My name is chibill (At lest that's my username in all most everything.)
 
I play , mod and dig into Minecraft. My current projects are DDS (Distributed Deobfuscation System) , Additional Machines (My main Mod). I enjoy programming and challenges that involve programming ( DDS was one of them.)
 
DDS is my own take on Deobfuscating Minecraft. My goal with it is to get mappings before MCP and others. Also I enjoy playing vanilla and Modded Minecraft!

So a few times in the past I can hold my hands up and say i've made some development (dev) mistakes and gameplay faux pars. Here's a few: 
 
Oh i'd like anybody that has ever worked on anything and done something daft to own up, we all do it!
 
 
1. I put in automatic doors in ARMA3 that when called upon to open... forced the server to find every default object on the map to be found... doing this multiple times would cause huge desync

 
2. In the early days of I&A (Alpha phase) we purposefully put helicopter tail rotors underneath hangers as a noob filter
 

 
3. Me and a few other pilots enjoy playing passenger bowling to anybody that has stood in front of the line at base on I&A when we're coming in to land, the highest score was around 5 kia
 

 
4. While trying to deal with a teamkiller firing at a helicopter at base, i accidentally threw a lightning bolt at the full helicopter blowing it and the people inside to tiny pieces
 
5. We looked into developing a way to exploit ragdol physics to simulate being tased by an admin
 
6. in beta we wanted to put signs on boards at base for effect, we had to devote a couple of hours to figure out how to stick a user texture to a blank board (There was no setTexture for that object), we also had to split the texture up into two halves. the pictures were rather large in filesize!
 

 
7. I made a game night mission featuring a NATO faction rescuing an AAF faction, when the NATO bird got close, it would play "Nowhere to run" at a level so loud we couldn't communicate via voice, it went on for the full duration of the song for about 3 occasions...
 
8. I made a game night mission featuring a listening outpost playing radio traffic (Not as loud as number 7 don't worry), the players set up around the building ready to breach (I guess about 8 of them), there were 3 enemy AI's inside. A volley of grenades through windows and troops breaching the door before said grenades went off AND crossfire from those players that remained alive resulted in massive casualties only 2 came out alive.
 
 

 
9. In that same mission as #8 after a restart, they knocked out the shack. there were 3 or 4 CSAT players just to stir it up and HOAX. managed to find a mortar and took out ALL of the NATO players (Around 20) over the course of 10-15 minutes... the mission was scrapped
 
10. I once had a bing-bong airport style announcement bell ring in the terminal every time a helo arrived at base, it was removed to save file size

This is mostly for the minecrafters but anyone else as well
As of saturday I will be on a well deserved 2 week holiday from work and not be in the country or have any access to a computer or device for that time.
Meaning that there will be no updates or fixes to any of the minecraft servers unless Bufu feels he wants to do it ^^ 
 
I know some people are gonna miss me (tsori ;P) but don't cry too much xD
 
 
But yeah, seriously, anything that you need help with can either be sorted by Bufu, Kam or I'm sure on of the other core staff will be willing to help.
 
 
Please don't break the server while i'm gone guys, i've got some rather nice structures I want to keep xD

Without his hard work the past week or more, we would not have the arma servers back up and running yet. So thank you for that bro!
 
It doesn't just stop there though. He not only got our server reinstalled and ARMA servers online, but ALL the behind the scene stuff that you guys will never see or know is going on with our server, he has done such a superb job on everything he has done. I wish that I didnt have to work the past 4 days so that I could have helped.
 
So again, thank you very much bro, your hard work is not unappreciated. I hope your wife isn't pissed at you for all the time you spent getting us back up and running.
 
Also thanks to everyone else who has helped get things back in order, or are in the process of getting back up and running, I.e. Proxima and the MC servers, and anyone else who I'm not sure is helping because I am at work 12 hours every day.

Ahoyworld Vanilla Minecraft and Ahoyworld Modded Minecraft have returned.

