each mission would take 2-3 game-nights to complete depending on how far\long we take to push and repell the occupying forces. We would need to use logistics properly as in I will give the platoon a set amount of ammo in the form of either crates\ammo-trucks\rhinos that need to be moved as we gain ground and general CSS(combat service support) would be maintained in a more expanded approach than we use atm i.e repairs,refueling etc.
     
    Re-spawn will be handled like in Val-Ins with a spawn timer of 10 minutes (or more).
    Fixed loadout would be in effect as we are a nations army and not pmc-esque style of Valiant\Gauntlet.

    The Community Upgrade Project is just a name to combine content ported from A2 to A3 ( I believe, correct me if im wrong). right? So your referring to the old maps from A2 such as Zargabad, cherno etc and you want to quickly start a zeus mission there without any Gauntlet like missons and Ambient AI in there from the start?
     
    In regards to any maps outside of the map pack we use on #eu3, I am not familiar how they are handled by arma 3, however regarding your questions about a 

    ''Standard Template''
     
    for the #EU3 maps what I do if I make a Gamenight mission, and I am sure the other game night/mission creators do the same is either:

    1. Make a mission from scratch ( you were having trouble as you said)
    2. Carefully di-sect Gauntlet or any other mission you have played who has the features you like until the core is still there, and copy paste over re spawn points and arsenal boxes etc. ( tip:You can actually CTRL+C/CTRL+V  items/objects/markers in the 2d editor over from one project to another!). 

    Cant find the missions ? Go to the MPMissions folder in your A3 Root folder, there are the .pbo files you download when you join a server which you can open yourself!
     
    Now the 2. might be hard for you too if you dont have any prior experience but its definitely easier then creating from scratch.
     
    Now that I think of it I might create a group of templates this weekend and ask if they are uploaded as clean ''Zeus Missions'' with all the perks such as game night modes, arsenal boxes, a FOB/Base to start from and re-spawning vehicles @ base. The Only issue is the assignment of Zeus to a certain player who is not a mod/admin on #EU3.
     
    I have had alot of fun creating the most basic of missions using Zeus, and adding your own temporary story to it in matter of minutes which gives the players a whole new experience and a way to get some diversity from the pretty great Gauntlet( not kidding, its good!)
