    Excuse me ?

I spent hours making functions etc to try to get it sorted with channel naming so that eu3 players could have a easy usage of it instead of having to use the map to put down channel markers. And this was after I said I was moving to Valiant. Also there was a lot of players using Arsenal radios which broke it too so that was a variable we could not control.
Bacon spent hours too trying to fix it too by tweaking and altering what I wrote.
Hell I even wrote code when I was on a business trip...

Me, Ryko and Origins was on to something that eventually didn't pan out as; well it worked on one dedicated but then stopped working so now we are not using channel names any more. So now it works straight out of the box as long as you don't use Arsenal to get your radio.

So before you go and say stuff you clearly don't know about get your fucking facts straight cause you just shit all over my work trying to fix it.

To keep it short I will keep it to my main equipment,
This is my main rifle with the WE Katana system, I gave this one the name Locust

My first more common loadout, by now I no longer wear it and my younger brother has adopted it.
My new kryptek loadout this one I almost only wear during milsim/tacsim
My most common loadout with signature pakol you will see me running around in this combo 9/10 times.
As a secondary I have a m93r II, I don't have pictures from it but I love it, it's big but not to big and has 45 round mags shooting in a burst.

I don't disagree but your point is not dependent on you taking the role, others could take this role, or perhaps you could lead the squad and invite a newer player in to coach them? I don't think you'd find many people saying no if the offer was out there.

I know you offered on the training nights which is great, and I don't disagree that some players can be a law unto themselves, but simply giving up on them isn't the answer either and is plainly arrogant. I am reasonable new here and it's been quite clear from the beginning that the success of this place is totally dependent on the players, especially the more experienced like yourself - you can make or break it by either being open and welcoming or shutting the door whilst you do your own thing.
Apologies to Zak for taking this off topic.
    Regards, Alex.

Using map-grid for target acquisition Terrain Elevation Map tools (Mills, bearing, distance)
    Why you want this:
More precise control Low angle and High angle attack ETA to impact Precise Bearing and Elevation numbers Allows for blind firing So you're no longer an artillery computer scrub
    Download the Artillery Sheet here:

    The video explains it all:
Map techniques are interwoven with the methods.
    0:47 - 6:52 Artillery Sheet method (Map Grid + GPS + Contour Levels) 6:52 - 9:12 82mm Range table Method (Maptools)

    UPDATE 1-1-2016 Fire Mission Routine:

When operating in the some of the cramped environments like we tend to do at times, it's important to follow proper Fire Discipline to avoid friendly casualties when firing artillery shells. It takes time for shells to impact at the designated location so make sure you give friendlies enough time to retreat or prevent them from moving up when shells are danger close.

Here's an example fire mission that includes all the options (adjust, repeat):

    Update 23-12-2017 Mortar Trajectory Explained:

With this update I've included 4 plots that explain how the mortar trajectory works and how one should compensate the trajectory for uphill and downhill shooting.

First we look at the angle the mortar fires at. Increasing the elevation we can fire at things closer to us. If we lower the elevation we can get a bit more distance out of the mortar.

We now look at how the charge of the mortar affects its trajectory. A bigger charge allows us to reach out further when we keep the elevation constant. We can also use this to our advantage. For example, if there is a really big mountain in the way perhaps it's wise to select a bigger charge so you know you will clear the mountain.

Now lets look at the theory behind shooting a target above or below you. First we tackle a target above the mortar:

When we use the maptools we can get a range to the target of dx. However, since the target is above us we can see that if we were to dial in the mortar for that distance dx we would shoot the red trajectory and hit in front of the target. Therefore we need to adjust our elevation downwards so we can hit the target. The range table gives an adjustment in 100m height difference intervals. If there is only a 50-meter difference feel free to just divide the adjustment given by the range table in half or interpolate for other differences. However, a height difference of 10 to 20 meters relative to your own height shouldn't really cause any issues, and adjustment is considered optional.

Downhill shooting is very similar to uphill shooting. However, instead of lowering our elevation we increase our elevation as shown in the following diagram. The indicated numbers on the range table for adjusting the mortar work similarly, but instead we now adjust in the other direction.

Understanding the trajectory of your mortar shells is very important to minimize civilian/blufor casualties and to get pinpoint accuracy. That said, the further your target is away the larger the deviations will be, so don't expect pin-point accuracy on targets beyond 1.5km

    Hi folks,

Version 0.19 of my Insurgency mission is ready to be tested, and I will need some volunteers to help test it tomorrow.

I will be running my computer in dedicated server mode tomorrow at 1900 GMT (1400 EST) and performance seems to top out at around 8 bodies.  If we're getting good frames and there are more people, I will open it up to more.  I'll coordinate through Teamspeak, but if you have me on Steam, you can also contact me that way.

Ideally we'll fill up the Alpha Squad lead (3-man) unit and a team of Alpha (5-man).

I'm happy with many of the changes I've implemented, and hope it all transitions well.

    Hope to see folks tomorrow!

Possibly, though in my limited testing I haven't come across any.  I just got this thing working this consistently today.

It's a fair question.  I really starting going in this direction for a mission I'm working on, where there is a rifleman slot that has no special characteristics... ie., he has no particularly interesting function other than to carry a gun and back everyone up.  So I thought, why not make him a breacher-style class and give him a grappling hook?  Now he has something interesting he can do.  This page suggests that grappling hooks occupy a place in the US armed forces:

... but then, they are trying to sell you one for $80.00

Nope, inspiration came pretty much solely from Project Reality BF2.

I try to keep engagements between 250-600 anything closer is less than comfortable, if anything is really close, for example you're both near the top of a ridge or mountain I just tell my fire team to lob grenades over the top. There's no need to get up close when you have perfectly fine M67 grenades at your disposal. Same goes for compound clearing and room clearing.

Anything past 600 meters can usually be ignored, I really only engage them if they are shooting at me.

About calibers and rifles. Follow the guidelines, and try to use as much stanag mags as possible so they can be shared when needed.
Remember, EU3 is for serious gameplay, if you're going to dick about in base or anywhere you're most likely going to end up getting banned. So don't tell veterans of EU3 to "loosen up a bit" because they do live by the rules and you're the one obviously breaking them if they need to tell you off.

ACRE isn't that more difficult from TFAR, it just takes time to get used to, just like TFAR. I really think it's more a case of "I don't like chaaaange!", but once you see the potential of ACRE it's far better than TFAR.

It would help if people would post on the forums what kind of issues they are having, that way we can help those in trouble far more quickly.

People have been begging and crying and whining for this map, then we play it, people come and go. Happily making a plan to solo an AO Then 3 people turn up, they get wiped and immediately start complaining about the snow and commence a #vote missions. Nice, real polite. Apparently this is the kind of BS that EU3 turned into. Nice going.

I wasn't complaining about the server population, I do however have an issue with people complaining ingame then initiating a #vote missions then immediately logging off to fix their loadouts in arsenal. It's incredibly rude to outvote people who've been playing an AO longer than you, just because you don't like the map. It happened to me yesterday and it's incredibly rude.
Furthermore, the snow is buggy as fuck, but whatever, it's supposed to be a Christmas special which will be gone on the 4th of January anyway Personally I wouldn't put in any more effort than the staff already did. Some of the people on EU3 really do come over as spoiled brats...
So I be the first to say I guess: Thanks staff! I really enjoy the map, the snow is of odd forms but it's fun when it works