The minecraft server's have been brought back and are better than ever. Both the Vanilla and the Modded server have had massive overhauls and are now updated and working to great capacity. Read more to find out how to join.

Vanilla

Vanilla is back as before. Includes all the original plugins from the beginning that let you claim land and stop griefing, and the ability to move between worlds. The worlds included at the moment are Survival, Hubworld and Creative but more may be brought in in the future.

There are no special requirements for this server. It is using the latest recommended version and will be updated as new versions are introduced.

 

Modded

The modpack we are using is called the "Yogscast complete" and contains many many mods to give a long playing experience. 

There are lots of things to do for both new and adept Minecraft players.

 

To get the modpack just use the following instructions:

 

1. Visit http://www.atlauncher.com/downloads/ and download the relevant download for your OS.

 

2. Once this has installed, open it and you will see the launcher. From here choose "Packs"



 

3. In the "Yogscast complete pack" tab, choose "New instance"



 

4.Name the instance whatever you like then click install (Current Version: 2.9.2.4-RR-YOGS)



 

5.Tick the boxes next to all the mods not crossed out in this picture then click install:



 

 

6.Once it has finished installing, navigate to the "instances" panel and click play.



 

Please note that you must be whitelisted to join the modded server. To be considered for the whitelist, please complete the form found here

Please be patient with Minecraft applications as the Admins have lives too and may take some time to check over your application.

A short presentation. im Coldsex, and im playing minecraft since few years now, with some friends. Im really enjoying sandbox, and minecraft is for me one of the most interesting, specially with mod packs. (YCP is really, really cool).
 
Im looking for a minecraft server in Europe, with a small comunity, and the "Ahoy world" looks very nice !

Hello folks!
 
Due to some unexpected issues with our ArmA3 servers we have been forced to take them offline for some unexpected maintenance.
We will be working our hardest to get them back up, running smoothly as soon as we can.
 
 
UPDATE:
 
The server maintenance is scheduled for this Saturday.
 
- Teamspeak: A backup Teamspeak will be running on ts.ahoyworld.co.uk, make sure you have this mentioned in your favorites and do NOT connect to our old IP-address directly, or you will not be able to connect during the outage.
 
- Minecraft: Will also be down during the maintanance. A snapshot will be taken on Friday, all world changes made  AFTER Friday afternoon will be lost !!
 
- Arma3: Will probably be back online late in the afternoon, ready for prime-time gaming (fingers crossed)
 
Staff will be online and available during the day\evening\night during the re-install and re-config of the servers. We will keep this thread updated below with the latest status changes. So keep an eye on the red-text below.
 
Once we have everything working again, we will probably have to restart the server several times in order to make configuration changes. Please bear with us during that time.
 
Also once we open the servers back up for the public, we would appreciate everyone to report the problems you might be having, so we can sort everything out as quick as possible.

In an effort to clean up TeamSpeak and fix our permissions system, we feel people should understand how your TeamSpeak identity works and what you should do if you access our TeamSpeak from multiple devices. (ex. another computer or a mobile device.)
 

 
Your TeamSpeak Identity stores all your permissions across all of the TeamSpeak servers you visit. If you are a member of any of our server groups like AW Member, Ahoy +, Ahoy Admin, or a channel group like a music streamer, we do request that you backup your identity. If you use more than one device to access the AhoyWorld Teamspeak, you MUST import your identity to your other computers/devices. Doing this keeps the client list on our server clean and organised.
 
To export your TeamSpeak Identity, follow these steps:
 
1. Click Settings at the top of your TeamSpeak
2. Click Identities
3. Click Export
4. You will be prompted with a security message (click yes)
5. The next window will require you to name the .ini file. Name it and save it in a location you can remember.
 
To import your TeamSpeak Identity, follow these steps:

If you're accessing AhoyWorld's TeamSpeak from different device, this is a requirement if you want to keep your permissions.
