    Ahoy,

Those of you that have been with the crew for a long time will know our beloved server, the mighty "Flagship". It's only fitting that tribute be paid to her as she has served us well over the years.

She's seen 3 captains in her days on operations and many different staff have manned her gun ports (giggedy), Hosting things like ArmA, Teamspeak, Squad, Kerbal space program, Farm sim, various racing titles, and probably more titles. It's fair to say that many people have enjoyed her service (how many innuendos?). However there comes a time when you need the Germans to build us a new one.

And so, she has been laid up in dry dock and the new Flagship'o the line is setting sail out of port, her sea trials went well and we're happy that she's going to be available for all you scurvy dogs for all of your future adventures! (Special thanks to Soziopath for his hard work in this). That said, never forget the great times you had on our beloved Flagship, those memories are priceless.

Lads, charge your glasses and raise them high!
    To flagship!

I didn't make the rule, but it seems very sensible to me.

The 20mm on the Buzzard has almost zero splash damage, meaning to kill an infantryman, you have to hit him with it; near him is not good enough. This means when a pilot engages infantry, while they may indeed still suffer suppression, he will almost certainly not kill anyone, and even doing damage is unlikely. Add to this, often a pilot will be engaging a point where he thinks infantry is, but they actually aren't.

All told, you end up with an AA asset that often gets shot down while failing to do a job it was never any good at in the first place. This means it's not available when a job arises that it can actually succeed at.

By that reasoning, I find it to be a perfectly sensible rule, as players frankly can't be trusted to make this conclusion themselves.

From what I can see in the mission script, even the bodies have to be returned to the medical facility and someone needs to write a letter apologizing to the dead men's family (last part kidding).
    So next time:
Don't kill the hostages Bring body bags so you can load them inside the transport vehicle. And by the way, at least one of them has to survive so no one gets a dishonorable discharge hehe

    Hello, or better, Ahoy mateys!
    I am Gremlin/Mac.
I am on this forum for about a year now, but never really got to post my intro!

So, a bit about my ARMA self.
Been playing science steam ARMAII release. Dig the game, dig the teamwork, dig the epic scale.
First having fun in editor, making training missions for myself. Then got into flying planes, then helicopters. Then stumbled upon the AW I&A and fell in love. Was a bit confusing at first, but forgive my first humble multiplayer steps. Took me awhile to get my fists tight and get onto VORTEX(I will explain my flight addiction in my IRL self part.)
and, again, fell in love. Science then was trying out the support roles, when they are required. If VTX, FSG, and DS are filled with players who are potent enough to fulfill these roles(and not crash a greyhawk into ghosthawk with mortars, ghosthawk with mortars into greyhawk, shoot ghosthawk with a mortar so it falls an greyh... ok, that is enough, you got the idea.) because of large amount of aspects it took me a pretty while of training to figure out the UAV's in editor.
The only thing I learnt on the go while playing on AW without editor preparations is the change in UAV lock-on system. Took a while to figure that now you need to just select a target.
Meanwhile piloting on VTX, stumbled upon luetin during one of his old Zeus events, and he linked me to his channel(on topic of helicopter effective landing), and I, of course started watching his streams on ARMA Zeus ops. Never thought of being a Zeus myself for some reason. And suddenly it struck me with... you know, Zeus, lightnings... nice joke, Huh?!

And here I am waiting for the decision on my Spartan application.

Now for the sakes of real me.
I am 20y. o. Student from Mazer Rassha, Moscow :D.
My passion for flight is pretty simply explained - I lived in Prague for more than half of my life, and flown back and forth between Moscow and Prague, science my parents live in these countries. And got bored of flying on passenger seat.
Currently own a Private Pilot License(PPL)
and Commecial Pilot License(CPL-IF-ME) last stand for extensions for in flight in bad weather conditions(Instrumental Flight) and Multi-Engine planes(ME).
hoping to get that ATPL(Airline Transport Pilot License), which will grant me access to work in civil aviation as Capitan pilot airliner. My dream is to work in Lufthansa.
    lots'o'money, lots'o'flyin'.

I believe that people can be kind to each other despite controversial interests.
Also I am an amateur writer. This is how I fall asleep. I create a midboggling blockbuster in my head. At 15% of the story a fall asleep. Otherwise I am not able to sleep. At some point figured that I probably should write something down.

That at is it about me, mates, leave a comment, introduce yourselves!

In the last version a small fuel depot was introduced, it is located just past the heli repair pad.  Located at this fuel depot are 1 liftable and 1 non-liftable huron fuel container and 3 liftable fuel barrels. The hemtt fuel is also still at the hemtt spawn.

The huron container can be lifted by the huron and i believe one of the versions of the taru.  The fuel barrels can be lifted by any helicopter (yes this includes the hummingbird).

So I have been spending quite a bit of time on EU1 over the last weeks and I quickly got bored of the run for 10 minutes and then get team killed by the guy who drives over you in his Hunter, so I whipped out the old joystick, learned to fly in advanced and became a pilot. Yeah, I don't mind getting shouted at occasionally.
I have noticed, however, that a lot of pilots out there are very inconsiderate to others.  So, I thought I'd make a short list of beefs and some things that I do that I think make the world a better place, for pilots and passengers alike.

    1) Pilots, lock your guns before you take off. Clearly the temptation to fire miniguns at base is too much for some people. So, as a matter of course, and as the choppers spools up, get in the habit of locking the guns.
    2) Look 360 degrees before taking off from anywhere. Too many times I've been coming in to land at base and the guy in the other pad takes off and flies right into my flight path (or into me). It's just a matter of having a look, really.
    3) If you see a pilot waiting for a chopper to spawn, don't just run and take his chopper when it does. It doesn't hurt to ask. In other words, don't be a jerk.
    4) This one really gets me - if you crash a chopper but you live, DON'T just leave it in the middle of nowhere!  [Edit:see replies below for best repair option]. Only if you can't do that, then make sure you take some explosives with you at all times and blow the chopper. If you don't have explosives, get another pilot to bring you some. Finally, if you can't do any of that, send a message to the admin. But that should be a last resort.
    5) If you crash the chopper at base, don't just leave it there and take another chopper. Most of the time you can walk to the repair truck, drive it to the chopper, get in the chopper and it will be fixed. Alternative, ask a repair guy to fix it. Seriously, it's not that hard.
    6) Mark sensible LZs - too many times I have seen people mark LZs that are useless, only to then leave that one on the map and mark another. Other pilots will likely use the bad LZ. If you got shot down, don't just leave it there for others to get shot down.
    7) Ask your passengers where they are going. If you don't get an answer, than take them wherever you feel like, but definitely ask.

I'm sure I'll got some AA for this post, but hey, what pilot doesn't?
