Act 3 - Weather the storm
    Part 1

Malden has fallen into Russian hands. Many lives were lost during the stalwart defense and there reports that some of the NATO combatants managed to survive and are now hiding on the island. With the island firmly under Russian control, there is no way to help them now - they're on their own, trapped in enemy territory. Luckily, with the involvement of USMC and USS Gerald R. Ford, the [REDACTED] was recovered from Malden and the Russians remain unaware of the true nature of [REDACTED]. And so it seems a crisis was avoided, though having to involve USMC and a carrier in this conflict is reason for worry, as it may lead to escalation of the war. Right now USS Gerald R. Ford, with the critical cargo still aboard, is sailing south, away from archipelago of Altis and a forming medicane that may soon hit it and - more importantly - away from the battlegroup of Russian battlecruiser Admiral Nakhimov, which was dispatched to chase the carrier away from the islands.

It is certain that Russians will now commit their forces to the fight on Altis and it seems they have already began moving forces, though unfortunately NATO forces are unable to do much about it at this time. Additionally, the insurgents have increased their activity across the island, especially in Russian-controlled territory. There is suspicion that it is connected to Freedom's interest in Gatekeeper's prototype weapon - "Thor's Hammer". Altian troops are doing their best, fortifying before the imminent Russian assault and trying to contain the insurgent threat. As it is autumn, days get shorter and shorter and weather gets worse - there is also a medicane forming, threatening to hit the archipelago of Altis.

    The mission
The insurgents are conducting operations across the island and it is clear that they are searching for something. Your task is to interrupt insurgent activities and find whatever it is they're trying to find.

Playing alone on the server requires special tactics. There are a few things that work for that, but usually they take some preparation and careful execution. I'd advice to take a role that can be mostly self sufficient i,e, needs to be able to handle armour and infantry targets alike, as well as selecting a vehicle that you load up with equipment needed.

I did some hacking on Wibbler's Helicopter Transport scenario to include helicopters from popular mods so you can get some flight time in non-vanilla helicopters.  I left the Ghosthawk and Hummingbird in from vanilla since those are staples of EU1 and added more choppahs.  Figured I might as well share with Ahoy and feel free to move this if I posted in the wrong spot.

    Hello Ahoyworld member,

There is a way to contact the Ahoyworld Staff by typing in any chat "!admin" following this you should include the players name and reason for your ping. Examples of pinging the Staff are the following: !admin/Norris/AFK pilot or !admin/Xwatt/team killing or !admin/script kiddie on EU1. This function should not be abused, if abused it could result in a kick or a ban. On our Team speak server  ts.ahoyworld.net  (this goes in the address box) and Discord server there is a channel named "Need Assistance?" which you can enter and a member of Staff will be with you when we can.

Most of the time there is a member of Staff on EU1, Team speak and Discord servers, but in the event that there is no Staff members around there is a player report tool that you can use which is found here: Player Report Tool. In this player report tool you should include a DETAILED description of the event and TIME it took place, there is a place where you can insert a link for VIDEO EVIDENCE which will help us out tremendously in the investigation and help determine the outcome.

    Thank you,

Lindi reacted to Stryker990 in Improving the chopper dropable supplycrates
One of the underused features on the I&A3 are the supply crates you can load into your chopper at mainbase.
While they have a wider range of supplies in them than i expected some of the ammotypes are not represented (AK ammo or missiles like the vorona)  and in general there is not enough of some ammotypes to adequatly supply a bigger group of people.
I understand that we have a empty supplybox at the vehicle liftzone at mainbase which we can fill with the help of steve senior and bring to the battlefield. However the fact that you can only slingload it makes it quite a i would call it clumsy method of supply as you have to content with the occasional desync ripping the crate off your chopper and having to fly rather high for the box to not get destroyed hitting the ground. We already have the loadable crate from steve senior so i would ask if we could get the ability to load in that customfilled ammobox into the aircraft either in a similar manner as the standard steven senior crates or have them attach in the cargobox of larger aircraft which have a cargobay like the huron, mohawk, xian and possibly the vehicle transport blackfish.

Shouldn't be impossible, most of the code already exists anyways, just need to apply it to that crate and it should be good.

