  1. Thank you for your kind words. I understand we're a bunch and may annoy some people, but you can't win them all I suppose. At the end of the day, we do want to see the best out of the community and are always on board to try and help. Thanks for your work.
  2. Future Stiletto Gamenight? Could easily be arranged, IDAP guys will need a custom arsenal though for their equipment as well as a stern talk on actually following the Laws of War.
  3. I have also though about this and would adore an RP humanitarian scenario.
  4. I've deffo got some questions for this, particularly about a Squad server as I have some ideas to make it stand out from the crowd. As always, good to see stuff like this getting set up, helps bring the community together.
  5. 1: All of the above dependent on what the mission requires. Whoever is in charge should always take in the human factor, and actually determine what course of action is needed taking civilian property and lives and indeed the lives of his own men into account. I.E charging a town guns blazing isn't going to get you very far if you don't know what you're going up against as well as calling in an airstrike 400m away from friendlies is a good way to get them killed if something goes wrong. Overall, I prefer to play realistically and seriously, taking in different factors to ensure a mission gets done the way it should get done without wasting too many assets or destroying civilian property. The best thing about Stiletto is the persistence and variety, and ignoring the civilians (aiming guns at them, killing them, not protecting their property) is a great way to fuck the mission up. 2: I like missions where it's not a clear victory, missions that actually require one to fall back and VALUE their lives rather than put the objective before the men. The serious Stiletto missions are very fun and the most recent one was very enjoyable when we essentially failed our mission and had to fall back. Subsequently leading to Vortex getting shot down besides a town inhabited by Special Forces. It's things like these that make Stiletto so fantastic, and that if one fails their mission, it actually leads to amazing opportunities for gameplay that you just don't get if you get tunnel vision on winning the game all the time. TL:DR - I am a serious player that likes serious but different gameplay to what we normally do.
  6. Kunduz 043 Capture HVT Mission - HVT attempted to kill me by throwing a grenade, I went to seek cover and Noah killed him. Task would not finish after that.
  7. That would be the puppy right there. I believe the US Military are aiming to get that sort of magazine (Magpul/40rd) as a NATO STANAG magazine to replace current older issue 30rd. Magpul's are already flooding the military anyway but I believe many if not all are bought with a soldier's pay wage.
  8. US Military is trying to update the NATO Standardisation (STANAG) to use 40rd magazines for 5.56 rifles, CMAG has already made designs and CMAG in general will probably be the next NATO Standardisation. Not to mention that they want to get a more lethal round anyway, but creating a new cartridge is expensive and 7.62x51 NATO proves too heavy and frankly dangerous as the Falklands War proved. I believe the plan was to try and use 6.5mm such as ArmA 3 shows as the NATO STANAG, though if this is the case, it's going to take a while to go through and take effect. If 7.62x51 was to become a NATO STANAG round for the Rifleman (because civilian property isn't a priority), the British Armed Forces DMR design or perhaps a HK417 design may soon become a regular service rifle. However I highly doubt NATO will want to use said caliber as a regular round, like I said, too dangerous.
  9. Heckler and Koch are a great company, not just in the sense of making firearms but just business in general. They took Europe by storm and now with them having a large factory in America to specifically make military issues firearms, it's safe to say they are taking America by storm. M27 is a good rifle, it's highly accurate and capable of area suppression with higher accuracy compared to the M249 SAW which is why it was considered to replace the rifle all together. I mean, you've got a 16 inch barrel on that puppy so the Marines have got two 16 inch guns to be playing with. It wouldn't surprise me if the rifle also replaces the M249 SAW all together, seeing as it is getting old and many Marine variants are not getting properly maintained. Having a rifle that can suppress an area more accurately and reliably is a great benefit while also needing to accurately suppress with less rounds meaning less ammo is chewed through in battle. Lastly it means that Marines walking through mountainous terrain do not need to worry about a heavy rifle and ammunition load. Main issue with the above point is, though it sounds good on paper, in the heat of battle the idea of "less rounds, more accuracy" is thrown out the window. The L85 LSW being a strong example. We'll have to see how it plays out, the US Marines are incredibly under funded so it may take a while for it to take good effect. Regardless, I'm sure the USMC are happy to have a new weapon system that will be easier and hopefully cheaper to maintain while giving all the pro's a H&K firearm can give you.
