    just sat on Amoni hill observing the factory obj when my Prowler got hit 3 times just up close to it out of no where ... when i was walking away from the (now unusable) vehicle i got hit 2m off my current pos

    Now,i accused a Mk6 gunner at first,but seeing how close those explosions came (i cant even verify what caliber it was - RPG/Mortar shell/etc) but seeing 3 AW people with "certain" powers are online i m quite certain where it came from ...

    Tragic fact,i cant prove anything and as i got no access to verfiy statements of ... well,in short - i doubt anything happens on a ARMA server without a admin being able to find out

    But it speaks volumes (to me).

    Go figure ...

  2. Seeing as this base template is now being used in I+A 3.2.8+ i´d like to suggest to add a sort of "load up" position where people with vehicles can access a Arsenal/crate  in order to supply their needs.

    It doesnt have to be WW3 rdy with massive HESCOs and fancy stuff,just keep it simple.

    Plus i´d like to know where the exact positions for repair/refuel/rearm (service) are located on the current template.

    I could of check that out ingame,but the presence of publics around my car makes me feel uncomfortable to do so.

    So,pls update me.

    as a long term luver and player of I+A ever since i stepped a foot on EU1# i feel you ignore the fact that for over 2 years the base was located mid of map either on the airfield or right nxt to it,as it made sense from a gameplay pov.

    Then I+A 3 came and with it the idea of "capturing the invade part" better translated over to the user.

    Which most (pub)players never gave a fuck about.

    And here we are now,stuck with (at best) 4 base´s aka spawn locations and the logistic trouble is real.

    I´m not even talking about the performance part,but let me say this:

    I´ve seen plenty of mission run time when I+A 2.x was played - i´ve never seen all 4 FOBs being live on I+A 3 without a admin spawning em.

    In short,the whole point of the FOBs was BS and i called it.

     

    For the part of what "suits" I+A - í´d leave that to the bureaucrats,i m more interested in a well play out mission than a fitting name for the child.

    i agree,the default loadout of (liftable) ammo crates is questionable.

    but,thats a minor edit issue and can easily be changed/added

    the RPG7 is not only useless,it s also classified as classic insurgent weapon to western forces and therefor FF issues may raise if we spread it on a wider level.

    PCML (shruggs) or RPG42 would be my top of the cake.

    Then there s the "limited space" issue,those crates dont really pack alot of stuff like you intend,i m sure you d be surprised if you try it out.

    For fun facts,just try to empty such a crate and fill it yourself like you suggested and report back with a screenshot of inventory after.

    Like said,you d be surprised.

    If you cant invest the time to load your vehicle with your stuff you need on your operations i dont see the return value to invest precious dev time to make that happen to spare you 2min preparation time.

    What if i told you that your take on the situation is flawed?

    I learned to keep my vehicle off pub crowds/reinforcements/anyone_i_dont_know @ my 2nd day on EU1#.

    You need to adapt your plan to the current situations ingame.

    Works for me,at least.

    And about the locks on vehicles,sounds reasonable but that conflicts with the way AW always managed the (public) servers and this is the no mod requirement to play and that´s just fine.

    I agree the pilots lack a certain idea of logistics 85% of time and have no intention to uphold a logistic chain at most.

    Then you have the occasional pilots that take 15min to load their choppers only to be shot a few min after and all their load effort was useless.

    Or,like i experienced,you fly a few hours with all sorts of ammo and none even requests it as they prefer to respawn and be reinserted,then you get shot down.

    There´s no way this can be enforced by AW at all.

    The players need to change or simply JUST DO IT.

    Its always best to start by yourself first and see if people will follow your path.

    Again,that´s what i´d do.

    Apart from the fact i see Ammo Supply trucks and Prowlers driven by several people all over Altis daily.

    Maybe check the map more or adress certain people by chat you know doing just that regualry and the chance to get a supply drastically changes to your favour (at times).

    Or,supply on dead enemies.

    Again,i do that regulary - any chance i find gear on dead enemies  i deem usable i take it.

    it boils down to the point it was possible to edit your mission to the point you could fasttime the night via mission script and BI broke that by a early patch (1.02?)

    Ever since we need to rely on admins/ZEUS to fasttime manually.

    there was no intention to critic your efforts in any way from my side,be assured

    I´m in general unhappy about expanding that certain mission as it was perfecto as it was (even with outdated markers/code system)

    Still,i prefer a (exact/close as possible) remake of the mission if at all or rename the mission differently.

