    In-game name when banned: DEATH
What message displays when you attempt to connect? You are banned permanently. Reason: "Abusive to staff."
Why do you think you were banned? eu#3 server: 3 seconds after "leaving" the arsenal in an all white outfit i was subjected to a plethora of rude words in a rude tone by the player "shadow knight" although i had no intention of leaving the base in that outfit (i never broke any AWE rule and I never played in any outfit not having lvl5 body armor and helmet before losing all aprox 20 outfit saves in the arsenal). Inspite of his rude tone and words i responded calmly without using ANY bad words, reminding him that a helmet is not mandatory, that i am not breaking any rules and that white can be an effective camouflage near building walls, and some rocks on that map. he stepped up the rude tone and words and started making rude threats of ban and his leadership position. I said calmly that leaders are shown at the AO while fighting the enemies and that respect must be won there not by this kind of actions at the arsenal in base. His rudeness continued and later i got a ban message while playing the game , following the rules and being at the AO in a non white lvl5 body armor, playing the autorifleman role i was in, the way i have always played in the AWE servers. That is 100% what happened. Please ask him to present the full unedited recording which will prove NO (zero) bad words from my side and plenty from him and also NO "abusive to staff" anything.
Why (in your personal opinion) should your ban be lifted? The "abusive to staff" reasoned ban is a blatant lie as the unedited full recording will prove. There can be no evidence to support any abuse to staff from my side as there was no abuse from my side. The recording will prove a lot of verbal abuse both in words and in tone and inappropriate behavior from his part though ...
Which administrator banned you (if known): shadow knight
    When were you banned: 02/07/2017

Fair seas to you Ryko and let's hope for some strong winds to get your ship sailing from all the damage that was done by the unfair seas.

P.S. can you re-brand AWE to EU#3?  -- Sounds way more logical in comparison to the other two servers.

Short text, holding a test for Valiant as ive done a couple of days work on it now, hopefully unfucking it after Apex and a code-merge that went really really horribad.

Do mind this is still getting developed and ther are stuff lacking in terms of standard loadouts and the arsenal is currently empty as me and ryko are testing a new soloution for the weapon lists.

This test is to just to check again if the mission works as intended etc.

You will have to download an additional mod that I have prepared HERE

The test will be held on 124th's server as I am also going to test ASR in large scale.

duffyman reacted to Mattadee in Tanoa - ASP Kir Question
Hey Sniper (I've spoken to you on TS before, I'm sure you remember me!)

I don't know how much about the ASP you know but it is a unique rifle, and its inaccuracy is also the exact reason that it is so strong.
The ASP is the game's ONLY subsonic rifle (to my knowledge anyway). This means that when the bullet comes out of the end of the barrel, it is travelling under the speed of sound. The result of this is that yes, that bullet then becomes extremely susceptible to external forces like changing winds and extreme bullet drop disproportionate to range (because below the speed of sound that bullet, which happens to be very large, is loosing speed very quickly). This is why you shouldn't really be operating the ASP beyond 300 metres or so.

However the fact that it is subsonic is also its greatest strength. It means that when you fire the gun, the crack sound you're used to hearing as the bullet(s) fly over you (or if you're unlucky, into you) are invisible. It means you can get right up close and, because the rifle also has a built in suppressor, the enemy will have absolutely no idea where on gods earth you are if you're suitably camouflaged.

So TL;DR, the reason you're missing is because that gun is simple not designed to be operated past 200-300 metres (and even at those ranges it is rather inaccurate). Best stick to using it for medium range to relatively close quarters fighting.

Really quick announcement that tomorrow, Friday [18/07/16] from 5PM local UK time (Click here for conversion to your local time) there will be normal gauntlet but with myself online as a Zeus operator. There will be sub objectives alongside normal gauntlet missions. No special sign up, no special mod requirements, just the normal EU3 repo stuff. Have fun, work together, and try some slots you maybe haven't used before. This is something I am hoping to do more regularly depending on feedback from it.

duffyman reacted to Copey in The state of EU3 - Opinions, problems and possible solutions. A constructive thread.
Right this post it going to be blunt, pretty darn long and more than likely won’t make me any friends. And I really don’t care. There are issues, serious issues within the eu3 community at the moment, some have been there a while, some have only just started. However, I think the severity of them has become evident throughout recent threads within the forum. I will put this at the start; if any posts in reply to this turn into the bitching plain to see in other threads or are inflammatory, then I will ask for them to be moderated, and either toned down to the useful and constructive bits or outright removed. I am making this thread attempting to address some of these issues in a constructive discussion, with a possible solution, at least a temporary one to get the community back on track. Solution is in the last paragraph, skip to it if you really must, most things before that s outlining current issues as I see them.

I won’t lie EU3 in game and the community of players it supports have become more toxic than Rainbow Six Siege when you play with Josh of late. People are plenty able to voice their opinions out of channel to friends at the moment, but are not willing to put them plainly on the forum or in a place where the issues they see can be addressed. As someone that talks to a lot of folks that play on server there is a growing contempt for some decisions made on the direction of development of gauntlet. I am not going to go through them all, however, to name a specific issue is the changing of squad composition and secondary change to require a CMD element at all times. Now don’t for 2 seconds think this is going to turn into a rant about that, because it isn’t. I’ll be honest I don’t agree with these changes, yet I do understand the reasoning for them. This change has caused some pretty serious rifts and divisions within the community, and I understand there will always be people who don’t get on, the current state of division is ridiculously bad. It is toxic. We need to pull people together, not force them apart based on a single issue, and work it out, rather than bitch at each other because of it. I get that it arouses strong emotions within people but the way it has been discussed hasn’t exactly been constructive.