  10. Welcome to AWE. If you joined for Milsim you may be mistaken with AWE, it's semi-realism so people have a lot more freedom to play how they want, even if you view it as a little silly or stupid. The MSO would be more for you if you want more focus on realism and restricted equipment. If we were in a realist situation with the loadouts, people would only have bandages and tourniquets period, no drugs or IV equipment. There are no specific rules per say on medical equipment, but it is expected that you carry a reasonable amount so that the Medic still has a role and you are not being a one man army. If you're like me, you'd only carry 6 bandages (2 Packing, 2 Elastic and 2 Quikclot) with 2 tourniquets and no drugs at all. This is a realistic IFAK based on the in service one 2012 onwards (2012 being when RHS is set). I find carrying less makes me less inclined to lone wolf and get my ass handed to me which some people may be willing to do when they are a one man army. Of course, you're not forced to carry this stuff and that's what makes AWE a fun place to play. Though there may be stupid amounts of equipment on people at times, you just have to respect their way of playing, AWE is designed to have freedom of choice and playstyle. There may not be much emphasis on the medics, but they are always welcome and provide a big help. Particularly if you play with me and find yourself getting trapped in some pretty hectic situations.

Formation flying on ArmA 3 is always good fun provided the Desync Gods are okay with it.
  12. This would be interesting, though adding in some form of timer before the spawn point is taken will probably be better so that a hostile civilian or stray enemy doesn't just delete the fob if they wander in. I'm always up for "creating a mission out of no mission" so to speak such as FOB defence, the possibility of such a thing blows all missions out of the park and makes Stilletto golden for endless opportunities.
  13. I'd say CUP isn't needed, I don't care about the mod size myself because people always complain about the repo size but technically removing mods and adding new ones even if they are smaller is technically making the repo mod size larger. Besides, we have plenty of variety already. All the mods listed could be thrown away, only one I'd sadly say goodbye to is the F-18 as it's been a dependable fast mover since EU3 day one and has never let me down in my thousands of hours on ArmA. The rappelling mod could be quite nice though I could see people abusing it for giggles and subsequently glitching stuff. Overall though, it would lead to some interesting scenarios i'm sure. Towing would also be quite useful to retrieve vehicles. Additionally while we're on the subject of mods and scripts, @Jochem has been working on a physical inventory mod not to mention that @J0hnson also pointed one out to me. The mod in question allows you to get supply boxes and load them physically onto a vehicle or pallet and load said pallet into a vehicle to double the storage. I feel this sort of thing would be great for Logistics and would also bump up gear size as well as organise it for large missions where returning to base isn't desired.
  14. I've used the UAV op a few times on Stilletto, you should be able to utilise an array of UAV's with it including the Raven. Just because it's in Platoon doesn't mean it can't be used, if ASL or whoever is leading is okay with it then knock yourselves out. It's obviously a great role for Recon and sometimes even CAS if required.
  15. The last thing that went through the gunner's mind was the commanders left leg.

I say we create an AW mutiny until Ryko adds this as a feature.
