    Im currently doing some missions changes for version .15 and also revising the VA to clean it up abit but it is quite the ordeal to do, ref the my right screen on  the picture below. This is still very much WIP so dont cry if you dont see your fav-gun etc. =)

    Myself and raz went flying in a full motion 737-800 simulator yesterday! A few may have already seen it but I thought I'd post it here
     

     
    I start off with a circle to land approach at Chambery (approach chart we were following is here), I then do a night landing at Gatwick followed by one in the crosswind from the right at about 15kts, I didn't do it very well though 
     
    Raz takes over and does an engine start and taxi out onto the runway followed by a takeoff, we fly around for a bit then land at Leeds Bradford, it all goes well until the crosswind disappears and we have to go around, raz goes for a second attempt and lands.
     
    Overall an awesome day.

    I don't particularly play EU3 for the realism, i play it for the organization of doing missions (+tacticool of radios) and just getting away from unmodded servers, where people will use side mission reward vehicles (A-10) to cleanup the AO before anyone gets there.
     
    I thought the whole purpose of gamenights was to have these uber realistic sessions you are talking about and rest of the week being casual.
    I think it's better that way anyway. Cause during the week people are on the server at uncertain rates from 10-20, weekends being the usual exceptions.
     
    I don't mind you doing your borat thing, but occationally do it at wrong place at the wrong time, when things are being organized. Cause even in base we need to get things done. Perhaps you should setup a canteen area for friendly banter in base (you know a place where ready players can talk while others equip), which isn't within earshot of the Arsenals.

    Unnecessary restrictions for casual day gaming, sounds more like things for a gamenight.
     
    Different camouflages do not really get people killed, in most cases it's through sheer recklessness of the shooter. Even the most Murican camouflaged
    players get teamkilled just as much. In CQC they usually occur cause of reflex shots and lack of communication. Besides the enemy camouflage is really distinctive.
     
     
    Don't mean to offend, but Lightingkill you are just as bad in behavior in EU3. With some verbal trolling, when people try to setup.
    It's casual day gaming, which is why i dont take it too seriously, but still occationally we get delayed by 15-30min, when the everyone piles on and it avalanches.
     
    That is why i only join EU3, when senior and tacticool members of ahoyworld appear, cause only then people really get their act together in short notice.

    this would require a mod that everyone would have to have installed which then would restrict who could join EU1.
    As policy we do not use mods that restrict vanilla users to join.

    I agree with having set camos for gamenights yes. But this should be chosen by the mission developer. Not by poll every week, just seems like a bit of a waste of time. If that is the case we might as well start polling for what colour NVG's we want. As we're basically skipping everyone doing dress up in-game and voting for it on the forums instead.

    No matter what, don't let Cain get hold of a Zafir LMG. He will turn into "Trigger", and stay that way throughout the gamenight. And history has proven that there is no logistical service in the world that can keep up with the amount of ammo he uses.

    The REPO has been migrated to a brand-new (and way more powerful) server.
     
    There is no action or configuration required from your end, and the service should be resumed even without any downtime. You wont notice a thing (i hope).
     
    If however you experience any connection problems you can force you computer to connect to the new server:
    start --> CMD --> ipconfig /flushdns   (with pictures)

    Technical talk:
     
    I have just switched the DNS 'A record' to the new IP, while keeping the old server online until the DNS is properly replicated in the DNS hierarchy. This should insure smooth migration without interruption. 
     
     
    Write me a PM on the site, or talk to some admin on teamspeak in case you experience any problems in regards to this migration.

    Welcome to the weekend!

     

    To kick 2015 off in style we will be doing three organised sessions this weekend!

    I've spread the times out over the different days so hopefully all can make at least one session.

    We also hope to now continue with the once a week gamenights.

     

    We will be playing Patrol Operations just as normal!

     

    The meet up time will be as follows:

     

    Friday - 19:00 GMT

    Saturday - 16:00 GMT

    Sunday - 17:00 GMT

     

    Obviously JIP will be allowed however popular slots will no longer be available.

