  1. I'm really tired. But I'm sure less angry than Ninja above me. Still, Topic name is incorrect, use of profanity words; it's just showing how much you actually care and how much effort you took in writing and responding to this rich topic. And how many members actually are helpful? A lot of them. Check all these helpful replies trying to explain where your thinking went wrong. I won't tolerate any kind of misbehaving or not playing by the rules. Suggestion is locking this topic. Don't embarrass yourself even more. Now, @Karate Pyjamas, I think we should hit shooting range. Be sure to bring at least six mags? And an AT4.
  2. @Miczils; + for effort of stepping forward to train new meat. It is far easier to make videos and just point how to use equipment, you don't have to explain every time somebody joins the server for the first time. I salute your effort because some of us play to that point of realistic type. Previous we tend to explain people while equipping for the mission; "on-the-fly" and "shadowing" so of sort. Be aware: Dedicated training for use of equipment is something far different from other training. In the end you need to integrate all other class of training. On the field, in combat it will take on a whole another level of preparation. One of examples are well known "back-blast clear" - where assets see the Destroyer of their Worlds (MBT), start to panic and don't call the shots. Stuff like that happens. And with proper training should be bypassed easily and all the time. Someone suggested taking Ahoy Servers for training sessions. I don't want to cut off other guys who want to play actual missions. Since I don't have PC nor a connection to host a server, when couple of guys showed interest in learning something how to use, or how to react or respond to certain moments, we would switch to team that hasn't being used when population of server was low. So people can populate first two squads. Or explain "on-the-fly" while "shadowing" because we are all fast learners. For equipment training - yes go for it. And also explain people why we don't use long range ballistics type of strategy for ROE on EU#3. Mother and Father of Rules. If we had proper camp for training, yes I'd love to drive around the camp with cabrio HMMWV and my Ray-Bans. Still if you train fresh meat. There's AC for you. .
  3. First time in writing these letters I actually don't know how to start it. I'm looking at this plain white paper and I'm starting to feel uncomfortable of how scary it is while it's empty, without words. You know the feeling when you haven't interact with something you've enjoyed for months. Suddenly you feel lost, cut-off from exploring. I'm finding calm in previous letters and how Community of Ahoy members have enjoyed it by engaging into direct conversations and expressing their observations, arguing, discussing and I thank them to that. Words are the fuel of this community. Recent change in management. @Raz has left. Now we need to repair AW wing. David has stepped out. And he is asking for our help. Rough ride like Raz said. But we will find that ride in greatness of success which Raz was reaching. With David, it has to be another awesome ride for Ahoy Community. Communication to David is the key. And I agree on that. And I'm sure we're all agreed on that. This forms community. Our Ahoy Community. He also suggested meetings to become more regularly. This way we can express ourselves verbally. I don't know David very well (except from ) but I'm sure he will try to do his best to keep gears running. He just asks for our support. Nobody can drive any community by himself. @Amantes brilliant observation and thinking: Community Meetup 27022016, 12:45; @David: On Community involvement; In which direction leader wants to go so we can push in his direction. I can't describe better than @Amantes on point. On changes overtime; what new players and members expect and what changes bring onto them. Nor any idea shall be shut off under my watch! I witnessed a couple times where members of EU#3 actually expressed their concerns or applaud about changes. Either way those concerns were listened by members and expressed on forums (yeah please use forums in that matter, don't have long chick-chats while we are on the mission). I encourage everyone to use forums for expressing their opinions and concerns. Every opinion will have its own conclusion with explanation for it. Second part of conversation (~44:00) was about timing in training and gamenights which continued on forum style and organization. Maybe the problem relies with the site. I'm not sure. People don't like to go on forums trying to find thread. Maybe a side-site can help it out with all future events which are sliding like food in sushi restaurant, or fixed ones which are “highlighted”¹. Which brings the question who will organize the timeline or make those sushi dishes? We love to eat it, but how many of us actually know how to make a good sushi? Suggestion: Primary gamenights with mission well described and thought have ribbons. Maybe that's the way we can attract more people to gamenights if population is concern. Then, on forums we can have drop down list with all ribbons near our name (with name of the gamenight as well as organizator name) which all can see. That way we give credit for members who played it and especially for hard work of members organizing it. I want to thank @Origins for recording this meetup. ¹ @Amantes observations on gamenights and training. EU#3 Temple For centuries people gather around to share their experiences. And I remember those great rides. EU#3 was my morning that became night. I sound like I'm worshipping these four symbols. Every time I've entered that temple I felt diversity of what I can accomplish, unlocking all my abilities to make great moments and memories. But now, I won't feel at home. I know I'll struggle at the re-beginning. Peace of mind won't come with my skills, It will come with people surrounding me; fighting for same cause. I know I'll have someone to lift me up when I fall. For all of us the new players, AW's EU#3 is the place where together, through effort we can accomplish everything. That is the feeling having a great supportive Community. Joke: No It's not group therapy. I'm sad I can't talk much on gameplays take. I still have to catch up and justify Ambassador title which I was entitled to. I want to give all the support for members of Ahoy Community, the support I've had when stood the ground thinking I'm alone. There were struggling times when people just don't visit EU#3 at all. I was really sad seeing people go playing something else or living their life. This weekend I'm surrounded by warmth seeing EU#3 TS channel all popped with players. Now, let's go for another ride, shall we? Plant.
