If you feel that your ban was unjust and you are absolutely certain you did nothing that would go against the rules, the proper channel to voice your side of the story and attempt to get unbanned is to make a ban appeal, which you can find here:

I, for one, can tell you that I don't see any admin or moderator jumping to conclusions, let alone based on your name, accent or ethnicity.

    Act 1 - Prelude to a Nightmare
    Part 4

Very shortly after the Altian offensive started, the high command realized pushing the enemy back will not be as easy as was originally predicted. Launching an attack before all preparations were complete was aimed to take advantage of enemy weakness, but also resulted in disorganization among Altian troops and casualties much higher than anticipated. Still, it had moderate success, which the Altian government managed to brand as victory.

Despite having Freedom's support and malfunction of USS Patrick Gallagher's VLS system, the insurgents were forced to retreat from the territories targeted by the initial Altian push. In face of unrelenting assault, The Watcher, commanding enemy Freedom forces, ordered a retreat. Altian army seized several strategic objectives, such as a field airfield, but the insurgents managed to pull back most of their supplies and equipment before the area was taken.

Now the Altian offensive is at a halt. The losses were high and success moderate and as such high command made a decision to hold the advance to await reinforcements, resupply and to have time for proper planning. The original goal of pushing against the insurgents before arrival of The Templar and Freedom's troops that will no doubt accompany him is no longer deemed possible to accomplish in time. Additionally, territory that was taken is not fully secure, as insurgents are still conducting guerilla operations across the island.

The Altian government must also deal with the aftermath of an incident that happened during the offensive. An Altian aircraft mistakenly fired upon a civilian target, which resulted in loss of life of multiple civilians. The public outrage on the island and abroad is largely fueled by Russian media and diplomats, who immediately jumped on the story, using it best they can in order to demonize both the Altian government and US troops stationed on the island. The insurgents are also attempting to use the incident as part of their propaganda, but the populace cannot be swayed that easily. Coincidentally - or maybe not - a political incident in South-East Asia sparked tensions between Russia and USA and neither country is willing to back down.

With the offense on hold the Altian high command once more turns its attention to guerilla warfare that wreaks havoc in areas that should've had no insurgent presence.

The Altian clock has advanced and now shows 2 minutes and 30 seconds to midnight...

    The Assets

    Player slots: 32
    - PLATCO - 4 man command element + BRDM-2UM command vehicle
    - 3 Infantry Squads - Alpha, Bravo, Charlie - 8-man each (4-man fireteam, 3-man maneuver team + engineer - effectively two 4-man fireteams)
    - Vortex - Pilot and Co-pilot
    - Shadow - 2-man sniper recon team (sniper and spotter)

    - Mi-8 transport helicopters (including a CAS-capable variant)

    - Various wheeled transport vehicles

    The mission
The insurgents have been conducting guerilla operations across the island to disrupt our operations and supply lines. Recently they started targeting aircraft passing through this region in order to disrupt ours as well as US supplies arriving at a nearby airfield. Among the targeted aircraft was also a helicopter carrying colonel Silas Xenotis. We have lost contact with the aircraft and the crew and the colonel are M.I.A. Assuming they survived the crash, they are probably held prisoner by the insurgents. Your task is to search the area for the missing aircraft, find out the fate of the crew and the colonel and rescue them if possible. Additionally you are expected to neutralize any enemy AA asset you encounter.

Here are a few flowcharts I made that could help new players or people unfamiliar with ace medical.  These flowcharts are not the only correct way of doing it.  They probably aren't even the best way of doing things.  They are intended to be a guide for new people.  Once you become familiar enough with ace you'll figure out how to do this better.

Here's a guide on which bandage to use:
Here's a guide on what to do as a rifleman when you get shot:
And here's a guide on what to do as medic when someone gets shot:
And this is a backup link in case these pictures disappear.  They'll probably be outdated before that but just in case.

You are part of the 11th Armoured Cavalry Regiment of the United States Army, currently serving in Vietnam. We are base in the province of Vung Tau East of Ho Chi Minh City. We are tasked with holding this province and driving out the NVA and VC forces from this area. The airport at Vung Tau is of strategic importance and is our number 1 priority. Its operations can not be compromised. To defend the area we have setup many FSBs to exert our influence on the area. We have just received word that one of these FSBs named Arrow is under attack from NVA forces and are running low on supplies. Our attempts to resupply them by air have failed due to the presence of enemy AA weapons. The 11th ACR have been tasked with rolling in and breaking the siege. Get it done.

