I haven't even noticed that thingy, I swear!   I needed to watch 3 times to see that Darter is between my cockpit and top side of the wing. I'd say we are sharing intimate air-space there. Now, Imagine it was pink or purple Buzzard... It would be majestically Fly-by then.

Hi people! I see the exile server hasnt been getting much attention recently and hadnt been updated for a while. Muckduck did his best to update the server to the newest version however he had many problems and couldnt help much more. Is there someone working on it atm? @PERO We have yet to try that. It changed while we tested something with @Christiansen. Previously we've voted for regular and it had 3rd person.

I like playing some games in 3rd person. And it feels great. Regarding ARMA3 I feel this game should be only first person. 3rd person kills the gameplay for me. Staying in 1st person you learn about your distances around you, you start to be more cautious. I don't know how to describe it. Every corner is your death path.
Me personally, I don't feel any discomfort playing in first person only. It gives me even more enjoyable experience which I've already get used to. The only problem my "alt" key is being pushed way too much. Watching corners feels more real to me. I can have 3rd person near Arsenal box to watch how beautifully I'll die in combat.

We even have gestures system, we are not using them at all. Because we don't pay attention to other players at all. We just keep our heads down and await for something to happen so we can witness it.
I feel we are are beginning to get soft in certain aspects.

I've noticed an increase in Hotmic's related to Voice Activation and the people who use it.

Personally, I find the sound of people chewing crisps through a microphone to be unpleasant, in the same sense, if not scale, as nails on a chalkboard.

Moreover, many people on Voice Activation, perhaps unintentionally, contribute to disorder on EU#3. I'd think anyone who ever ran Platt. Com. will have had issues with contagious laughing and joking around.

I believe this might be curbed by forcing PTT on all users in the EU#3 TS Channels; therefore this post.

I expect this will be a controversial issue. Post your thoughts below.

Arma3 is my first in ArmaWorld. I've bought the game and it always seemed difficult to control and I stayed away from Arma franchize. I entered the lobby and searched for lowest ping. EU#2 (Stratis back then) was the one. I joined. Fell in love with the game and community of players on EU#2. Everybody was helpful. We were like 10 players max on that island so I was really hooked with teamplay and wanted something on larger scale.
I came from Planetside2 (my outfit, couldn't hide my tears when I left them because of Arma3) where we were commanding 40 troops in outfit at friday nights. I wanted more. Joined EU#1 and immidiately went off because of some cowboys and all TKs on that server. For half of a month I was on JSOC servers and really enjoyed the organisation they were having.
Next thing I've done is register to AhoyWorld forums. Found out about EU#3. Saw the mods... After spending half of year on Skyrim and modding I've said to myself: "Nah I ain't modding anything anymore". Play the game and move on. But the flame inside me has burned my decision in dust and recalled all the immersive plays from Skyrim (Yes, I was blacksmith in Skyrim).

I really enjoyed the run till now on AhoyWorld servers.

