Giving people privilege over some roles is something that was mentioned before, in the end it's not a friendly environment for new players, same goes for the TS tags and such. I'd advise against having to prove before you can take a role. If everything goes to shit we have the admins to fall back on. You learn by trial and error, and you can't expect people to do well on their first try.
Being a CO and having to explain every single marker is time consuming and gets people annoyed, which is why I'd choose not to be CO while this is the current way things need to be done. The balance between realism and spending actual time on the field is delicate and defines whether people are having fun or not. The mod suggested is something that would work, giving TL/SQL like a tablet with the markers on it. But why use a mod when the current map does the same thing, it just doesn't look like a tablet, but how does that matter?

Ideally another pilot would take a repair vic to the downed heli.

This is what we're trying to reduce the number of crash landings due to poor flying, a good pilot will choose a good lz away from possible danger so as not to have to crash land. 
 
These rules are going to affect the poor pilots who choose terrible landing sites where they can't land safely and end up crashing often. 
Yes everyone has a bad time now and again but if they make the effort it will not be the norm. 
We are looking at people to make a reasonable effort to repair. 
 1. Noob pilot breaks heli because he was stupid and can't fly.
2. Noob pilot is asked to leave.
3. Noob pilot refuses 
4. Noob pilot is kicked

I mean that's pretty flawless, if they can't play then how can they break the rules?

Well, what would you expect when you try to start a "Coup d'état" and get such a huge backlash. I strongly doubt he ever spoke for any masses about the current rule set.

Removal of sidechat screwed up mission planning for me. Isn't it possible to enforce a automatic kick system that when you type ANYTHING in sidechat it will kick you after 3 times? That surely stops people from using it for anything but map markers.
 
I like the realism idea of having to "manually" copy the markers, but it's not happening and in the end more of a nuisance than anything.

I hope more info becomes available soon for the 1 day joiners. I'd rather pay cash at the event when I'm absolutely sure I can attend.

I've had a bit of a recon of the area and without accomodation there are a few decent bushes suitable in the areas around the park
the best 2 prime locations are as follows 
 
First area marked HERE in below has ample supply of food from the local berry yielding shrubs
 
The Second Area marked DOWN HERE in below is more secluded but comes at a price as it is closer to the public lavatories

No they haven't, it's always been the same. We aren't milsim, we just don't want people taking the piss in what they do because that ruins the experience of others.

Quite honestly, to me, the reason why the rules appear to be getting enforced more, is because there are a lot of new players around. The problem with that, is that there are more people not following the rules, intentionally or otherwise. That means that some people - myself included - have gotten pretty tired of the amount of pissing around. Its stupid the amount of messing around that goes on sometimes. So that's meant that mods are having to enforce them more.
 
As Josh said Now it is time to clean up and make sure that certain people do.
 
EU3 has been around for ages, and it still will be around for ages. The majority of people, as you can see from above posts, are happy with the rules, and the way they are enforced. It says it when you join the server, EU3 is your place for serious game play. EU1 is always busy so I'd recommend 2 to enjoy some casual arma. 
 
If you think this is milsimming, go join a unit, then you might have a clue what that's like.

Because people don't follow the rules. Now it is time to clean up and make sure that certain people do.

The current iteration of the ruleset has been in place for at least for at least 4 months and before that there was a similar ruleset. Maybe you're new and dont know about that - but then again you should have read them to play on EU3. If you want to dick about please go else where as you will just end up spoiling play on the server for others.
 
 
Also who is this "WE" as i have not heard a complaint besides yourself.

Combat load-out minus camelback and battlebelt (which houses my secondary, smoke grenades and dump pouch, no smokes allowed this day and my secondary didn't work that day so I took it off.)
 

 
Left arm- Team Patch TTFT (Tactical Task Force Twente) (Twente is a region in the Netherlands where I currently live)
Right arm - NLD patch and 'I call My Hit' patch provided by the Dutch Airsoft Association.
Chest - More Dutch Flags, Karate and underneath a PJ patch (Paramedic Jumper, but fuck it, it's Pyjamas's now! )
On the helmet I rock another I call my hit Patch and on the back another Karate patch.

I currently run a main combination of Woodland Camo and MTP. Coyote and Dark Earth for some smaller accessories.
When I run as a contracter/rebel/civilian I will run black clothing with a minimalistic black chest rig.