  4. I don't know why but I'm excited to see new tech-toy on EU#3. Can't wait to try it for the first time.
  5. Ehm... two things. Needed space on my ssd (120gb) for uni project and I'm currently running integrated hd2500 graphics. Hurrrayy... I'm on a market for new notebook for uni. I can't have PC anymore. I have to go mobile. I'll be back but still don't know when. I'd rather watch stream than look for a suitable notebook. I'm looking forward for your stream. Much appreciated.
  6. Joke: Now all I'm seeing is @Minipily going around bodies with Desert Eagle to make sure they are actually dead. . Maybe because of our absence on EU#3, they've managed to get their hands on supplies and better armament? It's all about story and immersive plays. No wonder server greets you with "Play your role." Idea: If Takistaniis manage to smuggle a cargo trucks (undisclosed mission) they can have better equipment on the next AO.
  7. No arma3 capable PC. I hope @Lone or someone else will be able to stream. I'd be happy if I can watch.
  8. Modded EU#3 repo has addons you need to run on EU#3. Everything else doesn't have a key to run on EU#3. This way we all run same addons that are required by the server. Like @PERO has already said: EU#1/EU#2 = "allowed" addons only EU#3 = "modded" addons only Regarding subforum, title may be misleading, addons are not modded in any way. They are for Modded Server which is Ahoy's EU#3. Regading that m107MLGN0SC0P3 error, it was happening to all of us due to error in RHS coding I believe. Last update fixed it for me. And I'm not sure if it was depended on RHS. Can't recall actually when it was fixed. For clarification on your last post: "Allowed" addons won't work on EU#3. But when you compare both, some are the same: CBA_A3, st_stamina_bar,... If you want to stick on both EU#1/2 and EU#3 I'm suggesting since we have awesome tool Arma3Sync to organize with profiles or only with Modsets folders link for example On EU#3 we follow basic command chain doctrine. Be sure to understand all the rules and guidelines on AhoyWorldForums. If happens that you don't know how to operate certain weapon or equipment always make sure to ask during non-combat session in EU#3 and training officer if available will be assigned to you.
  9. Well @TheToxicPixels: For me, even not special mission, You keep the organization of normal mission flowing. That's the most important to me. I mean other missions are interesting, but the best fun for me were with yours normal EU#3 mission. Show up, take weapon and listen your orders on radio. That's all about for me right now. I don't need some special ops, combo-wombo-combo missions. I'm here to have fun. I salute all other hard working guys to make something different. For example : TheBlackCity gamenight mission was really something for me. It was a normal Chernarus map but with Zeus control. It gave us a different approach. Like I've said yeah they are interesting, but your plain shut up,take gun and go on that marker is very fun and enjoyable to me. -Regarding people not showing up? =PENTALTY. We need to monetize somehow. Take their Ahoy coinz... -If there is low interest, just cancel, players will like next-week Gamenight even more. -@Soziopath for ZEUS! HURAAAYYY! -Regarding 1st/3rd person = really? We are still discussing this on EU#3? I'll see myself out. *presses "return" for new row. If anything was written wrong and if you can't understand, bare with me. I've just driven 2hrs straight. First thing when arrived: Ahoy Forums. My brain is somewhere, maybe near PC.
