    Mikael was an absolute incredible soul. Always lit the room up wherever he was and was an absolute joy to be with. He left incredible memories within this community and it will be a real loss without him.

    We will forever cherish the time we got to spend with him and undoubtedly he will be sorely missed.

    Dear members of Ahoy World,
     
    It is with great sadness that I have to inform you of the passing of @Mikael on Friday July 15.
    He was involved in an motorcycle accident and succumbed to his injuries.
     
    I know Mikael was a big part of you community and he often talked about how much enjoyed the ARMA sessions he had with you all.
     
    I will come back with more information about the funeral arrangements when I get them.
     
    **Update
    The funeral will be held July 26.
    There has also been created a memorial page for Mikael LINK (page is in Norwegian). Here you can light a candle and leave your name ( Tenn et lys ) or write some words in his memory ( Skriv et minneord ) 
     
    And thank you all for your kinds words, it is really appreciate. He will truly be missed by all those who were lucky enough to know him  ❤️

    Here is a basic Mission Template for ArmA Reforger that I created. It includes all the necessary prefabs and setting for a Reforger Coop online Mission.  
    The US side is the playable faction and the USSR are the OPFOR faction. There is a small town that called Levie that i occupied by a small Opfor group with Patrol Waypoints that cycle.
     
    Feel free to use this Mission template as a baseline for your own Mission. 
     
    Several features will be added to the Mission with version updates. Those updates will be posted in the replies of this post.

    Situation
    After 20 days of almost purely air combat the focus has turned to the ground. American and Georgian ground forces have amassed to face the Russian ground forces at Krymsk, Its shaping up to be a hell of a fight.
     
    Our ground forces are outnumbered and counting on CAS taking off from Gelendzhik to help them win this battle. Unfortunately for us the weather is terrible, cloudy and raining with a base of 9000ft. Our side wont be the only ones with CAS in the air.
     
    While the carrier group would send their jets to assist, a giant bomber formation is barrelling south directly towards the carrier group. All available carrier jets have been sent to intercept.
    Mission
    Provide CAS for the ground forces at Krymsk and protect the carrier group.

    Flights will take off and orbit their airfield until all flights are up The F-14's & F/A-18s will head to CWP 1, and intercept the bombers. Airfield based aircraft will head to the battlefield at waypoint 3 and provide CAS returning to airfield or FARP (WP2) for rapid rearms then re-join the fight. (this will be an intense fight with very short travel times, respawn jets will be hot start on runway to enable custom loadouts on respawn) Once carrier jets have completed their task they will return to either carrier or airfield for rearm and join the CAS effort. (carrier respawn jets will be bases at Gelendzhik, the bomber intercept mission is a one life deal.) Upon the capture of Krymsk or defeat of our ground forces flights will RTB.  
     
    Required Skills:
    Airfield Take off & landing Carrier Take off & Landing (F-14, F/A-18, AV-8B & helicopters) Radio usage (setting and switching channels)  
    Optional Skills:
    Air to Air Refuelling Cruise missile intercept  
    This may be the end of the first campaign but it is just the beginning of many more hopefully. Thank you to all who have played and continue to play, its been awesome. I look forward to the next.

    As Damo said do check out the discord, We mainly play ArmA 3 (both persistent missions and organed gamenights), where there's plenty of support roles available, and there is a number of us that play squad too. For DCS, we've also recently opened a server running Escalating Terror (a custom gamemode from our very own LH5), and we've started running gamenights too, with the next one this Saturday, the 30th (don't wory about being new, lots of us are!). Any questions feel free to ask, or jump on discord and teamspeak and we'll do our best to help out!

    Rules & Guidelines for the creation & submission of DCS gamenights.
     