Next paragraph:  EU#3 Day One: The recruitment

I've Installed the mods for EU#3, joined the server. I've never felt so lost. Heard in background: "We have new recruit here, .... your turn now H2K". He didn't want to explain me anything so CMD (I think it was @leo) approached me: "Welcome to AhoyWorld EU#3 server, have you read the rules" on which I responded: "I have read three times the ones on TS3 channel room while I was downloading mods". CMD replied: "Enought for me, suit up and we need to move, you have 10 seconds." Because I was so lost1x I've entered in arsenal and just picked a m16, without any optics, 3 default mags and one in the rifle. CMD dedicated Nicolai so I can stick to him and learn all the basics on the move. The map was Fallujah. We were moving in convoy with two MRAPs. I was so lost2x I didn't even know where I am, how to use compass, what am I doing here or anything. While middle in the streets of Fallujah I've just heard someone yelling with furious voice from MRAP: "Disembark now!" While we went off gunner on .50 cal has started shooting. Suddenly I haven't heard anything, just pitching sound in my ears. Was so disoriented. The light from flashing .50 cal went even bigger. I looked back and MRAP was in flames. Completely destroyed. After 30 sec standing in the corner behind palm tree, my ears have started picking up soundstage from environment again. I've picked up the name leo laying on the ground, not moving. Nicolai wasn't nowhere on sight. Medic (I think it was @ShadowKnight but maybe also one guy who isn't on EU#3 anymore) approached me and started yelling : "Plant1ng are you okay?". I could barely hear him so I instinctivly yelled on my mic that I'm okay just couldn't hear clearly. After that all went blurry. I heard in background with all the noise around me : "CMD is down we need instructions." Still unaware where I am I've decided to cross the street. Fell down the ground. Next thing, someone is dragging me. All I could see from that eliptical shape tunnel was probably the same palm tree in the corner where I was previously moving from. Heard familiar voice in background who asked me earlier if I was okay. Now he's speaking in more scarried and hurried voice I've ever hear: "Oh my God Plant1ng. You are so f*cked up. I don't know if you will make it. Hang on there pal." Next seconds the camera moved and I could see everything but frozen like a picture.
Respawned at base. Disconnected from the server. I've realized that my mouth is still opened.

Just to put into perspective, when I slot for an engineer this is my kitbag loadout: 1x satchel, 1x toolkit, 1x wirecutter. I put one demo block inside my west and that is it. That way I can repair, cut fences, blow up radio or destroy UAV or Heli... enought for two AOs, probably yes.
If creating designated loadouts for every team is difficult maybe we should have forum post with all weapons and how many of something to carry around. Like a cheat sheet for medic but for designated roles.

I like idea of us carrying all the same uniform. I agree that ingame MARPAT looks awful, but maybe some guys like it.
@Caboose was a guy who was enforcing having all the same uniform. And guess what, nobody complained. He was rather shocked the other day he was TLing and his team came to him and ask him which uniform he wants them to carry. So yeah, that is the spirit of EU#3 players. We want to play as a team.

Was having also conversation with @Amantes about using Combat Life Saver and moving it with a team. Yeah that should work. We can also test it, if it donesn't work... well we just go back to our old SL+Medic stuff.

    Edit:
    @Amantes:
Like you've said, riflemen shouldn't even carry backpacks. But that all depends on the mission and if we want to play a 4 AO on the fly, Logistics and such.
Ladders are really buggy. First if you want to go over the wall, like if you are climbing the ladder on some of the buildings you are exposing whole body over the horizon. You need a second ladder for other side. Some buildings even don't have solid roof. it looks like they have but when you go on them you completely fall inside that non accessible building and eventually die. You really need to deploy them correctly.

-reply to mine 1.3; Don't get shot . I'm lucky one that scavenges ammo from fallen comrades. I hate them when they are all carry hk416 rounds and not m4s.
-1.4 addon: one thing that a lot of MAT missile specialist are doing wrong. When MAT missile specialist fires a rocket, first thing to do is "kiss" the ground. You are becoming a primary target for any EV or EI inside AO. MAT SL should be in close proximity to you and inform you about next possible EV contact or EI in vicinity. MAT missile specialist is the only guy who shouldn't watch the fireworks. And yet everybody likes to play as a MAT. I still don't get it why.
-1.5 Try throwing smoke on EV, Start sneaking to it. Try dropping smoke infront of enemy MMG gunner. Start going prone in front of him. See what happens.

The part of throwing your backpack you understood completely wrong. Maybe in movie there's isn't a scene when they pick their gear up again. You won't go into CQC fight with 100lbs on your back. You will dispose your equipment in safe place. Finish CQC and come back for your equipment. Since running and resting still doesn't work like a real thing you can actually carry 60 kg on you of equipment and preform just short breaks here and there without actually endangering any of your mission or your team. Finishing the mission successfully without any casualties is the most important part.