    Its also a kind of respect thing,partly.

    I repeat myself here,the mission was perfect as it was and there´s no need to enhance it in any way.

    If you remake it,i prefer to let it play out as similar as it gets to the orginal.

    That´s my most important point.

     

    And yea,a dedicated group can prop clear the mission in 10min or less.

    Still,i m witnes´ing people daily searching for more than 1h+ and 75% of em have the houses marked.

    And why not have the "report" key on right mouse button? way way more handy than pressing T (which is missile lock "only" on my config).

    About 65-70% of my keys are double or triple assigned to several actions for bein on either foot/vehicle or air.

  9. First of all imo there s no real current need for (even) more side missions - aside from the fact that we got

    • Search & Rescue
    • Destroy Prototype Tank
    • Destroy Weapon Shipment

    added not to long ago and for the fact side misions are not ment to attract a great percentage of the playerbase in the first place.

    Then dont forget several new AO prioritys got added not so long ago,too

    • Anti Air battery
    • Factory

    so i really dont see any lack of workload in the mission at all.

    ofc most people appreciate a new attraction by the addition of a few more side missions,but like i began to lay down  side missions were never ment/intended to occupy a high amount of players and are in the first place ment to enable coop on small levels (Squad/Group sized and even for the usual lonewolf) and therefor i d appreciate to not add necessarily (generic) ideas that have no value to the mission.

    Quality > Quantity

    Thats what the focus should be on.

    Speaking of quality,let me get offtopic shortly to give you a example for my before done statement:

    AAF forces now got addtional vehicle support,so the no AT requirement is out of the window now and while in the old mission the estimated cache location was signaled by the mission marker @map this was updated too to have it bit more randomized - but it turns out that now each time i see a team go for this mission about 75% of their mission time is wasted on searchign house to house for that cache,there s no hint or similar indicating what (object of cache) or where you may have a chance to find the cache.

    Also,while the old mission was limited to only 2 (great) city locations (Kavalala and Pygros) the new updated version now uses the whole Altis map to pick a random city to spawn the mission on.

    I mean,there was a reason they chose those 2 cities to have this kind of mission play out well.amirite?

    Its a bit like my CoCa CoLa argument,they tried introducing a new flavor and therefor make a new generation of CoCa CoLa but most customers prefered the original flavor and therefor the new Generation  Coke was dropped.

    Get my point?

    Newer isnt necessarily better.

     

    I ll leave it at this for the moment,i may add/update later more - if i feel the need to.

    But yea,my suggestion is pretty obvious:

     

    No more new side missions just to raise the count of said,quality > quantity

    And if you feel the need to have a hostage/rebel/doomsday scenario for your pers. kicks and enraisement,call a ZEUS to make a mission.

    Focus on enhancing AO enemy count more,bring back the MBTs to AOs and maybe add Predator/Minotaurus or whatever those truck AA´s are callled to AO

    My grenade key is MOUSE KEY 6,voice activation is MOUSE KEY 5,etc.

    And i disabled the (Z)eus key about 10 months ago.

     

    The great thing about ARMA is that you can double/triple map your keys to your liking anytime.

    Just takes 10min of your time.

    I did called out in chat for a ZEUS or admin to look into the actual situation.

    All i got was 2 (!) ZEUS´s that told me the exact same thing.

    Which is they cannot act on it.

    I dont expect a immidiant reaction by admins by default.

    But,given the past history (of mine) i did expected a proper handling of  said situation.

     

    And good call Amentes and Copey - thats just the response i expected from the (higher Tiers) above ZEUS team.

    In short - the response "fuck you" comes to mind.

    There s plenty of times i connected to TS with issues to handle and got told of by Staff (we look into it,cant do anything as rules say blablabla,etc) so exuse me when i got my doubts about the support of Staff in those matters.

    And screw your ruleset when you cant even rely on gut feeling to handle such a thing.

    In fact,i now wasted 3h of my life by this (discussion ingame,make forum post,reply now,etc.)

    For a video game reward.

    And what did it got me?

    Shit smeared in my face,my reputation is even more contradicted now and my "trust" in your "decicion makin" is sinking by the minute.

    You seem to not read (or understand) my post at all.

    I clearly stated  i expected a admin to step in to calm/solve the situation.

    Which were around (on TS) but choose to send "their" message via a ZEUS.

    Knowing me (and quite a few of them do) it was quite obvious i m not gonna settle with that decicion (again).

