    Hi Tommy_
    Good that you enjoy playing on AhoyWorld. Servers are up and running for 1 player, 15 or 60 (though it has been a good while for the latter) across a few game modes. There may be some avenues for promotion that staff could check out. Player who are here to play and enjoy games, players and some good (actually mostly bad) jokes at times are the best promotion of what AhoyWorld can offer. Do have any thing specific in mind to promote us? What/Where were you searching that led you here?

    I wasn't aware of the AhoyWorld lore. I had a brief read and I'm none-the-wiser.
     
    Does anyone track metrics like unique players joined? Amount of new players in x time period? Average player counts? Busiest periods?
     
    The downside is that this server has no exposure on YouTube, any other forums, the player count remains low so unlikely to show in any directories online. What is the funnel for a new player to actually 1. Find the server 2. Join it and 3. Stay? Say a player even manages to find the server, they're only going to stay if it's fun and busy and at the moment Ahoy is pretty dry so even if they join, it's unlikely they will stay.
     
    I tried a different server just to look at the competition of a similar mode to what Ahoy runs and it's so much more fun and organised. It has its problems too but the server remains packed 24/7 so clearly there is demand for such a gamemode yet this server only remains partially full 20-30 at most during sales and weekends where it should be packed. I know this because I always check the battlemetrics page on whether I should join.
     
    I'm referring specifically to Ahoy EU1 I&A here not any other external events. I think Ahoy needs to take some pointers from the competition. One example being the ability to lift tanks and other vehicles so that people who want to use vehicles don't have to spend 8 hours driving to the AO. If I have an hour or two to play I don't want to spend 1 hour driving the tank to be shot in 1 minute.
     
    There's thousands of improvements like these to be made.

    The dark ritual is complete! I have risen once again to reap the award submissions for this year! The end of 2023 is fast approaching and so it is time to celebrate all the highlights of the past few months! Normally we first vote for what awards can be voted on. I was so happy with last year's awards that I decided to go for the same list this time around.

    Situation
    We find ourselves somewhere in the late 1800's as the British Empire.
    The empire stumbled across an unmapped region and thus sent a mapping party to document it, they went missing.... A rescue party was swiftly dispatched.
     
    As the rescue party made landfall they spotted a savage fishing just of one of the wrecks and promptly captured it for use as a guide of these unknown lands, it appears to also know some information about our missing people.

    Okay, that little hiatus didn't last. Darn brain weasels.
    Have added AOs to the West German side of the boarder. Have moved main base to West Germany so we don't start off on the wrong side of the barriers, etc. Have added "splash", but this will require some additional work later on. It'll do for now. Main AO completion count reset. On my "to do" list.
    GMPACT.sqf needs a review. I can't see why it would be spawning less than a full squad per unit listed. Arsenal appears to be unable to see the AT and AA launchers. All of which should be accessible to LAT and HAT troops. HAT troops should also have access to the ATGM deployable static/backpack. Main base needs expanding slightly, and proper decoration. Assets at the moment are fairly minimal. Secondary FOBs need to be added and queued up. InA_GM.gm_weferlingen_summer.pbo

    Situation:
    After blowing the Bonchaung Station railway bridge on March 06 and crossing the Irrawaddy three days later, 5 Column has been operating as the furthest East brtish troops for around a week. Infested with lice, short on food, and on incredibly low water rations, it is vital for the column to find a water source capable of watering all the men and mules in order to prepare for the march alongside no 3 column towards their next target, the Gokteik Gorge viaduct. Reports of evidence of recent japanese movement have also come in from clearance patrols scouting the area around the column bivouac. A request has come from Wingate to assault these discovered Japanese positions, clearing the area before the meeting with 3 cloumn.
     
    It is proposed that the column moves to clear the Japanese positions at Brigade Hill and Boridi Village, before advancing on Brown river and securing the spring and area around Boridi Crossing for 3 and 5 columns to water all men and mules.