I'm ashamed if they see Cowboys riding Heavy machinery or flying around base and fooling around. I as community member should support and help new players and guide them as I was guided when I've joined for the first time. On EU#3 you don't play just for yourself, you play for the team. If new players see they can do what others are doing, they will do exactly the same. If a player wants to drive a tank or fly a helicopter or preform stunts without breaking the rules, There's always editor with the same maps we are playing on so player can test his abilities. If a player has any questions regarding anything, there will always be a player who can show him around and how to interact with equipment and sorroundings.

@Josh you've hit center. Love the topic. For me, everything immersive is an eyegasm and music to my ears.

1.1. Rifleman by default in US army corps carries 6 magazines. It depends on the mission if he needs more or "carryall".
1.2. I dislike when TLs, and riflemen carry m136 variants around. Don't get me wrong but that is also special purpose weaponry.
1.3. None of assets should carry morphine, atropine or epinephrine in their medic stuff. It's a really strong drug and if we have even more advanced medical system (fingers xcrossed and hopes for that day). that things could cause heart attack. Right treatment should be provided by experienced medics on the field. I mean I'm running in almost red bar and I can take epinephrine without causing any harm to my health.
1.4. Limit MAT of carrying many rockets... well they can wipe all AO. No fun in that. No tactical approach. Introduce more tanks so they need to choose which will be golden luckies of staying alive, till logi team brings them more rockets.
1.5. I've seen guys carrying rainbow of smoke grenades. Only TLs,SLs or PT engineer should carry various colors of smoke grenades.Riflemen - white smoke only. Officer shouldn't use smoke grenades at all, neither anything droppable... That means he is in CQB. He is in a wrong place.

2.1. For immersive plays I've changed that blinking white light to blurry the screen because that is more realistic one. Heart pumping blood in my eyes and pressure in my head from running or panicking if I get shot or dodged bullet or explosion. Even high pressure heart ticking should be nice when you are out of breath, remove that green bar on bottom left corner. Assets would take proper breaks all the time.
2.2. Better audio breathing. You know when you run and then you are taking breath in short repetitions and suddenly even breathing gets hard and you stop breathing for a moment. Then you hear your heart pumping. Soundstage becomes dubbed. You can't hear sorroundings clearly.
Show me a player on EU#3 server who would go all Rambo mode then.

    Enable Elite-only mode
Modify trigger so penalty on running is more expressed.
US army corps: 40lbs -150lbs (cca.18kgs - 68kgs) depending on missions. I don't see anytime soon going into combat leaving behind our backpacks and equipment in temporary F.O.B. Saving private Ryan Pay attention on what Cpt. Miller is doing.

And my vote goes to... none. Whoever is creating loadouts.... good luck with that one. You will have to brainstorm really good to create universal loadout. Or just read this but only for reference. I'd like to create it and I'll still enjoy in creating it but I'm still lacking scripting technique.

I've changed multiple uniforms, multiple type of vests, multiple helmets, various misc items. Now everything feels empty. I came back to MTP camo, to my trusty m4 with 7 mags, 2 grenades, 2 concussion grenades, 2 smoke, sig 226 with only one spare mag and I still weight below 20 kgs. And I rung ACOG or holosight without that 3x zoom. If it's daytime i choose acog if it's night I make sure i go in CQB. I was in love with HK417 16inch. She was a stunner once. But the sound of m4 or m16 just tickles my ears.

On the subject of loadouts and what regular grunts should and should not be bringing, it may be worth mentioning that I've never seen people in leadership roles, myself included, ask for any special tools to be brought.

I've had the thought on occasion. You know, looking over a mission, and deciding you wanna breach a compound wall using a collapsible ladder, and then figuring out who is gonna bring that.

This is a major reason why I personally have all non-specialty loadouts not using a backpack, so that leadership can decide that someone in Bravo needs to bring a ladder, or whatever other macguffin, and that I can then voulenteer for the job.