  10. I'm very sorry I'm late for feedback. This is feedback for 1st Valiant Alpha Test on 13102015: Concerns: - Spawning of tasks. 1st one broke as we have all witnessed - fixed I presume by now... - Enemy FOB object. is it possible if random spawned to glitch throught other objects or bad deployment on the ground - More enemy maybe? This is great for lesser amount of players. If we were number greater than 20, will there even be more enemies? How does enemy ambient and AO spawn works regarding of number of players? -We haven't been able to test other missions. Can we fail the mission? That would be awesome. - Like I've said in previous feedbacks for Gauntlet. I'd like AA nests but not armored, Enemy AA nests with crews, Location undisclosed. Will force use of land vehicles more frequently. +++: mission related: + for chat not working + for gps thing not working: rely on the map only. @Chris: You've said to @Ryko that FOB is working right now... Do you mean F.O.B. truck? If yes somebody will become my next favourite person in this community. Valiant is awesome by what I've seen. Like you see there's nothing else to give feedback for, so: I'm suggesting we should roll more alpha tests so we know for sure if something is going to go wrong.
  11. I'm already non stop on Ahoy-servers... I was thinking about purchasing AAA game. Now when I think about this I'm better of buying life support unit. And finally, EU#3 will arise again muhahaha! Chris Frankenstein. Too much hype? No, there's never too much hype on AW! -We even celebrate Pilot Slot Open with hype on EU#1 Chris if this become to be an astonishing achievement, we should name F.O.B. after your name.
  12. @Ryko is already at tuning session for this mission. It was really something different and interesting. Not in EU#3 fashion but really unique... We need diversity like this and I liked it. Even my Tanky has been blown up first. Oh tanky
  13. I haven't even noticed that thingy, I swear! I needed to watch 3 times to see that Darter is between my cockpit and top side of the wing. I'd say we are sharing intimate air-space there. Now, Imagine it was pink or purple Buzzard... It would be majestically Fly-by then.
  14. Delete manually hlc_wp_saw bisign key and pbo, re-download it again. Probably bad download. Make sure you have installed and configured TFAR correctly in Arma3Sync.
  15. If you need any training with explosives or anti tank rocket stuff, look me up on EU#3 or pm me on Teamspeak. Be sure to fully understand the rules. I'll check it don't worry . @Duffyman, You haven't been on my class of grenades in a very long time...

    Ninjas!

This was a protest for barbies at Arsenal Box. I think it was EU#3 Fashion Week... Oh... Maybe better yet it's fashion everyday on EU#3 server. Best thing you can conduct is a rule all wearing same camo. I hope we can all achieve one day as a real team.
  17. I blame the person behind camera/pc. The protagonist.
  18. @PERO We have yet to try that. It changed while we tested something with @Christiansen. Previously we've voted for regular and it had 3rd person. I like playing some games in 3rd person. And it feels great. Regarding ARMA3 I feel this game should be only first person. 3rd person kills the gameplay for me. Staying in 1st person you learn about your distances around you, you start to be more cautious. I don't know how to describe it. Every corner is your death path. Me personally, I don't feel any discomfort playing in first person only. It gives me even more enjoyable experience which I've already get used to. The only problem my "alt" key is being pushed way too much. Watching corners feels more real to me. I can have 3rd person near Arsenal box to watch how beautifully I'll die in combat. We even have gestures system, we are not using them at all. Because we don't pay attention to other players at all. We just keep our heads down and await for something to happen so we can witness it. I feel we are are beginning to get soft in certain aspects.
  19. Amantes I support this, The problem is I'm always push to talk, and then unintentionally I press it when I laugh. It's just an instinct if I use any sound I press it. Well, eating is something else. Culture I guess.
