    Hi all,

    I will keep this brief,

As you've all probably noticed Piranha hasn't been around much lately, this is due to a number of reasons which I won't go into, so with a heavy heart he has decided that it would be best for the community to step down from his leadership role and hand the reins over to me.

This isn't my first rodeo, and I'm sure further down the line I may make mistakes, possibly big mistakes, and bad decisions that not many people may agree with. Nevertheless what I can bring to the table is openness, transparency and hopefully stability.

There are a few areas that I will be looking to improve on; clarity of roles, community engagement and most importantly communication within staff.

I hope that you will all back me through this difficult period and be patient with me in trying to turn this community around.

Remember, if you have any ideas/suggestions please bring them to us, we are always looking to improve.

Lastly, I would like to thank @PiranhA for his contribution and wish him all the best for his future endeavours.

    Mark T

I also learned about AW because of Luetin, but I don't think he was still here when I joined. Came for LT, stayed for cool community.

    Wazup Matteo,

Theres a lot i would like to explain and tell, but i bet you already know. Theres only one thing i would like to mention and that's about @TheScar:

We adopted him, when he was a small clown, hes been with us for a long time. We've been feeding him (mainly titan AT's) and tried to teach him some manners, but we failed. He dosnt have a drivers license and is cleared to fly. He never holds his gun properly and never uses the safety switch.
He is (we think) a mature clown now but we still cant get rid of him. Weve send tons of enemy's toward him but he just keeps coming back, maybe you can help us please? We were thinking of toxic gas, what are your thoughts about it?

    Hi everyone,

Over the last year and a bit I've put a lot of my free time into Ahoyworld.  Right now the time has come for me to take a step back and leave the staff team, I'll be taking a break of an undetermined length. This because I've been spending just a bit too much of my free time as Ahoyworld staff.  I need to get my priorities, like my real life, straight again. There are no hard feelings between me and anyone from the staff team.  You'll still see me around on teamspeak and on the server but as just another player.

I'd like to thank everyone for my time on the staff team, I truly enjoyed it.

Hi to all that take the time to read this intro .

So not to say much but have been playing on Ahoy servers for a while now and some of the guys who I've played with in this time are (Lindi,Plant1ng,Stanhope,Admiralbumfluff,Skalman to mention a few) There have also been some other unlucky fellows who have witnessed first hand my amazing piloting skills.

Other than that, I'm super excited to be a part of this community and doing my part where ever I can! I dont know much about much right now but I've steadily started to learn and plan on keeping that up.

    Peace

CBA had an update, if you're using it through steam it will have automatically updated.  The server side version hasn't yet.  But if i'm not mistaken it will have updated after the next server restart.

    Right, what I've thrown together:

Enemy officers and squad leaders that have been killed will have a scroll wheel option to search their bodies for intel.  You'll also be able to talk to civies and ask for intel.  (civies have to be alive to talk to them, enemies have to be dead to search their corpse )
When searching an enemy corpse you have a 60% chance of finding intel, when talking to civies a 50% chance.
When you find intel the map will be updated, the current hint square will be reduced by 20%  (20% of the current size of the square, not 20% of the size of the original square).

These numbers are open for tweaking.  It will be added in I&A 3.3.7.

Thanks for the feedback Pero, ill do my best. I dont mind stuff like this, its common in my daily life, theres only one thing vital:

And to be honest, i think its already solved. Some people gone, taking a break or went somewhere else, i hope everybody is doing the right thing to get a good time. You can do it here, im happily to provide, you can go somewhere else if you want to and find something better, i said the same to my ex-wife..., rest is history and we both happy now.

    Ahoy all members,

We have some news for you! There will be a change within the leadership of ahoyworld. Effective today, I am stepping down as leader of Ahoyworld, and handing the reigns over to PiranhA. There are a variety of reasons for this transition, which I'll get into, but I will say that this has not been a snap decision: We have had many meetings with PiranhA over the past few weeks with an eye to leadership transition, as we on the Core Staff wanted to be sure the future of Ahoyworld would be guaranteed, with progress being made in the process.

