  1. Yeah we just decided to move to ACRE. These things can take time as you see.
  2. It'll be refreshing to hear from the leader of the most powerful nation on Earth and him not be a complete prat.
  3. May I recommend if possible, that the aircraft are given a much shorter respawn time if they crash in base and haven't left said base first? This would help because I've noticed a few times, newbie pilots or just people wanting to mess around, taking aircraft and crashing them in base before they have a chance of even leaving the base area and heading to battle. It could be made that if an aircraft is still within the zone area of the base and hasn't left said zone, the respawn timer would be short (incase of an accident) and when the aircraft leaves said zone, the timer is restored to default so if an aircraft dies in combat or upon landing, it is treated as a usual event and given its usual respawn timer. Not sure if this has already been suggested or not, just figured it may be a neat idea to stop pilots waiting an hour for an aircraft that never left the taxiway.
  4. Can confirm on the ejection seats. When I got hit and tried to bail out, the canopy got ejected but I was just stuck sat in the plane all the way down to the drink.
  5. It's quite funny actually because whoever wins the election, America has already lost. They've been made a joke on the world stage, they are basically on fucking fire due to the constant riots and protests. And this time, the 2020 icing on the cake, despite the fact that if Trump or Biden wins, there will be some juicy violence. Still, not like Britain's doing any better. My Prime Minister doesn't want to feed the children in my school anymore because they fucked the economy so guess that's more money out of my already dwindling wage for spending about 7-8 hours a day taking care of Special Educational Needs pupils.
  6. Side Mission Request: Destroy EMP Device: The enemy have deployed a highly sophisticated EMP device capable of disabling vehicles and other pieces of equipment. This must be found and destroyed before the enemy can move it to the frontlines. Vehicles in the mission zone will shut down and devices such as nightvision will fail. Not sure if something like this is possible? I was thinking in terms of vehicles, when they enter the zone, the vehicles run out of fuel or otherwise shut down and the weapon systems onboard cannot be used. Also not sure if nightvision can be made to not work when inside the mission zone. Again, an ambitious and fun sounding mission I thought, but outside of mods, I'm unsure of how practical this could be? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Sub Objective Request: Destroy Enemy Scrambler: The enemy have deployed a highly sophisticated Scrambler in the AO which is scrambling our Bluforce Trackers. This must be found and destroyed! Effectively for this, when it spawns, place a large and highly opaque black shape on the map in the sub objective area (size of your choice). This would effectively mean that the players would not be able to see targets that have been spotted in this area and would not be able to see the landscape of this area. I think that could be fun because it adds a level of mystery to some AO's. Where a Scrambler is active, players are left in the dark of if there is any friendlies, enemies or landscape features in that area until it is destroyed. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Let me know what you think. Again, the Side Mission may be a bit ambitious but the Sub Objective is something I see on quite a lot of I&A missions and I believe it could bring some interesting gameplay.
  7. I +1 Johnson's idea, I've seen custom loads for aircrafts but in vehicles it could be useful. Here's my feedback from yesterday: Bugs: I was not awarded for about 75% of what I did yesterday, same goes for the rest of the crew. Checking in on the scoreboard before we went off, between the crew we accounted for about 50+ infantry destroyed and ~20 vehicles destroyed. After pooling all of our reward points on me, we finished the night with 4500. In total, we collectively earned about 9000 points that entire night. I can confirm that when checking history, the vast majority of our kills were not recorded, with even entire AO's worth not showing up. To compare, last test it worked absolutely fine, with us collectively earning about 25,000 points the entire night. AI was spawning on top of our vehicle during one of the AO's. I believe they were Special Forces teams dispatched to deal with us, however on about 2 occasions, a squad spawned directly on top of the vehicle, killing the friendly infantry next to us. Not sure if we were parked on top of a spawn point or something though. Not sure if this is a bug or just something I was experiencing that night, but the A-164 Wipeout does not have a working camerapod and laser sight. I can fully understand if this was a choice made to try and mitigate pilots targetting things on their own, however I just didn't know about it so it seems like a bug that affects combat efficiency in the jet. I believe that's all, I also had a mission request that I may add into the other topic (though it may be too ambitious for ArmA). Overall, apart from the points issue that made my tank crew homeless, the mission was superb fun again.
  8. Looking forward to this. It has certainly been long awaited! Thanks for your continued work and support, we all appreciate it.
  9. Welcome, in this guide I will explain my thoughts and advice on what are the fundamentals of being a Squad Leader in SQUAD. Firstly, SQUAD is a team game. Teamwork and communication is key, and a team that does not adhere to these two basic principles, is not a good one. All teams need one thing to uphold this and maintain the balance; this is where the Squad Leader comes in. I will split this guide up into seperate chunks for easy reference and reading. These will be: i. Introduction ii. Earning the Stripes 1. Squad Leader Basics 2. The Squad Leader 3. R.O.P.E. 4. Rallies and Fobs 5. Infantry Tactics 6. Leadership I 7. Leadership II 8. Callouts i. 10. Mission was insanely fun, unironically the best AW mission I've played in the past few months. Again I'd recommend the options for some roles to be able to switch weapons. As a leader, I'd much prefer a M1 Garand over an M1 Thompson, just for the simple reason of wanting to be able to shoot an enemy more than 20 yards away! Other than that, fun mission and looking forward to the next one.

