    I`ve thought in which section should I post this, here should be the best.
     
    I`ve decided to step down from the role of an admin to a regular member/player, purely out of personal reasons. I`ll drop all the boring details behind this decision, the only thing I`ll add is, it has not been made over-night.
     
    I`ve had a lot of fun, I`ve met a lot of new people, a lot of great people. I want to thank Staff (new and old - yes, you Raz) for giving me a chance to contribute to the community, be a part of its leadership. I hope we`ve all learned things together, in good or bad times, and I have no regrets.
     
    I`ll stay around, just as a regular player and user.

    From what I hear, people are in need of a new I&A server as they are filing up fast and it would make sense to have a Tanoa I&A server, hell, I'd probably play a couple sesh's on that.
     
    I myself can't really think of any other server's to use, I know that a lot of servers in the past (life, DayZ Standalone, squad etc) only lasted a couple of months at most so I don't think there would be much of a point on that front. It's definitively a funny one trying to figure out a game or game mode that would be enjoyable for the community and preferably last longer than a fish's memory. I'll probably lurk around on this thread and see what people think, see if I have anything to add at a later date.

    Lets start feedback on new web and forums. Bare in mind I try to provide only my opinion and constructive criticism (I am really critical, sorry for that).
    I know the stuff is still WIP, but feedback might be welcomed. If not, just remove this.
     
    My opinion is both web and forums are downgrade from what we had on the functional side of things.Reasons:
    Web:
    *On old web I could just open the side and quickly scroll to see info about all the servers and TS. Now it takes longer and it is more distracting. Please move arma and TS server info to the top.
    *Honestly I hate the new "shiny" web designs that are so popular currently. Not functional enough for me.
     
    Web bugs:
    *EU3 page (main) has no text (except "EU3" heading.
    *EU3/What is EU3 bottom link bar is not stuck to bottom of screen (as it is on the other pages).
     
    Forums:
    *I find them much more distracting and harder to read than the old one. Too much spacing between everything.
    *Might be the font as well.
    *Category headings are fully transparent. I would recommend make them colored and about 50% transparent or even not transparent at all.
    *Same with new/no new icon notification. It is hard to see. Give it some color.
    *The dark heading of each posts splits the topic too much, it is annoying and makes it harder to read post by post.
    *Would be nice if "Like it" button fitted bottom of the post independently of the post lengths. Now if the post is too short, "Like it" is somewhere in the middle of the post.
    *List of topics - too large spacing. Even on large monitor pinned EU3 stuff takes whole page and I have to scroll as maniac to get to even new posts.
    *Lining of posts could be smaller. Again posts are too large if they have multiple lines. No need for 1,5 paragraphs.
    *Could we get edit button on top of the post not the bottom? Writing this I found it is pain in the ass having to scroll whole longpost just to open editor and scroll again.
     
    Forum bugs:
    *Cannot reply to News & Events topics.
    *Seen white bar overflowing to right side over the picture. Cannot find the post now (lost it somewhere), will provide a link when I do.
    *Profile/Community reputation/Status Replies takes me to blank page.
    *User avatars decided to hide for me just now. See only text variant (aka username twice).

    My name is LexMonster. My RL name is Alex. You can call me Lex. Most people do.
    I just  joined the community serveral days ago.
    I live in Austria. Yea that small state next to Germany.
    My native tounge is German but i had like 10 years worth of english classes so my english is pretty much as good as my german.
    I am just 17 years old and am still in school. At least for the next 6 weeks. After that i am done for good.
    I play Arma since Arma 2 came out and clock in at arround 400h in ArmA 3 alone.
    I mostly play on the I&A server EU#2 and there i am either UAV or Pilot (when possible).

    Voice Radio Procedure

    Phonetic Alphabet
    When communicating over the radio you must always use the phonetic alphabet.
     


    For example, if I wanted Charlie squad to engage grid B1 marked on the map I would say
    "Charlie this is Delta 0, you are to push South and engage grid Bravo 1, how copy?".


