    I'd say @Minipily gave a pretty solid answer to your question.
     
    Unfortunately, a lot of different Arma 3 communities are experiencing similiar dry spell situations, it isn't purely reserved to Ahoyworld. The main contributing factor is that Arma 3 is becoming dated, and naturally, players will move on to other games.
     
    Ahoyworld is recovering though, thanks to the re-introduction of EU2 and the MSO missions ran by the Enhanced team.
    Hopefully once I&A4 is pushed out, full focus can be put into the release of AWE which I'm sure a lot of the oldies and newcomers will enjoy.

    It's been a bit quiet in certain areas, depends what you want to come back here for.
     
    If you're interested in EU1 then that is obviously still around, some old faces may still be around too. Depends if you're playing for community or just playing there.
     
    EU2 is now doing organised gamenights every weekend and I believe sometimes in the week, if you're interested in some lightly modded (pretty much just TFAR) gameplay with a similar mindset to EU3 (organised, communication teamwork) then you might wanna check that out.
     
    EU3/AWE is down, no idea when it will be ready. Perhaps, next year if we're lucky but again, it's very grey on grey.
     
    EU6/MSO is around, we do heavily communication orrientated, challenging gameplay. It's had a break currently just due to the fact I'm in a new job and a bit spent on more heavy strain gaming.
     
    Discord exists, so if you'd like to use that then it's there.
     
    Teamspeak still has its regulars come in, as always me and the lads are down in the Navigation Deck and you'll find some others groups in and around the ship.
     
    I think all AW servers have moved to ArmA 3 Workshop now, Repo is pretty outdated and I rarely see it being used anymore on ArmA period.
     
    I believe you were more of an AWE regular so it's easy to understand why you thought the server was on its last legs, but there's still a home for everyone here and AWE is just having a much needed renovation.
     
    Pop in whenever you want obviously, but it does depend on what you're looking for.

    We have heard the requests made for TFAR to be permanently run on I&A3 on our EU2 server, as such, its here! 
     
    We are trialing running TFAR on EU2 all the time now. The test will run for a few weeks and if the feedback is good then it will stay for the long term!
     
    Hope you all enjoy this new variation of I&A 3 on our servers!

    For the radios: go to functions/inventory/fn_cleaninventory.sqf and in the code that removes assigned items and inventory items make an exception for tfar radios.
     
    For the gbus on the wasp: have a look at fn_smsuccesshint.sqf, there's a wasp with gbus in there. Just search for the classname

    In I&A you would have been dead on approach, you would have lost your main rotor at least twice, blown up about 6-8 times. Hitting the fence is wonky, sometimes works, sometimes doesn't. The very first landing you did, you tried to use the buiilding as cover, yet you still landed on the far side of the compund, exposing yourself.
    In KOTH these might work, but AI is far more efficient with lock on missiles and everything else.
     
    And just curious, because i dont really like compilation videos, how many landings didn't make into this video. How many ended up in flaming wrecks. Skill is one thing, but consistency is the key. If you blow up 10 times then make it once and record the one to show it off as skill, well, in I&A and ovarall anywhere, wont get you good pilot status. Doing one extraordinary stunt is not as impressive as doing the less extraordinary but still hard to do stuff all day every day.
     
    What about the 99% J-hook landings? There are far more landing types out there for every situation. Barrier landing, out of trim cutback, etc. Every situation requires to use the appropriate landings. Flying is so much more than just speed. Starts from picking the LZ while doing a map-recon. Fisinhing it with getting back to base intact. Reliability is key here, on a long OP like I&A or zeus ops, players prefer a pilot who gets them to the fight, every. single. time. And not in front of an enemy squad to get instantly moved down while the heli leaves riddled with bulletholes forcing the players to watch the respawn screen and hop on the same heli just to repeat this process fr about 5 times more until one day, finally they get to fire at least one bullet and take down an enemy with it.  
     
