  1. Thinking, - Moving as one group. We still have problems having a good readout of terrain, we will be nicer target for enemy to engage with vehicle and eliminating whole squad. - Moving with strong cohesion is practically impossible sometimes. We'll need good SL all the time on the server. - Having to segregate team every time we go to AO for flanking maneuvers. Doing it on the fly is awesome, as well as SL determination and given decisions. They need to be followed to the letter. - No more tactical approach for AO. WW2 era. - We are fighting most of the time small groups since lower player-base over week. Giving high amount of players making up a firing line can introduce a boring shooting range at pinned enemy. It will actually look like this: You can get instantly eliminated or pinned by enemy or you can instantly get advantage and overhelm the AO as "Zerging" squad. Player's depression will become more evident (playing for 2 hrs and not killing anything, happy triggers may occur). - Scattering around and overpopulating radio communications. Everybody will have to report something. Yes, we still have problems with radio discipline. At least if A1 and A2 present players will preform it locally. - When you as a squad of 10 focus on one target. While focused there's actually a "gaming term" (gaming experts help me with this one) (edit. Miksi Tunnel vision)which lowers your situational awareness. All 10 players focus on one thing because we are eager to kill first whatever is moving. We should not forget some players are not role-playing but looking this game as competitive mode. - Poor 8 men squad behind our scopes, poor them. May Red light horizontal rain from two autoriflemen lights their path where darkness shall be upon them. - Breaking the dynamic of game and less problems. Yes it sounds like less problems is awesome thing. And in real life it is, but not in this situation. The game will become more monotone, easier to complete, maybe less loses. It will remove some of problems which we actually want to create to make the game-play more interesting. - Engaging enemy armor while he faces us all from front. Who will be that one guy who will actually run to sides to flank the tank? Yes we can argue about HAT/MAT. What if not present? - ?Ambient AI spawns on linear locations? Ambient AI spawns near players. - One Mastermind (SL) instead of 2 minds (TL) + -2 players having possibility picking 7.62 setups. I know it is introduced to encourage for players picking TL slots. Still, it doesn't happen. + Introduction of enemy mortar teams is necessity. It is actually a MUST. Still, I'd say give it a go and test for a week (Mo-Sun). Also test when there is higher player-base on Friday and Saturday as well as hosting one normal Gauntlet Gamenight. Just to see how it will work. I haven't seen it so I'd like to know for myself. I know it will come on your mind to host just one Gamenight with that formation. No, It should be tested for whole week since on Gamenights we tend to be more "Game-Faced On" and more casual over week. The results will be even more promising if done without notifying players over forums giving them not a single clue. Not telling players why sudden change. Just to see real reaction of players. Then the forum posts will actually answer the question by itself giving true result. Now we know what to expect and players can accommodate. Will it be in long run, that is the question. Considering, ?Moving Marksman as part of SL assets and no longer as TL asset. Also rule populating first SL slot before marksman. Medic same rule apply as of now. This will actually break dynamic play which we don't want to happen. But, maybe encourage of picking SL position and more cohesion to move as unit. A lot of players still don't know the difference between marksman and sniper. As of my understanding A2 is breaching team while A1 is suppression team if players start to argue for their need to be in nested position. If only becuase of markers, I don't like ShakTac HUD. IMO players will learn to have far better reading on terrain, environment and most importantly situational awareness. The learning curve is long but, results are astonishing. I don't like having map markers. Showing me on a map doesn't help me in learning terrain and when one SL asks another what is his position. I'd die for a moment where you actually have to say: "ASL is 400meters West from Feres" over radio. It helps only if somebody decides to go lone wanderer play-style.
  2. I don't find any of problems picking between weapons. It really doesn't matter as long it is 5.56. I just prefer RHS because of that incredible sound it delivers when fired. MK18 was the light for me from SMA. I don't use SMA anymore since MK18 is part of RHS. After some hours spent on the server no one should have problem picking his favorite weapon.
  3. Gauntlet045C Map: Altis Wind sock is floating in mid air.
  4. I haven't seen where @Lad died but this cleared it out. Yeah @Scruffman you should check through your scope who is there but @Lad was everywhere. I was thinking he was still on NE side where you first engage him about 150-200 m from us.Part when he yelled on radio. Obviously he went from NE to S up hill where we came from in the first place. Always identify targets, Also tell to your buddies before engaging so if you go down, they know where they need to reposition themselves. Funny thing you failed to engage that co-driver of Ural but managed to kill BluFor with only one burst. Wow. Mistakes will happen. That's why we can use forums and discuss events like this one where it went wrong. Hope that Amantes Training Nights sessions will clear a bunch stuff for you. Don't be afraid to ask anything. We are afraid of no questions at all.
