    What do we want? To go back to the old way of being a medic!
     
    When do we wan't it? Erm well anytime, but we understand that you might not be able to implement this anytime soon, but to know it might be something you'd consider and would potentially implement in the future even though technically this is it the wrong area to suggest an idea to be implemented, would be grand!
     
    So yeah, you've been told... and stuff.

    So these are my opinions on it.
     
    It's buggy, often the option to revive doesn't appear, or the procedure halts halfway through, or it 'works' and the revived player cannot get up.
     
    Perma death happens way too often, from artillery and heavy weapons fair enough, but from small arms it's just annoying to be domed from 500m through a helmet by an enemy you can barely see and now back to base. There is no need for it on a pub server, allow revives and let them get back in the fray; realistic? No. Better? Yes
     
    Heli crashes at an AO could mean if there is a medic on the scene, he could revive them all; rather than the respawn, new chopper, return to AO rigmarole; realistic? No. Better? Yes
     
    Downed players are purple on the map, unidentified enemies/NPCs are purple on the map as well. Used to be orange and there was a marker on your hud and distance; realistic? No. Better? Yes
     
    Used to be able to chat in text while down, now nothing is available; realistic? No. Better? Yes
     
    Realism is fine in small doses and Arma has enough in vanilla for those that want it, for those that want more realism, we have the lovely AWEU3

    Hahaha! 1 launcher and 14 ATs and 24 APs to be exact!  2nd launcher is for AA which I rarely use.

    Agree with Scar on his observations.
     
    Last night I was laying there, the medic close by got a prompt from someone I needed help as he had no idea I was down (unlike the old obvious markers etc) and when he came over I could hear him trying his damndest but I couldn't respond. Eventually I respawned, felt bad as I couldn't tell him to give up trying as it was bugged, and I understood he tried.
     
    The old system wasn't perfect, but it worked 90% of the time.

    We are talking about the mentality of public players (who, unfortunately, have brittle fingers to press 'W' or 'up' for virtual route march) here. The only way for pilots not to be at the receiving end of toxic treatment is for foot soldiers to be educated.
     
    We can either have:
    a script that appears whenever they board an air or VTOL transport with a message: "Mark LZ. Do not abuse pilots" or pilots manually forewarn passengers in Vehicle Chat (foresee trading of insults between pilot and passengers) AW EU 1 & 2 will have a constant stream of new players and we need to remind them and our regulars consistently. If no LZ is marked, pilots can mark them after 3 questions for a preferred location goes unanswered. We would not want those innocent passengers to suffer the consequences because of the decisions of the few.
     
    My biggest gripe is when unfamiliar maverick pilots fly in closer to the AO past our marked LZ. Total disregard for Tigrises and AA riflemen.

    For those who are interested in having settings which would maximise their in-game performance with great visuals, here is a short guide for you.

    Arma 3 Launcher settings;

     
    Someone (don't remember who) said if you're using an i7 6700k use this command line; 
    -cpuCount=4 -high -maxmem=15360 -noBenchmark -noLogs -noPause -noSplash -world=empty
     
    It did somewhat give me a more stable fps count and after using this command line I had less frequent memory leaks, they happen at random, sometimes after serveral hours and other times after 20-30min (don't qoute me on whether it's true or not, it just is for me).
     
    Ingame settings;
     

     

     
    After I been using these settings I gained about 20-30fps myself and mostly work with stable 60fps, however this drops to about 30-40 if the server has been up for quite some time. In Zeus I get a stable 40-50fps and after serveral hours server uptime it drops to 20-30 with a full server.
     
    My rig;
     
    These settings work for me, they may not work for you. Maximizing all my settings seem to give me the best overal performance ingame, I get less fps using the lower settings and they don't seem to be stable for me. Hope this will help some of you, if not, just keep playing with your settings and eventually you'll find the settings best suited for your rig.

    Taking my annoyances aside, changing the medic to this abomination made @fir_nev become a hilltop Titan sniper with a million rockets in his Hemtt, I've seen the evidence. You've literally 'Scarred' him for life.

    Haha thanks, I'll sort that later.
     
    Whats worse is my icon and channel header (and my old profile pic here) had the word Gamberbug for about a year, it took one of the Dev's from The Black Death to notice and tell me. I think my Twitch channel still does.
     
