Do people really need to question if this is an April fools joke?!

I think it's pretty obvious this is real.

I can't wait for the changes David!
Hopefully you can bring this to EU1/2 as well.

Hi all, as of midnight tonight there will be a few changes to EU3 and it's operation.
In order to make it more milsim all assets will now only be purchased via Ahoycoins. I have included a brief list to show roughly how it works but a full and complete list will be published in a number of days.
    A-10 = 500A¢
    AH-64 = 300A¢
    HK416/M4 = 30A¢
    Bigger rifles = 50A¢
    30rnd 5.56 = 10A¢
    30rnd 7.62 = 15A¢
    100rnd 5.56 = 50A¢
    Fuel = 1% = 1A¢
Repairs = 20A¢ per damaged component.
Medical supplies = 5A¢ per item
Many thanks, hope you enjoy the new changes.

    Purposed Saturday Night Gamenight!

    Operation: Gauntlet v 0.42D
    Map: Zargabad  Altis
Time of operation start: 7:00 PM GMT
Time of preparation: 6:30 PM GMT

Hello all, we will be playing the most upto version of Gauntlet for this gamenight. This Gamenight will sevre two purposes 1 to get people onto EU3 at a designed time so we can have a large force in play and 2 to allow new people to EU3 to squad up with experienced members and learn.

So if you've been wanting to try out EU3, or just have any questions, this gamenigt will hopefully allow you to have them answered.
There is the question of do you want training on the sign up form, if you select this then you will be put with experienced members of EU3 in order for you to be able to learn well playing.

The roles are either leadership or for vehicles, if I've forgot something crucial please comment with the role you would prefer.

Arsenal will be allowed, along with join in progress. Sign up is key for those who want to take charge. Respawning is allowed, however units can only be deployed to the area of operation in waves, subject to commands approval. This is to simulate a re-enforcement system/to get rid of vortex transporting one guy.

Normal game night rules apply, if you can’t cope with waiting to get back into the area of operations or planning please to not join.

Hello, so I thought I would weigh in with my opinions on the idea of the stepping stone sever. This basically being from my understanding eu1/eu2 with acre and ace, running the Invade and Annex mission file. Through having these two modules implemented, arguably the most noticeable changes from the non-moded severs to moded severs. I believe this would be a great idea, as it offers the players who play daily on eu1 and eu2 a more in-depth and rewarding experience, without the seriousness and set up of eu3. I notice regularly when i'm on that the eu1 channels have more than 10 players on, and without the radio channels of acre this would seem like a cluster situation when trying to communicate. This implementation would stop this.

From zissou's post there are regularly 420 people who roughly connect to eu1 each day ( can't remember the exact numbers) thus this wouldn't hurt the amount of people playing on that sever. With the argument that this sever would take away from the eu3 player base, this simply isn't true, the players this sever would serve wouldn't play on eu3 in the first place, the would stick to eu1/2 without this sever.

However this being a stepping stone sever may have the affect of these players then moving onto eu3 once they get use to the systems and the more serious nature of gameplay which acre and ace implement into the sever. This does affect eu3, but only through providing the opertunity for people to eventually come over, therefore it's a positive affect.

People have mentioned who would set up this sever, pay for it, admin it etc... this isn't suppose to be set in stone yet, this is the ideas box after all, meant for people to give across ideas for improving the community experience and gameplay opportunities throughout the sever. These questions can be worked out once the idea is agreed on fully by the staff of this place. Everyone is also entitled to their thoughts and views on the ideas listed in this section, everyone is part of the same community even if it doesn't affect them, however censorship of peoples ideas should never take place, just because they don't agree with your opinion doesn't mean there wrong.

In the past ahoyworld hasn't been afraid to set up new severs if the support is there for them. Lets look at the recent squad severs or even go back to the excile severs which we had up in the past when that mod was popular. We even had ksp severs at one point which a few members use to play on.

I would also like to get rid of the idea that eu3 is a huge step up for players who regularly play on eu1/eu2. In reality if you are playing on eu1/eu2 in a relativity co-operative manner, such as the zesus gamenights, then the step up isn't huge at all. The gameplay is relatively similar, with the main change being acre and ace. Yes there are weapon and vehicle mods but these are mainly visual. The changes of ACRE and ACE can be learnt in training gamenights which i'll be willing to help in again once exams are over in the summer, hence why i'm away a lot at the moment. The 20 GB of mods can be downloaded overnight, I don't really see the issue here. I know that people don't like overally controlling squad leaders or team leaders who come across as spiteful, but these people shouldn't be part of the eu3 experience, so any problem with people acting elite over being veteran players should be reports.

In conclusion I believe a stepping stone sever would easy the transition for players from eu1 / eu2 to eu3. Through learning acre and ace without the other mods, It may encourage people to then go on and try the full experience of eu3 without the huge step up which is sometimes off-putting to players.

    Hello Volkert.

