Feature Request: Jochem's script for goggles and visors
 
Jochem writ a simple script a long while back and I think it was requested before. It simply allows the player to attach or remove his combat goggles to and from his helmet. Additionally, the same script can be applied to helicopter pilot visors as they can be toggled up or down.
 
The script should work on all RHS helmets that contain a specific phrase in the calssname, this includes Russian Army helmets Air Force helmets.
 
It's extremely basic with no notable flaw whatsoever. It certainly increases realism and immersion, but more importantly, it's just a cool aesthetic feature that could even help in combat (i.e removing goggles from helmet onto face in action and returning them to the helmet when ready).

This short guide simply demonstrates a method of improving your frame-rate and reduce stuttering when playing Squad.
 
This is done so by clearing cached data and this guide will show you how to do so without resetting all of your custom settings, controls or key-bindings.

Step 1: Locate your AppData folder (for some people this file will be hidden but this method works for everyone)
 
Search for the file using "%appdata%" term in the Start Menu, this will take you to a file names Roaming.
 
 
Roaming is a sub-file within AppData, so you simply need to back-out of it into AppData by clicking it in the file browser.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
Step 2: Locate your cached files within your Squad folder (this step will simply tell you what files to enter, starting from AppData)

Step 3: Save your personal settings by copying these two files (you can just temporarily move them to your Desktop to later)

Step 4: Start Squad, clear your cache in game and then exit
 
 Select the "Settings" tab at the top of your screen.
 
 
 
Select the "Clear cached user data" at the bottom of your screen and then shutdown Squad.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
Step 5: Return your custom settings to the WindowsNoEditor folder
 
Move your GameUserSettings and Input files back into the WindowsNoEditor folder, it should be empty.
 
 
 
Next time you start Squad the rest of your files will be created anew. You're ready to go!

It is with a heavy heart that I am officially announcing what will likely be my complete departure from AhoyWorld. As I have mentioned to some, I will be stepping down from the Enhanced moderator team on June 19; this will be paired with an indefinite hiatus from the community as well, though I fully intend to return when I can.
 
In December of 2017, I enlisted in the United States Navy, with my boot camp date set for June 20th of 2018. After boot, I will be going straight to my respective school, and will likely be deploying after that (this will easily encompass the next 3 years). I will be limiting any computer usage strictly to studying during this period. 
 
To those members of the Enhanced realm of AhoyWorld reading this now, thank you for being my friends and family. I have tried my best to be a player, a moderator, a teacher, and a counselor; and if nothing else I hope I have succeeded in being another human being that you were always glad to talk to. I have spent a good 1,700 hours on Enhanced alone, and have seen many people come and go. Throughout the three years I've spent racking up those hours, though, my mind has never changed that both the server and AhoyWorld in general are diamonds in the rough that is the rest of the Arma 3 community. Nobody will ever be able to duplicate the truly unique things that you all share. 
 
I will still be active up until the 19th. I am just making this notice ahead of time so that I have a proper buffer to wrap things up with, and so that I'm not rushing to get a message out right before I have to leave. You'll still see me on Enhanced as often as always, and on TeamSpeak so long as I'm awake.

FEATURE REQUEST
 
"Static Line Drop" scroll option that works similarly to the parachute option we already have, except this option would apply the D-6 parachute onto the player and deploy it automatically as soon as they have left the vehicle (if thats possible?).
 
Both options could be available for different scenarios. Yes, the static line is less effective, but still fun. Plus it keeps everyone together.
 
I specify the D-6 parachute due to the fact that it's non-steerable and therefore more commonly used within standard airborne forces, making it way more suitable for a static line.

AhoyWorld's first Squad Night test this weekend! (24/02/18)
 
Game: Squad
Server Name: [ENG] EU1 AhoyWorld.net
Map: Chora
Gamemode: Insurgency
 
Johnson and Mini will be hosting a Squad Night this weekend on Saturday, 24 February, at 16:00 UTC to test how well certain gamemodes and play-styles work out.
 
The event will take place on the map of Chora; a small, Middle-Eastern basin located in the bottleneck of an Afghan mountain range.
 
The gamemode will be Insurgency: The Insurgent team will be tasked with protecting five ammo caches that are randomly spawned around the map, while the US Army team must find and destroy these objectives using the Squad Leader's incendiary grenade!
 
However, there will be some custom limitations to this gamemode during this event. This is to ensure that the core gameplay mechanics of the mode are tested:
 
The Insurgent team must super-FOB around a singular, self-selected cache.
The Insurgent Squad Leader then must tell the US Army team where their cache is once they are ready to defend it (the US Army team must not leave base until they receive this information).
The US Army team can only attack this single cache once told where it is and cannot hunt for more.
Should we have enough time and if the US Army manages to destroy this cache, the US Army must return to base and the process will repeat.
Should the US Army run out of tickets before a singular cache is destroyed, the Insurgents win.
 
Your hosts are hoping for about eighteen players in order to fill two squads, one for each team, so join in and help them out!

On malden, while I was in a F-16 I noticed that a frogfoot spawned and was stuck on the north beach. A few minutes after Alpha destroyed it a second one spawned almost on the same spot . The spawn for them might be bugged. I have the map mark screenshoted.

Let`s be honest, we all look at the model and say "this is a really nice model, great textures, great sound, great feature". Whoever says he doesn`t, is a liar (don`t take it to seriously).
 
I feel all the content being used on EU3 should be up to Arma 3 standards or better. Honestly, CUP isn`t. Let`s keep the standards high, content good.
 
I partially do agree with Amentes, it`s not ALL about the look, but keeping it on Vanilla A3 standards is a "must go" for all the current modders. If they don`t follow it, it`s most likely their mods won`t be used.
 
If the whole CUP pack would be on the level with RHS stuff, I would never be against the switch, but the current state of both mods favours RHS by a mile.

Why do you think you were banned?: I was banned because i was in a pilot slot and not flying but joining a humvee convoy to the objective
Why (in your personal opinion) should your ban be lifted?: The commanding unit told me that they don't need air support and that when people die there will be another convoy, because the convoy was leaving shortly i didn't switch slot. + there were only 10 people on including me so there were as many ground units needed.