  20. Arma3 is my first in ArmaWorld. I've bought the game and it always seemed difficult to control and I stayed away from Arma franchize. I entered the lobby and searched for lowest ping. EU#2 (Stratis back then) was the one. I joined. Fell in love with the game and community of players on EU#2. Everybody was helpful. We were like 10 players max on that island so I was really hooked with teamplay and wanted something on larger scale. I came from Planetside2 (my outfit, couldn't hide my tears when I left them because of Arma3) where we were commanding 40 troops in outfit at friday nights. I wanted more. Joined EU#1 and immidiately went off because of some cowboys and all TKs on that server. For half of a month I was on JSOC servers and really enjoyed the organisation they were having. Next thing I've done is register to AhoyWorld forums. Found out about EU#3. Saw the mods... After spending half of year on Skyrim and modding I've said to myself: "Nah I ain't modding anything anymore". Play the game and move on. But the flame inside me has burned my decision in dust and recalled all the immersive plays from Skyrim (Yes, I was blacksmith in Skyrim). I really enjoyed the run till now on AhoyWorld servers. Next paragraph: EU#3 Day One: The recruitment I've Installed the mods for EU#3, joined the server. I've never felt so lost. Heard in background: "We have new recruit here, .... your turn now H2K". He didn't want to explain me anything so CMD (I think it was @leo) approached me: "Welcome to AhoyWorld EU#3 server, have you read the rules" on which I responded: "I have read three times the ones on TS3 channel room while I was downloading mods". CMD replied: "Enought for me, suit up and we need to move, you have 10 seconds." Because I was so lost1x I've entered in arsenal and just picked a m16, without any optics, 3 default mags and one in the rifle. CMD dedicated Nicolai so I can stick to him and learn all the basics on the move. The map was Fallujah. We were moving in convoy with two MRAPs. I was so lost2x I didn't even know where I am, how to use compass, what am I doing here or anything. While middle in the streets of Fallujah I've just heard someone yelling with furious voice from MRAP: "Disembark now!" While we went off gunner on .50 cal has started shooting. Suddenly I haven't heard anything, just pitching sound in my ears. Was so disoriented. The light from flashing .50 cal went even bigger. I looked back and MRAP was in flames. Completely destroyed. After 30 sec standing in the corner behind palm tree, my ears have started picking up soundstage from environment again. I've picked up the name leo laying on the ground, not moving. Nicolai wasn't nowhere on sight. Medic (I think it was @ShadowKnight but maybe also one guy who isn't on EU#3 anymore) approached me and started yelling : "Plant1ng are you okay?". I could barely hear him so I instinctivly yelled on my mic that I'm okay just couldn't hear clearly. After that all went blurry. I heard in background with all the noise around me : "CMD is down we need instructions." Still unaware where I am I've decided to cross the street. Fell down the ground. Next thing, someone is dragging me. All I could see from that eliptical shape tunnel was probably the same palm tree in the corner where I was previously moving from. Heard familiar voice in background who asked me earlier if I was okay. Now he's speaking in more scarried and hurried voice I've ever hear: "Oh my God Plant1ng. You are so f*cked up. I don't know if you will make it. Hang on there pal." Next seconds the camera moved and I could see everything but frozen like a picture. Respawned at base. Disconnected from the server. I've realized that my mouth is still opened. Yes I vividly remember my first day on EU#3
  21. Pilot has jumped too... HAAHAHAHAHA. He couldn't resist Jump Hype. Thx for posting this. 26.00 that xfire should never happen again on EU#3. The placement of our tank was not according the regulations. In the name of tank crew, I'm sorry for that one.
  22. This is going offtopic. My last comment on any rules. Rule 8 states: Pilots must be authorized to use Jets/CAS: Pilots should not get into jets/helicopters unless told to by Command elements. With the priority being set to transport. This also includes Logi (Which is not a transport helicopter). With no more than 1 pilot team for every 8 ground troops. Co-Pilots are not allowed to fly on their own since they are co-pilots and should always fly with their corresponding pilot. Unless your pilot authorizes you otherwise or if he is wounded or KIA, you are not supposed to be in control of the aircraftI've marked the important ones. The rules are administrative document. Bending them introduces problems. Administrative documents and Law explaination documents should be followed. In addition to pilots: Pilots are not allowed to fly over the AO (this also counts on EU#1) Imagine you are playing real PVP. Even if the AO is cleared. You can't be exactly sure if everybody is completely dead. One RPG and whole EVAC point can go sideways. Ambient AI can spawn and you endanger whole mission. I'm more of liking to drive that 10km with extreme caution for my buddies inside transport vehicle and encounter Ambient AI (Experiencing the REAL Gauntlet) and have that kind of fun than rush on AO complete it, go RTB and then what? Try surviving that 10km ride, go on the AO. secure LZ point (Pilot joins the server). Se how glad you'll be seeing your friendly team thanking you for securing safe flight for them to the AO. If you want Recon team... that would be it.