I'll explain why Core Staff came to this decision of putting a fish in charge of the boat.

As a bit of background, the majority of the current members of Core Staff have been running Ahoyworld for a long time, and things in their real lives have been taking precedence over pushing Ahoyworld along to make it an interesting, exciting community to play games. We've kept the motor running and paid the bills, but there hasn't been a lot of time left over to make it a better place.

In short, some new blood is needed at the tiller. PiranhA has the confidence of Core Staff to keep a firm hand into new waters, as well as to keep the ship in the right direction (to maximize the amount of naval analogies). We trust him to handle the community like it is one of his kids, as we see Ahoyworld a child of our own. PiranhA has been a constant Ahoyworld supporter and has really stepped up over the years, going above and beyond his role as just an administrator in Ahoyworld: some of you may recall he assisted in hosting the Ahoyworld meetup in Holland in 2016.

We hope everybody will give PiranhA a warm welcome and help him to adjust to his new position. To ease him into the position, we are going to have a long transition period: while the people in the current Core Staff positions will eventually change, for now, everyone is staying on board in their respective capacity to ensure that PiranhA gets up to speed and is supported in the best manner possible. PiranhA has a lot of great ideas for the future direction of Ahoyworld: We have been talking through and thinking about within the Core Staff and see his plans as very ambitious, but achievable. For myself, I will still be very much firmly attached to Ahoyworld, but I will be spending more time on development of both the public and modded missions.

From a player's point of view - you probably won't notice any change to your gaming experience.

As a final word about this transition: We are well aware that over the past few days there has been alot of unrest within the community. It's important to note that this transition is coincidental with those recent events, these discussions about transition have been ongoing for several months.

Another change we want to highlight is the return of David (Muckduck) to Core Staff: we've needed another body to help out with communications, and as David has done this in the past, we're confident he'll be a great fit in this role.

    All the best,

Ryko and Core Staff (RazGriz33, Christiansen, S0zi0p4th, Mark T)

just some minor thougts without any takin side by me :

First off,AhoyWorld isnt defined by "some" individials - its more of a general thougt about being a part of a community that offers YOU a place to enjoy, witness and strenghten the community spirit by doing what you enjoy in the first place ... playing a video game with similar minded people.
Remember, thats the basic thing that unites us all.
Like in real life, you always run into people you like more and people you like less.
The thing is dealing with that while keeping the main goal your lead you strive for - having fun with like minded people.
That sometimes means to swallow some, talk some and if you find no solution by this ... moving on.
Remember,AhoyWorld isnt defined by feelings and personel grudges and nothing in this World should trigger such.
But,as we all humans we always will stumble over such minor issues and its on us to overcome these issues on a regular base.

    Summa sumarum,
dont get fooled by the topic title - there is a future for AhoyWorld and its not looking as badly as the past topics may suggest.

For example,i just looked up the community i started my MP domination with back in the 1990s - and surprise, surprise (not really for me) its still rocking:
    Bravery Honor Courage
    *salutes*
i even still know some of those guys listed there, back in those days we played Medal of Honor (the proceedor of CoD *shruggs*) and see they evolved and kept the theme and spirit the same as in my 90s days!
Take that as a example where the road is going for AhoyWorld

    So far,back to work

Heads up,gents - its not the end (yet)

People keep saying AW is dying, are we talking about AW or AWE? Because they are not the same thing.

I see EU1 full all the time, occasionally less so during the week, so much so I cannot get online on those occasions I want to hop on (fair enough as well).

If this is aboue AWE, shouldn't this be in the AWE forum as this seems to be where all this hubub is kicking off from, and by the sounds of it those who do not play there are better off for it.

I've never played AWE, have a great time on AW public servers and plug the community/servers wherever I can, nor have I ever seen the level of issues you all seem to have, so I guess staying on the fringes has it's benefits.
