    Hi everyone,

    Over the last year and a bit I've put a lot of my free time into Ahoyworld.  Right now the time has come for me to take a step back and leave the staff team, I'll be taking a break of an undetermined length. This because I've been spending just a bit too much of my free time as Ahoyworld staff.  I need to get my priorities, like my real life, straight again. There are no hard feelings between me and anyone from the staff team.  You'll still see me around on teamspeak and on the server but as just another player.  
     
    I'd like to thank everyone for my time on the staff team, I truly enjoyed it.

    First off, this post is being made with the best interests of AW in mind. Be aware there is a good chance I WILL be name dropping in this post. Take it as you will.

    You are the definition of condescending, and also the definition of every word under that. You should be nowhere near the Admin team, you might as well have paid money to get your tag. Just because someone can code and submit player reports does not make them an immediate candidate for an Admin. I, myself, actually worked my way up the ranks, from member>FA>Spartan>Admin. I also earned the respect of those around me.
    Unlike you Stan, who jumped from FA>Admin in about a month or less. I’m fairly sure the consensus in the team when you applied was to let you in because you’d be useful as a coder, and most of us had no idea who you were at the time. Also I love how you just ripped me off the Public mod team without talking to me.
    Just my 2 cents on you.

    COMMUNICATE AND INTERACT. In my time as an Admin you guys just can't do that. People get promoted to CS and just disappear into the wilderness and never interact with the community anymore - you leave that to the Admins. Also, whenever I brought something to you guys I more often than not never got an answer back. Also what happened to that huge meeting we had a month back now? Just lost in the system I guess Origins. AhoyWorld is burning and you guys just sit around.
     
    Admins: The true MVPs, you guys put up with most of the shit, but not all of you. Some of you also suffer from the communication and interaction disease. A lot of complaints I got was that the team wasn't open to the community at all with what was going on, and as per usual, this issue was brought up, chatted about and then nothing happened just like with everything else. Nothing will happen because of this post.
     
    I'm just being extremely blunt here.
     
    Anyone who knows me  knows I wouldn't be typing any of this unless there was a real issue. Hide this post if you want, issue me a warning point, whatever; but know this, a lot of people are with me on this as you’ll see it happen before your eyes. You will just be shooting yourself in the foot.
     
    These days this is the only way the get you guys to listen, so I would hope this turns into a nice post debating about all these issues - not a shit flinging thread.

    i think this approach is rather lopsided when it comes to how the teams are gone be used. So I suggest that you instead have a squad setup like this.
    ASL
    Alpha squad lead
    Intel operative
    Weapons specialist (allow him to use bolt-action rifles and mawws and mortars)
    And a weapons assistant
    And let A1/2 remain the way they where.

    AR
    ENGI
    LAT
    MEDIC
    This will make the squad balanced so the alpha teams can be used interchangeably instead of the current system where one team is extremely heavy on AT and the odder team has the only engineer.

    I've been messing with the new RHS update for a few hours now so I figured I might as well do something productive;
     
    So I've made a list of the new content that could be added to AWE (to save someone's time hopefully).

    (I have not added ALL the classnames for each new item since some may not be suited for AWE, according to previous discussions and not necessarily my own opinion (such as the new pink pilot helmets). However, it would be a shame to see some of the new helmets left out.

    I've been thinking about ideas for a different squad setup for Stiletto. Currently we have a 14-man squad setup consisting of three teams. I'd like to reduce that to an 8-man squad consisting of one team.
     
    Initially I'd suggest:
     
    Squad Leader
    Team Leader
    EOD
    Engineer
    Marksman
    Medic
    Autorifleman
    Autorifleman
     
    The basic idea is that Stiletto, with it's multiple-mission setup, lends itself well to sending teams to different areas.
     
    The 8-man squad retains the roles of the 14-man squad, while trimming down the fat. The remaining 6 persons are then easily switched into the next squad down the line.
     
    This means we'll see tighter squads more suitable for many of the Stiletto missions, while any larger operation can be accomplished using multiple squads. I'd expect that Platoon would be populated earlier under this setup, leaving the SLs free to handle their teams.
     
    I was also playing around with the idea of not having a designated Team Leader. This would mean that Squad Lead, at any time, can nominate a player as TL. TL could be replaced by a "Pointman", a role designed around being the first guy through the door. Possibly with a shotgun.
     
    I'm posting this with the expectation of starting a discussion on the subject. Constructive feedback please

    Stiletto has been updated to version 10. Didn't include notes for 9 I believe so here they all are:

    4. Towns no longer spawn civilians if you fly over them, only if you are on foot or drive into them

    Right so this topic is gonna be completely ranting about AWE and maybe suggesting some things to change.  This is me talking as a player who plays on AWE.  I'm not a modded moderator and i'm not talking as an admin.  This is in no way shape or form anything official from AhoyWorld.  It's 100% my personal opinion.

