Doc got a reaction from THE PUNISHER in Additions to I&A - JETS DLC
    For me personally,

    - I would like to see the new UCAV drone added to the drone pool, but not fully replace the greyhawks. Maybe have one like the Huron compared to the rest of the helicopters.
    - I also think that the USS Freedom should be added somewhere near the center of the map, in that "bay" right below the "main" airfield. I also think that it should be an FOB available for use. Primarily for VORTEX pilots to access the new Jets and possibly have the UCAV drone there.
    - I also think that dogfighting missions should be a thing over the main AO. Say when all Tigresses are destroyed, a enemy Jet spawns above and the only real way to take it out is to have a VORTEX pilot take a get and shoot it down.
    - I personally believe that we should add maybe 1 or 2 more VORTEX slots just to accommodate the new planes, if added that is.

That is just my thoughts, maybe I'm just overly-excited and really want to see new things.

@Theronas Ah! Dun worry about it. As long as those vehicle/containers with medical values can be used for reviving, Ur idea widens the approach to assist downed players.

@Theronas, Ur idea of Taru actually brought a whole new suggestion for I&A 3.1.4 onwards. Replace Huron and its containers altogether since attaching pods looks a lot cooler but I digress. Gives pilots a new dimension with their involvement in the completion of AOs.

    Superb ideas...

Hey, so I do like all these ideas a lot! As for the medic side of it I personally use a unarmed hunter to drive around the AO as a medic to revive people. From memory in most cases there has been no medic around the downed player and the closest medic was on the other side of the AO, they were 90% surprised to see me roll up in a hunter just to revive them. Now there have been times where I have been looking at the map to see if a medic is playing his role as sometimes there is a medic that goes around a big group of friendlies and is concentrating on the fire fight instead of concentrating on playing his/her role, now I have gotten maybe about half way to the downed player in the hunter or just rolled up to them to find that the player has finally seen the downed player and has either revived them or is in the process of reviving them.

Side note: I forget who said it about there not being a Admin or Zeus player on.... I've noticed that most of the Admins are based in the Europe region and there are a lot of players in the North American region so when the Admins are signing off there are players signing on...I don't know if you should have a more diverse group of admins so that there is coverage on the server all the time because when I sign on there are mostly always no admins on and the players tend to abuse things more often when they know there is no admin online. Just a thought though as I know there is a application for the admin role and there is a message that pops up on the server at the beginning of the game saying youre always on the lookout for admins. Again just a thought.

Oh and I posted this before but maybe implement a system of players being able to STABILIZE the downed player giving the medic time to get there. Again just another thought.

I think that we might be able to meet a common ground here on this matter.

GamerbugUK doesn't want this to become a overpowered beast where we just have 100 AT soldiers crowded around one truck reviving each other and bombarding the AO with missiles.

fir_nev wants to help out the players and have a revive and heal point, which is very understandable.

I think that we might be able to reach a compromise that will fulfill the requirements that fir_nev wants but doesn't exceed what GamerbugUK think's is too OP. I believe that this 'new' HEMMET medical should be able to transport troops, but has extremely limited inventory space. The inventory space, which will be tiny, should be primarily used for FAK's. This way we still have that hospital on wheels but its not also a armory on wheels.

But I also think that we have one more issue to fix before anything else happens. This kind of ties into one of my posts on re-doing the side missions, but we need a Taru(correct me if i'm wrong, pilots) to airlift these HEMMET. Now, ill admit, I have driven a HEMMET Medical to an AO once, to set up that FOB but it took forever and the AO was quite close to base. If the admins to implement this system for the HEMMET Medical and don't implement a good way to transport it, well, I think that it will "die" off and no-one will use it. I think that a good compromise to allow the players to get their hands on a Taru could be by completing the "Secure Enemy Helicopter" side mission. This logically makes sense, a CSAT helicopter, Taru, is secured for NATO use. We could then ask VORTEX to fly that HEMMET out to the AO.

If GamerbugUK or if anyone else feels that we should not have this special HEMMET Medical truck right from the start, that is understandable. (I'm not saying this is what I want, I am simply proposing ideas if people don't agree with mine) What we could do if the admins and player base did not want the HEMMET Medical always around because of its OPness we could do something similar to the Taru. It could be earned through a side mission. Now I think that we might need to invent a side-mission for this, maybe "Secure Enemy Truck" or "Assault Enemy Hospital". After a successful completion of this this new and improved HEMMET Medical truck will spawn at base.

As seen in fir_nev's videos that he posted, it is an extremely valuable resource that is just plain awesome!

But that's just my two cents on the matter. What do you guys think about this idea?

    Hello All,

I appreciate the call for 'Clear Vehicle Inventory' has been answered and implemented.

Now, with the public players occupying medic slots and dying in the AO leaving infantry helpless, we need a radical solution! We need players who know their stuff to set up Battalion Casualty Station (BCS). @Patrik and @Doc, please correct me as I am typing this without any reference.

To have a BCS, we need a vehicle with certain attribute. The ability to HEAL, which only HEMTT Medical has. Not just that, I ask for the vehicle to be bestowed with the ability to REVIVE incapacitated players. This is so that they can be dragged or carried away from the action for treatment/revive and continue the fight in AO. It will cut down the respawn frequency and reduce waiting time if the server is lacking pilots.