There are a number of options to look at, we have two main non-modded severs, EU1 and EU2 which run the invade and annex missions. These involve the capture of towns on atlis, against various AI units. EU1 regualry has around 60 players on it and offers a varity of large scale battles. People who play on this sever co-opertivily are often on team speak leading to some small scale squads.
However EU3 offers the most co-opertivie gameplay in my opinion. It is our modded sever and currently runs guantlett, a mission structure ofcourse a varity of modded maps, leading to some intense fights against AI in a structure manner. Everyone on this sever is on teamspeak leading to fully co-operation, under the radio system of acre.

Navigate where highlighted (yellow circle), Then select your name

Select the UNIT tab then click edit,
Copy your player ID  (UID) they normally start with 76.

So i've read a few more posts, the less toxic and more useful ones, and I really began to see that so far the mods suggested pretty much are the mods on EU3 minus the map packs....

I smell something coming up here....

    Maybe that's just me.
Now before anyone says where did you get this info from Josh, I shall include it below.

    John suggested:

    ACE (http://www.armaholic...ge.php?id=28557)
    ACRE (http://www.armaholic...ge.php?id=11339)
    TFAR (http://www.armaholic...ge.php?id=23615)
    AH-64D  (http://www.armaholic...ge.php?id=28085)
    British Ridgeback PPV (http://www.armaholic...ge.php?id=27955)
    F-18 (http://www.armaholic...ge.php?id=22594)
    AK Pack (http://www.armaholic...ge.php?id=22862)

    Shax Suggested:

    RHS:USAF (2.5GB on its own....)

    EU#3:
    ACE
    ACRE/TFAR
    RHS are already on there

Now to break down some of the other suggested mods.
AH64D Is included in the CUP Packs which EU3 uses
F18 Hasn't been updated since 1.38 we're now on 1.56... Which makes things VERY unstable a liable to dangerous things.

Basically what i'm getting at here is that if you're going to do this new modded server make it SIMPLE forget all the uniforms, extra vehicles and shit.
Just use VANILLA arma with some extra stuff like JUST ACE and ACRE.TFAR if not go play EU#3 because TRUST me it really is not that strict there is no milsim bull shit. It is merely a structured TEAMPLAY style. No yes sir no sir bull.

Now as said before I support this idea. But I do NOT support it if you're gonna start adding loads of mods: Clothing, Vehicles and weapons because you do not need them for what you're saying.

    Good luck, Josh.

So much stuff I didn't read in this thread because of how negative it was.
Idea is solid and a good one. A possible new second modded server with minimal mods, people have said just ace and acre which would be good and easily maintained.
With this they already have many missions they could use on this server without heavy maintenance and VERY easy to add ace/acre too.
-I&A: more for the larger numbers, but could work.
-Gauntlet: altered for vanilla play on Altis and stratis. Also good for smaller numbers with it being a more side mission based game mode.
-Valiant: a wip by Christiansen now maybe he will shoot me out here as it not being. But as a new upcoming game ode I'm sure it could work.
Also I'd offer a service to set a mission up for this, the modded repo I don't think I'd be allowed to however it's easily done.
So my overall answer to this would be: yes, yes, yes.
Just don't go adding loads of weapons and maps and extra vehicles and shit into it. Keep it ace/acre and maybe some other ai tweaking stuff.
I've been here for 3 years and will always support a new server. Especially when it comes down to modded arma stuff. Even more so a break low level server between eu1/2 and 3.

    3144 connections
    2632 disconnections

Not sure how that one works probably an error of mine but it gives you an idea of how many people play on EU1
So we can say that's around 420 players a day on EU1 (I think I'm messing up somehow here but for the next part it won't really matter)

Kicks: 454 in total of these they break down into:

T'was a cold Easter morning, so I stayed in bed a little longer  . I went over to the lovely city of Leeds and visited the Royal Armoury Museum. If you're interested in all things guns, swords, pointy things, sharp things and shiny things then this is the place for you!
If you ever plan to visit car parking is not a problem and there's even some nice restaurants opening up to facilitate your belly.

Entry is free, unless your a tax paying British citizen then congratulations you've already paid!
So from walking in you're immediately greeted with an MG42! it's a kids play thing where you insert a quid into the slot and get to pew pew the bad guys. Looking up is impressive as you waft over to the reception desk you'll see a rather nice statue I was stupid enough NOT to take a picture of. Now me and my family were tipped off that there would be some jousting on display and after enquiring we had exchanged around a fiver each to see the three o'clock event. Book early to avoid disappointment and i should point out that I'm told jousting only really occurs around the Easter holidays. Who knew they had a world championship for hitting each other with lances on horseback?

Oh they also have actors pretending to be statues, here's a picture of a dude confusing the fuck out of the actor who probably thought we were in the same group.

