    +1 on the MAT thing. Despite its setbacks it is better to use in my opinion then the Javelin, as for why:
     
    Javelin is lock-on only, meaning you spent 10 seconds exposed to enemy fire to engage your target, give or take a few seconds. Javelin only locks-on when in thermal view, yet we cringe at the idee of infantry using thermal/nightstalker sights on their main guns. Javelin has some freakish moments, were the round on top-down mode just bounces of tanks. Waste of those 10 sec exposed Cons for the Maaws (aldo some i see as pro's)
     
    It is unguided, meaning a measure of skill is required to aim it properly. You need to manualy zero, unlike with the Javelin who needs no zero-ing since its guided. It can have trouble punching throught armor targets, like T80/T90 and abrams, due to angle or hit location. One pro to the Maaws is that the rounds weighs significantly less per piece, and you can take more of them in the same backpack then Javelin ammo. So you might end up just as heavy, but with say 3 shots more, or 6 if you have a ammo bearer, you have a more lasting effect on enemy armor present at the AO.
     
    While the Maaws is not as sure of a one-hit-kill as the Javelin i still find it more reliable and easy to use. We might want to encourge people to use these launchers more as MAT to get them experienced at AT roles more then the fire and forget Javelin will. M3 Maaws simple requires more skill, even if everyone should be able to use it basicly after testing it for a day since its not that hard of a launcher to use.

    It's more than capable of a  one hit mobility or weapon system kill on the newer models of Russian tanks, as me and Johnson saw on EU3 the other day when we were in a HAT team.
     
    There's also versatility to the available rounds, that squad half a klick ahead need smoke cover now? The MAAWS has got you covered. Need a large area lit up at night? Just fire up a flare round and let the light of King Gustav shine down on all in about a half klick radius. Got a platoon of poorly spaced Russians advancing on you? Dump a HE in there, problem solved (Umbrellas not provided).
     
    Replacing one of the HAT teams with a MAT team would allow a greater spread of weapons to be brought to a battlefield, allowing squad level AT to disable ifvs or apcs they run into, MAT to nail other ifvs and apcs that are moving in and potentially knock the track off an MBT and allow HAT to concentrate on MBTs solely

    Any chance we could get a MAT team added to Gauntlet for US forces?

    I'm in love with the M3 MAAWs on EU#3 so I would love to legally be allowed to use it in an AT team like MAT if its possible.
     
    + when it comes down to AT on EU#3 (which is all I live for) I can kick so much more ass with a dummy fire M3 than lock on Javelin.

    I cry every second I'm away from that beautiful M3 beast.

    If you'd were to use it, I'd suggest heavily down grading the mod and only selecting a few categories/theme's. Dress-up on the server is already as bad as it is.

    Pretty cool but its not too often you'll get to use them practically due to a higher percentage of time spent in the mission as day than night.

    Were getting some new gear soon from RHS soon anyway if your getting a bit bored.

    Make generally playing on Gauntlet harder for a single soldier. For example remove friendly unit map markers to give the individual less knowledge of what is going on. Restricting to first person only is also another way of making it harder for one man to play as well as giving AI more of a "punch" with their arsenal of weapons and vehicles as I said in Adshields post about the Challenger.
     
    I'm almost certain that by increasing the difficulty for one man to survive on the battlefield, the more likely they are to rely on teamwork, cooperation and communication between each other (which I'm sure we all want more of on EU#3) in order to actually function and make a dent on the enemy side (which, if strengthened, would be much more rewarding than it is currently).
     
    Apart from that I think its pretty damn fun when we actually get some players on it!
     
    Edit: Shame I writ this at 1:30AM and couldnt tell the difference between "EU#2" and "EU#3" otherwise this point may be valid.

    I like the topic you mentioned at the end, definitely one to discuss with everybody to see how they feel about it.
     
    Balance has actually been brought up before and it's a tricky one. Keep posting your thoughts for and against chaps and we'll see if we can pick out a common theme.

    Well TBH, as much as I like to see a variety of roles and slots being filled by players working as a team to give the immersion of a fully functional platoon, I think the requirement of a MBT, in most situations, is rare. This is seemingly due to the fact that the maps we currently play on EU3 are not ideal for tank-to-tank combat (which is pretty much where a MBT would be a balanced benefit for the team allow equal amounts of fun for INF and tank crew men). Primarily we never get any type of Russian armor standard INF units cant handle such as Russian MBTs like the T-80. Most amoured contact that is encountered by friendly forces are mostly BTRs and BNPs as im sure you are all aware of however this is easily handled by INF that can stick to their roles (carrying AT-4s and MAAWs/JAVs for HAT teams). If more Russian MBTs were to be introduced into common EU3 missions then im sure they would be a higher demand for dedicated tank crewmen but at this present time new tanks or re textures are simply not needed as MBTs are not used during 90% of all ground operations.
     
    If, at some point, new MBTs were to be introduced into the repo then they would certainly need to be balanced and countered by a stronger Russian force and vice versa. But if nothing were to change with the current state of armored forces for either friendly or hostile forces on EU3 then it would be because no change is needed.
     
    I know im more on the side of highly strategical and organised infantry combat rather than all out armored warfare however mixing the two is possible as long as the friendly force on INF and MBTs are countered by equally strong and dangerous forces of Russians, as I have said.
     
    Either way, im almost always happy with the state of EU3 as, at the end of the day, its still a free server where we are promised a certain amount of discipline and decency for nothing but our cooperation.
     
    (The only thing I would change is constantly having more realistic features such as only 1st person and no cross hairs or map markers at all as I know that the harder you make it for one soldier to understand or adapt in a fight using these kind of features, the more likely they are to rely on each other and furthermore provoking teamwork and team play as well as many other benefits such as actually valuing comrades lives due to the benefits them being alive can have on you but thats a whole other large topic for another day   ).

    Very quick and simple, in your install folder for arma you will find a few different executeables, select arma3battleye.exe and pop this into additional parameters:

    Its a long shot but is there any possibility of (if I get the HAT slot) to able to carry a MAAW instead of the Javelin. Just due to the fact that it is tricky to use without the AGM compatibility it had. If not the MAAW (my preference) then a Titan? Im happy either way but I can do a lot more damage with that MAAW. I understand if its not an option.
