    Just an FYI these are not the rules.  These are:
     
    Also everyone gets a hint saying what the keybind is for earplugs when joining.  I don't need to tell you how many times people ask for that keybind
     
    Technically: add a killed eventhandler to the pilot, when it triggers check his vehicle & position in the vehicle.  If he's the pilot of a heli or airplane add x to counter y.  If counter y is greater than z kick or force back to the lobby.  Also add a mechanic to keep him out of the slot for a certain amount of time.  I'm thinking profilenamespace variable.  
    So yea, it's possible.

    If friendly choppers keep getting shot down it's time to land further and have AT specs pack AA launchers.  Also if the buzzard gets a reduced respawn timer it's gonna get used for CAS more.

    would something like the tk script work, i mean something crash 3 helis in 10mins or like that and force chance slot for while? and for the jets, i think there should be AA buzard with short respawn time because not that many ppl likes fly it and if hostile enemy jets keep taking down friendly choppers we would have something that helps take them out so they would fly it only because they have to. but for powerful AA jets like wasp should stay at 45min cooldown.

    Dear AW Staff,
     
    I noticed that the punishments on bad flying or to soft or they don't get punished at all.
    here by i bring this question to maybe punish bad pilots way harder.

    For example : yesterday Blake Schiro was a pilot, as i noticed he was taking off with the Orca, he managed to crash the thing just flying 10m further to land on the helipad. After that he left it so i had to ask Lindi to clear that thing off the landing pad.
     
    Minutes later i was refueling my Humming i noticed him jumping in the Buzzard. He starts to accelerate but couldn't figure out how to bank left or right. He stopped right in time before he could crash in a stationed blackfish. He got out and took a Hummingbird.
     
    I was in a Kajman stationed waiting for a gunner. he comes by and says in COMMAND CHANNEL 'I'm an advanced pilot and since you not flying it you better get out so i can use it.'' REMEMBER THESE WORDS After flying it and went on a gunning spree with Daniel i flew to the repair pad to re-arm it. I jumped out as i was about to leave. He jumps in the Kajman takes 2 passengers in the passenger bay without a gunner he flies off not evne landing a the helipad to pick up other people. At that point i said to my group 'Guess how long that kajman is gonna survive.'' I run to my parked Hummingbird i look at the map i don't see him flying. I look at FOB Gaurdian there he is at the Arsenal... 
     
    After that he grabs a Taru (Video Link shows what happened) and just crashes it right into the H-Barriers..
     

    Here he tries to deny that it was his fault.

    I've been long at thought for quite some time now about stepping away and it isn't just from AW, but from many aspects surrounding the gaming community. I've got ongoing IRL issues which really need tackling and where I thought coming into the gaming community (namely Arma 3 & AW) brought me a bit of solace I think it's having more a negative impact than anything. Turns out it was just a temporary escape. Burying heads in the sand is not a good option. 
    I don't want to delve into personal reasons or anything like that, instead I'd rather just say thanks to everyone for the fun I've had being around the AW community specifically.
    @Xwatt and the others involved in giving me the opportunity to become spartan and public mod, I really had a great time in those roles even though it was a brief spell, hopefully I did the roles well enough for you guys. @Lindi for the assistance and added fun during that brief tenure, as well as @itsmemario and @Geb.
     
    The list is far too long to tag everyone in, but for anyone who i've played alongside on AWE over the past two years then know that i've had some of the best times in those sessions, and i'll truly miss it. 
     
    It's been great being part of this community, I wish everyone the best ❤️❤️❤️.

    Ahoy there, mateys! (sorry, terrible pun)
     
    I'm a norwegian closing in on his twenties who's just stopping by to say hi after playing on EU #1 for a few hours, of course after watching a couple of Luetin's videos on YouTube. Ahoy is my first Arma multiplayer experience since buying the game off of Humble Bundle, and I must say I'm enjoying it alot! Arma is by far a better fit for me than games such as Battlefield or Call of Duty, and the Invade and Annex experience is awesome! I've met alot of cool people on EU #1, and I can't wait to play with y'all again!
     
    Oh yes, and I'm really enjoying the editor and the camera function. Way better than the Rockstar Editor of Grand Theft Auto 5!

    It is with a heavy heart that I am officially announcing what will likely be my complete departure from AhoyWorld. As I have mentioned to some, I will be stepping down from the Enhanced moderator team on June 19; this will be paired with an indefinite hiatus from the community as well, though I fully intend to return when I can.
     