  5. Didn't medic dc-ed later? Last time I saw ASL he was about 200m on our right on the open. A2 autorifleman first time opened fire on him then he told him to hold fire. After that about for short period of time he got TKed and dc-ed. I was last in line to get TKed with a spectacular Javelin missile. TKs occured all about five to ten minutes from each other.
  6. They should come to you if they are wounded. As a medic you should never be in crossfire or even on line of fire. They need to either carry wounded to you if he's unresponsive or pop a smoke around and cover your approach. From incidents like this we can learn. We in A2 were pinned down by the shack from enemy BMP on our left. We were wounded but we were patching ourselves up. @Miksi perfectly knew that he can't actually call for a medic where we were at given point. That shack saved our lives.
  7. Mission: Chernarus Type: Gauntlet044 AO: 1: Tank platoon AO 2: Kill enemy Commander Topic also related to this topic This topic will be my summary and opinion and is completely open for discussion about two operations in yesterday's events for two AOs since they are linked and same problem was created but, without TKs in later one. I want to know more about how teams and squads have approached AO to have better picture what happened so in future AO we can avoid them. It was based on bad placement and advance. MMG and HAT shouldn't advance with Alpha at all. They are to stay up the hill and protect. If you want to have fun join normal squads Alpha and Bravo. Being in special teams you'll have special treatment. HAT is pretty much useless inside forest while MMG is to suppress if Alpha is pinned down. I can't tell anything else regarding special teams. I wasn't part of their squad. ASL went too deep. I saw him alone in the middle of forest on my right side (A2). He got killed by A2 autorifleman. Enemy was too close to him is poor explanation. I know it was in line of fire, but you are not needed to shoot at everything you see because in most of times it isn't a treat to you. There were some good calls from A1 like: Everything what is down the hill on NE is enemy. It's a decent information. We have communications, It's not for chit-chat as it's for this situations. If your BluFor doesn't see threat, inform him over radio comms. It's not like CQB style of warfare. It wasn't even part of another squad elements so you don't need to go over two radio channels to deliver radio message. I remember the debate we had about one year ago. About splitting fire teams. It came to realization why veterans wanted one united squad and no approach from two different angles. This came to effect now and especially on operation later finding and killing enemy Commander. It's SL's choice if he wants to split as we are to follow chain of command. In operation; A1 got wiped, A2 great casualties. @Bankir and @Amantes from A2 were KIA at retreat while finishing the mission for us. 1. Good briefing for leaders so they know what are actions of other squads and where they will be positioned. 2. Map awareness. You have TL and SL positions on the map. Team elements should be near his TL. 3. Communication. Use it only if necessary. It's not for reading novels, essays. You can read good Haiku tho'. I don't know how TK can actually happen after this. GTG to lectures... wooooshhh. *papers in air

  9. @Ryko: My fault: I've managed to broke ACRE again with Arsenal two days ago: Can't give you loadout since I've deleted it. Radio343 was saved inside vanilla vest then loaded out. I've never done it before. 1.Info on Gauntlet044: 1.1. Fallujah044/ review need also on other missions - Engineer slot - disable shotgun explosive rounds. 1.2 Fallujah044 / assistant autorifleman A1 with HK417 16IN. Reece 1.3. Fallujah044, Stratis044A2 / Mission: 4 hostages; Medical facility point not clear. We put hostages inside medical tent mission won't complete. I know you've changed from medical helipad inside medical tent, still not working. At first when it was on medical helipad it was working fine. just on weird location. 1.4. Sarahni: No MK10 LCU 1.5. BAF uniforms blacklisted in arsenal until when they fix them. 2.Suggestions 2.1. Supply depot with AT Launchers (current launcher crate: 2xHEDP, 2xHEAT, 1xNLAW BI; 1x Stinger, 1x Stinger missile, 3x kitbag) 2.1.1. launcher crate consists of: 5x m136 HEAT pcs, 5x m136 HEDP pcs , 5x M136 (CUP) pcs 2.1.2. separate AT (name AT:launcher crate) AA (name: AA launcher crate). AA launcher crate consisting of: 1x Stinger (variant with actual name Stinger) with 3x additional Stingers inside box (Stinger launcher will spawn without missile in it. There are 2 variants of missiles. Need to check which one is going with actual Stinger named one. Not sure how to check it. One cannot load into second launcher and vice versa. 2.2: Supply drop with airplane. - This is here just for logs. 2.3.Consider adding different vehicles to certain missions. For example I see pilots liking CAS littlebird on Altis which they don't have. I'm not a pilot, just observing what pilots want on mission. 2.4.Altis044: deliver medical truck - please don't remove bigger enemy number scaling for this one like you have mentioning something earlier, We all agreed last Altis was awesome when we had to fight tanks and infantry everywhere. 2.5. More enemy helicopters with certain missions. - we rarely have enemy AO. @Nicolai is doing awesome job but I can't task Nicolai all the time. - Maybe timer (I know you hate timers) with occasional and probable enemy CAS spawn on OpFor side. Let us work out our way to the AO. Something is bugging me like I've forgot when we last talk @Ryko. I can't wait for future development of Rukavica. Awesome time we had there. When you continue to develop it tell me so I can provide more input about last experience. Takistan Mountains is a bad map but also awesome concept like Rukavica. The map is just bad in general - layout, terrain.