Hey, although i'm not so happy with the addition of ACE to the Vietnam campaign, I will eventually accept voting results and give it a try.
But please allow me one question: Why you'd like to bring ACE to the campaign? What's the benefit?
I already watched the Twitch from last two sunday missions and i'm not sure about if I like what I saw or not. (regarding medical system)
    Cheers!

Schubz reacted to MidnightRunner in Vietnam: To Ace or not to Ace
@Noah_Hero Thanks, we have been working with the new medical system and getting to grips with it since it's release. I've used Ace a lot in the past and have been considering the effects it will have on any mission before setting this poll. The goal is for the missions to be fun and inclusive for the whole community.

@SCHUBZ From the outside adding Ace can seem daunting but I assure you that it is a very useful and rewarding mod.
The medical is obviously the biggest change from the outside and it will take some adjustment from the Zeus and the players but it is my aim to keep the missions fun and casual while also giving players the added depth and functionality that Ace adds.

If we do adopt Ace, as the current poll results would be leaning towards, we would look to making sure everyone had an opportunity to get some training in using the ace functionality, if they want/need it.

If you guys have any questions or reservations please let me know.

Following our discovery of a large P.A.V.N. presence in the area our military intelligence has been searching for any and all clues as to the location and strength of enemy forces. They have just passed us some intel on the location of the P.A.V.N. forces main garrison, their staging point as well as their resupply point. We with the help of A.R.V.N. forces will be attacking all 3 positions in an early morning raid which if successful will deal a major blow to the enemy in this area. We must however complete all 3 tasks together or risk enough of the enemy escaping to allow them to reform. Our task will be to assault the enemies main barracks centred around the village of Long Duc and their supply port in Vung Tau. The A.R.V.N. will be assaulting Phu Vinh. The have the man power to complete the job but lack any real air assets. We will have to be available to aid them, by way of air power, in case of a counter attack or if they lose momentum.

    Introduction Political fiction inbound
The island of Altis has a history full of violence, as does the rest of the Altis Archipelago. During the Cold War, Altis fell into Soviet sphere of influence, which was welcomed by some of its people and resented by others. A short lived insurgency against the communist rule was quickly ended, not without help from Soviet troops. With the collapse of Soviet Union in 1991, Altis regained some of its lost freedom, but it would not be an end to unrest on the island. In fact, it would only get worse.
The original government decided to keep close bonds with Russia, but it quickly became apparent that the government has no way of remaining in power. Over the years Altis would gradually drift away from Russia and towards NATO, as its external politics stabilized. Nothing stabilized internally, however. Since 1991 Altis experienced multiple snap elections, political assassinations, mass shootings and two attempted coups. "Altian clock" - originally a comedic gag inspired by "the doomsday clock" - is counting down time to Altis descending into chaos, and people look at it with concern. The unrest on the island made for fertile ground in which to plant dangerous ideas. Ideas that are poison to the society, ideas that can only result in more violence. And with recent geological surveys suggesting presence of uranium on the island, Russia once more turns it's gaze towards Altis, which - one could say - "rightfully" belonged to them.
Now Altis is on the brink of civil war. Rebellion has taken root on the island. The rebels were swayed by the poisonous words of the anarchists to take up arms against the government. It is almost certain that they are backed by the international organization, who call themselves "Freedom" - a large group regarded by most countries as terrorists, anarchists. Freedom fights to overthrow all governments, all systems of justice, all that which in their view limits the freedom of an individual. There is no proof of their involvement on Altis, but the rebellion seems to share their viewpoint, and it is certain that they are funded by an external power - most likely Freedom, but suspicion also falls on Russia.
Situation on the island is likely to worsen, as Altian Army struggles to deal with the insurgency. The government tries to seek help abroad. The corporate-funded mercenary group "Gatekeeper" refused cooperation, as it seems Russia offered them a much better contract to avoid their involvement with Altian government. The international task force "Epsilon" operating under NATO banner and dedicated to counteracting global terrorism threats refused involvement for now, uncertain of the situation on Altis. The only hope of bringing them into the fray is to find definite proof of Freedom's involvement. USA and UK agreed to send equipment to support the Altian army, as well as a token military force, which is yet to arrive. The only open offer of "help" came from Russia, but the government was forced to reject it. Despite that, the Russian military is clearly on the move, as the bear is sensing an opportunity.  This caused concern in NATO and so the scene is set...
With NATO and Russian forces approaching the island in turmoil and a terrorist organization seemingly acting from behind the scenes, it seems all ingredients for a disaster have been added to the cauldron. It is only a matter of time before it starts to boil.
The Altian clock shows two minutes to midnight...

There will be no arsenal, players are given custom loadouts. Resupply will be possible.
Despite using a mix of western and russian weaponry, squad layouts are organised so that there should always be someone who uses the same ammo type.