    First and foremost: people DO NOT listen to orders.  I've played 1 AO today in that time the following things happend.
    I told vortex 2 to reslot for the very simple reason that there weren't enough player online to have a vortex 2.  Instead of reslotting they did 5 minutes of i know what before coming to me to complain that there is often a vortex 2 with that amount of people on.  Yes there are absolutely right.  However the ASL or platco present at the time would have, hopefully, explicitly told that vortex that he allowed them to brake said rule.  Me telling them to reslot clearly shows that i will not let you brake set rule.  So don't come whining to me and just pick a different slot.
    I also told MAT to take a MAAWS, 15 minutes later i see them running around with a SWAM.  Might not seem like a big deal, and if they would have asked me whether or not they could take a SWAM i wouldn't have made a problem out of it, it's the same thing.  However it pisses me off if you just take something else behind my back.  Later i also sawy said FSG team abuse the weight system by running around with an ammo box.
    During that whole AO FSG didn't bother calling me even once over long range.  And yet they managed to engage to my knowledge at least 1 piece of enemy armor.  Last time i check default ROE is to only fire when fired upon.  And also last time i checked FSG should, unless explicitly told to, always be behind alpha.  Take 3 guesses where they were?  In front of alpha without ever hailing me.  When i noticed this i told them to stay behind alpha and engage any armor that threatened alpha.  Not that this was after they already killed stuff.
    Another thing, vortex was on every drop asking if he could do CAS.  I believe it's specifically mentioned in the rules that you can only do this at the briefing.  And at the briefing i told him to get in a CAS bird that was also capable of transport and that i'd tell him when he needed to go back to base to pick reinserts up.  Every time he asked if he could stay and do CAS instead of simply asking what he needed to do.
    And what maybe annoyed me to most, i was giving orders to alpha 1 to advance while alpha 2 covered them.  It took 5 minutes before alpha 1, well only the acting TL, managed to move to the position i told them to.  Which was 15m away.  If there is any reason why you can't advance just let ASL know.  People always complain how parts of the plan aren't clear and how SLs have to give more info.  But that's a 2 way street, info needs to go both down and up.  If you don't tell me why you can't advance i'm gonna presume that there is no viable reason.
    Also if i tell Alpha 1 to advance i don't mean alpha 1-1 i mean the entire bloody alpha 1 team.  If you can't get you team to follow you i suggest to next time not take the TL role and attend a training session about team leading or stay close to your TL and ask for some tips and tricks.

    And then one final thing i want to rant about: in the last few days i've submitted more player reports/day on people on enhanced than i've ever done on any of the public servers.  From all those player reports i've heard back that something has happend.  Not that i didn't provide enough evidence or that what i reported wasn't something that didn't need any moderator attention.

    Final thing i want to say:  No i am not perfect.  I'm not even in the same solar system  as perfect.  But talking trash about me behind my back isn't gonna help me improve at being ASL at all.  And if you talk trash about me behind my back, make sure i cannot hear it.

    what dues the new color codes on the towns on stelleto mean?  (sony pointed it our for me)
     also i think that intel is too few and far betwen (in this version).
     and there are to meny armed enemies at the start of the game, like a regular foot patrole becomes a combat partrole insted
    ( there migth be some discrepancies in this findings due to unknown civilan catualties)
     
    also a shift in mindset for squad leaders and infatery alike is necessary in my opinion
     
    edit there are way to meny areas on the map that are in red/ black collor witch might explane the hevy enemy presence in moste of the missions
     
    edit 2  is there a reason that the new squad creation system requies 3 caracters for the call sign? also the eod spsialist can not be selected in the squad creation menu. also call sing for the costume group is not working properly the call sign i used was EOD and it appeard as CST

    it's random for eu3 /AWE it usually starts up at 17.00 cest and usually ends at 23.00 also note that today there is MSO which will take almost all of the players from eu3

    my sugestion as always is to have minimum of 2 enginers or eod experts per squad to lighten the work load of the current only 1 enginer
     
    also is there a way to have somthing to give you information on threat level on the ground  ( wen it comes to how often exblosives are placed of if the locals hate us)

    I'm going to flag my own comment here as being potentially slightly off topic - but it's important to say it.
    In response to various people staying there are issues with discipline, with people fucking around, bad fragging, driving around spawn:
     
    If you don't tell us it's happening we don't know about it. If you see something like this, file a report. Or report it to a moderator. 
     
    Not doing anything makes you as much of the problem as them. Perhaps we should train people in how to report actions like this so we can crack down on it?

    While we wait for a possible training session in discipline, I give one note. If you try to live by: stfu and do as your told, we all would benefit from that. If ur bored, alt tab and play minesweeper while waiting and don't fuck around in the game. I'm also getting tired of this behavior as well, and if we can be stricter about it, I will start handing out a lot of kicks/temp bans or teleport the noisy ones out on a island until they calm down.
