  1. @Stanhope: Look at the problem from perspective of a guy who jumped in your heli and went for quick loo or get a tea. Or a guy which wants to use your heli to get to new AO and cant understand why he is getting kicked out. You as a pilot have already great responsibility towards your passangers that you will get them to LZ safely. Many times this responsibility is spit on by new and unskilled pilots. Imagine those pilots to have right to kick and lock heli.
  2. Desktop: Frequently played games. Arma 3. Kerbal Space Program Console: Sega Master System: Yes, once a year I fire up Golden Axe just to test if it still works.
  3. Drawing on map is signed by author. No more anonymous dicks on map.
  4. Your first problem can be resolved by path like this: Old AO>RTB>AO>Old AO>RTB. Or land evacuees at basketball court. But this is not good attitude for pilot. You are there to provide support and transportation. Choosing between ppl waiting for evac and ppl at base waiting for transport should not heppen. Kicking players from helicopters? Why would you need that?
  5. I am mostly interested in tips&tricks and info about various aspects of Arma 3 when looking at videos and not gameplay (watched gameplay too much when I was a kid and I had to take turns on PC with my stronger older brother) so my favourites are Dslyecxi, Jester814, TheSwissMaveric. Drewski and Luetin09 have also made some excellent guides, but I sometimes tend to skip through them because I feel that they tend to repeat things and points over and over. It was just feeling. Disregard BTW: Did you know that you can kill crew inside some APCs with APFDS 12,7mm rounds from Lynx in one or two hits?
  6. @[Luftwaffe]fr4q you look...damaged. Lets call repair specialist To stay on topic: Me explaining autorotation and vortex ring state to some dudes.

    Include Gestures

You can use hand gestures in ace3. I have seen them being used only in base when ppl were fooling around. Hand signals are usefull when you are playing in a tight formation and you pay close attention to your leader. I have not yet seen that on EU1&2. Players there cant even hold formation let alone pay attention for hand signals. AI is sadly not alerted by you talking on VOIP, which is shame if you ask me. So i see no reson to implement it. Hand signals are a little more helpfull in PvP because you will not alert enemy by using voip. You could circumvent this by using TS for example which is not fairplay in my eyes.
  8. If you ask me there is too many slots which can equip so called OneHitKill weapons. So suggestion to limit marksman to 7,62*51mm is music to my ears. But you must put it in context with EU1&2. Think about server population and what kind of players do you want there, then set rules, parametrs and loadout limitations.
  9. Not sure about asking for ilegal copies of sw in here but when i tested it some year ago it was horrible. No matter how hard i tried i was not able to get fluid movement. It jittered and stuttered. Not worth a penny if you ask me. Also, welcome to the AW forum kid! Sincerely grumpy dad

    gday all

    Welcome to the forums Noodle
  11. Well, why have a discussion on forums in a first place? If most of the EU3 veterans prefer ACRE it was decided long before there was the voting pool. And more importantly, if it was decided that ACRE is staying, why nobody from AW-Staff wrote anything about it in the thread? I know you will tell me that they are busy, but how much time does it take to write: "Despite that TFAR won voting we are keeping ACRE because frequent EU3 players like it better and it will represent more time to switch to TFAR which we can invest in a better way." I would appreciate more intel about coming updates for the missions, feedback threads on recent changes and such. about: "we don't have 80 players": I voted too in that pool despite that I was not on Enhanced for past 2 months. The reason is my machine does not have enough performance for the host of mods running there to be an enjoyable experience for me, but after MB and CPU upgrade I intend to play there again. My vote was for TFAR because I love little things like that window which tells me what frequency and radio I am using every time I push PTT, LR vehicle radios, backpacks and range based on the distance that is working reliably on every map created. I did not know that I have to repeat points of others in the discussion for my vote to have any weight. And yes I used ACRE2 for an extended period of time to test it how it compares to TFAR which was released for ARMA 3 earlier then ACRE2. I admit that in my little group we keep using TFAR for the same reason you choose to stay with ACRE2. Nobody wanted to adapt.
  12. Flying is less challenging and Buzzard is superfluous now (on EU2 it got removed a month ago). Pilots tend to joyride AA jet and when enemy CAS spawns they most of the time can't engage it quick enough to prevent strafing run. Playing hide and seek and tag game with AI jets was fun. If I look at it from the perspective of infantery, then everything seems fine. There is now no risk of being blown to bits by enemy Jets while travelling in a helicopter. If you don't get near enemy Kajman or armed Orca then you are safe while riding in a tank.
  13. If you like to come prepared then i could recommend reading through manuals of ACRE and ACE. If you have more free time and dont like to read then there are plenty basic guides about these on Youtube. ACRE Guide ACE3 wiki Read about advanced medical system. That will literally save your virtual life. Also, welcome
  14. I am that kind of fool that actually enjoys flying in fog this thick. For fixed wing aircraft landing I can place markers on a map in vehicle channel and then follow them to safely land on a runway by just looking on GPS and reading speed and altitude from HUD. You can prepare something similar for Helicopters to avoid hitting flood light poles and other tall objects. My point is, that you can fly during midnight storm with fog thick as pea soup and still enjoy it if you adapt to those conditions (at least with basic flight model in ARMA 3). Work with a map and preparing your ingress and egress before you take off is the basic skill for pilot and pays off in adverse conditions.