Before this can be done, I strongly suggest
fix the revive bug set the damage model to basic so that players can appreciate medic's role allow chat for downed casualties whatever is written by @GamerbugUK in the linked post below

    @razgriz33

I have come across several specific bugs that others may have mentioned:

    1. In some instances, there is no available option to revive, drag, carry etc. This could be a texture glitch but the medical revive "symbol" is above there body where is should be.

    2. Insta-death is something that I strongly disagree. I understand that in most cases you do down and any damage after that kills you, but when you and your squad accidentally runs into a tigris and as the medic see your screen fill up with red revive symbols and then have the explosive rounds finish off your teammates can be very frustrating. A "fix" of this would be to be invincible after death and have two options available, one to call for a medic, this would increase your star of life symbol. (Similar to pinging a zeus, your player icon increases in size and then gradually shrinks) The second button would be a "give up" button where you just respawn.

    3. When dragging a teammate and you are killed, your teammate is stuck in the drag position, unable to be revived for "re-dragged".

That's all the major bugs and a suggestion!

Yeah there is also the bug where you can't revive a downed person occasionally, the option just doesn't show up.

Medic slots are desirable, probably goes sniper->marksman->medic->AT (ignoring pilot as it's a non combat role), but that doesn't mean others desire their help, just that people want to be them; which is Doc's concern.

Some also choose medic as they can heal themselves to full health without worrying about depleting FAKs (though youd need to carry 10 Faks to weigh as much as one medkit). Making them a self healing infantryman.

I don't think you should penalise people for respawning, would just annoy on a public server.

the mission parameter allows for gradual adjustment of lethal damage (in factors of "vanilla death damages") currently it's 3.
another tweakable value is the respawn delay which has been set to 10 seconds (i think it was 3). although that applies in both cases of death and manual respawn.

    further variations:
respawn could be inhibited in the first minute of inconsciousness linking the bleedout timer with the respawn delay (the respawn delay would be i.e. 30% of the remaining bleedout time) so the longer you wait the faster you respawn but rewarding people for staying dead, or punishing them for respawns could cause collateral effects to playerbase/style.

interestingly, medic slots are still pretty high in demand and get picked out among the first.

PS sometimes i got a bug where the timer runs faster than normal (around 3 times), leaving no real option of waiting for help. plus i get the feeling the bug when you cannot move after respawning occurs more often when the timer runs out.

I feel your pain, I used to be primarily a medic, though my gripe came from the change/nerf to the revive system where a lot more instakills happened.

You'll find there are a lot of people who don't know they even can be rievived and automatically hit respawn. Others see no medic is close by and respawn, some will see a medic 300m away and then see that distance meter not move at all, or start counting upwards and realise they are not getting revived, which can make them jaded.

The removal of being able to call for a medic when down has also meant people have no way of knowing if that medic even knows they are down.

    So to help you can..
tell the downed soldier you are on your way. always try to make some effort to head towards a downed soldier so they see the distance closing and feel you are trying to get there. keep them updated, let them know you've stalled due to a tonk or something. Unfortunately if you go down on the way to help, you wont then be able to update them you're incapacitated (see below) AW hopefully can...
Re add chat when down (consider it the injured guy radioing for help). remove instakills even from tanks etc (no its not realistic but its more fun). If people know they dont die instantly it will catch on to hang around for a medic add clearer markers for downed soldiers (currently purple same as unidentified AI).

Medics aren't that good these days (on I&A), but it used to be true that a good medic would save most people a return trip to base after being downed.

This is great thought, mate. Medics working with their squads are pain in the arse for any zeus scenario, because theres litteraly no realistic way to take them down. Not even speaking about AO incursions, squad of 4-5 men and a careful medic can handle whole AO in half an hour or so.

I have been playing Arma 3 since 2014 and I have really enjoyed it. I started off just messing with the flight mechanics of the game and was content messing around in the scenarios and sometimes the editor if I wanted to experiment. Eventually I took on a more of a multiplayer role with my friends and I when we played scenarios together through hamachi. In between scenarios with my friends I was a pilot of a few RP servers and was having fun. But then the fun of flying kinda died off for me and I wanted a different style of play throughout Arma. I started bouncing between servers, testing roles, kits, just seeing what felt "right"  for me. Then one day I was playing on a wasteland server with my friends and realized the potential and ability of a medic. (See how this relates to my name?) A good medic, I found, could single handled turn the tide of an engagement. I then went back to those servers I had written off before hand and experimented with playing varying types of medics. I found that I loved this style of play and how powerful whilst incredibly helpful at the same time.
    --How I came across AW:
I imagine that this tale might sound slight abnormal at first, but hey, I managed to find myself here! The man that got AW on my radar was, and he needs no introduction, Liru the Lance Corporal. I was watching one of his streams and he recommended AW as a great server. I hopped on and I am in love. Since then I have been playing on EU#1 and EU#2 mainly as a medic but I do employ my piloting skills when the need arises. I am also thinking about starting zeusing and I am just coming to grasps with it now. Hopefully one day ill be able to zeus around here! (Could someone please link me to application process for zeusing so I know where to start once I get better? Thanks!)
    --My IRL difficulties:
Sadly I attend a boarding school on the East coast of the USA, because of their strict rules I am unfortunately unable to bring my desktop there and play arma. Therefore I am limited to just breaks and summer when ill be able to play on the servers. However, I do hope that ill be able to be an active community member through the forms over the school year.