    In December of 2017, I enlisted in the United States Navy, with my boot camp date set for June 20th of 2018. After boot, I will be going straight to my respective school, and will likely be deploying after that (this will easily encompass the next 3 years). I will be limiting any computer usage strictly to studying during this period. 
     
    To those members of the Enhanced realm of AhoyWorld reading this now, thank you for being my friends and family. I have tried my best to be a player, a moderator, a teacher, and a counselor; and if nothing else I hope I have succeeded in being another human being that you were always glad to talk to. I have spent a good 1,700 hours on Enhanced alone, and have seen many people come and go. Throughout the three years I've spent racking up those hours, though, my mind has never changed that both the server and AhoyWorld in general are diamonds in the rough that is the rest of the Arma 3 community. Nobody will ever be able to duplicate the truly unique things that you all share. 
     
    I will still be active up until the 19th. I am just making this notice ahead of time so that I have a proper buffer to wrap things up with, and so that I'm not rushing to get a message out right before I have to leave. You'll still see me on Enhanced as often as always, and on TeamSpeak so long as I'm awake.

    I don't really see the need for this mod (apart from the Pawnee), but the licence merely states that you need the creator's permission to use it. Now I don't know about real mod makers, but if I made a mod, I would want people to use it, and if one of the bigger Arma 3 multiplayer projects came around asking if they can use my stuff I'd be more than happy to let them...

    At the moment I see the rewards causing a lot of grief when someone camps the reward.
     
    Problems also arise when a reward vehicle is lost, some player have a tendency to instantly blame an admin / zeus, because naturally mere AI could not kill such a skilled player!

    Amentes is right, we had an instance of a squad camping base until side mission the other day. Which I could have lived with but the squad had a dedicated CAS pilot. That just sat at base in the Orca and later in the rewarded Blackfish gunship untill the next side mission spawned. This went on for a long time despite me repeatedly explaining the importance of providing transport services for the team in the mean time.

    I also agree that laying it all on an admin to take care off with our common sense isn't possible or even fair to the admins. I mean even with the Zeus interface you cannot keep an eye on everyone all of the time.

    The only down side to removing these rewards is the loss of variety and fun in operating something that is a little uncommon. At the present tho the pros of removing the rewards out weight the cons quite a lot in my mind.

    I´m not about the rewards,but who shall stop me when i did the mission,it rewards a KUMA and some random guy just snaps it simply because he could.
    On a side note,ever since the relase of the tank DLC i still havnt had my hands on a Nagara or Nyx - and when i get the chance ... just read above.
    Instant.
    You could also argue that there should be a rule for a maximum flighttime of a pilot for the Wipeout.
    Or add a minute blackscreen for everyone that presses the respawn key.
     
    You see,there s a few options for improvement.
    The abolsut simplest one would be the admin to act up like a admin and just solve the issue at hand by making a desicion by his gut feeling and common sense.
    You dont have to construct all those very,very rare examples to justify the making of a reward script that will only complicate the issue.
    I already gave up on this issue quite some time ago,again i point you at my previous made topics about that issue and my point to it.
    No need for sematics.
    In short,i was raising attention to a easy fix with barely any more work effort involved than solution no2.
    Taaaaadaaaa!

    In this instance there wasn't an admin online, how do we proceed then? you could complete 3 side mission in under an hour not many admins may be present to witness that either, what do we do then?
    I will not task our admins to monitor who does and does not partake in side missions just to find out who is eligible for the rewards, Its just not feasible.
    After all we are there to enjoy ourselves as well. I understand the frustration that things might not go your way but remember, we are not here to detriment peoples experience, it is in fact quite the opposite.
    So rather than bemoan about our admins, why not try to come up with a proper solution like other people here have, not just "gut feeling and common sense"
    Might I suggest we remove the rewards altogether and just concentrate on FOB assets?