Either they all liked the idea or AW is dictatorship with generalissimos David leading it with his fists made of plutonium :-D
  16. @Cookiedemon1004: Some of those performance options are dependent on your CPU. You should not recomend them to somebody without knowing which CPU (how many cores and threads) he might be using. HERE you can read more about start-up parameters @Kyle Clements: If you need some specific help with performance you should include your system specs. If this was just a rant ignore me
  17. @Kyle Clements: Airsoft for me was as much fun when all i got was old tracksuit and plastic beretta. It is not about money. It is about people you surround yourself with when playing.
  18. @Chavez Menendez: How will be your playstyle different with Mk18? Why do you think it is not good marksmen rifle?
  19. @Orangutan> You will find your answer in first post text in bold. I recommend reading the whole post. It is a good read for UAV operators.

  21. @PiranhA: Maybe I did not understand you properly. It sounded to me like (as we say) you are offering a warm coat to a frozen corpse. Your advice came across as arrogant to my foreign ears. That must be my mistake because I don't perceive you as an arrogant person .
  22. Here are my toys. I started with airsoft in 2002. My fist gun was manual Beretta M92F by TokioMarui. I attended my last airsoft operation in 2011 (the year I got married). All guns made by Classic Army and tuned up (M120, precise barrel Inokatsu, piston, gears...etc.). I used low cap magazines (60 rounds). I have 9x STANAG and 6x M14 magazines. SCAR-L (gen.II.) with EoTech 552.A65/1 and Surefire M910A with KT4-HA. This was my favourite. With slightly over 950 RPM. M14 + Aimpoint COMP/M M4+M203 with Aimpoint COMP/M and silencer OPS Model 3rd MBS. 40MM grenades were bitch to maintain. Hearts and bunies gear Photo with some of my friends after week long training with army instructors
  23. @Chavez Menendez: So if I am not mistaken, your arguments are that Mk18 lacks range, is effectively carbine and on top of that an assault rifle. Let's talk ARMA then: Range: Mk14 and Mk18 ABR shares same ammo class. Mk18 has in config better accuracy than Mk14 --> thus better effective range. Although, I admit that I can hardly perceive this in the game. Carbine: How did you come to this conclusion? It appears that Mk18 have same barrel length as Mk14. Assault Rifle: By definition assault rifle use intermediate ammo. 7.62x51 is not intermediate. In ARMA wikia (which I already cited above in spoiler) Mk18 ABR is classified as DMR. In official ARMA 3 material, it is classified as Advanced Battle Rifle which is the evolution of Mk14 and used for ranges from 600m to 800m. That sounds like DMR, does it not? Now on top of that imagine that somebody does not have DLCs or Expansion . What choice he now has as a Marksman? You guessed it by now I believe. Only Mk18 ABR, MXM and Rahim.
  24. @Chavez Menendez: It is marksman rifle. I often use Mk14 as marksman because i like how light and quick to aim the thing is (also, low recoil). Guess i am wasting my slot :-)