First section! which also happens to be the shiny section.

above: Yes that's right, a moustache on a helmet, Italian designed but i can't remember much else on that one

below: Henry the 8th must've been a giraffe, his battle suit of armour stands really tall and now looking back at the picture, it's probably trickery, unless he really was a giraffe!

above: Apparently crotchless pants were a thing back in the day too. I don't have anything useful to say on this armour but I think it used to be a shiny blue, this pearlescent colouring was achieved by dangerously messing around with mercury while the armour was made.

below: Pointy things and horses making a great impact on the room. A rather impressive sight in person!

above: following on from the blue detailing of armour, here's the detail in somebody's knee plating, nothing is scarier than knee's with teeth!

below: again to follow on from the previous detailing pictures, this last one really shows that an armour craftsman is also an artist. When you go to the armoury, have a read into the manufacturing process of each type of technique employed to reach a certain look, fascinating!

above and below: a siege tower I'm sure that some of you interested in this era will already have seen, however for the un-initiated, this thing moves towards a wall, perhaps of a city or a castle. When it gets to the wall, the chaps inside release the ramp, climb the ladders and seek to destroy the defenders!

Stay tuned for videos of Jousting, a "hurdy gurdy" in action, guns! and oriental armour!

    here's a preview

Second note about this. EVERYONE IN THE COMMUNITY HAS THE RIGHT TO RESPOND TO A THREAD EVEN IF IT MIGHT NOT EFFECT THEM. Do not tell people that they can not/should not comment on a topic because they don't play on a certain server. I think that Ryko put it best. Let`s be honest, we all look at the model and say "this is a really nice model, great textures, great sound, great feature". Whoever says he doesn`t, is a liar (don`t take it to seriously).

I feel all the content being used on EU3 should be up to Arma 3 standards or better. Honestly, CUP isn`t. Let`s keep the standards high, content good.

I partially do agree with Amentes, it`s not ALL about the look, but keeping it on Vanilla A3 standards is a "must go" for all the current modders. If they don`t follow it, it`s most likely their mods won`t be used.

If the whole CUP pack would be on the level with RHS stuff, I would never be against the switch, but the current state of both mods favours RHS by a mile.

On changes overtime; what new players and members expect and what changes bring onto them.
Nor any idea shall be shut off under my watch!
I witnessed a couple times where members of EU#3 actually expressed their concerns or applaud about changes. Either way those concerns were listened by members and expressed on forums (yeah please use forums in that matter, don't have long chick-chats while we are on the mission). I encourage everyone to use forums for expressing their opinions and concerns. Every opinion will have its own conclusion with explanation for it.
Second part of conversation (~44:00) was about timing in training and gamenights which continued on forum style and organization. Maybe the problem relies with the site. I'm not sure. People don't like to go on forums trying to find thread. Maybe a side-site can help it out with all future events which are sliding like food in sushi restaurant, or fixed ones which are “highlighted”¹. Which brings the question who will organize the timeline or make those sushi dishes? We love to eat it, but how many of us actually know how to make a good sushi?

Suggestion: Primary gamenights with mission well described and thought have ribbons. Maybe that's the way we can attract more people to gamenights if population is concern. Then, on forums we can have drop down list with all ribbons near our name (with name of the gamenight as well as organizator name) which all can see. That way we give credit for members who played it and especially for hard work of members organizing it.

I want to thank @Origins for recording this meetup.

    EU#3 Temple

For centuries people gather around to share their experiences. And I remember those great rides. EU#3 was my morning that became night. I sound like I'm worshipping these four symbols. Every time I've entered that temple I felt diversity of what I can accomplish, unlocking all my abilities to make great moments and memories.
But now, I won't feel at home. I know I'll struggle at the re-beginning. Peace of mind won't come with my skills, It will come with people surrounding me; fighting for same cause. I know I'll have someone to lift me up when I fall.
For all of us the new players, AW's EU#3 is the place where together, through effort we can accomplish everything. That is the feeling having a great supportive Community. Joke: No It's not group therapy.
I'm sad I can't talk much on gameplays take. I still have to catch up and justify Ambassador title which I was entitled to. I want to give all the support for members of Ahoy Community, the support I've had when stood the ground thinking I'm alone.

There were struggling times when people just don't visit EU#3 at all. I was really sad seeing people go playing something else or living their life. This weekend I'm surrounded by warmth seeing EU#3 TS channel all popped with players.

Now, let's go for another ride, shall we?

Sad to see you leave over this little incident.
Should've just used common sense and listened to our newly installed surpreme leader.

It was clearly explained last night to you that if you were to get banned again it would be a permanent one. I entered the EU1 channel to start playing to find you and two others being disruptive by playing wasteland, crossed comms is no fun for anyone & instructed you to make your own channel in the other games (this is exactly what it's for) and you did. Then you came back and started again, I told you not to do it up in the EU1 channel to which you said words to the effect of "Well I am and you can't ban me for it". Guess what, I can & did. I decided to be generous and give you only a week instead of a permanent one that you were due.