    And what would be so hard to tell "that pub" he had no claim to uphold for that MBT,suggest him to exit it and negotiate for it like civilised people or (the option i prefer) hand me MY KUMA.I´vs seen several occasions people in charge handed vehicles (of any sort) to players they get along with finer (read=get their ass kissed) than me,abusing their given powers on occasions they felt comfortable with.

    It had been a matter of minutes untill all of this had been forgotten and the world kept turning.

    Its now 5 months after AHOY lead came up with this :

    my topic about getting my side reward KUMA snitched by AW associates

     

    And just now,5 months later the almost similar situation turns up again ...

    Did support a side mission that rewarded a KUMA.

    Called dips as it displayed.

    Hoped for fair play untill i return to base to get it.

    Pub grabbed it,drove of base (1 guy)

    Negotiations failed.

    I had the opportunity in the past weeks of getting MBTs awarded (2x T100,1x KUMA) and not taking em but share em on other players that wanted it.

    Even today i had negotiated if that guy would made a statement in chat he d liked to,even after i called dips on chat,marked map and proceeded to RTB the regular way than to INSTA-despawn in order to be 1st at it (like so many of even AW members do).

    But fkk me - this time i was borderline of facing a ban lifetime here.

     

    And its resulted by the lack of makin justified decicions by AHOY admins (not ZEUSs as they have to obey orders from Staff above).

    I expected a STAFF member to come help out/advice on this very situation today - yet you deciced to leave the dirty work to (newish) ZEUS´s.

    Well played.

    I dont expect you to like me,but i got a way sharper and sensible feel for justice than (most of) your people in charge have.

    And a reasonable foundation to base it on.

    Wasp has a respawn timer of 30 minutes, the UCAV sentinel has a respawn timer of 10 minutes.  We'll discuss internally if these numbers will be changed.
     

    The service station on the carrier will be said to just over 5 minutes for planes, almost 1 minute for the UAVs and also almost 1 minute for helis. This will all happen in the next update. We'll also discuss internally if these numbers will be changed.

     

    We have to keep in mind that not all people have all DLCs so by removing 1 of the greyhawks some UAV ops will only have 1 UAV available to them.  We will also discuss this internally.

     

    There are 95 rewards the side mission randomly picks from when giving a reward.

    5 are jets,  22 are helis (16 attack, 6 transport),  7 are UAV related (3 actual UAVs, 4 are of those new turrets mounted to hemtts),  8 are MBTs,  10 are IFVs, 4 are APCs, 4 are cheetahs, 9 are striders and 26 are other cars (like the mortar mounted to an off road, a qilin, ...)

    So in total that's 28.4% for a rewards for pilots, 7.4% for a reward for the UAV op and 64.2% chance for a reward for infantry.  
    Seeing how the pilots and UAV op combined account for 10% of player slots, we'll discuss internally whether these values should be changed.
     

    McKillen has actually made this and suggested it here.  It will be implemented in one of the upcoming versions although it might not be the next one.
     

    The script that is running on those ZSUs seems to be broken since the jets DLC.  It is on my todo list to figure out why and more importantly how to fix it.
     

    And to finish this off i'd like to point out that the jet is a support asset.  If you see a pilot rape an AO without infantry requesting anything please make a member of staff aware so we can take action.

    I´ ve used color to mark with what i agree/disagree on.

    imo the service for planes and UAVs (maybe only raise Sentinel only here) need to be raised most definatly.

    Pilots/UAVops using that tools need to take care of em just like any other unit "should" take care of their tools.

    That breaks down to basically use em wisely and not treat em like "it´ll respawn in xx amount of time" anyway.

    Which i know is much to ask for a server like EU1#.

    Í´ll respond later to this particular issue on Xwatt´s reply.

    Last thing to your response Stan,about the side reward percentage.

    I rely to simple math making the issue more obvious:

    60 players = 100%

    5 player pilots = 12% that get a reward chance of 28,4% = 5,7% per pilot

    55 player inf = 88% that get a reward chance of 64,2% = 1,16% per player

    See my point?

    I could live quite well with pilots getting same chance as the UAVop (7,4%)

    Thats a count i guess both sides could live with and we ll see how that works out in gameplay experience.

