To be honest never happens when the command isn't slacking.
I just walk up to the box and scream loudly state that we're going in 3 minutes counted from now and everybody not in the heli stays home.
Obviously then there are cases of planning & technical difficulties but that doesn't happen that often.

As Ryko said, radar (include also radio tower and weapons depo) need to be destroyed with explosives with M183 (satchel) or M112 (simple charge it will take more charges).

The only ocasion where 3 M112 weren't enough to blow a radar was one occasion that we basically "wasted" a full explosives crate on it and it was still standing, and before someone says that I (and the people there) don't know how to place the explosives correctly...you are wrong.
In that particular ocasion somehow the radar was bugged in the connection to the ground, and since you cant really place the charges on the object (they wont stick and fall to the ground), it took ALOT to take it out (it was like 1-2 satchels + 3-4 charges all blown at once).

But hey, if 3 M112 doesn't cut it (as it should), drop a crate on it and watch the fireworks.

    Hey guys,

Thanks for your feedback.  Please note that the mission names are dynamically generated - so the next time this comes up it is not likely to be called Black Anvil.

It's been destroyed in the past, you just have to make sure you get the charges close enough to the radar.  An M183 satchel is usually enough; I'm not sure how many M112's you'd need, and if you use M112s you'd need to blow them up at the same time.  Rocket launchers won't have any effect on it.

It seems like the mission "Black Anvil" on Zargabad is bugged. It is about destroying some radar-installation but for us it was impossible to destroy it. We tried it with launchers, demo charges and even Tow but nothing did any damage as it seemed.

I've read in many places Ryzen is more of a competitor for Intel's video editing processors. I'm sure an i5 or i7 would suffice. But if you have the money, go for it. That said, don't get an i3.

The problem with that Airfield missions is that it gets old pretty quickly, even though it is fun mission. We get it almost each time we go Stratis.

    Few more suggestions:
    Ammo box in base:
    (mentioned before)
*Change 200Rnd M855A1 for (Mixed) variation.
*Add 6.5 and 5.56 CUP variation.
*Move the box on Cherno closer to Arsenal.
    (new)
*Change NLAW - currently it has preloaded Dummy Missile. Use both CUP and BI variation.
    *Add CUP AT4(M136) as well
*I dont think the boxes need 200x each ammo type. 50x should be enough and it will make space for more different ATs (and possibly help server load times?). In general the number of stuff could be lowered, half of the time it is not used at all. And if it is, we use like 10% (except the missiles) of one box( and we have three boxes).

I would be happy to get a chance to look at the code for mission selection (I am really curious how stuff like that works for ArmA so I can get into mission making with proper background knowledge).

Tbh, anyone with a tag should be sufficient to help you if they want. Sure, you probably get a more all-round treatment from the Mods/admins/etc, that specialize in that and I would always go to them with technical issues,  but for these kind of IG questions you should find loads of people to help out. As said above, just poke them in TS and see who responds.
For AWE especially, there are people with a "dog tag" tag in TS, which marks them as AWE Veterans. They should be able to answer 99% of your AWE questions.

If you manage to get in a squad, talked to your Team Leader and maybe tell him you're new, at least for your first 3-4 Ops. According to my experience, we have quite a few newbie-friendly Team Leads online on a daily basis. It's just important they KNOW so they can look out for you. If they don't know, they will just assume you know what you're doing.

Jorgensen73 reacted to SkullCollector in AWE Repo Consistent Naming
With the last repo update for EU3 AWE, we had 16 GB of updated stuff thrown at us.

How A3Sync works is that it checks for folder names, so when it can't find the one from the repo server in your Arma directory, it is blind to everything else, even if it's just a tiny revision. So if you had ACE 3.6.0.0, then 3.6.1.0 comes along and changes a couple PBOs, the rest should be unaffected and the download would be a few MB at most to replace just those. But if the version number were in the folder name, A3Sync would look for @ACE_3.6.1.0, but only find @ACE_3.6.0.0, ignore it and proceed to download the entire mod again.

That's mildly annoying for small mods such as ACE, but absolutely infuriating in the case of RHS or CUP.

If you know about this, you can rename the mods in question yourself, but most players will either not be aware of it or do not comprehend the procedure. It's tedious as, if you mix up your dashes and your underscores, you'll have achieved nothing.
My proposal thus is to rename all mods with version numbers or otherwise variable names on the repo server itself. @CUP_Terrains_Core-1.3.0, for example, will then become @CUP_Terrains_Core. @ProjectOPFOR was re-downloaded because it now has an underscore in it, so if things like that remained consistent from now on, we could save a bit of traffic.
All future repo downloads of this week's magnitude would be cut down by gigabytes with a quick global change.

That's not to say to go out of your way to do so now. Perhaps just bear it in mind for the next update cycle.

    Cheers.

I am often amazed of how much time can be wasted in the arsenal. I have full respect for if there is a new player it takes some time to set up, but very often I see players  just playing around and wasting time. Driving ATVs, doing all the different poses, or climbing different objects. I have seen many players disconnect after waiting 15-25 minutes by the arsenal. I once waited over 40 minutes, but then couldn't take it anymore and logged of. And also observed that this kind of attitude goes over to "new" players who look up to experienced players.
I think that there should be more serious game attitude, and we should set an example of that. I remember playing on EU1, Teamleader gave 5 minutes to set up, then everyone should line up in a crouch position by their respective squad. Info was given about mission, and if anyone had questions, now was the time. Then of too a helicopter, and mission start.
Is it an idea to have some A1, A2, MAT.. Signs to keep things in order?
I also think that the above attitude has some impact on the reservation of taking on the role of ASL, or Teamleader.
I know that if we are a tight, well lead team, have a good plan, then the different missions are so much more fun to play. Dirty Snape, Nicholai, Kman, Benjamin are good examples to mention some.
If we start out with some structure then I am sure that the rest will come natural.
I love playing with the Ahoy team, but feel that the Enhanced server could be so much more, just with small adjustments. Hope this doesn't offend anyone, but rather motivates them to be a bit more serious.

When the troops are slacking around its 8/10 because command is slacking around. But remember, they too sometimes need to go AFK..

Rest 2/10 are disconnects in command structure / vortex or re-slotting due to multiple players leaving/joining, that can't be rly prevented.

Yes, there is a lot of idle time as said, so if there's nothing to do, players will very rapidly find something to do. However, you will quickly notice that with a clear call to rally, most everyone will be eager to step off.

If there's no willing leader to take charge, you're more than welcome to provide the boot for the arse kicking. That goes to everyone. Just because you're not at the top of the hierarchy, that doesn't mean you're not allowed to look after some structure.

All it usually takes is someone giving a loud 'Lets get going' to give everyone the kick up the arse they need. Most of the time people are procrastinating because they think they are waiting for a plan or transpot etc, when everyone does this is when the problem starts. Of course it helps if teamleads and squad leads hurry everyone along as well.

This has been a talking point multiple times, and for the record, it's better now than it was 8 months ago. If anyone have any suggestions on how to cut down idle time and increase play time, reply.
