  1. Always apply common sense first. I rarely fly with new pilots. If i dont see familiar names or i see pilots crashing (always easy to spot because of mass TK which crashes tend to create) i load up buch of stuff in 4x4 and just drive. Do the same and you will save yourself some headaches BTW: I am against whitelisting pilots. In my opinion this could create elitism and it has no place on servers like EU1&2.
  2. Is also usefull for inserting troops on high inclination slopes (>45degree). On Tanoa, junge canopy has physical branches and inserting troops could get them cought in trees high above ground. <-- this would need further testing. Altough jungle has plenty of small clearings and rock formations which protrude from canopy and would be ideal for rope insertions.

  4. I had used my sleepy brain and came up with idea which i would like to share with you all. You know that feeling, that after each side mission is complete you are hoping for some serious CAS vehicle to spawn? Well, you can stop hoping now becouse i have some Do It Yourself solution always available to you! I present you my genious invention which i call Flying Offroad Ordonance Dispenser (FOOD for shorts ). Step1: Get on teamspeak or form a squad to facilitate communications. Step2: Increase your view distance in vehicle (so you can engage and lock far targets). Step3: Take two (crazy) AT guys and loads of AT and AA missiles, which you shove in the trunk of an offroad. Step4: Soar in the sky and rain down AT missiles from safe distance. To be able to stand in the back with launcher ready to shoot i need to uneguip all weapons exept T-launcher, select turn out from action menu and then press "3".
  5. I belive that "Hardcore" server will be more popular amongst tactical gamers. 2 pilot slots and 30ppl max is all it takes. EDIT: From my past experience, the 1st person only and full stamina is like repellent against most of the trolls and "less" cooperative players.
  6. @algantheIt might interest you that BIS is working on new engine based revive system. It is currently on devbrach. Some copy/pasta: BASIC FEATURES New player interaction based on (new) 'hold action' tech. New 2D and 3D visualization. Extensive control over Revive rules through mission settings and/or config. Backward compatibility. Custom made animations. Engine based unconscious state. 3 different unconscious state triggering models. Enhanced performance - low CPU load and network traffic footprint. LIMITATIONS Unconscious state and Revive works only for players, AI units cannot perform Revive nor they can be incapacitated. FUTURE PLANS Engine based unconscious state triggering. Unit animations improvements, both visual and functional. Unconscious state visualization moved to engine. Hold action tech moved to engine. Unconscious state and Revive functionality extended to all units.
  7. Well, don't get your hopes up. I used KIR with iron sight, DMS and nightstalker only. Everything else works funny with this gun.

  9. I thought it must have been something strange in order for the experienced player like you to ask. Well, last time I had weird ballistics I let steam check files and it found one file corrupted. Then it was fine again.
  10. Since the day I joined I&A it always bugged me that Stamina is partially disabled. I was used to it and in my opinion, it provides better gameplay which is unique. I quickly got the point that EU1;2 caters to players that just want to hop in and sprint around encumbered while wondering why they can't hit the side of the barn. By disabling stamina system you are teaching new players that it is fine to carry 2000 rounds for a machinegun because they don't know that they are penalised by weight without those audio-visual clues provided by Stamina system. I don't see a reason why should we play without Stamina (it was Fatigue before) disabled? You all already experience sway that is part of stamina system but you don't have stamina bar to check when your hands will calm down. Stamina system promotes smart play and educates players what should and should not work. It has nothing to do with MilSim and is part of the base game. Some people will try to advocate reason they have full body armour and 15+ mags with them by saying that AIs this and that. For those, I have only this: GIT GUD! BTW: What about one Hardcore server with no 3rd view and full stamina? Did anybody in past try it? How did it go?
  11. @xSniper1982:Ballistics of heavy 12,7 subsonic round has a greater curvature than supersonic projectiles. So when you take RCO, MRCO, ARCO which are zeroed for 300m you will need to aim below the feet of a target that is 100m away. At the range of 800m your bullet will hit the ground almost horizontally like a mortar shell so in order to hit a target at that range you would need a scope that can be adjusted for really small elevation changes and not 100m increments. Look at mortar sights, they are adjusting with page up/down by small increments.
  12. V-44 aircraft has an advantage in speed, range* and payload capacity. However, these traits shine with longer trips only. I can recommend using it for trips longer than 10 klicks where it is faster even with its slower landings. Also, it is more resistant and can shrug off even AA missile hit. edit: *aircraft range is not really a thing in Arma
  13. Lets us be exact and talk numbers. How far is "long" range? I will test it if it behaves differently than i remember. Also i remember that using DMS scope that is capable to zero from 100m up is recomended with this weapon.

  15. Ahoy Some feedback: - As repair specialist, I spawned with 2 x Toolkit - CTRG uniforms only with rolled sleeves or T-shirt - Unable to take ammo for PCML through arsenal. Backpack had space but it was not present in ammo selection even though PCML was equipped. Enhanced NVGs are too much DeltaDevgruSealteamSix for me
  16. While underwater missions look cool, they are severely hampered by interaction options you are given underwater. For example, you can not loot inventories, place charges, provide fist aid, drag bodies...all you can do is swim, shoot, board vehicles and disarm mines. Divers are really useful for assaulting beaches of small flat islands where an enemy is spread through the island and thus denying safe landing zone . Bear in mind thou that diving gear provide 0 protection and even pistol rounds will kill you so packing some protective vest in a backpack is good idea.
  17. If at all, we will propably see Y-32 as a reward with low propability of spawning. I would realy like to see X-44 vehicle transport version included.
  18. I think that AhoyWorld servers should cultivate what they are famous for and that is the popular Invade and Annex. Branching to other "game modes" takes manpower which could be put in signature I&A that has home right here. When Apex launches there will be a big influx of old and new players. Even now with Apex in devbranch servers are busy and new players come more often). So having those extra servers would be handy if we will see a launch of a separate server just for the Tanoa and then there will be two left for gamenights and testing.

  20. It was hinted by Zissou before that VAS will be dropped in future versions. People generally use VAS to go around arsenal weapon restrictions (Medics with Zafir for example) and because it offers some functionalities that are not present in the arsenal. I endorse this decision even though I have plenty of "kits" saved in VAS.

    VTOL Suggestion

    My first crash with people on board is behind me (32 dead :/). Note to self: 1. Do not try to fly V-22X when there is AA battery. Trying to stay under 25m with such huge bird requires more flight hours. 2. Back to the editor to train some more! Y-32 is all around better VTOL, but for me, nothing beats that feeling of flying Tiltrotor bigger than a house.
  23. You wont be able to enter mission which uses assets like buildings and objects that are used on Tanoa expansion. Weapons, gear and vehicles will behave like it was with DLCs. You can even use them for an extent (pasanger role in vehicles, equping gear through VAS or Arsenal) but you will have to sometimes endure pop-up advertisements like with marksman DLC.

    VTOL Suggestion

    I have just done some flight tests. Distance: 12 km (I&A base LZ - Forest LZ south of Molos) Time was measured after completing whole route (24km) and full landing was achieved on both LZs. I started stopwatch with spooled rotors. GhostHawk: 6:11 Huron: 6:02 V-22X: 5:05 Y-32: 4:13 (!!!) V-22X performed as expected. I need to train my aproaches and methods of bleeding speed. Top speed was around 480 kph on route (so 200kph more then helicopters). Y-32 is absolutely bonkers. It is manueverable and top speed during runs touched 680 kph. I hope they will at least reduce thrust of this bird becouse accelaration is on neophron level (!).