    Key Phrases
    Phrases/terms to remember and use.

    Roger: Message received and understood.

    Over: Transmission finished, reply expected (short for "Over to you").

    Out: Transmission finished - no reply expected. For example "Copy that Delta, we will engage the target. Out." Note: only the sender should terminate traffic with “Out”.

    Wilco: Your message is understood and we Will Comply (usually combined with Roger: "Roger, Wilco").

    Confirm: Indicate whether a message has been understood or that a sent message has been understood correctly. For example:
    "Stalker 1, confirm coordinates are 045,091 ?"

    How Copy: Ask receiver if message was received and understood correctly. Correct responce would be Solid Copy (if heard and understood correctly) or Bad Copy (if not heard correctly or not understood).

    Repeat Last: Ask receiver to repeat last transmission.

    Standby for orders: Await further orders, usually shortened to Standby.

    Affirmative: Yes (sometimes abbreviated to Affirm).

    Negative: No

    Zero: The highest rank at a location within a squad/section. For example Delta squad's commander would be "Delta Zero". If I wanted to speak to Delta's commander I would say
    "Delta Zero this is Charlie Zero, confirm we are to push South and engage grid Bravo 1?"

    Locstat: Location at the current time. Usually when a callsign is moving. e.g. "Send locstat, over".

    Sitrep: Situation Report = how you are getting on with an assigned task or the state of your unit.

    Redeploy: (Vehicle) Move to a different location. When given with a grid or location, it is effectively a move order.

    CAS: Close Air Support. For example "This is Charlie to Stalker 1, requesting CAS on grid 041,048, how copy?"

    CasEvac: Casualty Evacuation.

    FAC: Forward Air Controller. A designated marine within a section/squad that will act as the middleman for sending traffic between air and ground.


    CLAP
    When using a radio, remember the mnemonic CLAP:

    CLEAR
    LOUD
    AS an order with 
    PAUSES

    That is how all of your messages should be spoken. Don't shout or swear. Don't talk when someone else is talking - wait for them to finish, including any response they are expecting. 

    All spellings should be spoken using the phonetic alphabet.

    All numbers should be spoken as digits (i.e. two one, not twenty one).

    All callsigns should be spoken as digits and phonetics.

    Do not use the radio for chatting. Use DIRECT for this purpose.

    Marines will be issued with a PRC 343 radio for squad-to-squad communication. Section Commanders, Fireteam Leaders and Forward Air Controllers will be issued with a PRC 117/119 long range radio.

    The mission for this Team vs Team night will be Operation Whirlwind, a new mission set on the Proving Grounds map of CUP Terrains.  It is a sector control mission.
     
    SIGN UP HERE
     
    BLUFOR is US Marines, OPFOR is Russian Spetsnaz.  Both teams have access to basic vehicles and one armored vehicle: for BLUFOR it's a LAV-25, for OPFOR it's a BTR-70.
     
    Each team has 100 tickets.  There are four sectors to control.  Each time a player dies, their team loses a ticket.  Taking a sector restores 10 tickets.  The teams begin locked in their base; they have two minutes to prepare a plan, after which point barricades are removed, and they have 30 minutes to win the mission.
     
    If all four sectors are taken by one side, the mission is over; if either side loses all its tickets, the mission is over; if the timer reaches 0, the mission is over.

    So Soziop4th wanted a bug report from me in a formatted manner, capable for him to read. Let's just say that's kind of hard with the general quality of this mission, it's fantastic. The only bug thing I kind of found was the suspension on the transport we were given first. But i'm sure everyone knows of that one and its mod side, nothing to do with the mission. Some of the classes didn't contain ear plugs, which would had be nice to mute out the sound of the machine gun next to me.... Also the assistant automatic rifleman could use a little more body armour, like seriously he was going into battle with a sweat shirt.

    Hello, so as some of you may be aware, we are now in British Summer Time. That means we are 1 hour ahead of GMT. So when planning gamenight times / turning upto gamenights be aware of this. Turing up an hour early is good however...
    (Posting this due to my recent gamenight with people turing up early and Mr Collider gamenight meaning to be at 8:00 BST I believe.)