I've never actually been in a situation where it was needed or made any sort of sense though. I'm still hoping it will happen.

I'd like to keep Arsenal in.

I usually spend the wait checking out what everyone else is bringing, and I often "correct" people's loadouts when I see weapons, scopes or launchers that should not be present. I've never had anyone not accept my correction, actually.

That said, I am sure everyone who's ever been on EU#3 have, at one point or another, heard me nag on about how far too many people are using backpacks for basic roles, carrying too much ammo and medical gear, etc.

Sometimes I check dead bodies. Yes.

Despite this, I'd much rather see some sort of target weights for different roles. Medical gear does not weigh much, granted, but I believe that's more of a mentality issue than anything else.

Moreover, I'd love to see some of the ammo selections removed. Nothing sucks more than running over to what you think is a dead guy's M4, only to find he packed an ammo type that doesn't work in your HK416, or vice versa.

This comes from a guy who once got last-man'ed on the Villa roof in Zargabad, with an M249 and 40+ enemies closing in. Please limit ammo to the types that work in all the weapons.

    Hey Lex,

    1. Enter Setup Room subchannel of teamspeak on EU#3.
    2. When you enter the EU#3 server, you should hear TS3 saying Channel Switch with that TFAR high pitch sound.
add. info 1: Default loadout should give you RF-7800S-TR with radio microprogrammer.
    3. Default keybinding for calling radio on screen is CTRL+P.
add. info 2: Pressing J will show you in top right corner which squad you have joined. (This is note for me personally since I forget sometimes where I joined, lel)
    4. Adjust frequency according to radio frequency tab provided on left side for your squad. Highlight frequency and anter new one. Last, press ENT.
    5. Do a radio check pressing Caps Lock with someone from your squad.

If this procedure does not work then we'll have fun in Windows OS finding plugins, userconfig.

I'm not asking about your device configuration since I can hear you just fine on teamspeak3 client in every other room.

Teamviewer is a no go because I don't know what will happen when you give permission to your PC when you start up the game. I don't want to find out.

So here i'm just going to leave some tips and tricks for those of you who are thinking on using vehicles a bit more and are possibly considering getting into the play of using Mechanized Assaults to help infantry cross large open terrains without getting shot in their everything.

Let's quickly talk over each crew member and some common orders:

Note that only the MBT's use a crew of 4 while IFV's use 3 and most APC's use 2.

    Crew

The commander: The commander is in charge of the tank and basically the man of the house; he tells the driver where to go, gives the gunner targets and instructs the loader what shell to load (although the gunner loads shell in Arma 3). It is considered to be the most difficult position in the tank as he has to manage not only the tank, but also incoming radio calls, so expect a lengthier pause between radio calls, especially in combat. Most vehicles provide commanders with smoke launchers to conceal the tank from incoming fire and shells and can also lay down smokes on the move for infantry to use as they move along. In addition the commander gets a wide array of optics such as night vision and thermal.

The gunner: All in the name, the gunner is the guy who shoots stuff with a wide array of weaponry, this can consist of: Main cannons from 20mm all the way to 120+mm, co-axial machine gun, TOW/Stinger launcher. The gunner also has the ability to use different optics such as night vision and thermal.

The driver: The driver is the guy that gets you from point A to B, he should have a good mind for maneuvers and know what most of them are. Don't worry if you don't know them, we will be going over some of them later on!

The loader: This is simple. He loads the gun (or atleast faster in arma 3 than the gunner), he acts as an extra pair of eyes for the commander/gunner/driver and can sometimes utilize a machine gun mounted on the roof of the tank either manually or through a computer.

    Here's some common orders:

Orders the VC will often say to all the crew:

"Turn in! / Button up!" The crew turns in and closes their hatches to avoid taking small arms fire.
"Keep your head on a swivel / Keep scanning" The crew will keep checking their sectors, often done in close areas although the same can be said for large open plains.
"GET OUT! / BAIL! - The crew needs to get out the vehicle and run like hell! This is done if the engine or hull goes red, meaning a vehicle cook off is imminent. Is sometimes done if the track is blown off although sometimes it is better to stay inside, usually if the tank has hit a mine or taken a RPG to the track, better to stay inside and investigate before bailing out.