    Apart from the fact pilots contribute a minimal amount in actually clearing side missions. (generalisation)

    For balancing I could see this working:

    • You restrict the UAV-OP to only have Darters/Stompers (would benefit gameplay in various aspects: he would do his job of spotting stuff more often, he could not just laser designate and kill everything on his own with his Greyhawk and if he wants to kill things he would have to use a Stomper wich means he would either drive a long way or he would be airlifted but in both cases it would take time making him more caring about his drone => he would not take unneccessary risks wich would also nerf him a bit.)
    • You limit the amounts of Jets to like only a single one. (If you want to go further you could even do it like: There is no jet at all until the first FOB has been deployed => it would make AT guys very happy in the first part of the mission and encourage people to deploy FOBs. After the first FOB has been deployed there would be one jet available; Also you could then do it like: after the last FOB there becomes a second Jet available)
    • And increasing the Air threat, service time and respawn timer is definitly also a good idea because so far when playing with @Amentes for example he had no problems at all destroying basically everything I designated for him and was always back in action super fast when he had to rearm...And we don´t want to get him bored...;)

     

    THat certain behaviour has become a regular routine on EU1#.

    Its way out of hand.

     

    I disagree on limiting the UAVop only to a Darter/Stomper as that would render em useless and would break one of the foundings the mission is build in.

    Greyhawk(s) need to be,i prefer decresaing the amount of tools (by respawn timer - by mission edit) as mentioned in OP.

    I agree totally on the rest from your response.

    I've had many conversations about the role of the wasp with many people since the introductory of the Jets DLC.  The role of a CAS jet should be a SUPPORT role. Meaning that the pilot should only fire on request and should be on standby, scouting targets. Sadly this hasn't been been the case. There will always be a poor execution on a public server of support roles. It is something that requires communication and coordination to be effective in any scenario. Invade and Annex for me has always been better off without the CAS jets as they are not needed in order to be effective and getting the mission done. The player count is usually high enough that the fire power of jets such as the Black Wasp are not needed.

     

    I also feel the Jet DLC has put too much power in the hands of the pilot. the new system allows the pilot to lock and fire without the need for people to lase targets as the pilot can do this as it is in his power, allowing him to engage every target that he can see.

     

    Personally I feel the Black Wasp should not spawn on the carrier. I feel it has too much unnecessary power that is not needed 80% of the time. Instead it should be limited to a side reward or a FOB vehicle as that way it can be utilised effectively, as players don't need to have access to a CAS jet that permanently spawns at the carrier that they have 24/7 access to if it hasn't been destroyed

     

    My action points are:

     

    • Limit the Black Wasp to side rewards or to a FOB. That way it can still be utilised effectively in I&A but then players do not have access to it whenever they feel, they must work for it, this makes sense as I feel a vehicle with such firepower should be worked for.
    •  
    • Replace The Black Wasp for the AA buzzard, this can replace the Black Wasp at the carrier, and I feel a pilot who is skilled has access to the tools needed to eradicate enemy air such as Shikras and Neophrons, while not ruining the fight for the players on the ground.
    •  
    • If somehow you feel the AA Buzzard is 'underpowered' replace it for the Gryphon, it doesn't have all the fancy parts of a Black wasp but it still has more than enough power to be effective at its role, and should be able to eliminate enemy air and few ground targets, as such hefty power that the Black Wasp has is not needed to be effective.

    The comment of 'The AA buzzard is a air to air while the Black Wasp is air to ground' may come up but that's my point. I don't see the need for an air to ground jet to be accessible all the time, an AA jet should be more than enough to eradicate issues that players complain about, enemy jets, and a vehicle with such firepower like The Black wasp should be worked for, and reduced to a FOB or to a side reward.

     

    I m not going to much into your post as i mostly made my point clear in previous responses of mine above.

    And i agree with most of your statements.

    Just that 1 thing ...

    The fact its a public server does equal to not everything going as planned by mission designer or similar.

    Thats just the way it is on a public beginner and above server.

    But just that warrants a decent mission layout as we both know AHOY doesnt have the manpower/time/same opinion on this matter.

    And thats why you "limit" the mayhem by a well adapted basic setup (locations/base assets/transportation of any sort/etc.)

    Then let it run for 1 week,see if it needs t o be tweaked (either way),adapt accordingly,run it for another week,rinse repeat.

    You get the princip.

    I got several ideas up my sleeve to improve a bit with little effort needed,i just dont feel like any of my "contributions" or ideas are welcome in this (changing) community (see signature).

    In the end,i m just to hurt in my honor to do so.

    long time no read from my side and i wasnt even considering posting here in the future but todays events changed my opinion ...

    Its about the jets,especially the "DLC" WASP (which spawns on Carrier regulary every 30min).

     

    As familiar player of I+A you may know my (hate-)relation to jets in particular but dont get me wrong in the first place.