    = Rule = Guideline  
    Submission of mission/campaign
     
    Submit your mission via the gamenight request form at least 2 weeks in advance of desired date. Include if SRS will be required by players, skin packs or mods within mods required section If a mod that requires files server side is included please allow up to two weeks extra time for server setup. (4 weeks in advance total) A test mission file must be ready to go with your submission. This is so we can ensure the server likes your setup e.g map, scripts or any additional mods before we get close to event. Mission must be complete and sent 1 week before event. I recommend loading your mission in SP, using time acceleration and an invincible jet/heli to test run your mission before sending it.  Final Mission file must be handed over by at most 3 days before event date. This is so module requests on event post can happen. Add a closing date for module request on your event post that follows this rule.  
    Scheduling
     
    Gamenight dates & times can overlap with arma gamenights. Be prepared for potential low player counts if desired date has an Arma GN at the same time. You will be informed if an overlap is happing so if desired you may request another date/time. You may submit for any day or time. Be aware of days players are free, see this post for guidance.   
    Mission rules & guidelines
     
    The following will be adjusted based on feedback.
    The Su-25T must always be included. Best efforts must be made to include modules owned by players.  If a module is requested that is not operated by the faction we are playing, add it as a stand in for something not in DCS, adjust it to or bring another faction into the fight that does. DLC maps are not forbidden, keep in mind the number of people who own the terrain when thinking about making the mission. Ensure enough of desired modules are available. Pre place what you think is enough and place a optional poll on your event post asking what people will take.

    just my 2 cents, look at awe, we have rotation there, its deserted when a shitty (or ppl just not interested in) faction rotation is on. that will happen to eu1 aswell, but those will never come back (if lets say their first introduction is indep against csat armor).... eu1 should be eu1. with that said im not against rotating eu2, if is not that popular, you got your answer right there, without killing eu1 and its reputation for being one of the best if not the best starter server

    Situation
    Over the past 3 months tensions between Russia and Georgia have reignited. A series of attacks of unknown origin took place on the Russia Georgian border. 
    Shortly after a build up of Russian aircraft was detected along the border region and intercepted Russian communications revealed a plan to attack so called “terrorist strongholds” in Georgia. 
     
    The United States of America decided to send a squadron of various aircraft to assist Georgian forces in the defence of their airspace. The American squadron is stationed at Kutaisi with a squadron of Georgian Frogfoots.   
     
    On the 19th of May the Russian air force conducted strikes on targets within Georgia. Due to the American presence at Kutaisi steps were made to ensure the security of forces while on the ground and a Patriot system was set up. 2 of 6 Su-34’s detected in Georgian airspace were shot down.
     
    A swift response is needed and a plan has been drawn up to strike the forces responsible for the attack. On the morning of the 21st a joint strike force will take off from Kutaisi and conduct a precision strike on Nalchik, a Russian airfield that's being used as a staging ground for incursions into Georgian airspace.
     
    Mission
    Destroy the Su-34’s that took part in the attacks on the 19th with as little collateral damage as possible.

    An intelligence officer placed in Nalchik in the months leading up to the Russian strike reported the Su-34’s point of origin as Nalchik airbase. The officer was able to use a drone to capture this image on the return of the jets.

    Various ground forces can be seen in the area.

    Flight plan 
     
    We will be keeping to a flight area on a pre planned route. You may leave this area when in combat with air or ground forces, with a swift return to the area once combat is complete.
     
    (The following is subject to change based on threats we encounter)
     
    Take off and fly to Waypoint 2 in as close a formation as we can safely manage. From Waypoint 2 CAP flights will separate from the strike package and take the lead as we cross the Russian border. Once at Waypoint 3 the Strike package will hold in an orbit while SEAD flights push to Waypoint 4 and disable enemy SAM site(s) Once SEAD mission is complete SEAD flights will return to Waypoint 3 and hold in an orbit. With SAM threats neutralised the Strike package will commence its run as SEAD flights return to waypoint 3.  Once all strikes are complete all forces will regroup at waypoint 3 and return to base (Waypoint 1) in formation. CSAR will operate from a temporary FARP recovering any pilot that is shot down or crashes.  
     