  23. Just to put into perspective, when I slot for an engineer this is my kitbag loadout: 1x satchel, 1x toolkit, 1x wirecutter. I put one demo block inside my west and that is it. That way I can repair, cut fences, blow up radio or destroy UAV or Heli... enought for two AOs, probably yes. If creating designated loadouts for every team is difficult maybe we should have forum post with all weapons and how many of something to carry around. Like a cheat sheet for medic but for designated roles. I like idea of us carrying all the same uniform. I agree that ingame MARPAT looks awful, but maybe some guys like it. @Caboose was a guy who was enforcing having all the same uniform. And guess what, nobody complained. He was rather shocked the other day he was TLing and his team came to him and ask him which uniform he wants them to carry. So yeah, that is the spirit of EU#3 players. We want to play as a team. Was having also conversation with @Amantes about using Combat Life Saver and moving it with a team. Yeah that should work. We can also test it, if it donesn't work... well we just go back to our old SL+Medic stuff. Edit: @Amantes: Like you've said, riflemen shouldn't even carry backpacks. But that all depends on the mission and if we want to play a 4 AO on the fly, Logistics and such. Ladders are really buggy. First if you want to go over the wall, like if you are climbing the ladder on some of the buildings you are exposing whole body over the horizon. You need a second ladder for other side. Some buildings even don't have solid roof. it looks like they have but when you go on them you completely fall inside that non accessible building and eventually die. You really need to deploy them correctly. @DwayneBrooklyn -reply to mine 1.3; Don't get shot . I'm lucky one that scavenges ammo from fallen comrades. I hate them when they are all carry hk416 rounds and not m4s. -1.4 addon: one thing that a lot of MAT missile specialist are doing wrong. When MAT missile specialist fires a rocket, first thing to do is "kiss" the ground. You are becoming a primary target for any EV or EI inside AO. MAT SL should be in close proximity to you and inform you about next possible EV contact or EI in vicinity. MAT missile specialist is the only guy who shouldn't watch the fireworks. And yet everybody likes to play as a MAT. I still don't get it why. -1.5 Try throwing smoke on EV, Start sneaking to it. Try dropping smoke infront of enemy MMG gunner. Start going prone in front of him. See what happens. The part of throwing your backpack you understood completely wrong. Maybe in movie there's isn't a scene when they pick their gear up again. You won't go into CQC fight with 100lbs on your back. You will dispose your equipment in safe place. Finish CQC and come back for your equipment. Since running and resting still doesn't work like a real thing you can actually carry 60 kg on you of equipment and preform just short breaks here and there without actually endangering any of your mission or your team. Finishing the mission successfully without any casualties is the most important part. Because of hot chick on your avatar I do accept the apology of writting my name wrong. Offtopic I'd like to keep an order because sometimes as I've said new fresh players join for the first time when no moderators or admins or field ambassadors are online. I'm ashamed if they see Cowboys riding Heavy machinery or flying around base and fooling around. I as community member should support and help new players and guide them as I was guided when I've joined for the first time. On EU#3 you don't play just for yourself, you play for the team. If new players see they can do what others are doing, they will do exactly the same. If a player wants to drive a tank or fly a helicopter or preform stunts without breaking the rules, There's always editor with the same maps we are playing on so player can test his abilities. If a player has any questions regarding anything, there will always be a player who can show him around and how to interact with equipment and sorroundings.
  24. Interesting concept you are putting there @MessedUpSmiley. I'm not sure how it went on previous TvT from ppl comments I guess you had a blast doing that.
