    with the intel discovered from our first raids we now have intel on targets in the network we are chasing. Using the captured phones. laptops etc we were able to track many targets. Many of these targets are still being developed and an overall picture of the network is being built. For now we have 3 actionable targets. 
     
    We have announced our presence in the area so expect security to be on a more heightened setting.

    Assuming you're only making a map and not a player and an enemy faction as well:
     
    Copy the mission folder and paste it with the correct file name behind the . (so I&A.newMapNameHere instead of I&A.altis), go to the Main_AOs.hpp file in the defines folder, in both the bases and Main_AOs classes create sub classes following the example of the other ones with the map name used above.  In the editor delete all the AO & FOB markers and create new ones, following the naming convention of that file (so AO_SomeNameHere).  The name of the class should be the same as the marker name.  Give them the correct display name and type.  For FOBs you'll need to put more markers down and put them in the correct define, again see the examples in that file.  Put the static bases first, then the FOBs and then the other AOs.  Once you've done that update basemanager, baseTeleport and baseTeleportSetup in the function/base folder.  
     
    And once all of that is done test every single AO you created to ensure that you didn't make a typo anywhere in any of the marker names as that will completely break the mission.  
     
    Now for part 2: ensure that there are enough side mission to play, the default ones available on all maps are located in \Missions\Side, the ones that are map specific are located in "\Altis\Missions\Side" (assuming you copied from altis).  Either new missions need to be created for this map or the existing altis (or vietnam) missions updated to work on all maps (including vietnam).  The shared mission (located in \Missions) also need to be tested that they work correctly on this map (e.g. no out of place buildings)
    This part needs to be repeated for prio missions and subobjectives as well.  
     
    Don't forget to check that the fortifications spawned by main_AO_spawn_specific in \functions\AI is also not spawning anything that's out of place. Oh and don't forget to update fortifyBuildingDefs in \Functions\Defines.
     
    I probably forgot to mention a few things but arma will send you an error with what I forgot.  Once you've done all that send anyone in the dev team the edited files and we'll get them put into our version control system.  
     
    If you want to make a player and/or enemy faction as well there "a few" other things you need to change as well.

    Some operations require subtlety and finesse and boy do we have a mission for you that is just that. The ID-card found at the medical station belonged to an officer working at an advanced weapons lab, codenamed Xhiao. The officer was sent to the medical station due to an unknown ailment but died shortly after arrival. With data from the ID-card we’ve tracked the location of this weapons lab to a building in the middle of Georgetown.
    We need to find out what this weapons lab is developing. That’s why we are sending you in undercover to observe and if necessary, infiltrate the facility. Civilian dress and vehicles are being arranged ahead of operation.

    With the withdrawal of NATO forces from the region local government forces have been stretched thin. They maintain a tense peace with local tribal factions and are besieged by an insurgency. In an attempt not to overstretch themselves government forces have fallen back to secure key locations including towns and oil production in the area. The northern territory is split between Tribal fighters and insurgents, with the two regularly fighting over the area. To make up for the shortcomings the government has issued bounties on insurgent members claimable by international PMC organisations. The CHADS have taken this opportunity to claim these lucrative bounties.
     
    An advance force has made contact with tribal leaders and we have gained permission to setup camp in their territory and for their forces are to be treated as friendly. Our first set of targets is ready and waiting for the CHADS to hit the ground.

    The end of 2021 is rapidly approaching and we had one hell of a year. This also means it is time to begin the process of awarding our annual award ceremony.

    Section cohesion is of utmost importance. The enemy outnumbers us greatly and will not hesitate to exploit gaps in our situational awareness.
    Counter-attacks and a general resistance to our efforts will ask for quick shifts in our tactics.
     
    Admin / Logistics
    Reinforcements are unlimited and directed by CMD. Resupply is CMD’s prerogative.
    Enemy prisoners of war (POW) are to be treated well and brought to base for questioning.
     