Lindi reacted to GhostDragon in ACE Medical setting change - The Stitching
A field medic can and will use a stich kit to stabilise a patient and in our gamenights and AWE play we aim to have as many boots on the ground at a time as possible. As such we will never remove the option to stich from the medics. We have limited the PAK to medical facilities that provides enough reason to send someon back to base in the situation that they are badly wounded enough that the medic cant deal with them in field.

After discussion with the staff we are going to test out stitching in field but leave them single use to ensure that they are still balanced and the logistics still have implications if a medic is using them a lot

Lindi reacted to JANXOL in War for Altis - Act 2 Mission 10 Modded Zeus Ops 03.05.20 @ 16:30 UTC
    Tactical overview

The remnants of NATO forces (combined US, British and Altian troops) are holding the airfield, but they are surrounded by Russian troops. They have a line of fortifications to the south and west, but they won't be able to hold on their own. There are still non-combat personnel in need of evacuating, their location will be relayed to you so you can prepare their extraction.
Situation is delevoping dynamically and additional information will be provided before you depart the ships.

The base is also housing a classified american facility known commonly as The Dome. It is a black site dedicated to conducting illicit operations focused primarily on monitoring or intercepting data relayed by spy sattelites of various countries, or even actively hacking into sattelite networks. The information stored in the data banks of the facility are critical in two ways - firstly, they are a significant asset for our war effort and could be an equally significant asset for the enemy, if captured. Secondly, many of the files are politically sensitive and may or may not involve countries that are neutral or allied - if the operation is revealed to the world, ot could cause us certain diplomatic difficulties.
The emergency procedures involve transferring critical data onto a mobile platform and wiping the local storage in a way that will make it impossible for enemy technicians to recover it. You must delay the fall of the base untill the process is completed. Afterwards, recover the mobile platform from The Dome and evacuate it to USS Gerald R. Ford. You will need to use a heavy helicopter to slingload the package, as such CH53 is mission-critical equipment.

After the non-combat personnel and the package are secure, evacuate your forces from Malden.

    Carrier operations
You deploy on two ships: the carrier USS Gerald R. Ford and escorting destroyer USS Patrick Gallagher.
The armoury is located aboard the Patrick Gallagher and this should be considered the priamry infantry spawn at the beginning. However, after your gear is sorted it might be easier to depart from the carrier, depending on your reinsert plan. There are means for easy transfer of personnel between ships available.
Due to limited munitions, the anti-surface weaponry of the destroyer is restricted for self-defense, carrier protection and emergencies, as such you should not expect it to fire in support of the ground forces.

Pilots are expected to take necessary precautions during the flight operations, as deck park is in use. There is still more than enough space to conduct launch and recovery operations and taxi without assistance from deck crew.
Locations of servicing pads: 1 on each elevator, 1 on rotorcraft landing pad behind the island and 1 on the landing pad of the destroyer.
Landing strip is angled - when landing line up with the strip and not with the ship itself - this could result in crashing into parked aircraft.
Overlord will provide deck crew assitance with unfolding and moving rotorcraft as necessary.

You have been banned for wasting assets (vehicles) i.e. crashing choppers. You were banned after at least 8 warnings and 2 kicks by 3 different admins. You were given numerous warnings, but you've chosen to ignore them. You were repeatedly asked to change slot to something else than a pilot, but since you kept rejoining as a pilot you were finally banned for 7 days.

As the title says, this guide will teach you the USMC Basic School standardized procedures for Close air Support and Indirect Fire Support.
Note: No one expects you to know these things unless you are Platoon Command, RTO/FAC/JTAC/FO, a support element (Air/FSG) or are the leading SL in the field.

Therefore the linked PDFs down below provide:
Definitions for units, control measures, etc. Step-by-step instructions for the communications between the one ordering and the one providing the respective support from doing the preparations to ending the mission In the CAS-guide there is in addition to this also an example of a transitted 9-line In the IDF-guide this is done individually for each of the different calls for fire (i.e. "adjust fire", "fire for effect", "suppressive fire" and "immediate suppression") Examplatory forms for use in the field In the CAS-guide: 9-line In the IDF-guide: Calls for fire, Message to Observer, correcting the fire, repeating the mission and ending the mission Links to the original pdfs from the USMC Basic School