Orders the VC can give the driver:

"Driver forward" The driver press "W" and goes forward at normal speed.
"Driver forward slow/fast" The driver press "Q" for slow and "Shift+W" for fast.
"Driver forward five meters" The driver moves the vehicle forward 5 meters.
"Driver slow down" The driver slows the speed down.
"Driver increase speed" The driver increases the speed.
"Driver keep speed thirty" The driver increases/decreases the speed to said speed.
"Driver reverse" The driver press "S" and reverse the vehicle.
"Driver reverse ten meters" The driver reverse 10 meters.
"Driver left, left, left, left correct" The driver press "A" and keeps turning the vehicle left until he hears "correct".
"Driver forty five degrees left" The driver turns the vehicle roughly 45 degrees left.
"Driver right, right, right, correct" The driver press "D" and keeps turning the vehicle left until he hears "correct".
"Driver forty five degrees right" The driver turns the vehicle roughly 45 degrees right.
"Driver orientate two eight zero" The driver looks at the bearings and adjusts the vehicle to said bearings.
"Driver do one eighty" The driver turns the vehicle 180 degrees.
"Driver slow to halt" The driver stops the vehicle gently.
"Driver halt" The driver stops the vehicle as fast as he can.

Orders the Gunner can give the driver:

    "Driver forward"
    "Driver forward slow"
    "Driver forward five meters"
    "Driver reverse"
    "Driver reverse three meters"
    "Driver slow to halt"
    "Driver halt"

Orders the VC can give the gunner is:

"Gunner load AP" The gunner loads corresponding armor piercing ammunition.
"Gunner load high explosive" The gunner loads corresponding high explosive ammunition.
"Gunner switch MG" The Gunner switch to the machine gun as the selected weapon.
"Gunner switch Cannon" The Gunner switch to the cannon as the selected weapon.
"Gunner switch GMG" The Gunner switch to the grenade machine gun as the selected weapon.
"Gunner orientate two five zero" The gunner turns the turret to bearing 250.
"Gunner fire" The gunner fires on the target he is currently looking at or searching for.
"Gunner weapons free" The gunner is free to engage any identified targets.
"Gunner hold fire" The gunner holds fire.
"Gunner contact bearing zero one zero, enemy APC, range three hundred, fire" The gunner turns the turret while switching to the cannon, loads corresponding armor piercing ammunition, zero his gun to 300 meters, reports contact spotted and starts to engage the contact.
"Gunner up, up, up, down" The gunner elevates/decrease his gun elevation in the direction he is told until he spots what the VC wants him to spot. ones spotted the gunner reports it to the VC.
"Gunner left, left, left, right" the gunner turns the turret in the direction he is told until he spots what the VC wants him to spot. ones spotted the gunner reports it to the VC.

It's vitally important to work together as a team. Good crew members who are not communicating will result in a dead vehicle!

    Ammo

The list of most common ammunition types:
APFSDS: Armour Piercing Fin Stabilized Discarding Sabot. Often called “sabot” or “AP”. Basically has the best penetration for almost all ranges, except extreme ranges. It's penetrating power comes from the extreme velocity it is fired. Note that it can over pen light vehicles although in Arma this does not matter very much.

HEAT: High Explosive Anti Tank. A big shell that explodes shortly after penetrating a target. Very good against soft to medium armoured targets. Has no drop off in penetration and is used for extreme ranges.
HE: High Explosive. Explodes on impact and has almost no penetration power. Cheaper than other ammo types and very effective against light armour and infantry. Does not bounce.

Note: if an ammo type is followed by ”-T” (like: “APFSDS-T), it means that the shell act's as a tracer and gives a light trail when fired (same effect as rifle tracers).

