  1. In this case it seems clear that the Zeus-level staff accurately didn't consider themselves as having the authority to make that call; and didn't consider it important enough to warrant getting an Admin on the case. Had the players in question wanted to, they could have taken it upon themselves to seek out an Admin, who would have had such authority.
  2. Being an Admin in AhoyWorld is not about personally policing the servers. That's exactly why the Zeus-level players exist in the first place; to keep an eye on things on server, fix problems as needed and catch offenders when possible. No member of AhoyWorld gets a paycheck for their work. Admins have other tasks and often better things to do with their time.

    "Solid cover"

It's called "Buddy Cover" and it's grim
  4. Shouldn't have "fixed" that SL/TL really shouldn't take back his group until after he's in the field and linked up. Before then, he's not the de-facto leader of the group, as he isn't in the field yet.
  5. As I write above, the request for CAS could have been submitted on TS, or by some other method of communication that the player filing a report wouldn't be privy to, and there'd really be no way to check if a request was filed. Add to that, there's no limit on how many requests one player can file in any given amount of time, so even if a pilot is literally killing every single thing in an AO, as long as a player is working with said pilot, no rule is being broken. In such a scenario, I might take it upon myself to step in and ask them to leave something for the rest of you, but if such a scenario went down and it was reported after the fact, I don't see what could be done about it.
  6. It's always been a rule that Pilots aren't allowed to decimate the enemy on their own. Exactly how "decimate" gets interpreted is really down to whomever ends up reprimanding the pilots who do so. Enforcement can be hard. Imagine a scenario where a Pilot is on AW TeamSpeak in the EU#1 channel, along with - amongst others - someone who is calling in his bombs, even providing designation for him. To people not on TeamSpeak, it would look like he was dropping bombs on his own, as they aren't privy to the communication going on on TeamSpeak. Because of this, the AW Player Report system can't effectively be used to "catch" pilots who don't abide by this rule. One possible solution to this would be to require all CAS requests be submitted via Side Channel text, though I can't imagine that would be a popular decision.
  7. I guess I'd say step one would be getting a few of the people who are interested in running Armor together and running the Bohemia-made Altis scenario through a few times. That should be a decent training exercise in itself, but it only covers Armor use in open terrain. Things become much more complex when you're moving into dense or urban terrain, in which the Tank becomes very vulnerable to enemy attack even when abusing 3rd person. Honestly, it's not just about getting the Armor crews in shape. Working with and around Armor requires expertise on the part of the Infantry as well.
  8. @ShadowAce11, while I don't have much personal experience in video editing, I've heard good things about DaVinci Resolve, which also happens to be free. I've been told it should feel familiar if you've worked with Premier Pro. Might be worth looking into, whether you'd want to make a video for AW or not https://www.blackmagicdesign.com/products/davinciresolve/
  9. When Tanks or IFVs are used, they invariably end up dead very early on. It has in the past been extremely rare for a tank to not end up destroyed, leaving the infantry to deal with the remaining units that spawned in AO due to the use of a tank. This often makes for a very poor infantry experience. Adding more Armor to an AO when tanks are in use will not fix that problem
  10. Put your 'Hawk in a 500 meter loiter at 200 meters just north of base. Once you're ready to land it, take control and make your way to the runway. Before landing do two hard banks to bleed off your speed; you may nearly stall it, but if you're above 10 meters that won't matter.
  11. Sample loadouts. Trying to achieve some less uniform looks between AI units.
  12. So I'm working on a thing, and I'm in need of looks for AI on Lythium. I am of course creating looks as well, but the more options the better. Combinations of Clothes, Vest, Pack, Helmet and Facewear going for these styles: Afghan civilian Western civilian Factory worker Foreign fighter Ex-military militia Ex-civilian militia Guerilla fighter Any submissions appreciated.
  13. In making promotional material, I'd like to make a plea that the creators advertise the focus on the structured approach and the teamplay elements. Advertise ACE and TFAR, not RHS and 3CB. Just putting that out there
  14. Can't quite see it being that simple. What if an AT team is online, causing increased Armor presence in AO? I'd need that team in the field. What if my Engineer is the culprit, or my Medic? I agree with the sentiment in general, but there are situations where I really wouldn't be comfortable leaving base without that slot coming with.
  15. There were restrictions back in those days too, though they came in the form of a forum list.
  16. Context is king, and I don't know the context for a flying submarine or Off-road truck. Such a thing shouldn't happen during normal play, and while I'd prefer it not happen - ever - on a live server; if an Admin was having a few laughs before everyone logs off for the night, that's certainly nowhere near the severity of the OPs situation.
  17. I would love for AhoyWorld to utilize one of its many I&A servers not for a different map for instead for a somewhat more structured teamwork experience. Yes, the dreaded "other place" comes to mind, and does prove that there is a market for such. That said; such a server, again evident by the "other place", often doesn't work in practice when the enforcers aren't hawk-like and ever-present. Such a style may be better served in scheduled events, rather than as a permanent - and thus often unchecked - fixture.
  18. ArmA update today. If you can't find EU#1, you likely need to update first.
  19. Would have liked to see how RHS 7.62 AP rounds stood up to BAF AP. At any rate, seems to confirm my own weapon choices, so happy camper I guess
  20. If you wanna test round lethality, do it with the common weapon archetypes? RHS Mk18 with RHS M318 rounds RHS HK416 with RHS M318 rounds RHS Mk 11 Mod 0 with RHS M993 rounds RHS EBR with RHS M993 rounds RHS Glock 17 with RHS FMJ rounds BAF L85A2 with BAF rounds BAF L129A1 with BAF rounds BAF Glock 17 with BAF rounds Use Russian and Insurgent units as targets. For vehicles, test RPG-7s and RPG-22s against variants of Bradley and Abrams?
  21. Has there been any discussion in Admin and Core about whether Liberation could be a good fit for Ahoy?