    Being overconfident, disregarding the environment factors (big difference between KOTH player accuracy and available weapon systems and I&A AI behaviour) makes you less of a reliable pilot, hence they will mock you, until you adapt to the environment and needs of others. In I&A infantry wants to be on the ground, in cover, not immediately under fire while landing. In KOHT, they want to get next to the other guy just to shoot him and tbag him. Big difference. A good pilot takes these into consideration, not just trying to do the best airshow. Entertaining yout passengers is one thing, but you have to know when you can do a barrelroll to entertain, and when you have to switch to serious mode and place your passengers' safety above everything else. And by safety i dont moean get them disembark and whatever happens to them afterwards is on them. No. You are resposible for that. That would be like, here, im gonna drop you in a pond filled with piranhas, if you die, its on you.
     
    If you accept an advice, slow the approach, pick safer LZs, and take the humble approach. Be consistent, They want to get there, they want to fight. Help them achieve their goal.
    Either they trust you to do safe landings, getting them close to their goals, being consistent, every single time, or they will find another pilot and mock you when you say you are the 3rd best pilot in the world. Because in their eyes, you are fulfilling your goals (flashy, dangereous, unnecessarily extreme landings just to flex your skills) and not helping them achieve their goal (get on the ground and fight, not hopping on a helicopter, taking part in an airshow then die on approach).

    Results from week 3:
    We were successful in our diversionary raids on the LDF positions. This drew out the QRF force from the FOB near Nadbor. 
    We used this opportunity to attack and destroy the FOB, and successfully withdrew before the LDF could bring their full might to bear against us.
     
    This has proven that the LDF cannot hold the south of the country. We will now be able to move more freely in this area.
     
     
    Effects:
    Garrison at Nadbor was wiped out, the LDF will move out of this area and consolidating their forces in the North.
    We have made contact with an external force who will aid us in our effort. The benefits of this will be seen in the future.
     
    Important info:
    No mission next week, next mission will be 13/9/19.

    Step 1: First you will need to subscribe to Task Force Arrowhead Radio (BETA!!!) on the steam workshop (https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=894678801)
     
     
    You will also need to subscribe to the required mod CBA_A3 for TFAR to work. 
    Step 2: open the Arma 3 launcher and go to the MOD category
    Step 3: time to load the TS addon so TFAR works in game, to do this go over to the Task Force Arrowhead Radio (BETA!!!) under available mods and click on the drop-down arrow.
    Once you have clicked on the drop-down arrow it should look like this, now go to the Display more options button.
    Now open folder in Windows Explorer.

     
    Be sure to follow the warning.

     
    Once you have opened Windows Explorer locate the folder named @Task Force Arrowhead Radio (BETA!!!) and open it.
     
    Now that you are in the TFAR folder open the teamspeak folder.

    Now double left click on the task_force_radio TeamSpeak Add-On, once you have done this a window looking like this should open. Once open select install and follow the prompts. (version number will change over time)

     
    The final prompt should be add-on installed. Do you want to activate this Add-On? Select yes and restart your teamspeak
     
    Step 2.1: Now it’s time to check the Add-On is activated.
    On teamspeak go to tools and go down to options

     
    Once in options go to the Addons category and look for Task Force Arrowhead Radio, once located check for the box that will either say Enabled or Disabled. If disabled, click on the box that says disabled to enable it.

     
    Congratulations you have now installed TFAR and the TS addon.  (if you are referring to this guide on how to update to the latest version of the plug in all you need to do is reinstall the addon following the same steps)

    After conclusive testing, we have decided to use TFAR as the radio mod of choice for our [EU2] Zeus Operations. To keep it short, we decided to use TFAR over ACRE as TFAR natively supports vehicle intercom, whereas ACRE requires ACE to access this function.
     
    We will use TFAR in the upcoming operation this Sunday, and to make this transition easier, on the following days, we will be online on EU2 and TS to teach you how to set up and operate TFAR effectively;

    Thank you @ansin11 I'm very happy you feel that way! I must confess I felt a little bad when the chopper crashed into you, that was just so random.

    Finding the balance between making the mission challenging enough to be fun, yet not too hard is a fine balance which we are constantly trying to maintain. I also want to assure to everyone that we try to make the mission seem immersive and more realistic that playing against AI, while taking great care in not to kill anyone outright. Personally I'm glad this discussion is being had and also think it should be ongoing.