    Armour and countermeasures

In this section, I'll cover the different types of armor and other measures taken to protect a tank. I'll start with armor:

Steel armor: This type of armor isn't in use anymore but I thought I would mention it because it was the main type of armor during WWII. Just a steel plate and nothing more. Composite armor: The main armor used on modern MBT's. Its designed to have higher armor values then steel by having less weight. This is why a T-90 is way better protected then a Tiger, despite having a lower weight. It can consist of a lot of materials, but aluminium and titanium are widely used. Depleted Uranium armor: Very strong armor made out of depleted uranium, something you get as garbage product from enriching uranium. The only tank that I know it's being used on is the Abrams. A tank is never made entirely from this armor due to the extreme weight it has. Chobham armor: This is believed to be the best armor in the world, only used on the American Abrams and the British Challenger. Almost nothing is known about this, but it is believed to be some sort of ceramic armor. Other protective measures:
ERA: explosive reactive armor: a slap-on armor plate that consists of cubes that explode outwards when hit. This will decrease the penetrating power of the shell or missile. Once hit the cube is destroyed and not more usable. Smoke launcher: Most modern tanks are equipped with smoke launchers. These launchers will fire off projectiles that produces smoke to give a full 360 smoke screen around the tank. Some tanks can also generate smoke by injecting chemicals in the engine. APS: active protection system: A system that detects incoming missiles and shoot those down. Not common on tanks and the only in front line use tank that uses it is the Merkava mk4. Basic Vehicle Tactics

First of all is the positioning of the vehicle. Positioning a vehicle is the most important thing you can do in battle, poor positioning leads to death. Always try to keep a range from the target so have time to; target, identify, call it in, range, engage

Also it's always advisible to turn the front of the tank towards the enemy (I know, but some people I see do not do this in times when they can). Some more advanced positioning tactics are:

Hulling down: this means only exposing the turret by covering the hull with a rock or crest.

Sidescraping: A tactic that allows you to peek corners without the risk of taking heavy damage.

Also remember, be mindful of where you are going to be sidescraping, make sure that your flanks are secure and do not put yourself in a situation where you will end up reversing into someones clothes store and getting stuck if you need to escape the area.

    Maneuvers

Bounding maneuvers are incredibly useful to move around open spaces without exposing your flanks, these are done when 2 or more vehicles are present.

Herringbone: Herringbone formations are great when you want to look to either side of, say, a road, allowing two vehicles to watch either side and act as buddy's for eachother.

Coil: Coil Formations, like Herringbone, is designed to get the front of the vehicles to look at certain areas only this time, to look in all directions. Best use for this is when you must hold an open plain area where you may be attacked from all directions.

Peeling: Peel maneuvers are used when contact is spotted in front and 1 vehicle must move into a better position, or both vehicles need to leave the area to get to a more efficient area. To do this, the vehicle that is on the far side of the direction your or moving will stay, while the furthest away will reverse, turn to the correct heading then move to the left or right of the vehicle at the far end of the column. Vise versa and you will eventually find that a platoon of vehicles in a line formation suddenly shifted 300m to the right without taking RPG's. Remember, slow is smooth and smooth is fast, never move all at once if you run the risk of exposing your flanks to the enemy, the last thing you want is an armada of RPG's flying towards each vehicles side.

Shoot and scoot: Shooting and scooting is simple, you move to cover, fire, then move again. This is used when dealing with multiple enemy vehicles, or suppressing RPG's teams that are danger close.

Firing on the move: This maneuver is done when there is multiple contacts with anti armor weapons or if there are armored vehicles present. It is also useful to note that doing this in a confined area WILL NOT WORK, so don't bother. Basically, the vehicle will maintain a steady speed but try to stay fast, so the gunner can efficiently knock out targets without running the risk of the gun bouncing up and down too much for him.

