They have just passed us some intel on the location of the P.A.V.N. forces main garrison, their staging point as well as their resupply point. We with the help of A.R.V.N. forces will be attacking all 3 positions in an early morning raid which if successful will deal a major blow to the enemy in this area. We must however complete all 3 tasks together or risk enough of the enemy escaping to allow them to reform. Our task will be to assault the enemies main barracks centred around the village of Long Duc and their supply port in Vung Tau. The A.R.V.N. will be assaulting Phu Vinh. The have the man power to complete the job but lack any real air assets. We will have to be available to aid them, by way of air power, in case of a counter attack or if they lose momentum. Friendly Forces: US 1st Air Cavalry Division Army of the Republic of Vietnam (A.R.V.N.) Assets: UH-1D Iroquois (Slick) X 4 UH-1C/M21 X 2 (Armed Huey) CH-47A Chinook X 2 A-7D Corsair II(CAS) X 2 A-1H Skyraider (CAS) X 2 AH-1G Cobra X 1 Various ground transport and support vehicles Enemy Forces: National Liberation Front (Việt Cộng) People's Army of Vietnam (P.A.V.N.) Civilians: Civilians are concentrated around towns and villages. Mission Insert by helo into the AO, assault both targets (attack order is at commanders discretion). Provide air support to A.R.V.N. if requested. Destroy the P.A.V.N.s Execution Objectives: Insert by helicopter Assault Long Duc, the P.A.V.N. assembly area, to disrupt the organisation of their forces Assault Vung Tau, the P.A.V.N. supply port, to cut off their source of resupply Capture any enemy documents which are available Extract once objectives are complete Movement Plan: At Commanders discretion Rules of Engagement: Armed personnel may be engaged on sight. Civilians are present in the area so collateral damage is to be kept to a minimum. Only buildings clearly being used for a military purpose may be engaged. Civilian life must be protected (Hearts and minds) Optional Tasks: Provide air assistance to the ARVN forces in the village of Phu Vinh when required/requested. Admin & Logistics Resupply: At the commander’s control, assets are available at base to facilitate this. Reinforcements: Unlimited At commanders discretion, transport assets are available. Command & Control Command: Overall command lays with codename "Overlord" who will set objectives and ROE. Operational control on the ground lies with the Platoon Commander. Communication: Radio channels are set for each element and can be viewed on the map in game. Platoon has limited discretion for change but structure is to be maintained. Good Morning Vietnam!!
  2. Welcome, glad you are enjoying it. Hope to see you game.

  4. Hey All, The EU2 Vietnam Friday missions will be taking a break until the 10th January 2020. This week I am snowed under in work, next week is Christmas and the week after I have an exam on the Saturday, so I really should spend the Friday studying. Following this break, we will return for the final mission of the Air Cavalry deployment and then we will move on to a more conventional infantry force, modelled after the 1st Infantry Division using armoured vehicles and such. This will allow us to do missions which didn't fit right with the Air cavalry ethos. As always, if you have any questions or suggestions send them to me. Looking forward to seeing you in January, hope everyone enjoys their Christmas now that you don't have to worry about the trees whispering for a while. Midnight

They appear to have attempted to hide their number for an unknown reason. Our incursion into their territory caused them to show their hand. Also, through Intel recovered by ground forces and by air reconnaissance we have determined the location of a P.A.V.N. strong point on the island of Bin Thoi. Normally we would use artillery and/or aircraft to assault the area before sending in ground forces. However, command back in Fort Hood want us to try and raid this position for any Intel on the composition and strength of enemy forces in the area. To that end the island is not to be blanketed with support fire. We are also aware that the P.A.V.N.have access to Strela anti air missiles which could be used to defend the island. Once the island is captured we are tasked with clearing out any P.A.V.N. we discover. Friendly Forces: US 1st Air Cavalry Division Army of the Republic of Vietnam (A.R.V.N.) Since its creation Kable has been been subjected to highly organised attacks. We suspect the enemy have a designated command and control element in the area with responsibility for assaulting Outpost Kable. 8. @Walk'N I've thought about doing a type of sign up thing, but generally life gets in the way and people have to drop out or are late. I don't want someone worrying if they are running late because they have signed up, at the end of the day its just a game and real life comes first. I know people being late did slow things down last week but unfortunately that is probably something we have to live with.
  9. Enhanced movement is great when it works but it tends to randomly stop working after an amount of time and the player is forced to relog to fix it. I personally love using enhanced movement for the reasons @PiNKMiST gave. If it can be implemented as an optional mod then I would agree with using it as it would not take away from the accessibility of EU1, but the big drawback is that the mod appears to be no longer supported by the developer and will likely have issues which will go unresolved.

  11. All the best Mark, thank you for everything.
  12. Welcome, hope you enjoy it here.
  13. Yea it is configured so mines don't show until discovered. Once discovered the location is shared with the squad. I'm thinking that the Unsung trap kit(Used by the squad engineer) has a larger range than expected and that's what caused it. I will test later and see.

  18. Hey all! So as some of you know already I am planning a lightly modded Vietnam campaign for the Friday night mission slot. To do this we will be using just 3 mods to make it as accessible as possible to the entire community. For anyone who currently plays on our EU2 Zeus ops has just 1 more mod to download. I'm looking at starting this on Friday 15th November, but will confirm closer to the date. The required mods are: CBA_A3: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=450814997&searchtext=cba Unsung Vietnam: https://steamcommunity.com/workshop/filedetails/?id=943001311 (Unsung is approx 10GB) TFAR_BETA: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=894678801&searchtext=task+force+radio For CBA and Unsung just hit subscribe and you're good to go once it downloads. TFAR has an extra step, LH5's TFAR Guide. Looking forward to seeing you there, if you have any questions or requests post them here. Midnight