  10. Currently, some of us on EU#3 have unwritten rule to carry 8 magazines of 5.56 vanilla ammo. We barely even spend 6 magazines which is normal standard of US soldiers. I have never been in situation of spending all my ammunition reserve. Even If I'm in low ammo count, on that 2 magazine reserve, there will always be your BluFor buddy around who will die before you. That's why we are suggesting of using vanilla 5.56. They work on every weapon mod pack catridge. You can always ask your living buddy to pass you a mag. They will be happy to oblige every time. Sharing is caring. If you manage to spend on one AO every magazine and you are about to switch to OpFor weapon, you have a really bad fire discipline or you should work on your aiming since we are engaging targets less than 500 meters. 5.56 can easily kill targets above 600 meters respectfully of altitude and wind strength/direction. I always carry 3 tracer mags just for that purpose. Engaging difficult targets above 500. Even then, I'm doing it wrong. I need to push forward using cover as best as I can. When AO is finished and you are about to RTB with helicopter transport or sometimes with some of the vehicles, you will find inside 30x 5.56 magazines and 15x 5.56 tracer magazines. All vanilla ones. Everybody can use them. You can go on next AO without even think about RTB for resupply. Problems we are still facing are marksmen, AT launchers and autoriflemen if they are using squatoon special or other LMG that can't load ammo from vehicles which spawns with them. M249 resolves that issue if selected by player. I admit, I was also using 7.62 HK417 12inch now called Assaultier when I was rifleman. I don't know how you can play with that much recoil. One more disadvantage is also weight of the round. You will even carry more weight with that round. With 5.56 you are more agile. There are so many advantages of using 5.56 weapon system. Switching back to original subject. We had Al-Rayak map with OpFor arsenal. Everybody was hyped. Later, players started whining about AKs because they couldn't kill a single duck. Scopes are bad and iron sight is the best you can get. Still with it you will need to engage 500m targets at top. Just don't lie to me that you have spent all your 5.56 ammo just to pick up more powerful 7.62 system from the ground. I don't want to see anybody on EU#3 picking up opposite side weapons from the ground. I can allow RPGs only for reason that when we go to the AO we spent most of our AT stuff on ambient AI spawning around us. Don't think that I have something against AKs and that I have some radical mentality when I see a guy with it. Keep in mind that some countries were defended with that weapon. It's one of the best weapon system in the world in every aspect. Add in favor small price on market. Hope I gave constructive feedback as this is how I see these two systems colliding with each other, their advantages and disadvantages.
  11. Great summary @PER0. PTT is the only way to have communication discipline. And there shouldn't be any exceptions. If Arma 3 as Zak told has numerous keys for all kind of in-game options, there shouldn't be a problem finding one more for communications. I'm using whole numpad key section just for radios. That way I don't have to press multiple keys for alt.radios low/raised comms etc. I don't know if anyone anymore uses ball sensor mice. There should be middle click which you can use for communication on the mouse. Forward/backward buttons?
  12. Ryko I think you have misunderstood me. I've meant remove preloaded which you created and only import empty uniforms so we don't appear naked. And only loading with that stuttering might be fixed IMO. Well if you need to fire, whoever plays engineer or if we get along together we can go by vehicle and supply the vehicle. Like it should be in real-life. If you have mission then you supply vehicle with ammo. Disable respawn timers for vehicles. Disable vote admin. so basically it's impossible to restart the mission . Whoever has persistence to finish the AO goes to wall of famous on forum thread with ribbons (which we create for type of mission and where mission took place). That way you have some kind of achievement . I'm just shooting the ideas.
  13. I don't always play commanding elements, but when I do, I make sure we have fire discipline
  14. Welcome. If you have any questions about EU#3 which you've visited yesterday. Ask me or anyone from veterans. If you need some kind of light training I can show you through equipment. If you want to learn tactics, shadow one of veteran players. Don't ask questions while we are at AO. Good luck and good plays!
