  1. Some nice flying during an extraction on Saturday
  2. Ghost had enough of being TeamKilled today...
  3. Ooh, OK Release Candidate just went live:
  4. This is good to know it was about 8 weeks ago they announced the dev branch getting 64bit support...
  5. Oh yeah there's the whole Nvidia RAM shitstorm isn't there! I forgot that when I configured the startup options... Although... having said that, GTA5 does show "8GB VRAM Available" when I run that, so is this a case-by-case?
  6. Has anyone tried the development branch recently? (Since December) NOTE: Doing this will mean you can't connect to AW so only do it if you want to download 10GB of updates, then another 10GB to revert back. The 64-bit version of Arma3 makes a huge difference on my setup. I made a few tweaks as per this guide: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=385577681 and then installed the development branch to see what difference 64-bit would make. And, wow, what a difference. My game went from 30-40fps to 80fps. I wasn't sure at first whether the difference was due to the tweaks I made as per the above link or the dev branch, but after reverting back so that I could play online (and keeping the tweaks) my framerate dropped again. My setup: Intel i7 4790K 2 x GTX970 (SLI) 16GB RAM I think the main improvement is due to the game being allocated 12GB of system memory and 8GB of Video RAM. Everything was so smooth, even though I'm on a 60hz monitor, so with framerate 'to spare' I re-enabled VSync too which gives a nicer feel as well. Does anyone know when the 64-bit version is due to go live? Also, are there any benchmarking tools I can run within/alongside Arma to more scientifically record this?
  7. Self-confessed beginner here, this would be great. I've dipped in and out of a few online gaming communities but thus far AhoyWorld and Arma3 in general has been the most welcoming. I played through all of the single-player campaigns from OFP through to Arma3 over the years, but joining the AW Enhanced server last night was an eye-opener. Lots to learn, but it looks immensely rewarding. p.s. thanks @SeigeSix for helping me get connected last night!
  8. So I tried AhoyWorld for the first time last night, after watching one of Leutin09's videos. Sure enough I bumped into TheScar the second I joined AW EU1 He was thrilled to see another newb I'm sure. Anyway, I've been playing ARMA (or should I say Operation Flashpoint!) since the original OFP. I remember playing OFP1 online with some dutch guys many moons ago, but since then things have got in the way, family, renovations, work, the usual stuff. I still don't get much time to spend online but having spent a couple of hours last night on this, I think I've found something I could sink my teeth into. I'd love to get a bit more involved, but with 2 young kids, time is a bit of a premium so I'm unlikely to be able to guarantee a timeslot every week! I'm a software developer with 10 years experience having graduated in 2005, so would be very interested in helping out with any of the techy parts of the community. (Speaking of which, the OAuth link to sign up with Google is broken, as is the link to the "Introduction Forum" in the message sent to me when I signed up ) Hope to see you all online. I'm "Jimbo" on both Arma and Teamspeak Shoutout to the guys I played with last night, sorry I can't remember all the tags exactly! DefermentNL Southern[something] Fatie LittleB Bullet and anyone else I forgot And that Drunken Pilot! Good flying.
