Some operations require subtlety and finesse and boy do we have a mission for you that is just that. The ID-card found at the medical station belonged to an officer working at an advanced weapons lab, codenamed Xhiao. The officer was sent to the medical station due to an unknown ailment but died shortly after arrival. With data from the ID-card we’ve tracked the location of this weapons lab to a building in the middle of Georgetown.

War is not pretty and makes us sometimes do terrible things. Sniper teams spotted several CSAT survivors escape from our ambush and be escorted out by helicopter. We do not know for certain if they got a good view of what ambushed them, but we cannot take any risk with the amount of heat we just caused so close to our main base. We must prevent these survivors from telling what they saw. These survivors have been brought to a medical camp on the southern island. We must find this camp and eliminate anyone inside. We will combine this operation with securing additional bivouacs.

With the main island bivouacs secured we can now start sending out teams to gather intel and recon points of interest around the main island. We will also need to retrieve the necessary equipment to repair Listening Post Leicester. We will likely find materials on Comms Alpha and Bravo. However, they are too hot of a target to raid at this point.  What we can do is ambush one of the convoys that’s headed towards the two bases once a week. Interrogating our Syndikat prisoners has revealed they have raided these convoys before and can guarantee that the equipment we need will be there. We can use this opportunity as well to perform recon on these locations and install necessary observation equipment.

The Syndikat raids have made the convoy reconsider their security and we can expect the vehicles to be well defended. We know the route, all we must do is pick an ambush point, set traps and attack. Make sure to check each vehicle for valuable gear that we may be able to retrieve. For this reason it may be best to try and disable the convoy vehicles rather than blow them up completely.

Good work on securing camps along the main island! You left no survivors. HIMF & CSAT have chalked up their losses to Syndikat raids. While we were setting up at Bivouac London one of the teams has secured Nottingham. On the way there they noticed a presence of HIMF and CSAT forces inside Lakatoro interrogating local civilians. It’s best we stay clear of that area.

Thanks to the capture of one Syndikat member we have gathered intel on several locations on the main island and southern islands. A few Syndikat smuggling piers have been marked as well as two stash locations where they store stolen goods. Especially the plantation south of London is of note as they’ve reportedly stolen several CSAT vehicles and stored them there.

There are three more objectives remaining on the main island for us to secure. We will complete this part of the operation by taking these positions. Additionally, we will need to receive the last of our supply crates before Carrier Group Severn is out of flight range. Wyvern is ready to drop the cargo once you are in position.

Again, I've got some great ideas and Johnson too but I'm not really interesting in taking the time to throw them in if I feel they may get swept under the rug. The above additions to FSG would be greatly appreciated right now though, give the infantry a bit more of a chance.

Any ideas you have you are welcome you put in here! :D Frontline is improved with any feedback provided, so the more concrete it is the more we can do with it!

In my experience not a single idea so far has been swept under the rug. We've taken the time to look at all the feedback that is here and see how well it works with the vision of Frontlines in general or the faction in particular.

Sometimes this means that we decide not to change something as it interferes with the vision. There have been occasions where feedback misinterprets how a system works or is relevant to a mod that we can't adjust.

Meanwhile the majority of the feedback here is put on our tracker to be implemented on a short or long term basis depending on how much effort it is. Things for a current faction are generally implemented quite fast while changes to systems take more time.

Since we only have one part time developer on this it means new features or changes to current will take time regardless.

I really appreciate all the stuff you guys are giving and hope everyone understands the method to our madness a little better. :)

Earlier this morning Royal marines exfiltrated embassy personnel out of Georgetown.

With the fall of dusk, the Special Air Service will be inserting into the jungle to begin setting up camps and safe areas around Tanoa in preparation for their recon mission ahead of the coalition invasion. During this first part of the operation, we will be focussing on bivouacs on the main island.

Your mission will be to spread out in your individual teams and secure marked bivouacs.  will be providing initial insert and supply drops of vehicles and resupplies.

CSAT and the HIMF should be unaware of our activity and can be treated as hostile as of this operation. We are at this point trespassing on the Horizon Islands. Furthermore, some the designated areas are known Syndikat hide-outs. Expect each target to be occupied.

  10. I am still looking for two people that want to help us with noting down the start(STC) and arrival(ATC) times for teams.  All you'd have to do is note down the time that the vehicle leaves the start, or arrives at the finish depending on which of the two you'd want to help out with! :)

Convenient fill in sheet will be provided.

  12. Now that I'm here anyway. Here's a design change I've been thinking of for Civpoprating. Rather than having a global civpop rating it may be more interesting to have a sector based civpop rating.

    The Change

These sectors could be centered in cities and cover a radius of several kilometers around them. Any objective within this sector would be influenced by the rating and can influence it. The major change we will see is that regions will develop in which we will be viewed more favourably than other regions meaning that while guerilla's in one sector might be our ally, in others we may encounter them as opposition or find mines and IED's.

This change will also influence the impact that positive or negative change will have on the civpop meaning that it may be more work to increase it but will be less affected if it drastically drops due to destroyed buildings.  These changes will now be limited to their sector. Performing a UXO clean-up inside Sector Paros will mean a change in Paros' Civpop rating. Similarly blowing up a building within sector Galati will only change sector Galati's rating.

It is still possible to maintain a global rating based on the sector ratings but this would then no longer be the deciding factor in how the population feels about the players. Instead this would happen locally per sector

    User Interface

As for how to indicate this change a UI display similar to Vindicta's Interface could be a strong basis. Alternatively you can look at sector games like Foxholes or Planetside 2 with colour/line indicated sectors with a statistic number at the center or near the main city of said sector.

    Optional features

    Sectors Influencing Sectors

An optional addition to this system could be that sectors influence each other so that a positive or negative civpop rating in a sector has a similar impact on the civpop rating in an adjacent sector. Positive ratings in sector kavala will give an +X% base rating to Sector Sector Zaros, while a negative rating in Pyrgos means a -X% rating to any adjacent sectors. This is very much a feature though that is optional and should only be implemented when the base system is there.

    Rewards for Positive civpop ratings

Another optional feature is the availability of rewards for high civpop in a sector. In liberation taking certain objectives rewards the player with unlocking a vehicle they can then purchase. I think it would be far more interesting if instead, a high civpop rating means that these sectors give things to the players. Sector Kavala may give a free FOB crate while Sector Oreokastro gives a large supply of resources. Free vehicles or special weapons are an interesting addition as well. What could even be possible is that a sector offers guerillas to help fight alongside the players. rather than gorillas appearing at random when a player attacks an objective they can request a group of guerrillas to attack an object through an interface. They may for example order the guerillas to attack Agios Dyonisios ahead of the players' assault.

    Conclusion

Overall this change will make the civpop more than a flat stat that we keep up through a few quick actions and prevent a global spiral due to one ruined area. Furthermore it helps set Frontlines apart from Liberation, making it a more unique experience overall.