    November 24th 1983
    The night air coiled around the open door as the heaters inside warmed the now deserted vehicle bay. Heating elements cast long shadows against the ammunition crates and spare parts.  A solitary figure walked past the shadows of the big cats laying dormant outside, their purring noises reserved only for when they hunted.
     
    99 luftballons whistled into the still night air, the Oberleutnant in the doorway finishing the bars.  Taking one last drag of the cigarette he dropped the butt to the floor and crushed it underfoot.  The new figure walked over, dulled Oberfeldwebel ranks barely catching the distant orange glow.  The two nodded in acknowledgement and walked into the hangar to join the group of figures huddled over a hastily arranged table, the officer pausing only to squat and pick up the discarded butt and casually toss it into the make shift garbage bin seemingly out of reflex and absent mindedly.
     
    Once settled around the group he looked around at the assembled staff.
     
    “Gentlemen, welcome to world war three, except this time we didn’t start it.”  The opening garnering a few smiles from the assembled NCOs.
     
    “Command is currently in a leadership contest with the Americans over who has operational authority in the region.  They want Bundeswehr authority as well it’s our territory and mostly our troops.  The Americans want overall command because… well…” he paused a second time to pull a new cigarette from the scratched metal case emerging from the inner breast pocket of his parka “they’re Americans.”
     
    Where the first quip failed to garner a response the second drew smirks of approval.  The remains of 606 Panzergrenadier Battalion had had enough of the American logistics officers frantically trying to load all of their gear onto planes whilst telling Bundeswehr personnel how to do their jobs efficiently.
     
    “Command issued a general order, leaving battalion commanders on the ground to treat the Americans with respect and courtesy but to act at their discretion in defence of the national territory until local command structures were finalised.”  He paused checking for any fuel cannisters, out of more habit than any caution. Flicking open the zippo lighter he’d traded a collection of Soviet patches for, he held the flame to the cigarette and took a long drag.
     
    “That means we can’t take advantage of the situation,” he pointed to the map with a broken dipstick.  The hastily drawn line reflecting current NATO lines around the airfield.  The metal rod touching the town of Masendorf.
     
    “The mechanised Regiment that was guarding our flank has taken a pounding and is understrength, the Russian armoured force that we defeated earlier this week is moving to reinforce their position but is being hampered by Luftwaffe sorties,” he nodded to the Luftwaffe pilots around the table, “thank you.”
     
    “There is a supply depot in that town, protected by what remains of that mechanised regiment.  As the battalion still technically exists on paper, and as the remaining ranking officer, I believe it to be in my discretion to act in defence of national territory.  I plan to raid this and cause as much confusion as possible in the Soviet lines.  Just like we did when this all started.
     
    We move fast hit them hard and withdraw back to the airfield under air and artillery cover.  We get in and out before they ever know it was just a raid and if we see any targets of opportunity, we deal with them too, that’s artillery pieces, communication towers, AA positions.”
     
    The Oberleutnant paused.  Taking another drag on the cigarette he smiled and looked over the staff eyeing the map.  Little plastic soldiers and vehicles dotted the map representing Soviet positions.
     
    “Things are a bit different now, we don’t have surprise, and that strike is well within the response of panzer forces stationed here,” the senior Feldwebel motioned to the small grey tanks on the map.  He was due to retire after the Able Archer exercise, now his haggard face was less due to age and the monotony of peacetime service, and more due to the constant contact they’d endured for the past month.  Right now, like many of the others, he was running on a mixture of black coffee, nicotine and hatred.
     
    “Well,” the Oberleutnant looked past the group of assembled soldiers and into the cold dark outside.  Taking another drag on his cigarette the embers lit the wry smile on his face “we do have a reputation for armoured and combined arms warfare to maintain.  I believe the phrase is putting the leopards in amongst the pigeons…”

    First half of the drive north was completed, this weeks will be to finish the drive to secure the perimeter of the airfield.

