Why do you think you were banned? I have no idea. I was en-route to exfil from an AO in the South West area of Sahrani; at the time the AO ended Kingfisher (my copilot) and I, as Vortex 1, had no comms with ASL due to the distance and mountains between us. We attempted to radio ASL for instructions, but got a garbled, unintelligible answer; I responded saying as much and that we'd head over to collect them from the Airstrip we could they were approaching on C-Tab. As the AO was near an airstrip, we decided to use the C130 at base as an exfil vehicle, simply to break the monotony of helicopter extractions; there were between 15 and 17 other players active at that time. I let Kingfisher fly from the co-pilot seat with unlocked controls, as I had to go AFK for a bathroom break and to check on some food I had cooking, and returned to see us being shot down by AA at the airstrip as we were coming in to land. There was no report of any AA previously, and we'd flown over the AO as CAS and transport with no issues. Upon respawning, I was banned by Nicolai for disobeying chain of command.
I attempted to speak to Nicolai to find out why he banned me; shown below is the response I received.

I approached another moderator to ask if they could look into the reason for my ban, and they requested that I post an appeal. I still have not been informed of why I was banned.
Why (in your personal opinion) should your ban be lifted? I don't know why I was banned, and have not been told. I've been going through a pretty tough time IRL lately, and AWE is proving a really good way for me to chill out and forget the things that have made me lose sleep for weeks.

Read and I approve. Something that we may see as rather trivial on first glance may actually be meaningful to others, so in that respect I'm happy to put it to a vote, as long as you reserve the right to veto it.

So it turns out that many of you don't like the new TS Tags, and that's fair.  This is a classic case of starting with a small task (fix the AWE moderator tag) that snowballed into a larger task (design something that makes sense across all the icons) and exploded into a big thing (create a whole new theme).
 
And it was done in isolation, assuming that it was such a small thing that no one would care or perhaps even notice.  Boy was I wrong!
 
So, here's how I'd like to go forward from here:
 
1) We'll go back to the older tags for now.
2) I'd like to start a design competition where everyone can submit their concepts for what new tags could be, with an actual prize.
3) When people have made submissions, we'd submit them to a vote, in addition to the current legacy tags.
4) If a new set of tags is chosen by majority vote, that person would win the actual prize. If the old legacy tags are chosen, then a random person who submitted tags will win.
 
and in general, any changes to all aspects of the site, no matter how small, will be conducted with consultation. I appreciate that you people care about how we do things here, and if you didn't, it wouldn't be the great place that it is.

Its early Alpha it should be finished by the end of the year -dean hall.
 
my point is that whilst it may not be finished maybe it should have spent more time on the drawing board before being released.
 
also the donor sign is a dollar sign for a Europe based community the servers all have EU in the names. the fact we are using a US currency for the donor tag is absurd  

Who ate the old tags and pooped out these?

I guess I won't be looking much at them anymore, but from what I've seen; they look really off - especially the font including the border which the letters are written in makes me not like them more than the previous ones.

Or radical suggestion... AW1, AW2, AWE.

Regardless congrat to Ryko, interesting to see where we go from here.

P.S. can you re-brand AWE to EU#3?  -- Sounds way more logical in comparison to the other two servers.

Yes,respawning is faster,but real man return lobby and load in new to avoid +1 death count
And no,i dont expect a admin to be present each time,but i wished EU1# had a admin/ZEUS present at any time,we got enough people in the ranks,no?
Reminds me back on a idea to have seperate admins for each server that spend their online time there mostly to ensure less fuck ups (Pilots,TKing,wasting assets,troll´ing,etc.)

I dont mind side rewards are not "designed specifically for me" (kinda pathetic saying isnt it) and are up for anyone - but dont forget i spend 30min for this side alone while none of the pubs made any effort going for that mission.The fact it spawned a KUMA that early made me jump in exitement as i waited quite a  time for such a occasion and called dibs/dips - which clearly signals that i wanted it.
I wasnt even going to do hours with it,just 1-2 sides and some arty shredding in a great vehicle,then maybe have given it to anyone interested.
 
And on this very situation we r not talking about a "regular pub" - as i mentioned those dude(s) pulled that stunt twice now in the past week.
And let aside one of em is a AW+ "donator" so i can expect a tad of fair play.
In fact,in all those 2,5 years here i havnt seen a similar fuck up from a AHOY member at all.

Having been playing with Ahoyworld since 2013 and witnessing the birth of EU3 and the build up to you taking over development, it's even crazier to see you now basically running the whole show.

Hello all AhoyWorld members!

As a result of long term ongoing discussions, @Davidour site leader for almost a year has decided to move on and pass leadership forward. After extensive discussion I have been elected to take his place.

We thank David for his leadership and contributions to the AhoyWorld community and wish him all the best in his future endeavours. He has agreed to stay on temporarily in an advisory capacity until things smooth out, however his decision on whether he decides to stay with us long term has yet to be decided.

For my part, I'll appreciate your patience and support during this period of transition and I look forward to seeing you out in our various virtual battlefields.

Hopefully this function will also be added in Zeus and not just the editor! Would definitely be awesome.

Self-confessed beginner here, this would be great.  I've dipped in and out of a few online gaming communities but thus far AhoyWorld and Arma3 in general has been the most welcoming.  I played through all of the single-player campaigns from OFP through to Arma3 over the years, but joining the AW Enhanced server last night was an eye-opener.  Lots to learn, but it looks immensely rewarding.

I'm sorry about that, I altered a line in the mission file which I didn't realise was something called publicly. I'll rectify the line ASAP.

Firstly I do know that my name is still in the credits page in the map diary.
 
I am making this post to ask why my name has been removed from the splash screen of I&A 3, a mission that I wrote from scratch. I have spent months working on the mission only to have my name removed, almost to say that I did not work on it almost entirely alone. To remove the author's name anywhere that the original author put their name is highly unethical.