    P.S, I knew the kill farm would be tricky while building it!

    I feel obliged to point out that even though I frequently went down or died (often enough for it to be discussed on stream in the Zeus channel), none of my deaths felt sketchy or unfair to me, hence why I didn't get frustrated.
     
    I had lots of fun and lots of direct action, I can't complain about the mission at all.
     
    Sure, Killfarm was tricky to take, but not because of Zeus helping the AI or because we made our way there on foot. No, it seemed to me that it was tricky to take because of the overall defensive layout of the site, especially the bunker on the hill. We had to clear that bunker to be able to reach our objective, but the only entrance to it was on a slope facing towards the Killfarm, open to fire from that objective. Getting to that bunker, clearing that bunker and then getting from the bunker down to the Killfarm was the big challenge of that objective, and it felt right to me.
     
    Sure, a Hellcat wrecked me after I had just been reinserted, but that could have hit (or missed) anyone; in fact we were lucky that only one of us died there. I wish I recorded that, it was quite epic!
     
    Sure, I died a few more times, but that was during room clearing or when I was out in the open during firefights, nothing special. It's these deaths that actually improve my immersion:
    CQB is supposed to be dangerous and lethal, unfortunately the AI reacts too slowly to carry this over to gameplay, so dying serves me right for attempting to clear a house all on my own.
    Players take risks they know they can only get away with because the AI is predictable, slow and stupid, so I don't see a problem with Zeus bridging exactly that gap and thus making these missions more tactical and teamplay-oriented. In my opinion, the more Zeus(es), the less gap - brilliant, as long as it doesn't turn into PVP.

    I guess this is the best place to give feedback about Sundays zeus mission.
     
    I want to start of by saying that on Sunday I did a piss poor job at squad leading.  Going in I was prepared to do some team-leading but found myself as a squad leader for basically the entire OP.  Because I was initially a team leader I missed some key aspects of the briefing, specifically that armour squad gold was basically under alpha's command.  In addition I found myself task saturated most of the time.  From rewatching the stream I noticed that often people tried to reach me and I did not respond.  In the majority of cases my mind hadn't even realized that someone was trying to talk to me.  On the one or 2 occasions I did register that someone was trying to talk to me but did not respond I was simply too preoccupied to respond.  That's entirely on me.  When I got squad lead I should've taken a moment to sit back, think about what I've now got to do and then systematically do it.  I didn't, I just started to do shit leading to a very unorganized squad.
     
    Now for some feedback of the mission.
    The fog levels and wind levels were insane.  Nobody in their right mind would start an attack in those circumstances.  AI could see you from 800 meters away while you yourself could hardly see 200m in the valleys.  On the hills visibility was a bit better, about 400 meters.  Combine that with multiple static .50s and you're basically doomed.  I could see an insane amount of stuff on my map but when I actually took my laser designator out and looked I couldn't see anything.  On top of that the wind was so strong that smoking any approach to anywhere was impossible.  Leading us to have to run across an open ridge-line, with enemies on both sides that we cannot see nor engage that can see and engage us, to an objective from which we're being engaged but can again not engage ourselves.   The actions of Zeuses needs to be better coordinated.  From rewatching the stream I noticed that multiple zeuses were suppressing the same squad while others were seeing where they could put down mortars to get people to move up.  Suppressing is done to keep people in place, so how can a squad simultaneously be expected to move up?  Also, while the intention of mortars might be to get people to move that's not always how it's perceived.  Getting mortared while only moments before being suppressed, by enemies that cannot be seen or engaged, has no real benefit on gameplay in my personal opinion.  Also, 3-4 rounds will do, no need to put a barrage of 10-15 mortar rounds down, at least not the first time a squad is being mortared at the same position.  There has to be a rule that at the very least 2 people should be in an armour squad before it's allowed to leave.  A single crew armour piece is useless in missions like these because you can't set up on a hill far away and kill everything from a safe distance. Zeuses should be required to partake as players in these missions from time to time.  I feel that it's important that a zeus is put on the receiving end of what they do. As for a conclusion I feel that Sundays mission would have been more enjoyable if the fog wasn't there and if zeuses were just a bit less heavy handed.