In general, there is a lot more pissing around – for lack of a better way to put it, on server. Now we aren’t milsim, and I hope we never become that, but there is a degree of responsibility held by all players who want to play on the server because of its more informal nature. That responsibility as outright ignored by some members, while others accept it and use it. This isn’t something the mod team should have to be dealing with. If you are going to play on the server, enjoy it, and enable others enjoyment, you need to have a mind-set of community, rather than I this or I that. This was something instilled in me when I first came on the server many moons ago, but it’s not exactly the case anymore. We need to get back to that, encourage people to accept the values of EU3 and not take it for granted. It’s almost like that same principles as clubs IRL, they do much more for building and growing an individual than just teaching them or playing football for example.

There are other issues but I don’t have time to type them at the moment, battery on my laptop is running low and I’m currently on a train. But I want this to post as soon as I can so I’ll hopefully get back to it later when I get home.

In summary with all of these issues, EU3 has changed dramatically from how it was first envisaged, all things need to adapt and change over time, however my personal opinion is that the server has lost its way a little, strayed from the principles it was founded on. That isn’t a personal dig at the people running EU3, so don’t take it as one. I think to get back to the community of supporting and enjoyable gameplay, with a lot less drama than we have now, we need to seriously look at the direction of the server. AhoyWorld isn’t a democracy, that isn’t a bad thing, but what is a bad thing, is not being a democracy, and not listening or consulting the community who play on, and ultimately support the servers. A possible solution that could work as a temporary measure to get things back on track and to get general and specific feelings heard is to utilise the field ambassadors and EU3 veterans. Before changing a core feature of the server or path of development its really easy to run such changed by both mods, as is done currently I believe, and these experienced members. Not being someone who enforces the rules, in my experience has meant that people tend to voice honest opinions more. It would be really simple to quickly gauge honest community reaction to things by talking with FAs and vets, and have the same effect as holding one of our pretty rare community meetings. As a further idea for moving forward, use these FAs and vets as an oversight committee (in effect) for the creative direction of the servers. All creative processes, which maintaining and developing gauntlet has to be called, require the developer(s) to be grounded, perhaps using this oversight committee so to speak as a grounding wouldn’t be that bad of a thing, as they know general feelings within the community and can provide genuine feedback very, very quickly. And I think that it is important we don’t use the mod team as this committee, but include say 2 mods within it.

To those who are the creative developers on EU3 this post isn’t solely directed at you, but I feel it is a good place to start in turning the community around for the better. Do not take it as me having a moan at you, I’m not.

Sorry for the length of the post but the problems we are seeing need to be addressed and fixed. And done pretty soon too. We cannot continue as a community with things how they are, because there won’t be a community pretty soon, there will be a bunch of salty folk bitching at each other at every opportunity. Surely that isn't what we want.

I agree with Johnson myself, I believe CUP is mostly useless and what little of it we do use, you can either already get in RHS or is awaiting us in a better mod.

From what I understand, a large portion of why we use CUP is to use British Army gear, vehicles and equipment. Rather than using CUP for this, why not get a dedicated BAF mod? There's loads out there that I've sometimes used and they are incredibly detailed and well made. In addition, we use it for new enemies when really, there's LOTS you can do with RHS and with the addition of independent, there is even more.

For me and others, we believe it should be quality over quantity, if what we do use is limited, people will learn to like that a lot more. It's worked for me and a lot of others over the years of Arma 3 Modding.

    Phonetic Alphabet
When communicating over the radio you must always use the phonetic alphabet.

For example, if I wanted Charlie squad to engage grid B1 marked on the map I would say
"Charlie this is Delta 0, you are to push South and engage grid Bravo 1, how copy?".

    Key Phrases
    Phrases/terms to remember and use.

    Roger: Message received and understood.

Over: Transmission finished, reply expected (short for "Over to you").

Out: Transmission finished - no reply expected. For example "Copy that Delta, we will engage the target. Out." Note: only the sender should terminate traffic with “Out”.

Wilco: Your message is understood and we Will Comply (usually combined with Roger: "Roger, Wilco").

Confirm: Indicate whether a message has been understood or that a sent message has been understood correctly. For example:
    "Stalker 1, confirm coordinates are 045,091 ?"

How Copy: Ask receiver if message was received and understood correctly. Correct responce would be Solid Copy (if heard and understood correctly) or Bad Copy (if not heard correctly or not understood).

Repeat Last: Ask receiver to repeat last transmission.

Standby for orders: Await further orders, usually shortened to Standby.

Affirmative: Yes (sometimes abbreviated to Affirm).

    Negative: No

Zero: The highest rank at a location within a squad/section. For example Delta squad's commander would be "Delta Zero". If I wanted to speak to Delta's commander I would say
"Delta Zero this is Charlie Zero, confirm we are to push South and engage grid Bravo 1?"

Locstat: Location at the current time. Usually when a callsign is moving. e.g. "Send locstat, over".

Sitrep: Situation Report = how you are getting on with an assigned task or the state of your unit.

Redeploy: (Vehicle) Move to a different location. When given with a grid or location, it is effectively a move order.

CAS: Close Air Support. For example "This is Charlie to Stalker 1, requesting CAS on grid 041,048, how copy?"

    CasEvac: Casualty Evacuation.

FAC: Forward Air Controller. A designated marine within a section/squad that will act as the middleman for sending traffic between air and ground.

That is how all of your messages should be spoken. Don't shout or swear. Don't talk when someone else is talking - wait for them to finish, including any response they are expecting.

All spellings should be spoken using the phonetic alphabet.

All numbers should be spoken as digits (i.e. two one, not twenty one).

All callsigns should be spoken as digits and phonetics.

Do not use the radio for chatting. Use DIRECT for this purpose.