    The mission
The goal is to put an end to insurgent activity in the area. The rebels have attacked the town of Abdera, most likely to retaliate against the civilians loyal to the government. We are also expecting the insurgents to have several camps, outposts or weapon caches in the area. We must retake the town, and find and neutralize any insurgent threat in it's vicinity. Safety of civilians is a priority. Securing intel or capturing insurgents for interrogation could also prove beneficial to our efforts. We should also be ready to counter any insurgent movements in response to our actions and be on the lookout for possible proof of Freedom's involvement in the insurgency.
    The modset
We will be using BAF, RHS, ACE and TFAR and associated compatibility patches. To make it extra easy, here's a colection link:

I'd like to thank you all for my award for the worst driver. I must say, it is a great achievement to win this award two years running, and a showcase that my driving skills have yet to improve.

I would like to apologies to Alpha, for having to withstand the effects of my poor driving ability on that memorable night in Livonia that I don't speak about. It is not easy to be the worst driver, it takes a great amount of concentration and incoherence, and years of practice with no improvement.

I look forward to crashing more vehicles in 2020.
  16. Thanks

    Hey All,

The EU2 Vietnam Friday missions will be taking a break until the 10th January 2020.

This week I am snowed under in work, next week is Christmas and the week after I have an exam on the Saturday, so I really should spend the Friday studying.

Following this break, we will return for the final mission of the Air Cavalry deployment and then we will move on to a more conventional infantry force, modelled after the 1st Infantry Division using armoured vehicles and such. This will allow us to do missions which didn't fit right with the Air cavalry ethos.

As always, if you have any questions or suggestions send them to me.

Looking forward to seeing you in January, hope everyone enjoys their Christmas now that you don't have to worry about the trees whispering for a while.

    Midnight

In fact, when I think about it, it's not just the issue of slightly overloading the RTO's ears - that can be handled, I believe we were really missing that PlatCo tonight. ASL was mostly concerned with pressing tactical questions, issues and communication, so naturally that strategic role he had to fulfill on top of keeping A-1 and A-2 coordinated fell short and everything became more chaotic compared to last week.
You see, I had Alpha Lead group on one ear and Vortex, Angel and Reaper on the other and even though I stayed out of the action and heard all radio communications within Alpha I had what can only be described as a very rough idea of what was going on and what the next planned step was. Now if it's only the RTO, that's not too big of an issue, because the RTO doesn't make decisions, but I'm pretty sure that ASL was far busier than me while also trying to plan ahead.
This overstrained command element took a big toll on CAS: neither ASL nor RTO had confirmed knowledge wether OPFOR AAA current status was "dealt with" or "being dealt with", leading to CAS being called in while AA was still up twice.

What I'm saying is: show more love for PlatCo, because when we have one, ASL can focus on fighting, managing his teams and passing important information up the chain of command instead of also having to process it and react to it. Leave the tactical workload with ASL and ATLs and the strategic workload with PlatCo. It's better for all of us, even if we only have one squad on the ground.

    Situation
On the last mission we discovered a significant P.A.V.N. presence in the area. They appear to have attempted to hide their number for an unknown reason. Our incursion into their territory caused them to show their hand. Also, through Intel recovered by ground forces and by air reconnaissance we have determined the location of a P.A.V.N. strong point on the island of Bin Thoi. Normally we would use artillery and/or aircraft to assault the area before sending in ground forces. However, command back in Fort Hood want us to try and raid this position for any Intel on the composition and strength of enemy forces in the area. To that end the island is not to be blanketed with support fire. We are also aware that the P.A.V.N.have access to Strela anti air missiles which could be used to defend the island. Once the island is captured we are tasked with clearing out any P.A.V.N. we discover.

    Ahoy,

As you will be aware from the last community update, Mark has now stepped down from Core Staff, and the role as Site Owner. We want to personally thank Mark for his service, and what he has contributed to the community during his time as Core Staff and Site Owner.

In terms of an overall hierarchy change, we have scrapped the role of Site Owner, giving all members of Core Staff the responsibilities that the Site Owner had. Realistically, this will not affect any members of the community, and we want to place emphasis that it will be business as usual at AhoyWorld, and we look forward the opportunities that the next year will bring.

We want to thank the members of the community for supporting us, whether this is through donations or simply being here, as it's the members that truly keep this community afloat.

If anyone has any questions for the Corestaff team we will be happy to answer them in the comments of this post.

I will also take this opportunity to say Merry Christmas and a happy new year from Ahoyworld!

    Yours Truly,
    AhoyWorld Corestaff