    The Logistics team has full discretion as to the fortification of our FOB under CMD's guidance. If no other tasking, default to supply and POW escort.
     
    Command / Signal
    Operations and ground control lie solely with the Platoon Commander. The RTO handles air traffic and can supplement communications.
     
    Support unit slots are under Platoon Command's prerogative and can be asked to reconsider their slot, but never forced to give them up in favour of another player. All units must be tasked fairly.
     
    Squad leaders are responsible for the operational effectiveness of their teams.

    I've never seen a situation where we have all the FOBs and from what I understand there is an actual end-game if we complete all the missions.  I don't know what happens, probably we all get nuked.
     
    So here is my dumb/brilliant idea:  We have an event that runs on a weekend day, we hype it and try and get the server full right from server restart and maybe try and coordinate so the really early/late slots are full, but the idea is we want all slots full for the event.  We could try and see if the Arma3 Twitter account would boost the event and isn't there some popular Arma podcast we could pitch this to?  It seems like a fun way to try and get the community together for a common cause and see if we can actually beat I&A3, and since Invade & Annex is at least semi well known, get some free advertisement that Ahoy is where I&A was born and maybe get some new players.
     
    What inspired this idea is the motorsports endurance race where drivers/crew/etc... take stints to try and get their car over the finish line first.  It would be an endurance race... of murder!
     
    There's probably all sorts of other fun ideas that could be incorporated into this, but I'll leave that to the AW community if anyone thinks this idea has merit.  But really, I think it would be fun to try and band together to beat I&A3.  Nothing would make me happier than being unable to find a open slot for this event as long as someone streamed it.

    Any ideas you have you are welcome you put in here!  Frontline is improved with any feedback provided, so the more concrete it is the more we can do with it!
     
    In my experience not a single idea so far has been swept under the rug. We've taken the time to look at all the feedback that is here and see how well it works with the vision of Frontlines in general or the faction in particular.
     
    Sometimes this means that we decide not to change something as it interferes with the vision. There have been occasions where feedback misinterprets how a system works or is relevant to a mod that we can't adjust.
     
    Meanwhile the majority of the feedback here is put on our tracker to be implemented on a short or long term basis depending on how much effort it is. Things for a current faction are generally implemented quite fast while changes to systems take more time.
     
    Since we only have one part time developer on this it means new features or changes to current will take time regardless.
     
    I really appreciate all the stuff you guys are giving and hope everyone understands the method to our madness a little better.

    Some time in the seventies an american and japanese scientific task force was formed in secrecy. Their main duties were to establish a research lab on Wake Island in order to establish an isolated forefront for their scientific discoveries. Sometime in the new century a breakthrough was discovered. It appeared they had opened an anomaly. Just a couple of days ago, a scientist were sent in full biohazard equipment to interact with the anomaly. Any and all contact between the island and ANYWHERE else was cut off the moment they laid hands on the anomaly. Fearing public knowledge of the situation, the top brass within the task force ordered a complete shutdown of the island.

    Situation
    Thanks to you successfully helping the Fuel Hogs with their stolen tanker they have given you a decent amount of supplies, more even than you had asked for. However, this increase in supplies comes at a cost. Apparently, since you proved to be willing and able muscle they have another task for you. In return they promise to provide some information on the "military" raiders that attacked your compound.
     
    The Fuel Hogs have provided the location of a group who produce drinkable water. As part of negotiations they have cut off water supplies to the fuel depot. You are to convince them to turn this back on.
     
     
     
    Mission
    Using the supplies provided convince the settlement to resume water supplies to the Fuel Hogs. Then follow any leads available to find the "Military" force that attacked you.

    1. Find a way to restore water supply to the Fuel Hogs

Mostly play games on a casual basis and I have really enjoyed the learning curve here. Work and life keep me fairly tied up, so I jump on when I can in the evening/night. Got some great pointers from you guys since joining, so thanks. Looking forward to spending some time here getting to know the community and maybe inprove my aim too. 😉