    Baker Static Line

Was a pleasure leading that squad. World War II combat and tactics are so refreshing to see on AhoyWorld and it's something I constantly love to study. Looking forward to the next mission immensely. >Inb4 we implement WW2 into AWEL
  12. Honestly, I wouldn't start your message by saying *Your callsign - to ....* In the heat of battle, if someone just hears command first on the radio, they might assume its someone calling for command. First call the elements that you are trying to call, then say who you are. That way it will immediately get their attention. I feel that's a better way to do it generally. So rather than "Command to all elements" just say "All elements, this is command" or start off with a respective unit name. Shit happens on comms and its something we're all constantly learning and getting better with, at least the op was for the most part a success.
  13. Welcome to AhoyWorld. Be sure to have a look around whilst you're here, there's something to suit everyone.
  14. I can certainly attest that ACRE should leave no room for controversy or concern. It is extremely user friendly, easy to understand and with little to go wrong. Infact, it is as simple as grabbing a radio, changing the channel to the appropriate channel, and voila. Unlike with TFAR, should something go wrong with your radio, you'll have to change frequency, and that can take more time then simply changing channel. Also I should note, that if you do what I did, you can change the keybindings of ACRE to the exact same keybindings as TFAR. This virtually makes the two mods seem exactly the same. In terms of the "backend" style of things. ACRE should have the exact same compatibility of TFAR, and setting it up should allow for automatic changing of channels respective of what squad you picked etc etc. One final thing to note, ACRE is much more indepth and detailed than TFAR. So please note that if you are in an urban setting with a simple infantry radio, there can be such a thing as bad reception and radios are noted to start failing when you are a few city blocks away from your team. This shouldn't be a problem of course, as splitting up more than 400-500m from your team is not really a valid tactic most of the time, but it is something worth noting. It is not a "problem with the mod", it is just a feature that is realistic compared to the real life radios. I'm behind this introduction, I feel ACRE has a lot more to give than TFAR whilst still retaining the same simple recipe, perhaps even a little more watered down for people to understand.
  15. Suppose I'll add to this with my PC RIG that I've had since like 2010/11 and has run like an absolute dream ever since. She's an ol' girl but has a heart of goddamn titanium gold. Case: Dell XPS case, not sure on the actual name. CPU: Intel Core I7-3770 @ 3.40ghz RAM: 12GB Ram, nothing fancy, factory standard GPU: Nvidia GTX 1060ti SSD 1 (OS): Kingston SSD A400 Solid State Drive (2.5 Inch SATA 3), 240 GB SSD 2 (V for Vidya): Samsung 860 EVO 1 TB SATA 2.5" Internal SSD Not sure on the other internals, it's literally all factory standard stuff and has never gone wrong. Only things that have ever broke are 2 cheap HDD's that I used to use before I discovered the beauty of SSD's, since switching to them, I've not had any issues. She just gets dusty and requires a bit of cleaning every odd couple of months so I don't start smelling burning. Peripherals: Old Monitor: LG TV, somewhere in the 30-40" area running at a measly 1366x768 resolution. Had that up until today where I got my upgrade. TV ran fine other than a quite weak resolution, still enough to kick ass on most the games I played. Now using the old TV as a side dish to my PS4. New Monitor: Gigabyte AORUS FI27Q 27 Inch IPS QHD (2560 x 1440) 165 Hz FreeSync/G-Sync Compatible Gaming Monitor Keyboard: Corsair K70 RGB MK.2 Mechanical Gaming Keyboard (Cherry MX Silent Switches: Linear and Quiet, Per Key Multi-Colour RGB Backlighting, Aluminium Chassis Mouse: Rii RM200 Wireless mouse with RGB Headset: HyperX Cloud II Gaming Headset PC/PS4/Mac/Mobile, Gunmetal Grey Desk Pad: TITANWOLF XXL RGB Gaming Mouse Pad - 800x300 mm - Mouse Mat - XXXL Extended Large LED Mousepad - 11 Multi colors and effect modes - Non-Slip Base - Wolf Design That's about it really. Up until recently; my monitor, my keyboard and my mouse were all quite cheap stuff, but they worked absolutely fine and were enough to meet my needs. The computer runs well, running most games I play on Ultra settings at at least 60fps. Normally on ArmA III, I can run it on ultra settings at about 100fps, only time I experience lag is when on certain multiplayer servers, but that is due to server FPS rather than my own, ArmA can be a pain like that. I'll leave some pictures, my bedroom got renovated just last week so this is all just a work in progress, I will eventually be running 2x monitors and will probably play around with the set up, I'll also have some picture frames set up so teh walls aren't so dull. Overall though, apart from getting a new gaming PC (which I'm on the fence about at the minute considering how well mine runs), my set up is about 70% complete. Excuse the picture quality, I don't understand the pro settings on my Huawei despite having a qualification in Professional Photography (I think I just cheesed the qualification in return for college parties)

    AWE Sniper Team

Oh god damn, we definitely need to do a Sniper Team at some point.
  18. Looking forward to this. Would adore to Platoon Lead!
  19. I recommend adding Grad Trenches. It is a small mod with a lot to offer. It will allow us to build more complex trenches that will benefit not just infantry, but also vehicles as they will be able to hull down anywhere. Additionally, it copies the texture of the ground so that trenches will look more uniform and not a complete eye sore. 20. Wouldn't mind reserving tank commander for this but it'll probably get nabbed before I can give it a go. Sounds fun!

    War on Drugs Begins

If we do any more of these pictures over the course of the campaign, I may actually edit them to include some blurred/blacked out faces and what not to make them look a bit more uniform.

Joint DEA, FEADS and CIA pose for a group photo in an undisclosed location on the Island of Tembelan during Operation Chingados.
  23. "Treat every armed person as if he wants to kill you." Oh boy, can't wait to dress up as a giant dove and go into the woods to shoot bird shooters. It'll be like Hitman. But no seriously, this looks pretty fun. May come along!