  15. @Ryko : You've created loadouts on the beginning. And it's awesome for gamenight since we don't need arsenal box. Well. BAF uniforms and collisions is another story. But what if you give us only uniforms in non gamenights? I mean people always go to arsenal to change their loadouts.(it's the same waiting time). Will it be any of significant loading improvement client-side? What about server-side? What will happen if you just remove the arsenal at all? QST: Is it possible to remove everything from vehicles? I mean also unload ammo from turret guns? Sometimes fire discipline is problem on EU#3. Suggestio: Please consider removing timers on vehicle respawn. What we have, we have/had. If we destroy everything we are switching to foot transport.
  16. Guys if we started to take only 6 magazines to AO as we should've, then you can pick AK47 (please don't do that, some guys are engaging from 800+ so they will mistake you by an enemy since you will be shown on the map*) from the ground of enemies and try do your best to survive. Eventually you will die at AO. At least you will: 1. I've done everything in my power to stay alive/ or to save my friends 2. I will learn to preserve ammunition. Playing as Russian or OPFor is much more tempted since you most of the time use ironsights. Recoil is awesome. Like It has already been said we had Al Rayak as OPFor and there was only small amount of people which enjoyed playing as one. You can count them on one hand only. Oh, you can forget doing any kind of convoy, Javelins fly everywhere.. There's no vehicle which will survive that. In 3rd person you can hear wooosh sound when Javelin fires and in next seconds you are roasted. If you play in macho person your screen will just freeze and you will respawn not knowing what happened at all. But yeah playing as Russian is fun. Only minus there's no vodka and Al Rayak doesn't have snowy mountains or tundra like terrains.
  17. @David would there be separate EU#1/2 and EU#3 or we are all in same roster?
  18. Shame gamenight didn't go as planned. I was looking forward so much and the tension was real inside A2 MRAP. My buddies and myself were all on alert when we'll see that smoke trace behind rpg or even yellow tracer coming towards us. I was having a feeling A2 vehicle was the first one but apparently we went wrong way and eventually got lost. This reminded me I can play on EU#3 without all the help we get from equipment. Now I just need to find the best weapon which can use ironsights not like M enclosed variants. Map set, go! I'm just worried nobody informed Kennychr that BAF uniforms are causing people to get ragdolled all around. I mean we all knew on the server this was happening and nobody informed him. +time preparation. I'm happy Kennychr tried to bring us back to stoneage. Now we know how lucky we are having all the equipment on our disposal. And we whine about AI shooting you through trees, shooting you from long distances with ironsights or having godlike health.
  19. @Chuck I believe before there were penalties if you signed up and don't show up.
  20. Like I've said on my screen I've glitched since door opened on my side and I went through it. I haven't even seen Russian guy so can't comment on that. So we have learned we don't need AI and Russians to eliminate us. There will always be somebody who will got you' back. Now, I can totally imagine in my head scene of you spraying the whole room with bullets.
  21. Will it be on livecoding.tv, youtu.be or just twitch.tv? Since I can't play I'll make sure I'd be there for episode of coding.
  22. The problem is throwing grenade in base. So it's an accident. In a long time I haven't seen anybody throwing something inside base. The problem is only misfire which members at 1st page of this thread already answered correctly. Shacktac's style nade is different. Imagine how complex it would be to deal on battlefield and under pressure. I don't have time switching between modes to throw grenade. It just needs to be precise. I don't like Shacktac's trajectory help. Not realistic I don't like when players who are first breaching also: 1. opening doors 2. throwing nades 3. going first for room clearing. OFFTOPIC: It should be always person behind on clear without obstacles throwing that grenade in room breaching. There was a problem with @KaratePyjamas and myself when we were "house cleaning" (@KaratePyjamas forgot to bring sweep mop for ceramic tiles) . First I threw a grenade through opened door of base floor room. First room was cleared. Then we heard russian (we knew he wasn't civilian, he was talking something about our mommas) speaking in second room with closed door. Now, reminder you also have to picture for yourself where exactly that sound originates from. You can almost pinpoint location where is threat coming from. The problem was actually in opening door and @KaratePyjamas was behind me about 2-3 meters in first room looking on the door with gun raised. I've opened the door and glitched through door. @KaratePyjamas saw a threat in front of me and started shooting team killing me in process. I don't blame him since if he didn't first shoot me, he would be probably dead too. We took one casualty instead of two. I've learned : keep clear of door opening and always think on which side the door will actually open.
  23. The mission went perfectly for me. We are missing that spawn option from PTC-1 where you can choose where you spawn from new base or aircraft carrier. But those are only additional features like arsenal, vehicles spawn at captured base etc. I haven't seen any kind of problem with mechanics whatsoever. If starting equipment is fixed, we actually don't need arsenal at all. Ryko is on a right path in Gauntlet043 with first spawn equipment.
  24. Nutek, be reasonable. Gauntlet is still in development process (thus Gauntlet not reaching whole number 1). Check out my post for Gauntlet Fallujah 042F which if the latest iteration of Gauntlet atm. I wish you good gamenight.