    Required Skills:
    Airfield Take off & landing Radio usage (setting and switching channels)  
     
    An attempt at a Tacview debrief will take place after the GN.

    Would you like to take part in or run a AW DCS gamenight? If yes what type of mission, what day and time. Poll is up for a day, keep in mind arma GN will take priority so if it’s a Friday, Saturday Sunday at normal GN time we would have to wait for an opening. 
     
    As a test to see how we do we could hold an escalating terror gamenight as starting point before custom missions/campaigns are built.

    [Tweaked] Moved F16 waypoint 1 to spawn point & 3 to target
    [Tweaked] CTLD FOB crates now need 3 small instead of 9. 
    [Tweaked] Shortened distance needed to build crates from CTLD pickup points
    [Tweaked] Increased randomisation of objective spawning
        - now its a 50/50 chance of 1 of 2 objectives next in line. Still predictable spawn points, working on a random scripted spawn.
    [Tweaked] Scrapped 2 mission day night cycle. Now just 10 hour mission length that runs into night for 3 hours.
    [Tweaked] ambient jet respawns
        - Replaced Mig 19's with MiG 29's. See how it goes. 
        - Now respawn inflight randomly within a zone with off set waypoints.
    [Tweaked] Removed "good effect on target" sound effect on objectives destruction to reduce lag spikes.
     
    [Fixed] Air to Air range jet respawns. Chance they may land and not respawn, if that happens hit um with a gun run.

    You will see a few new options in the coms menu, in progress of implementing Moose. These options will not do much atm.
     
    Persistent pain in my arse. Maybe soon:tm: maybe not, see how some tests go.

    Dynamic Range: 
    A range of objectives that are as "random" as I can currently make them. 
    Objective Kick start holds the Key to the SAM sites and A/A threats. Until you take out Obj Kick Start the majority of A/A will not spawn and Long Range SAM sites will not be active on the East side of the map. 
    This area *should* not attack units outside its borders.
     
    Heli mission area:
    Missions with a short travel time made for Helicopters. 
    This area currently has a couple objectives and will be expanded on in update 1.1 which will appear with the release of the Apache. 
     
    Anti Ship Range:
    4 Ships to go practice your antishipping
     
    A/A Range:
    A few enemy and friendly jets that wont shoot back to practice your A/A 
     
    FARP: 
    Place within the belly of the beast for daring heli pilots and daring jets to land. 
     
    CTLD:
    CTLD is enabled for slots with (CTLD) in the name
     
    Combined Arms: 
    JTAC/Operator slots have CA enabled.
     
    The mission currently restarts every 4 hours
     
    Mission and server are new and things are likely to go wrong, all part of the process

    As I suggested in chat tonight, a CAS-off could be fun. Every pilot gets a certain number of disabled armored targets to hit in a specific time limit / with limited ammo. Person  who clears them all in the fastest time is the Best AW Pilot (TM).

    Thought I should write a little introduction aswell as I'll be playing more often now aswell.
     
    I'm Tizian or as, you will most likely see me on the servers, Kaiyo.
     
    Have played Arma on and off since the Arma 2 DayZ times and just recently started to play a bit more again thanks to your resident war criminal, Sho_Iwaizumi.
     
    You'll usually find me on the ground as your regular infantry man or machine gunner but I'm looking to try out flying a bit more soon ^^

    To add more ideas:
    -Shooting duel! No... not shooting at each other, but using the Arma 3 dueling targets. You shoot a disk on your side and it goes on the opponents side. Do this 1v1 duel until we have a 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners. Maybe using pistols or rifles set on semi automatic only. Players would be given a specific amount of time to flip targets on the other side. Once time is up whoever has the least targets on their side wins.
    -Marksmanship. Same thing, but instead of dueling, it would be long range accuracy. Players are given a specific amount of shots and the one with the most points wins. 
     
    I also thought about running and swimming, but soon realized that running around is just normal Arma and no one enjoys swimming.
