    Was a fun mission. My first time leading a squad, I hope it was not too terrible to serve in Bravo tonight - I'm afraid my leadership was weak.
    I also hope that you didn't hear my keyboard too much, I apologise for that.
     
    I believe that the difficulty setting and amount of enemies was more fun during last week's mission; I think it's just more fun to have longer lasting firefights and engagements.
    Today was a lot more laid back engagement-wise for me (and all of Bravo squad I think).
     
    Having a platoon element was defenitely good, the downside to me personally was increased command chatter and decreased situational awareness (regarding both the strategic and the tactical situation), but I think that with more iterations the benefit of having that big picture coordinator will start to show more and more.
     
    Big issue for me was people who were not on TeamSpeak. It split the squad. Those who were on TS and just listened without talking were doing just fine (@Jenkins for example), but those who JIP'd and never joined TS were quite the problem. I used TS and not the ingame group chat for squad management, so everybody who was not on there didn't really know what was going on and what to do, especially tragic with @pepeNS who JIP'd into the vacant Bravo medic slot but as far as I know didn't join TS and thus was very difficult to coordinate with - working two chats was very taxing, working three chats - one of which is redundant for most of my players - would have been one too much. For me at least. But maybe I'm just not made to be a squad leader.
    Not sure if making TS presence a requirement would be the solution though, after all these missions are supposed to be less difficult to join and more public and vanilla.
     
    We also might want to consider mixing the more experienced players with the less tactical ones to even the squads out a bit.

    Does this picture summarize my Arma 3 experience in 2018? Let's see...
    Was it created in the editor using only vanilla assets? - ✔️ Does it use scripts? - ✔️ Did it take a ridiculous amount of time? - ✔️(three hours) Will it never see the light of the Steam Workshop? - ✔️ Did I enjoy this? - ✔️ Yup, defenitely my Arma 3 experience.

    You are totally right: it is chaos. Everybody is indeed running around like chickens, but let me tell you this:
     
    - You want organisation to the max with command present every day? This will cost money, do you want to pay the salaries for the already busy staff so they can monitor 24/7 if everbody walks in line/wedge/column with enough spacing?
    - Other option we leave it like this, one of the best populated servers in the game. Free for everybody, we pay the servers and fix issues and let everybody play how they like, and for some, who do want organisation, we have gamenights on EU3, and yes, that one is free aswell.
     
    What a waste of time to having explain this, welcome in the gaming world were i would suggest you go play tetris: no chaos.

    That sounds like a reasonable idea to me, however server roles are so packed there are not even basic rifleman slots. Maybe if we removed the CLS Team?

    I see no reason to change this unless core staff asks me to.
    LAT and HAT are both AT; sitting on some hill and exploding things with a guided missile launcher might be entertaining from time to time, but whenever I load a LAT loadout to actually (attempt to) participate in some combat (and kill MRAPs and low shit) I feel like the last fucking retard on the server because I might as well pick any other slot and do the exact same thing plus have the other slot's benefits, abilities and equipment. That is the exact point I personally see in restricting all launchers to AT. If a regular foot soldier carried AT that would make him an AT rifleman, wouldn't it?
    Might as well give every slot access to all gear, aircraft and engineer / medic skills, maybe disable stamina and remove the weight limit too while we're at it, maybe that's what people are looking for.
    But if we're going to restrict equipment, then maybe the restrictions should make sense and offer some balance.

    I don't really see the need for this mod (apart from the Pawnee), but the licence merely states that you need the creator's permission to use it. Now I don't know about real mod makers, but if I made a mod, I would want people to use it, and if one of the bigger Arma 3 multiplayer projects came around asking if they can use my stuff I'd be more than happy to let them...

    That is a problem I have too, BIS support and me were unable to find a solution. The game is not told to wake up again, so it remains running, taking up RAM and, for some reason, blocking the screen. Windows will still respond to your input though, so I usually move Arma 3 to another desktop because it leaves me with a clear one which I can end the task from.
    This will not happen if you run the game in window or fullscreen window or if you just don't Alt + Tab out of it.
    I thought the issue was driver or DirectX related, but since you have a GTX and I have an AMD, only DirectX remains as a possible culprit. Unfortunately, this problem will likely not get fixed and I am not willing to reinstall my OS again for some faulty line in some DirectX settings file to be reset.

    @Amentes said it all. The point about Titans and lasers is correct and GBUs indeed no longer lock while on the aircraft pylon. LOAL was a thing before, but now BIS removed the possibility to lock onto the laser with the GBU prior to drop entirely, so only LOAL remains.
     
    Since EU#1 is also, well, our server, and I & A is our mission, we can restrict, enable and disable whatever gear or mechanic we deem fit to balance the I & A experience on our server.
    As said, written, noted and expressed countless times before, leaving all the fun activities to CAS assets controlled by 10% of players (out of 60) is not deemed fit; neither is having a medic with a 6.5 mm belt-fed LMG and a rocket launcher take out OPFOR squads across the AO with his high powered scope from the hill he was inserted behind.
     
    If you know better, just head to the Editor and make your own mission.

    "C:\Users\YOU\Documents\Arma 3 - Other Profiles" stores your user profile(s). Each subfolder contains "NAME.Arma3Profile" which stores things such as your key bindings. I recommend backing up the entire profile (= every subfolder of "Arma 3 - Other Profiles") or just the entire folder because it also stores your Editor scenarios, your singleplayer save files and some more stuff.
     
    Your graphics settings and some other things that shouldn't be tampered with are in "C:\Users\YOU\Documents\Arma 3\Arma3.cfg", just in case you want to have the full backup package.