  17. The amazing thing about Stilletto is the freedom to do what you want with your loadouts, many people may tell you what to take but it goes without saying that you should be taking what you are comfortable with. A weapon I have been comfortable with on EU3 day one edition and I'm sure other players will be comfy with is the M16A4 Rifle. It shoots true and accurate and has plenty enough stopping power to kill 80% of your foes with 1 round to the chest. Pair this with an Acog and you have a weapon capable of making incredibly accurate shots to down a foe in an average of 1-3 rounds at ranges between point blank - 600m effective. Maximum range I have acquired a 1 shot kill with said rifle is approximately 850m though this requires a little more expertise with the weapon. If you're going CQB, invest in a side arm. Pressing a button to change to it (I use 3 on the hotkey) is MUCH quicker than reloading. Many people will say a side arm is added weight with no reward, but unless you're like me and can count more times a side arm has saved my life than a friendly has, you can bet your ass its a good call. I'd recommend the RHS M9 Beretta with FMJ rounds, it's hard hitting at close range and dumping a few well placed rounds into the enemy will indeed save your life a lot quicker than reloading while he admires your form through his iron sights. Honestly, if you want a solid simple loadout that will do everything you ever need to do on Stiletto with no nonsense, no bullshit then just refer to @J0hnson simple grunt loadout. At the end of the day, AWE is more of a semi-realism server and there isn't a ton of rules dictating what you MUST take. Take what you are comfortable using, there is a lot in the arsenal meaning there may seem like there is a lot to take in but keep your horizons close. Set your sights on a few targets and try those out, finding a few bits of kit that you can grow to love and be effective with.
  18. I'm glad to see these type of organised "regular mission" gamenight's come back! Man, I believe the last time we had one of these was back on Gauntlet in the early .30's versions.
  19. US Army no longer spawns the M-ATV. (This is a modern, realistic vehicle and I don't see a reason to remove it) Issue was found on Kunduz. Bunch of TFAR issues not really worth addressing I'm sure you already know of them. Tembelan isn't configured for organic terrain, Enemies run through rocks and hide inside them plus foliage isn't as concealed as it should be but minor issues considering how good the map seems to be. Kunduz suffers from bad FPS when looking directly at the floor or in certain directions, issue is only persistent for certain players at certain times. Additionally the AO's on Kunduz are not in the areas they are marked in. Rally Points seem to be very on and off, sometimes they work whereas many times they don't.
  20. That's an oldie. I haven't seen that sort of bug since my ArmA 2 days, or at least ArmA 3 Alpha. Then again, it's not been that foggy most time's I've played let alone on hilly terrain that usually causes this.

Good lord what have you done!? Tax payers expense makes the fly boys very happy
  22. Some more friendly stuff for Logi would be nice to make things easier. A logi pilot could be useful but isn't really that necessary, I find using the vortex's to do the job is simple enough and will limit ground forces to using ground vehicles, thus creating a scenario that isn't always done. I've always been a fan of doing recon and doing some legwork between AO's to occupy my guys while a logi will set up for a FOB or, much like @GrandBravo and @Adshield the other day, completely build one from scratch. This took around 30 minutes in total to create a heavily detailed and defensive FOB to use, time which was still occupied by Alpha because we were issued with recon and a few AO's. Logistical support is usually used by most players as a sort of Mobile MHQ from CTI, only difference is it's not mobile. I usually see people just build a spawn point and a car spawn and then that's it, simple lads. Though this is fine I prefer to sink some detail into the FOB's, giving logi the pleasure of building one up and having supplies manually brought in by Vortex while the rest of the people do an AO or two. I do believe FOB defenses could be pretty fun, I get pretty bored of when someone ASL's and will constantly rush to leave base, sit on a hill watching an AO and shooting it then RTB'ing then rinse and repeat. I much prefer to take my time and let the fun come to me rather than rush out looking for it and paying the price, as buggy as ArmA 3 AI can be, they're still pretty smart in their tactics if their not on a stupidly easy difficulty and I think having to defend the FOB from attacks so we can keep using it would be good. Ambient AI surely does the job, but usually Ambient AI is limited to a few squads or easier yet, a squad inside a truck making one big soft target. I miss the days when Ambient AI used to throw out armor pieces and cluster-fucks of infantry, really forcing you to either fall back or dig in and fight.
  23. That must be some high quality fabric to weigh 3kg! It's like my luscious thick hair, heavy enough to be used as a paper weight in a hurricane.
