January 15th 2019 was my first public server experience in Arma 3. EU1. I was miles out of my depth, but got hooked quickly. I haven't yet felt like I needed to go anywhere else in Arma. So from the perspective of someone who has never been in any of the admin type channels, it has looked like you've run a pretty tight ship with minimal bullshit rolling down to where us mooks would notice. No pressure on the next person!

@Walk'N I've thought about doing a type of sign up thing, but generally life gets in the way and people have to drop out or are late.
I don't want someone worrying if they are running late because they have signed up, at the end of the day its just a game and real life comes first.

I know people being late did slow things down last week but unfortunately that is probably something we have to live with.

    Hi,

I guess I got to Ahoyworld through some Youtube videos I have been watching. I'm fairly new to Arma3 but enjoy my first MP experiences and even managed to build my first tiny mission to be played with some local friends. With a background in IT and game programming, I thought a bit of scripting wouldn't hurt. Loooking forward to meeting you on TS and in-game.

I think this whole year has been a tough one for us all.

Myself and the rest of the gang all seem to have something going on now or through the year which has been a bit of a pain.

Regardless of all that, thank you for sticking by us all and continuing the work where the stars align, we're all grateful.

Thanks for your work Mark, I haven't had the chance to speak to you much but I never doubted how important you have been in the community.

Heres to 2020! I hope that after a much needed Christmas break for us all, the community can rise back up and look forward to what will hopefully be a brilliant year for AhoyWorld.

P.S: @mastif0 should get a freaking award for how much he's donated in the past month or so.

What a difference a year makes, this time last year we were looking at closing shops and now I would say we are pretty stable for at least another year

As mentioned numerous times before, thank you all for your support and long may it continue.

I would like to apologies on the delay of IA4 and its new AWE counterpart, it has taken a lot longer than we had anticipated due to a number of reasons. (real life) Hopefully it wont be too long now.

Lastly, This will be my last update, I have decided that I will call it time come the end of this month and step down from the staff team completely.
I just want to thank each and everyone of you for your support especially those in the staff team and to those that brought me in, helped me along the way and trusted me at the top, thank you, you know who you are ❤️

You are to meet with the elders and obtain any information they can give us. Following this you are to liaise with command to determine the best course of action.

    Situation
We as part of the US 1st Cavalry division are tasked with maintaining security in the Mekong river delta. We have setup an airbase known as Mike-3 in order to establish our presence in the area.  We were chosen for this task as this area is largely impassable to ordinary ground forces. Air assault troopers are ideal for this environment. The enemy have been concentrating in this area due to the thick vegetation and hostile terrain.

4 weeks into our deployment to Airbase Mike - 3 and a Huey extracting part of second platoon was downed, by a suspected anti air cannon, while returning to base. We are being scrambled to secure the crash site and search for survivors. We are then tasked to secure the immediate area and search for any sign of the enemy and their anti air weapon.

Generally, anyone is free to commandeer an MRAP or Troop transport and insert themselves, rather than relying on helicopters.  As Stanhope and Toast indicate it's more about getting players into the action quickly.  But you're free to play any way you want.

The side missions (which failed during testing, we only had one, and then a second after I spawned it) are supposed to simulate this kind of action.  A convoy mission is never going to happen in Arma because the AI is pathetic at driving.  Plus, you need to build in so much exception handling: what does the convoy do if it's engaged?   Etc.  But mostly it's just about the fact that even if you spawn all the vehicles in a column on the road, they will inevitably crash into each other.

We tried running VCOM once on I&A... it brought the server to a standstill.  It's great, but there is a player cap on performance.

No convoy mission or mission like this, but a new concept in IA4 is that a primary AO will be considered "completed" when you eliminate 85% of the units.  So there will be some units left in the AO, and they receive a new mission to travel to the next AO, so you will find moving between AOs in this case.

Enjoying playing on the new update, however found that randomly i would get multiple zeus pop up  after pressing Y a minute later some times and cause my arsenal to randomly kick me out sticking me in arsenal view causing a relog. and there sometimes is a script error whilst joining causing a time out and players to be forced to wait the wait timer before reconnecting due to not being able to load in due to the error.  unfortunately didn't manage to get a screenshot of script, but it is to do with the loading in and the pop up i assume.

Just to build up comradery with some nice guys and to overcome myself to be ready to fight through these missions was/is a great and beautiful experience. All the missions were great fun and immersive as hell. I am glad to have been a part of it.

    Hello there
Hello everybody. At this point I would like to thank you sincerely. Your commitment was very noticeable. I always thought it was great fun. It brought the comunity together and always gave great pleasure. Such an assignment is not self-evident. I understand very well that at some point you burned out and that his real life had priority. The missions so far have been great, I've enjoyed them immensely! I feel they have given a lot to the community and they have most certainly been the highlight of the week for me! Thank you for that to everyone who participated.

I do however also very much understand the feeling of being burned out by doing them weekly, it is a lot of hard work and as always sometimes a mission or parts of them stir up some drama, which can be tiring. I also understand the time constraints and the toll doing these missions place on RL and vice versa. I myself rarely get anything done uninterrupted between working and the kid growing up.

However I would like to keep things open by suggesting we take a little break and see what the situation is in a few weeks. I'd also like to remind everybody that if anybody has any mission suggestions, ideas for single or multiple game nights don't be afraid to share them, together we can make these missions come true as and for the community!

Schubz reacted to Xwatt in Cancellation Of The Sunday Zeus Operations - For now!
After heavy consideration, I've decided to cancel the Sunday Zeus Operations. I feel now is the best time, as we have ended the Malden campaign, and I feel cancellation now, would be better than doing it halfway through the next one.

I've decided to stop for two main reasons. Firstly, personal time constraints mean that I no longer have the ability to feasibly run these missions. I have to test new versions, plan the mission during the week, and then dedicate pretty much all Sunday to making the mission (2 hours to build, 2-3 hours runtime.) Secondly I have been feeling extremely burnt out from the Sunday Operations, with my motivation and excitement for them steadily decreasing, to the point where it's feeling more of a chore than an excitement.

Hopefully this won't come as too much of a burden, I see Midnight's upcoming Unsung Vietnam campaign has been genertating lot's of excitement beyond what the Sunday Operations ever have. I believe that them missions will still keep the community entertained on a weekly basis.

I hope to run a PVP event once every 2 weeks for maybe an hour or so, keep your eyes open for further details.

With the Ambulance removing this ugly transporter at Main we coud improve the Medic Gameplay. Guys askd us about our Role and it get acepted quickly. We Revived at this Day at least 40+ ( mostly TK as always XD ) and we had a lot of fun using the Force of the unarmd Ambulance.  Its a simple Way to Play the role of a Medic on its finest.

    Yeah, I like this idea.

After speaking with the public mod team we've decided that we will replace the transport van with the ambulance. The only condition is that the sirens will be disabled. Due to the noise of it and the range that it can be heard at. It may get frustrating for players always having to hear it.

So as some of you know already I am planning a lightly modded Vietnam campaign for the Friday night mission slot.
To do this we will be using just 3 mods to make it as accessible as possible to the entire community.
For anyone who currently plays on our EU2 Zeus ops has just 1 more mod to download.

I'm looking at starting this on Friday 15th November, but will confirm closer to the date.

    The required mods are:
    CBA_A3: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=450814997&searchtext=cba