    Well,i really wanted to not voice my opinion here,but i just cant :
     
    Propably the first time i totally disagree with your statement here - altho it s a pretty rare occasion your situation turns up as mostly the guys that done the job worked as a team to a certain degree so they sure can figure who of em will use the given asset.
    For the generel "stealing" or "reward area camping" i expect comon sense and a minimum degree for morality from a admin/ZEUS/AW associate and judge/handle the issue that way.Reward the effort people took to complete the mission and dont pull the cheap exit via the "first come,first serve" thing.
    I m not new to this problem,it s existing since Evolution on ArmA 1 and carried on via Domination or any similar mission that offers great stuff for no work effort.
    But,i recall kind of a few admins in my times (even on AW) that did the right thing by default and either locked rewards or exit´d people off em to guarantee people that worked got their benefit.
    Simple,fair,instant.
    No need for that fancy "new reward" script you ve been talking about kind a few times and since quite a few months ... nothing changed.
    You can read up more on my topic that got locked,too.
     
    Spare the work effort and just apply comon sense.
    Thats what i expect from a admin.

    It won't stop someone "stealing" the asset, but it does provide a little time in which to stand next to the guy, making your case in Direct.
     
    Be surprised how reasonable people can be if they're communicating with a voice rather than a text.

    Not a solution, but maybe an improvement:
     
    Spawn all Side Rewards locked, unlock after three minutes.
     
    Should provide enough time for someone to respawn and stake their claim, while not leaving the vehicle unusable if nobody has a claim.

    10+ people go to a side mission, all are involved in the success, there is a group of 3, a group of 2, and 5 individual guys.
     
    Who gets the reward?
     
    Heck you could spawn the reward 20ft away from the side misison, but that tank or attack chopper (for example) can only hold so many, who gets it?
     
    This is why it doesn't work. you just can't police this on a public server, as you can have the argument at a side mission team level, let alone a server level.

    I used to do the following when I was on the server in zeus:
    If a special reward that many people like spawns and I knew who was at the side mission I'd move the reward away from the reward zone to somewhere it can't immediately be found.  If someone from the side mission came looking for it I'd give it to them.  If nobody came looking I'd put it back at the rewards area.  If I didn't know who played the mission or wasn't zeusing I'd say, sorry first come first serve.  

    As far as I know the rule 'first come first serve' is there because it is, in the current system, near impossible to know who has actually done the mission and thus 'deserves' the reward.  Unless of course the moderator/spartan is in zeus and keeping an eye out for such a thing.  If the moderator/spartan was doing a zeus mission he wouldn't know and would have to drop everything to resolve the conflict of who 'deserves' the reward.  Same if he was playing.  It's even worse when there is no spartan or moderator on the server and a moderator is trying to figure this out through the remote moderating tool.  He can't see who played the mission because he isn't even on the server.  And it's the worst when there's no spartan nor moderator around whatsoever. 
     
    A system is being worked on where the people who actually did the mission receive a reward for doing the mission.  But I'm not sure how much I'm allowed to say about that

    No roles are predetermined before the event, however team will be balanced according to player numbers and individual skill/experience. Anyone is welcome to take the Squad Leader role for their team and use their own style of tactics, provided they stick to the rules given at the time. We highly advice that AW members take the role to keep, not only their squad, but also their team in check. Don't be shy, we encourage it!
     
    This post will be updated according to the date of the next event after the previous event has passed.

    Looking at the configs I can tell it requires CBA.  I was looking for if it's a server side mod or if every single client has to have it but couldn't tell.  And seeing how i'm in class no way of testing
     
    A script is always better than a mod, I'm sure that if you find a plug n play script it'll be added.

    Having recently become a spartan for AW, as well as a few others, activity on EU1/2 in terms of Zeus' should be relatively high.
     
    As such, i'd like to know from you guys that play, what is it that you'd like from us to make things more exciting/interesting/generally better for you for either/both:
     
    1) Pre-determined AO's or side missions.
    2) Our own custom made zeus missions.
     
    Try to keep in mind the limitations of Zeus abilities. We're not Dev's ?

    After a lengthy discussion with the I&A development team about the future and direction of EU2, we have decided that the re-introduction of Tanoa is not the direction we want to take, due to various issues and concerns that arised on it's initial release.
     
    We thank everybody for their ideas contributed to this topic, and this is what we like to see, as ultimately the communities desires is the foundation of our development.

    Tanoa had a regular crowd when the MOB was on the large airport on the center island, and with randomized instead of sequenced AO's. Not sure if that was still I&A 2, but things definitely started slipping once the MOB moved to the smaller island airfield southwest.
     
    David once made a bridge connecting a few islands on Tanoa.
     
     
    That would be a relatively easy fix for the mobility issue. To connect all the islands, you probably won't even need an hour to build 2 bridges to connect the main islands, and make it look something like this.