    Bonus hint... if the airfield is secure you can get heavy lift aircraft in and out...

    You also have access to a flak panzer having secured it last time.

    NATO forces are engaged in a general offensive North of Pieperhofen.
     
    Area of NATO control is marked on map in blue.
     
    Phase 2 operations are tasked with clearing the surrounding towns of the airfield including Ripdorf (north), Tatern (East), Klien Lidern (East), and Gross Lidern  (East South East). The town of Halligdorf (South) and industrial complex (East) will also need to be secured during phase 1 operations.  This will not be completed in one night’s op.
     
    US Airforce are providing RTOs to facilitate closer air to ground co-operation.
     
     
    Mission:
    Opposition forces: 1 Armoured East German mechanised battalion in the region, with three companies split over the aforementioned towns. 
     
    The Soviet Airforce is expected to be operating in area.
     
    Task force Wolfe is the only Friendly forces in the area.
     
    Cobra Squadron (F-4 Phantoms USAF) has been tasked to provide assistance in air superiority over Roche.  This is called in at Commander’s Discretion
     
    Civilians are expected to have either evacuated or taking shelter in place.

    These assets are to last the entire campaign, if you lose them they will not be returned.  Once a month a single vehicle will be delivered from Bundeswehr stockpiles.
     
     
    Execution:
    Task Force Wolfe is to secure the area around the Airfield to the North, namely the towns of Woltersburg, Ripdorf and the industrial complex.  Doing this will open an air corridor for replenishment between battles.
     
    Any other targets of opportunity are to be dealt with at operational commander’s discretion.
     
    CAS will be provided by Vortex and at the operational commander’s discretion.  USAF
     
    HE, cluster and Napalm is not to be used in urban areas.

    Situation:
    Germans arrived on Sark on the 30th July 1940, and in the couple of years since have been slowly progressing their occupation. In general the Germans have been friendly, but with increasing restrictions on the locals, laying of mines, and the deportations of non native Men early last month, a small maquis group has formed and got in contact with British intelligence.
     
    On the 1st October 1942, Y service stations across the south coast intercepted communications from German forces on Sark. These revealed that the German Fighter Ace Johann Aistleitner had crashed on the island, and is being hosted by the island's Oberstleutnant until the begining of the next week, when he woud be taken to Guernsey and on to occupied france via the ferry.
     
    Learning of this opportunity the Special Operations Executive re-activated older plans for a small scale raid on the island, hastily updated to include cooperation with the local Partisans. Your maps have been updated with inteligence from the local Maquis group about german positions, accurate as of 24 hours ago.
     
    It is now early evening on Saturday the 3rd, Phase 1 has been enacted, with a raiding party from 62 Commando deployed to the south of the island from an offshore Motor torpedo boat. The local resistance forces have gathered in a farmhouse, waiting to step off at 1800, H-Hour.

    The Soviet Airforce is expected to be operating in area.

    The Final Stand
     
    Situation
    The year is 1986, the cold war has reached its boiling point. A combination of heavy western sanctions and a collapsing economy has forced the Soviet leaders to recoup one last time. Instead of a proxy war, the warmongering east pushed its armored brigades straight through the western front, announcing another war in the european theater.
     
    NATO was quick on their feet, but although losing a lot of land to the south and in the north, they managed to pierce a hole straight through the center, using Germany as their access point. One country in particular was hit by the war. Czechoslovakia, being a neighbouring country to Germany, was the first to see a full scale invasion by both eastern pact and NATO forces. 
     
    On the frontlines, crews from the 2nd Armoured Brigade saw first action as their M60s and M1A2s rolled straight into the heavily forrested and observed terrorities. After much relentless fighting on the frontlines, a squadron of tanks had been all but wiped as only a single crew had survived a 2 hour engagement. Battle damaged, alone and surrounded they await their faith.
     
    Aware of this, 5th Special Forces Group iniated a daring operation to evacuate the lonesome crew, sending no army but only a couple of dozens men with no armor.