Falling into a line formation: This is used when a platoon of vehicles travelling along has been ambushed. To do this, the platoon sergeant or whoever is in charge of all the vehicles will order the vehicles to reverse away and point their fronts to the enemy.

Jumping out: This is often done when a column formation has been called in to decrease the chances of multiple vehicles being destroyed from the front but the vehicles must "jump out" into a line or wedge to get all guns on targets to the front.

That's all the maneuvers i'm going to say for now, maybe someone else can say some they know in the comments?

    Driving through a confined area/town

Situations like this can and will happen and it is best to know how to handle it as it can be one of the hardest situations to deal with. A close confined space for a vehicle is never good, it will not perform as it's best and is extremely vulnerable to being swarmed or flank shot. Therefore, you will want to keep eyes everywhere you can so utilize your crew. A good tactic is to have your driver focusing front, as that is where he is going, have your gunner focus left and the commander focus right. If you have a loader available, have him focus where the gunner is looking so he can assist in calling out targets as it is much harder for a gunner to see.

The formation infantry should take in a town:

A Slammer covers infantry as they cross a road:

A Slammer neutralizes enemy's in a building as infantry take cover:

PLEASE NOTE: If you are doing this, stay at a slow speed! 10-20km/h is where you want to be at, rushing through a town is not good as you run the risk of missing an alley way, being immobilized by someone in the next alleyway and having a guy at the alleyway you just ran by, shoot you in the ass. Besides, infantry support can only jog at a steady pace of about 10+km/h so keeping slow is where it's at, don't make em sprint, just because you don't get tired doesn't mean they don't too.

    Mechanized Warfare tactics

Okay, now that you know how most vehicles work in a basic sense, lets look a little more in depth. Infantry grunts! Pay attention, some of this involves you too.

    Using the Bradley as transport

Okay, so you need a ride to the AO in the back of a Bradley, well it has seats so that's good but lets talk about correct tactics and etiquette when in using these.
Inform the commander on radio that you wish to use the vehicle and if possible, wave to him from the front of the vehicle to make him known of your presence. Failure to do things like this may end getting you squished if the Bradley needs to reverse. Keep chatter to a minimum please! The vehicle crew needs to talk a lot more than you do, especially in a combat zone so try to keep chatter to a minimum. GO GO GO! Okay, so your here and the commander has ordered you to disembark, like a helicopter, perform security to the vehicle BUT keep to both sides of the vehicle and try to keep the rear and definitely the front clear. Using the Bradley for support
If you need ammo, the Bradley will most likely have it if you are using standard issue weapons for US militants. HOWEVER, like requesting a ride, please try to inform on radio to the Bradley and/or run in front and give it a wave or wiggle, this informs the crew and reduces risk of being ran over if the Bradley must reverse. Open field with no cover huh, oh look, a Bradley, DON'T BE SHY! The Bradley is not only there to "steal all the fun", it is also there to assist you in other ways. Remember to call the Bradley on radio and see if it is possible for a "rolling cover" support. More often than not, this is easily available and you can use the Bradley as cover to get across a field without taking any or too many casualties or taking 30 minutes to cross 1 of 5 open fields.
IFV's are also great battering rams! Utilize that:

    Infantry Support

Infantry support is DEADLY useful, especially in close confined areas. This is simple, stick with the vehicle as it moves through a town or takes up a position in say a village or something and make sure it doesn't get flanked. Without infantry support in a town, the vehicle is most likely going to be a coffin on tracks waiting to be hit.

Here's an example of a common ambush position against vehicles:

Remember to keep your armor pieces safe, these kind of areas are extremely dangerous as you an quickly be attacked from all directions in a close confined space, something a vehicle CANNOT deal with without infantry support.

NOTE!: If you are following along side a vehicle, stay clear of it's front and try not to cross a road from the front, the last thing you want is to be clipped by its guns or take a shot to the leg and be squashed by a track. In addition, if it is a MBT, stay clear of it's front completely as the main armament's shockwave upon firing is enough to knock you out or kill you.