     

    I will be reserving Mission Dependent slots for certain people (Pilots, Command)

    I'm only doing this to make sure the gameplay is fun and enjoyable for everyone!

     

    If you're interested in a slot feel free to post below with day and slot. You might just get it other wise, we will arrange it in the half hour before the session begins.

     

    I also ask that you listen and follow commands orders. 

     

    Any dicking around will be taking seriously and admin implications may apply for any attempt to ruin or misbehave.

     

    Hope to have a good turn out and see y'all on the battlefield!

    For now, manual. I'm still uploading the mod to the repo, and I ran into some issues which delayed the process. Should be on the repo around the end of the day.
     
    JSRS 2.1/2.2 are still usable, and will stay usable.

    Since there are so few sources on getting Headless Client to work for Arma 3 I thought that I would make a topic about it here with hopefully some helpful links and tips. please feel free to ask any questions or post any tips that you have here.
    So first off here are a few links that I found to be the most useful.

    the clearbackblast is a little dated but still very useful.
     
    For now I will just be using I&A as the example for setting up your mission for headless client. This means Headless Client controlling AI spawned from script. For AI placed in the editor I would recommend reading the tutorial from clear backblast
     
    The very first thing that you will need to do is in the editor place down the Headless Client unit and make it playable. It is under the virtual entities unit type.
     
    So first off you will need to tell the server to be able to run the mission with or without the headless client connected to the server. If it is a simple mission that handles all of the scripts from one main init.sqf you will want to put this block of code in

    HeadlessVariable = true;
    publicVariable "HeadlessVariable";
    execVM "Script_to_run_on_HeadlessClient.sqf";
    };
     
    However in case of a more advanced mission like I&A that spawns in AI from sqf's further down the line you will want to make that block of code look like this

    HeadlessVariable = true;
    publicVariable "HeadlessVariable";
    };
     
    You may want to put that block into a sqf that handles scripts for clients that run on the player's local machine.
     
    In case you are setting up a Headless Client for something more similar to I&A you will want to now put this block in to where you would normally spawn in the AI

    };
    };
     
     
     
    I&A uses this exact block
      if (isServer) then { if (isNil "HeadlessVariable") then { hint "works"; _enemiesArray = [currentAO] call QS_fnc_AOenemy; }; };  
    That should do it for setting up the mission for headless client to use AI spawned from script. Now we will have to set up the server and Headless client itself.
     
    First what you will need to do is create a batch file for the client to launch the Headless Client. So create the batch file in the same folder that your server is in as long as there is an arma3.exe file there. in the batch file put this line in with your server's ip and port numbers.
      arma3.exe -client -connect=127.0.0.1 -password=YourServerPassword −cpucount=2 −nosound −mod=ModsForHCtorun   in your server config file you will need to put in this line headlessClients[]={"127.0.0.1"};   That should be it for getting Headless Client up and running. Please leave any questions that you have and if you have any tips please post them as well.   If you have set everything up correctly the headless client should connect to the server and be put into its slot automatically a few seconds after joining the server.   A few important notes are that the Headless Client slot and client will only be visible when you are logged in as admin. The second is that headless client will not solve all of your problems and you will still need to find the right balance of things that are passed off to the Headless client and things that stay with the server..

    You must change the mission a bit for HC to work. We are currently running tests with HC on EU#1, and my average fps went up from 19-20 to about 29-30 at base. In the current version only the main AO is working with HC, so it may increase a bit more.
     
    It shouldn't take to long before the mission is released. If you are running an older (and/or modified) version that you what to use HC with, join teamspeak and we will see if we can help you implement it.

    As you might know, there are some... ahem ... Issues with the UAVs at the moment. The root of the issues is a BIS bug, and then there are some attempted fixes that didn't go so well and made it worse! As a result I decided to finally report the issue.
