    @GTX_2018 I'm sorry to hear you feel that way. After spending so much time with us on Eu1, teamspeak and on EU3 I would have thought you would have a better understanding of our staff as people. 
     
    To me it seems like you are not taking responsibility for your actions. To simplify yesterday I will put in bullet point form and try to explain what happened, why it happened and why I agree it to be correct.
     
    Firstly you offered up some inflammatory statements relating to gender for which an admin quickly corrected you and you were warned not to continue the conversation. Less than 1 hour later you were negatively commenting on a players performance which you were politely asked to stop doing, to this you responded by berating the admin likely thinking that your tenure here gave you a right to behave like this. I was in teamspeak and agreed with the admins decision to kick you at that stage. You then connected to teamspeak, where you and I spoke about it and I informed you that your behaviour was not acceptable and was not normal for you as a player. You agreed this was the case and left to re-join the server. Which I thought would be the end of the saga. Unfortunately, you then upon seeing another player be kicked decided to join that players group in an attempt to gain traction to the idea that you were the victim and that the admins had somehow overstepped their authority in kicking you. For this you were given a 30 day ban under rule 1.1.1. AhoyWorld is a welcoming community that respects its members and visitors. We expect everyone to maintain this environment and will take action against those who jeopardise that community spirit. Admins reserve the right to warn/kick/ban users whose behaviour is deemed disruptive or aggressive and not conducive to a place of tolerance/friendship/comradery. Whether the behaviour is disruptive or not will be determined on a case-by-case basis on the judgment of the admin/admins present.   
    With the facts laid out I will say that I would not have expected this from you as a known member of the community. I was also disappointed in how your demeanour changed when dealing with me. Why were you so dismissive of a moderator who is working hard to make the server enjoyable for all but would listen to me, the mod team should garner the same respect as a member of core Staff.  
     
    If it were me in the first instance I would have kicked you for the first comment relating to gender. The moderator choose to give you a warning as is within their discretion to do so.
    To insinuate that you did not deserve to be kicked after that is to say that your behaviour as a whole cannot be used against you only specific actions, which is untrue.
     
    Honestly, I'm just upset about the whole thing. I was glad to see you back playing and had commented a few weeks ago that I hadn't seen you and hoped you were ok. as I do with a lot of players who come and go.
     
    To take away from this I hope that you can reflect on the encounter as a whole and learn from it. 
    Ahoyworld is a welcoming community and you are welcome back here in the future if you can learn and grow from this.
    Many members have had a checkered past but we grow as people and as a community.

    Hello,
     
    For some reason I was thinking about ArmA 3 when it was first released and playing I&A way back. I remember playing on the public server with Razgriz, Josh, BACON, Edward, and some others. I might have the names wrong but that's what I remember. I left the community in 2014 due to IRL getting in the way. I hope everyone is doing well around here. 
     
    I have a document that a few of us were creating for the first campaign that Ahoyworld was going to run. I don't think it was ever finished or played but I have the story document that some of us were using to get ideas down. See attached. It was a google doc but I downloaded it as a PDF for easy viewing.
     
    I also remember a hilarious moment where we had the guy with the "radio voice" from somewhere in Scandinavia do a "Ahoyworld Hotline" telephone call. I recorded that moment and kept the file but I moved this year and can't find where I put the file. If someone else happens to have that recording, I would love to listen to it. If I happen to find the file, I will post it in this thread.

    I'm making a custom Zeus mission to eventually run on AWE and previously I was using a weapons sway reduction mod off Armaholic until someone tipped me off to this SQF command:
     
    player setCustomAimCoef 0.15;  
    No mods needed, will work in Vanilla and that coefficient seems like a nice balance to me.  The bigger the number, the closer to vanilla behavior (1.00).  There's still weapons sway, it's just reduced to a manageable/non-annoyance level and the decay on the effect seems faster.  You can move 5 or 10m without going straight back into the full sway mode.

    I don't think we would benefit much from a rule that is enforced partially or not at all. 

    "Claiming all targets" so you mean kill stealing? One of the big realisations for me in Arma was, the score board really means nothing. Pilots don't get points for transporting people in I&A3, their impact on the server is still hugely important. Their importance is not diminished at all by the lack of points, more over people will start recognizing good pilots over time.

    Again UAV and CAS isn't directly comparable to the issue you have described. There is only one UAV slot and 5 pilot slots. All six of these slots are scrutinized more closely than any infantry role due to their specialized and limited nature thus I don't think you can draw a direct line between those roles and say AT or repair specialists.

    In your initial suggestion you mentioned limiting the use of Armour in the main objectives, hence the suggestion to play other objectives.

    I'm going to guess the counter argument here is that they are playing their role by going out to the AO and completing the mission. Armour makes it quite easy, loading the Hunter a bit less so, mostly due to limitations of the AI. Both these strategies still require some effort and knowledge of the game, neither is really breaking CAS rules nor the rule to play ones role as I see it. I've quite often also seen AA-titans carried in the Hunters. These have been used quite effectively against air threats that would otherwise take longer to handle, thus supporting the pilots in their transport duties as well.

