Hi everyone, I've played in the server a few times and quite enjoyed myself. I needed to find a server without team killing and better co-op play, and I think I found it. I'm online most afternoons (GMT) and I look forward to meeting you all on Altis

The leave group button has been there for the entire time and you could have left any time you wished. Also there are many lines of communication available to everyone in the community, via the forums, Discord and teamspeak, that could have been used by yourself to get any issues resolved within good time. However it was not brought to my attention that it was something causing an issue to you or anyone in the community my other commitments to the community have been taking a precedent. 
 
As you can see as soon as the issue was raised action was taken to ensure that all parties are happy with the outcome.

I simply made a comment stating that the group in question was not in fact under your control and the community did not need to contact you in regards to gaining the ownership because we already had it. 
 
Also Ryko is in the group and was already an administrator. 

 
 
What is impressive to me is the approach to getting the issue resolved by yourself. i think that would class as impressive for all the wrong reasons.

Well, that was an interesting one from my perspective. First time going Vortex for an Enhanced op so thanks for people being patient with me.
 
This is pretty much what happened from my end (hmm this is actually a bit of a novel):
 
 
Lessons for me (and anyone considering going Vortex for Enhanced, but never has😞
1) Familiarity with the aircraft. I was flying advanced flight model, I enjoy the challenge, but I need to be aware of how the bird performs both loaded and unloaded (and you'll never catch me flying an unfamiliar aircraft with AFM on). Nearly dunking an entire squad into the sea after they survived the operation is not ideal! I think I should have skipped flying Vortex in EU1 earlier in the day and just tried things out in the editor for that time.
2) Going around on a landing is much more time efficient than having a successful crash in the LZ, especially when it makes the entire island go "what the f was that noise?"
3) Establish procedure for when Vortex is not at base and reinserts are needed. Either "fly within LoS of base" or "Make sure Command/FAC knows to relay requests over terrain".
4) Don't worry, I'm changing ISP on Tuesday
 
Feedback is appreciated, especially from anyone that flies a lot of AFM. I was lucky (?) to have @Norris in the doomed-seat for my crash, I'm sure he was wishing he could grab the controls during that! I would either like direct feedback on the mission performance or from a passenger at some point if anyone is willing.
 
Feedback to Gambit:
Really, really gorgeous setting. Love the map choice, the atmosphere, and after a poke around in the editor, the little setpieces that Vortex in-mission would never see like the mass grave.
3 Vortex would have been useful - maybe have the 3rd slot available and only allow a 3rd pilot if player count exceeds n. Could probably have done the insert in 1 flight (command spread out over the 3 birds, they had spare seats with an entire squad aboard) and in the event of "emergent situations" then there is less risk of mission pace getting totally messed up. Also allows reinserts to be managed while another bird is doing observations.
A TV back at base for when people are good at not dying. Honestly the need for stealth in this op made it sensible to have birds grounded when not absolutely necessary. I was constantly worried our observation flight would be noticed.
 
I have not replayed a mission in my head so much for a while.

Evening all, I've played I&A3 on and off for a while now, but Uni and a slightly terrible laptop have put a stop to that since summer. However I'm now home, and have a new laptop (on which ARMA is downloading on as I type!)

Situation
It appears that the loyalists are not happy that the UN has recognised our government as the rulers of the West African Republic. They have begun targeting UN forces. They have ambushed a UN group escorting a humanitarian aid convoy to the North and simultaneously begun to assault the main UN HQ in Camara. The UN forces have requested our aid.
 
 
Assets:
3 x BTR80 (Usable only when a full crew is available)
2 x Mi-24G
Various ground support vehicles
 
 
Friendly Forces:
Army of the Western African Republic 
 
Enemy Forces:
Loyalist forces controlled by the government of Joseph Lumumba
 
Neutral Forces:
A coalition of UN troops 
 
Civilians:
Civilian presence to be expected, concentrated in built up areas.
 
Mission
Provide aid to the UN forces to the North and to their HQ near Camara.
 
 
Execution
Objectives:
1. Rescue the UN escort and the humanitarian workers they are protecting.
2. Break the siege on the UN HQ at Camara.
3. Engage and neutralise any loyalist forces or equipment encountered
 
Movement Plan:
At Commanders discretion
 
Rules of Engagement:
Enemies may be engaged on sight based on current squad orders
Civilians are present in the area so collateral damage is to be kept to a minimum.

Equipment & Resupply:
At the commander’s control, assets are available at base to facilitate this.
 
Reinforcements:
Unlimited
At commanders discretion, transport assets are available.

Command:
Overall command lays with codename "Overlord" who will set objectives and ROE.
Operational control on the ground lies with the Platoon Commander.

Radio channels are set for each element and can be viewed as part of the Diary accessible through the map . Platoon has limited discretion for change but structure is to be maintained.

I've been playing I&A3 for quite some time and recently found out about the Liberation server (This forums as well 😛) and decided to dive right in and get a bit more social.

I have just realised there is a person here called @William that isn't me, but is hoovering up all my votes!

I am going to be frank and hope that you see my honesty as constructive and not complaining for the sake of it.
 
If you keep I&A 4 in it’s current iteration, it will change the climate of EU1. I started playing Arma on EU1 and stayed because I enjoyed the relative freedom it gave me to pick and learn a role and also squad up with whomever I wanted to and have my friends in roles that they wanted to play as well. I enjoyed being able to earn reward vehicles and drove them without needing to change slots to do so. 
 
It was also simple and fairly idiot-proof. A great place where new players can learn and also feel welcome in the AW community. 
 
I feel that while I&A4 does have positives to it, I just am not motivated to play it. I feel restricted and overwhelmed . I do not like the map and that I cannot see all the objective markers at all times. i don’t want to grind a few hours just to get the loadout I enjoy playing with. It is changing what was a casual server into something less so. You have AWE to offer a more serious experience for those wanting it.
 
I also wonder if you, Ryko, have spent much time on I&A3 and seen what makes it so special and also the sort of players who regularly play there and how they approach the game. I wonder if the changes are even being made with the current player base in mind or if these are taken simply from the perspective of experienced and more serious players.
 
So I ask that you conduct a little experiment while the beta is up. See how long your regular players are on server for compared to I&A3. Look at guys like TheScar and Pickle who easily log some of the most hours on EU1. Players that are the backbone of your current community.
 
I personally average seven hours a day playing Arma and had the best weekend this past weekend with a lot of fun and bullshittery. I have made friends and feel part of a great community. I fear these changes will take a lot of that away and it makes me incredibly sad.
 
I am sorry if this comes across in any way badly as that’s not my intention. I hope you will see this as coming from a passionate player who is invested in not just the game but the community too.