    Also all my videos are called 'first impressions' but all the images says 'initial impressions.' I have no consistency.

    1) God yes, please do; I've never known the miniguns to provide any benefit.
    2) Good advice, I would say all good pilots do, but newer ones may not.
    3) Common courtesy but it's a good shout.
    4) You need to try whatever you can to get that repaired, it's really frowned upon to just blow it up. However the TK think is an issue but think I read they have/are looking into it (might have been dreaming though). However if your bird is crippled then no one should have died.
    5) Again common courtesy, commendable.
    6) Where to start, it's covered elsewhere well enough by many of us, but if a LZ is chosen and you as the pilot think it's safe, all good, if not it's your bird. Though instead of deleting a bad LZ mark it as a bad LZ, or someone else will ask for one close by once it is deleted.
    7) Your bird your call, but yes get some indication of whereabouts and if possible a rough idea of an LZ.
     
    All good advice.

    Hi folks,
     
    So it turns out that many of you don't like the new TS Tags, and that's fair.  This is a classic case of starting with a small task (fix the AWE moderator tag) that snowballed into a larger task (design something that makes sense across all the icons) and exploded into a big thing (create a whole new theme).
     
    And it was done in isolation, assuming that it was such a small thing that no one would care or perhaps even notice.  Boy was I wrong!
     
    So, here's how I'd like to go forward from here:
     
    1) We'll go back to the older tags for now.
    2) I'd like to start a design competition where everyone can submit their concepts for what new tags could be, with an actual prize.
    3) When people have made submissions, we'd submit them to a vote, in addition to the current legacy tags.
    4) If a new set of tags is chosen by majority vote, that person would win the actual prize. If the old legacy tags are chosen, then a random person who submitted tags will win.
     
    and in general, any changes to all aspects of the site, no matter how small, will be conducted with consultation. I appreciate that you people care about how we do things here, and if you didn't, it wouldn't be the great place that it is.

    I think most people who play on the servers don't even come on the forums and have no idea who anyone even is on staff, so don't really see this as any sort of demise.

    What would consitute "players who participated in the mission"
     
    If assets are limited (ie one heavy tank) it could cause issues as it might feel again that it is first come first served to purchasing the asset. And there could still be a monopoly.
     
    Now I can see this being a question, and why not I guess - could rewards be gear/weapons outside of your class? I like and hate the idea to be fair, but if they were really expensive it might not ba a bad thing (and I mean more expensive than a tank).
     
    But I really like the potential here.

    It's time for the admin team to ask your much-valued opinion, as many of you may have noticed the current reward system is viewed as sub-par by many long-term players and this has spurred the admin team into a careful discussion of our current options.
     
    What we are thinking about is a complete rework of the current reward system, and therefore I&A itself. Here's the down low on our current idea, subject to changes and open to criticism and suggestions:
     
    Remove non-standard vehicles from all default spawns (including FOB's and any other old spawning methods) Add a point-based system for the purchase of non-standard vehicles, points will be awarded for... Completing AO's, Main, Priority and Side (NOT individual kills) Transporting Troops Team-based actions, for example reviving or repairing Add a point-based system for the purchase of other combat aides, artillery strikes for example. Reward points are both individual and squad-based: so you can buy rewards as an individual, or donate your points to your squad so the squad leader can buy larger rewards. Reward squad-based play without penalizing solo play, for example, players complete a mission: All players on the server get 10 individual points All players who participated in the mission get 100 individual points All squads who participated in the mission gets 50 communal points Squad leader gets +25 points (These values are wildly speculative and subject to change) Reduce player point gain in non-standard vehicles to encourage their use as a support rather than a *Lets Complete the AO* (This also promotes a fairer distribution of assets amongst players). While players are mounted on certain vehicles, they accumulate points differently: 1st class : Armoured vehicles, vehicles with cannons : no points with active reward of that kind
    2nd class : Medium vehicles, vehicles with guns : half points 3rd class : Transport vehicles : full points Limit the number of extreme assets (i.e. the Slammer) to prevent overuse. E.G. MAX 1 Heavy Tank
    MAX 1 Gunship class helicopter
    MAX 3 APC Class Vehicles
    etc...
     
    Here is a WIP list of proposed spawnable's, exact point costs yet to be discussed.
