Since the OPFOR-factions are amazing it would be even more amazing if all of them would have the SAME whitelisting so you don´t have to make a sepreate loadout for each of them. Also it would just be fair for OPFOR since the whitelisting for BLUFOR is always the same no matter what exact BLUFOR-faction you are playing as. This would make playing as OPFOR most likely also more attractive to people.

You were wrong even assuming that you might be unbanned with that name. This is not a funny subject. It is not a joke. People have and will take offense to this.

This is a 30-day ban, however, I'm going to upgrade it to a permanent ban.

    A small topic about Mortars

This video of mine explains the following methods of zeroing in a mortar:
    Calculation Range table
    It also features:
Using map-grid for target acquisition Terrain Elevation Map tools (Mills, bearing, distance)
    Why you want this:
More precise control Low angle and High angle attack ETA to impact Precise Bearing and Elevation numbers Allows for blind firing So you're no longer an artillery computer scrub
    Download the Artillery Sheet here:

    The video explains it all:
Map techniques are interwoven with the methods.
    0:47 - 6:52 Artillery Sheet method (Map Grid + GPS + Contour Levels) 6:52 - 9:12 82mm Range table Method (Maptools)

    UPDATE 1-1-2016 Fire Mission Routine:

When operating in the some of the cramped environments like we tend to do at times, it's important to follow proper Fire Discipline to avoid friendly casualties when firing artillery shells. It takes time for shells to impact at the designated location so make sure you give friendlies enough time to retreat or prevent them from moving up when shells are danger close.

Here's an example fire mission that includes all the options (adjust, repeat):

    Update 23-12-2017 Mortar Trajectory Explained:

With this update I've included 4 plots that explain how the mortar trajectory works and how one should compensate the trajectory for uphill and downhill shooting.

First we look at the angle the mortar fires at. Increasing the elevation we can fire at things closer to us. If we lower the elevation we can get a bit more distance out of the mortar.

We now look at how the charge of the mortar affects its trajectory. A bigger charge allows us to reach out further when we keep the elevation constant. We can also use this to our advantage. For example, if there is a really big mountain in the way perhaps it's wise to select a bigger charge so you know you will clear the mountain.

Now lets look at the theory behind shooting a target above or below you. First we tackle a target above the mortar:

When we use the maptools we can get a range to the target of dx. However, since the target is above us we can see that if we were to dial in the mortar for that distance dx we would shoot the red trajectory and hit in front of the target. Therefore we need to adjust our elevation downwards so we can hit the target. The range table gives an adjustment in 100m height difference intervals. If there is only a 50-meter difference feel free to just divide the adjustment given by the range table in half or interpolate for other differences. However, a height difference of 10 to 20 meters relative to your own height shouldn't really cause any issues, and adjustment is considered optional.

Downhill shooting is very similar to uphill shooting. However, instead of lowering our elevation we increase our elevation as shown in the following diagram. The indicated numbers on the range table for adjusting the mortar work similarly, but instead we now adjust in the other direction.

Understanding the trajectory of your mortar shells is very important to minimize civilian/blufor casualties and to get pinpoint accuracy. That said, the further your target is away the larger the deviations will be, so don't expect pin-point accuracy on targets beyond 1.5km

I've enabled and disabled certain squads from the start. I'm not going to run sign-ups. Everyone is free to pick their own gear, I do request people slotting up in a decent manner.
    Maybe.

    Mission Name: OP Winter Blues

Brief Summary: Santa has delivered all his presents to the good boys and girls. However, a distress signal was sent out once he got back home. Apparently, he was followed by those who do not share the Christmass spirit and want to use his flying sleigh technology for their own good. We've tracked the distress signal to the island of Malden, perhaps this is where Santa lives and where his toy workshop is built.

We need to rescue Santa and all his elves, we then need to secure his workshop. The flying sleigh technology has been captured already, so all we can do for now it make sure it isn't turned against Santa. We've made contact with Russia who have a FOB nearby. Russia agrees on how dangerous such technology can be. They've loaned us three amphibious landing craft and three mobile AA guns, which we can position around Santa's workshop. RUSFOR themselves will not engage in any combat unless provoked, so do not bother them any more than we already do.

    Mission Objectives:
1a. Insert SpecOps via HALO parachute to clear out the harbor.
1b. The rest is to rendevouz at the RUSFOR FOB, they are waiting for us.
    2. Secure Le Port Harbor.
    3. Infiltrate Santa's workshop, rescue all hostages and secure the island.
    4. Await further orders.

This mission will use your own loadouts and regular Stiletto assets are available.

Version: Latest (bug discovered about 5 minutes before time of this post)
    Map: Stratis
    Bluefor: Russian EMR
    Opfor: ChDKZ Insurgents
Bug: Russian "RPG7 (Launcher)" Crate is actually maaws ammo...
Expected Behavior: "RPG7 (Launcher)" Crate from the logi spawn menu should contain RPG-7 Launcher
Actual Behavior: Looks like the standard MAAWS Ammo Box..
Steps to reproduce: Go to logi spawn point, "Spawn Crates" > "Launcher Ammo" > "RPG7 (Launcher)" > Receive box that contains western spai's.

FOB's are amazing when the full potential of Stilleto is used. The town scouting for intel and such is so much fun. I'd rather have a FOB down, do some scouting then head over to the mission instead of the 'insert-kill things-get out' kind of missions. Far too often people focus on the main mission so much when there is so much to do and explore. Stilleto is a great sandbox to approach missions in a variety of ways. FOB's are a great way to exploit everything Stilleto has to offer.

Let me just say that Training sessions are not just there so who ever is teaching can be like "oh i'm better than you" and to make all students feel like they don't know anything.

It is purely there so someone can revise something they may be a little rusty on or perhaps learn something they don't know.

It would be much appreciated if we got a nice turn out and would be a pleasure to bring everyone up to speed on topics for the MSO, the training will be especially useful when the MSO starts getting much more heated.

Perhaps we should use a workshop kind of structure, basically have 3 things running at the same time with people's expertise:
    e.g.
Mortar usage/Map reading (They go hand in hand and are easy to combine)
    Room Clearing/CQB
    Medical System

That way we cater to more people and the turnout may be larger, I'll happily build a scenario for it tonight tbh, if people want we can run it on coming Friday even, for perhaps an hour or 1 or 2 and then go to a massive AWE game.
