A plea: Other Games Sub Channels

The picture below is exactly what we were trying to avoid. I'm pleading with you before I revert the change, interact with the community, don't sit in a channel on your own!!! sit in the lobby and actually socialise. If this does not change soon I will reverse the changes.

To quote myself:

... perhaps it would be nice if those in small cliques actually socialised with the rest of the community.

I'll merge the thread with the main thread on this issue after some time has passed ;)

Firstly note that most the people in the picture ARE actually playing separate other games, waiting for there friends to wake up and join them.

I'm guessing this picture from this morning which is when only they were awake. After mid-day or so most of the groups are online and most those channels become filled with 3-7 people all playing those separate games.

What's the big issue with people playing with there own group of friends and on there own separate game? Channels just become a cluster when you have 5 groups trying to play separate games.

Not to offend anyone but we also have a handful of users who i'd class as being hyperactive and speak far to much sea wrap.

Forcing people to all be in one/two/three channels will only lead to disgruntled users and probably even less users on teamspeak.

Because who at the end of the day wants to get on ts to play a game that isn't arma but have to listen to 10 other people talk at the same time. It would be terrible communication.

One question mainly is WHY is this a big issue, no ones doing any damage, it's not harming anyone, so why remove a perfectly good system?

I made my own channel for peace and quiet. This morning I've been hungover pretty bad, so I haven't wanted to talk to unknowns who might have their microphone gain at 100% or some such.

Also, that screenshot is from around 10am, not too many people were on then and I'm not just going to barge into someone elses game channel to talk when I'm struggling to hold my breakfast down.

Having your own channel if you play a game on your own or with a couple guys, either as COOP or something similar, I support them creating a channel and maybe even locking it.

But I agree people creating social channels and then locking them or just creating one to sit in it by him/herself is not what staff wants and did not meant by introducing this "feature".

Currently ^^

You can see I highlighted the part after the War Thunder channel, because that is an important reason why there are so many channels.

People like to play a game, so they make a channel for that game so other people know what they are playing, and maybe join in. Plus you are not talking through each other talking about other games.

Agreeing with Sheep, josh and sozio here, because I do exactly what sheep is talking about, half the time I only go on a game when there's already people playing it. Personally I don't think that the original screen grab shows people having individual groups excluding others, however if that became the situation  then I would 100% agree with raz's stand. I honestly think removing the create a channel feature would be a big mistake.

noted, but why not join in with the rest of the community, this does not answer the point of this post.

It's this mentality that needs to change, please talk to each other. To use an example of this post that josh wouldn't normally mix with pancake in a general chit chat. both of you are fine chaps with great interpersonal personalities but you don't mix. This creates a barrier, an "us and them" situation. we're all part of one community, there should be no "us and them". I understand you can't force people together and the example is just two great members of our community and it's not of course just pancake and josh, it's a common theme. I understand sometimes you want quiet time with friends, but please, i'm pleading, take a moment to mix with the others when you can stand to.

Surely everyone must agree on that?!

We do, and we socialise every now and then but most the time we're gamers here to game.