    I will happily step in when someone is say camping an infantry factory from 1,5 km away. That I see as an clear abuse of game mechanic. Just like using the ammo truck to have an infinite ammo mortar.
     
    These strategies are available to everyone, if they so choose to play. I won't but if I wanted to I could, this is all in line with the openness that is EU1. EU1 is to me an open sandbox where you are allowed to quite freely do what you like with a low bar of entry, I would not want EU1 to move to a more milsimmy experience, we got AWE and MSO for that.
     
    If you feel that it is impeding your fun in the main AO, you can always move to a side or primary mission, perhaps select a support role that does not require you to run around the AO?

    Ahoy All!
     
    I am eager to announce that together with Christiansen, Havoc & SiegeSix we are bringing several workshops to the Ahoyworld masses!
     
    With the influx of new members and the absence of similar events we saw it fit to introduce a series of workshops that will help introduce some of the trickier content available on the modded servers, particularly AWE.
     
    With these workshops we Intend to provide an introduction/refresher course on a series of subjects that you may encounter while playing with Ahoyworld. Our goal is to lower the bar of entry to these subjects and motivate you to play around with them more than you may already have. 
    This will not be a hardcore boot camp training course but instead a fun and friendly environment to help you familiarise with the subjects we have planned thus far.
     
    For now, we are still in the middle of crafting the workshops. Yet we would like to know which workshops pique your interest most. I therefore would like to ask you to head over to this poll and vote for the subject that you want to participate in.
     
    Specific event dates will be announced in the future in the events subforum!

    When the Liberation modset was finalised it was decided to include Shacktac as a required mod. This was to level the playing field for everyone. New players would not need to go find another mod and would not be missing the data that it provides and SL/TL would know that the team members would have access to that information. Experienced players could always turn it off in the settings if it is not wanted.
     
    Now that Shacktac will no longer be supported long term and DUI is an alternative we have looked at the possibilities in relation to this. For EU1 we have added DUI as an optional mod (although it doesn't play nice with something on EU1 at the moment). We have decided that EU3 will eventually move to DUI as shacktac may eventually become unstable but that will be some time in the future.
     
    We understand that having these mods as optional would be preferred by some but the decision was to keep Liberation as uniform as possible as so we have decided to stay with Shacktac for the time being.

Caught off guard they were also able to capture several senior government officials who are believed to be being held as bargaining chips. Having moved North during the holiday cease fire, the CHADS seem to be the force best placed to respond.

    This reminds me of my very first car accident - a minor fender bender, where I skidded into someone's rear bumper.
     
    At the time, I was convinced I was in the right because the driver in front of me drove erratically and stopped very suddenly, giving me no time to react and creating the situation that led to our fender bender.  We drove out to the collision reporting center where we had to fill out a report form.
     
    "Where's the box that says 'the other driver stopped too suddenly?'", I asked myself, and the officer I submitted the form to.  This guy clearly had heard this complaint a million times.  He calmly asked me how much space I was leaving between myself and the guy driving in front of me.  "Enough," I said.  "Plenty," I opined.  "If you gave yourself enough space, you wouldn't be here," he replied.
     
    The point of the story is - it's up to you to create your own safe environment.  If you get shot down by a jet, that is obviously evidence that says the skies are not friendly right now and that's a threat that needs to be dealt with before you can try to get players back into the AO.  You are the captain of your own ship.  If other players are trying to get you to fly out when there are enemy planes in the air, or too much anti-air, or a SAM site, or WHATEVER, you have the authority to tell them no.  That they have to remove that threat before you will risk your life (and theirs) to transport them in. Air transportation is convenient, but it's not the only way into an AO.
     
    Further, this is the reason we give you two airframes - everyone can get unlucky.  But we limit the amount of airframes to give everyone a chance at the highly-coveted role of pilot.

      Welcome to 2021! This is a new year for the World and our Community. Ahoyworld would like to thank all the Donators for your donations towards our community and hope that you continue to as we are reliant on them. This year will be full of good times with friends and new friends on our Public/Modded servers but also on our TeamSpeak server as well (ts.ahoyworld.net) so come and join us if you would like. This year will also be full of Events so keep an eye on our Events page for the full details ranging from Multiple Session Operations (MSO) to Campaign like Zeus missions (regular Mission Makers) to Game nights hosted by individuals like you. 
     
      If you would like more information on any of these there will be links for you to click on below. But here is the low down on these: 
    MSO - Multi Session Operations, we used to use ALiVE but due to instability we switched to just hosting Zeus game nights with a story that spans several weeks. First person only and a somewhat higher immersion mod count. RP is highly encouraged. Tends to put players in hard spots vs AI.
     
    Campaign mission - On our Enhanced server we have regular modded missions. Emphasizing tactics and teamwork.  
     
    Game nights - If you've come up with a mission that you would like to run on our servers, this is how you can do it! We have a framework available as a good starting point for your ideas (Mission creator framework), and when the mission is ready, you simply fill out a game night request found here(Game night request form). Staff will work with you to test your mission, make any necessary changes, and find a slot for it in our events calendar.  Can be as simple as a Zeus enhanced I&A session, to custom missions with mods.