    Hello all, we will be playing the most upto version of Gauntlet for this gamenight. This Gamenight will sevre two purposes 1 to get people onto EU3 at a designed time so we can have a large force in play and 2 to allow new people to EU3 to squad up with experienced members and learn.
     
    So if you've been wanting to try out EU3, or just have any questions, this gamenigt will hopefully allow you to have them answered.
    There is the question of do you want training on the sign up form, if you select this then you will be put with experienced members of EU3 in order for you to be able to learn well playing.

    The roles are either leadership or for vehicles, if I've forgot something crucial please comment with the role you would prefer.
     
    Arsenal will be allowed, along with join in progress. Sign up is key for those who want to take charge. Respawning is allowed, however units can only be deployed to the area of operation in waves, subject to commands approval. This is to simulate a re-enforcement system/to get rid of vortex transporting one guy.
     
    Normal game night rules apply, if you can’t cope with waiting to get back into the area of operations or planning please to not join.

    Hello, so I thought I would weigh in with my opinions on the idea of the stepping stone sever. This basically being from my understanding eu1/eu2 with acre and ace, running the Invade and Annex mission file. Through having these two modules implemented, arguably the most noticeable changes from the non-moded severs to moded severs. I believe this would be a great idea, as it offers the players who play daily on eu1 and eu2 a more in-depth and rewarding experience, without the seriousness and set up of eu3. I notice regularly when i'm on that the eu1 channels have more than 10 players on, and without the radio channels of acre this would seem like a cluster situation when trying to communicate. This implementation would stop this.
     
      From zissou's post there are regularly 420 people who roughly connect to eu1 each day ( can't remember the exact numbers) thus this wouldn't hurt the amount of people playing on that sever. With the argument that this sever would take away from the eu3 player base, this simply isn't true, the players this sever would serve wouldn't play on eu3 in the first place, the would stick to eu1/2 without this sever.
     
       However this being a stepping stone sever may have the affect of these players then moving onto eu3 once they get use to the systems and the more serious nature of gameplay which acre and ace implement into the sever. This does affect eu3, but only through providing the opertunity for people to eventually come over, therefore it's a positive affect.
     
      People have mentioned who would set up this sever, pay for it, admin it etc... this isn't suppose to be set in stone yet, this is the ideas box after all, meant for people to give across ideas for improving the community experience and gameplay opportunities throughout the sever. These questions can be worked out once the idea is agreed on fully by the staff of this place. Everyone is also entitled to their thoughts and views on the ideas listed in this section, everyone is part of the same community even if it doesn't affect them, however censorship of peoples ideas should never take place, just because they don't agree with your opinion doesn't mean there wrong.
     
      In the past ahoyworld hasn't been afraid to set up new severs if the support is there for them. Lets look at the recent squad severs or even go back to the excile severs which we had up in the past when that mod was popular. We even had ksp severs at one point which a few members use to play on.
     
      I would also like to get rid of the idea that eu3 is a huge step up for players who regularly play on eu1/eu2. In reality if you are playing on eu1/eu2 in a relativity co-operative manner, such as the zesus gamenights, then the step up isn't huge at all. The gameplay is relatively similar, with the main change being acre and ace. Yes there are weapon and vehicle mods but these are mainly visual. The changes of ACRE and ACE can be learnt in training gamenights which i'll be willing to help in again once exams are over in the summer, hence why i'm away a lot at the moment. The 20 GB of mods can be downloaded overnight, I don't really see the issue here. I know that people don't like overally controlling squad leaders or team leaders who come across as spiteful, but these people shouldn't be part of the eu3 experience, so any problem with people acting elite over being veteran players should be reports.
     
      In conclusion I believe a stepping stone sever would easy the transition for players from eu1 / eu2 to eu3. Through learning acre and ace without the other mods, It may encourage people to then go on and try the full experience of eu3 without the huge step up which is sometimes off-putting to players.
