Not the owner indeed,
still a pitty it takes over 2 (!) years and a word from me to get out this group as whatever function you call it. Your response on this forum is the opposite to that of me letting me sit in the steamgroup so long... 9 minutes vs more than 2 year, impressive...for all the wrong reasons.

So,
Its been quite a time since ive left. And still, after all the time, nobody contacted me about the steamgroup of over 1300 members.
Finally i made the step to Lindi to ask him about the who and what to do, since his advise is to hand it over to Ryko, but dear Ryko is not in the group,...so its not possible to make him the owner.
Since i feel no responsibility for the steamgroup of this community anymore im at the point of promoting someone random or get rid of it in any other way.
It is the account i have retrieved from Baconmop at the time. This costed me alot of time and something else, so it is a pitty to dump this group, on the other hand, if no one values this group anymore i dont see it having a future. But its up to you, so tell me (not on this platform) what to do, asap please. Im in TS this evening for about a hour.

@LEO was there anything you noticed to believe ahoy isnt alive anymore?
I remember something from a few years ago, people stating ahoy was "sinking" and they left "the ship". Those people made a new community that didnt last for a year, lol!

If the uniforms are a reason to not play enhanced, you'd be better off without them (those people who want to dress fancy) i think, i mean...really, uniforms? Never expected the arma playerbase to have that amount of feminin feelings.
PS: G...is for gear?

Good guide tho i think practise on server (once grasped basic controls) gives you a routine and a more intense feeling in comparison with reading. Spend hour and hours flying in arma and perhaps other games will make sure you get the feeling.
Addition to high level flight how i sometimes use it:
Gain altitude till 50 to 75% of the route (considering medium to long travel distance) and use this altitude for the last part to gain higher speed on the last part of travel.
BTW: did you know the Fokker company once tried to make a special plane to land in marshes and wet ground without need for a runway?
They called it the Modder Fokker (Modder is dutch for mud).

At first Scar, stop quoting sections of my text instead of commenting on the whole part. Disecting part by part is what trolls, autists and kids do. Just respond on the whole text instead of (possibly) scrapping the nuance by looking at what i said word by word.
There is a rule that probably covers this situation in your favour as i see it:
"We expect everyone to maintain this environment and will take action against those who jeopardise that community spirit. Admins reserve the right to warn/kick/ban users whose behaviour is deemed disruptive or aggressive and not conducive to a place of tolerance/friendship/comradery. Whether the behaviour is disruptive or not will be determined on a case-by-case basis on the judgment of the admin/admins present."

Performance is optimal now, the server has been on bootcamp and is tip-top condition. Were using a RBMK reactor now... I never had performance issues, its always been on the mental side for me.

Yeah, its alot of money, the private guide is what it makes so expensive, but theres a few thing i want to do/see that does not include in normal tours. I would like to stand on masha (the roof next to the reactor) and see inside the dome. Im even trying te get close to the elephants foot.
Would like to have a chat with you on teamspeak, might do it when ur back so i can learn from your experiences. In advance: have a good trip, i hope youll learn alot and remember the sacrifice those people made, especially the liquidators and firefighters.

Im keeping it short for now and will provide additional information later. Im looking for somebody to travel with me (from schiphol-amsterdam) to Kiev, Ukraine as im planning to visit chernobyl/prypjat. I have no date set yet, but it will be in february/march or maybe beginning of april. You can join me on my visit into the redzone or stay in kiev and have a look around there. Im going in with a personal guide, if you decide to join we will be with the 2 of us. Price (ticket/hotel/transport) will be around 300 euro but i can help out a bit if needed. The guide (english speaking) itself costs around 1000 euro for 2 days, payd by me. The trip will last 4 days and ill spend 1 night in the redzone (you can sleep in kiev if you want). This offer is not exclusive for ahoy, im asking on other places (travel-sites) aswell as i expect nobody here will have the -whatever- to join me (prove me wrong)!

- field camp of the 25th brigade of radiation, chemical and bacteriological protection;
- the Zone checkpoint "Dytyatki";
- abandoned village of Zalissja;
- bypass road to the NPP around the town of Chernobyl, built during the first month after the accident;
- eliminated village of Kopachi;
- decontaminated Red Forest, located on the trace of the worst, first release of the radiation directly after the explosion;
- town of Pripyat, which had population of 50 thousand before the evacuation:
the building of fire station, which crews arrived the second to extinguish fire at the NPP on the night of explosion on April 26, 1986
building of the townhouse - the first headquarters for mitigation of the accident's consequences
hotel "Polissya" which was an observation point for correcting helicopter operations over the ruin of the 4th reactor
a hospital, which accommodated the firemen and NPP workers, badly affected by the accident
- Chernobyl NPP:
the Sarcophagus and New Safe Confinement ("Arch”) – observation lot
fire station at the NPP; its crews arrived the first to extinguish fire at the NPP after explosion
memorial park and monument near the administrative building, where used to be an enormous parking lot in 1986
feeding giant catfish in the NPP cooling pond (depending on the season)
- town of Chernobyl:
helicopter pad
place of a former parking lot for armored vehicles of radiation reconnaissance
exhibition of vehicles which participated in mitigation of the accident
fire station of Chernobyl-town: its crews arrived the third to extinguish fire at the NPP after the explosion

Day 2:

You are totally right: it is chaos. Everybody is indeed running around like chickens, but let me tell you this:
- You want organisation to the max with command present every day? This will cost money, do you want to pay the salaries for the already busy staff so they can monitor 24/7 if everbody walks in line/wedge/column with enough spacing?
- Other option we leave it like this, one of the best populated servers in the game. Free for everybody, we pay the servers and fix issues and let everybody play how they like, and for some, who do want organisation, we have gamenights on EU3, and yes, that one is free aswell.
What a waste of time to having explain this, welcome in the gaming world
were i would suggest you go play tetris: no chaos. -

I will be answering only this question, but before i give my answer: everybody contributes on his/her way and as long as its positive, how small the contribution is, is worth a prize. Ive seen Ahoyworld change dramaticly this year and dont know all new members and who left and so on, dosnt even matter.
The best moment of Ahoyworld for me, by far, is the game evening we held for @xOderusUrungusX who passed away too soon. It was the absolute highlight in my very short career as Ahoy frontman and will never forget the cohesivness from current and past ahoy members on the server that evening.

Well, thanks for mentioning and not forgetting about me. I did more or less a silent quitting. I also stopped completely with gaming.
I dont regret being a part of this community and sort of happy i saved it from completely disappearing completely, it was really close of being gone completely and was in a really bad shape back then.
Im married now, have 2 kids young kids, retired from work on my 40th. Spending time on/with my family and new hobbies like travelling, skydiving and racing. Voulunteer firefighter, got CLS training in the MARCH and PAWS protocol and got certified for it, currently busy with many small projects but mostly spending time with my wonderfull wife and kids... really happy now.
The only person im still in contact with is Mark T.
Wish you all the best here and ... dont forget to take a walk now and then... some pullups can do good aswell.