    Jets have a role in playing a support role to assist ground forces achieving objectives and goals eaiser/a bit less stressfull.

    That totally alright about if the pilot of the jet "acknowledges" his support role and does so on a "regular basis".

    Sadly,this doesnt play out most of the times.

    We saw pilots camping the jets spawns (to be first),take them for unrequested air raids all over Altis.

    This is what in particular annoys me the most.

    The ability for the jets to be ANYWHERE on the island in minutes,speed advantage renders enemy AA useless 90% of times and they rearm in minutes and be back in the air almost instant.

     

    I might give you a insight of the event that made me post this (read the spoiler+check the picture):

    I came to EU1# just 5min ago and was about to prepare my usual setup,checking the scoreboard regulary (for several reasons),seeing this:

    By reading chat i seen StarScream say he´s been playing since 3AM this day,so by playtime this might seem a legit thing to pull of (2% of players).

    But i m quite sure he s been whoring that WASP since he came online.

    Now,just 10min on the server,i m reading in chat in this time about 5times the quote >> "CAS ready,laser up" // "lase for CAS" // "AO needs CAS" and similar.

    In 10minutes.

     

    Whats the point in having AT slots,tank crews,APC crews and whatever in this game when a single WASP can dominate the mission so easily.

    We might even never leave base again !

    Take the Anti Air battery mission for example - i seen it countless of times the AA gets taken out by either the jet or the UAV in seconds/minutes with no threat to them at all.

    If the ZSUs can deal em that sad why even have the AA mission actually in?

     

    Actually,i m speechless since that thing (the jet/UAVtools) got added and even more in particular since BI tweaked the jet capabilities.

    In this condition yet it´s a silly and gamebreaking move.

    ARMA is about putting work in a mission (generalisation) - achieving goals the easy way is neither rewarding nor thrilling to none of (the more) experienced users.

    Or when was the last time you told a m8 about that thrilling CAS-Air raid you witnessed while being boot on the ground with nothing to care about as only infantry is your only threat ?

    Oh,not to forget:

    The same goes for the new UAVtools !

     

     

     

     

    In short - i vouch for several things to make jets/UAV tools better or everyone:

     

    • raise (re)spawn timer of WASP and UAV tools (to 1h at best)
    • raise service time (to min 15min)
    • consider cut´ing jet/UAV  count actual (1 WASP - 1 Buzzard AA - 1 Greyhawk - 1 of those new things sorry,dont recall its actual name)
    • enforce a "maximum use time" of jets (limit it to 1 user for 2h,then apply a 2h wait time)
    • thin out chance of side reward to be jet/UAVtool
    • change setup of AA battery to that new AAtruck to guarantee a solid AA threat by it

     

     

     

    I´ll end it here for now,i usually wanted to play ARMA and not post a essay about the goddamn jet (users)

    it conflicts with the "play your class" direction I+A is running,giving anyone the capability to "expand" their job will end in abuse.

    sooner or later.

    I agree it raises the teamplay part to a certain amount,but only by "senior" ARMA players and we sure both agree,alto EU1# and 2# have a decently mixed crowd of all sorts of skilled players,in the end propably max. 5-10% will even make use of this idea.

    Then there´s the problem of implementation to the existing medic system and changes to mission.

    I just dont see that being worth the effort.

    this is a thing that been on AHOY for the past years - as AHOY is more EU than Infidel Land you sure got more admins/ZEUS from the european region and those people keep up to the EUtimes of game´ing.Altho from my stats there´s a "dead-zone" of admins available around 2-6 o clock AM (CET+1time).

    Mikey filled that zone mostly if you called fo an admin in console (he s from sheepland = NewZealand).Not sure if he s still around,read from him 5-6 weeks ago (in console).

     

    In a ideal construction,you´d have 3 EU admins,2 US admins for each server and best if they usually online on different (main)playtimes.

    Then again,admins need to be known members of the community that should know their playerbase and how to work them.

    Also,the workload of admins need to be cut by far - as they r players too.

    great way to "adjust" this is nice 1min long BLACK SCREEN with a simple message saying WAIT FOR A MEDIC TO TREAT YOU TO AVOID THIS MESSAGE ...

    Worked before (A2) but it gives a hard time when your only solution is to respawn as no medic is near/playing.

    you know,i´d like to hear alot more comments by the maker(s) of the actual medic system as we can barely guess the limits and possibilites it offers.

    therefor its hard to vouch for changes,as you cant be really specific with change/adjustment ideas
