Josh
Hello folks! Due to some unexpected issues with our ArmA3 servers we have been forced to take them offline for some unexpected maintenance. We will be working our hardest to get them back up, running smoothly as soon as we can. UPDATE: The server maintenance is scheduled for this Saturday. - Teamspeak: A backup Teamspeak will be running on ts.ahoyworld.co.uk, make sure you have this mentioned in your favorites and do NOT connect to our old IP-address directly, or you will not be able to connect during the outage. - Minecraft: Will also be down during the maintanance. A snapshot will be taken on Friday, all world changes made AFTER Friday afternoon will be lost !! - Arma3: Will probably be back online late in the afternoon, ready for prime-time gaming (fingers crossed) Staff will be online and available during the day\evening\night during the re-install and re-config of the servers. We will keep this thread updated below with the latest status changes. So keep an eye on the red-text below. Once we have everything working again, we will probably have to restart the server several times in order to make configuration changes. Please bear with us during that time. Also once we open the servers back up for the public, we would appreciate everyone to report the problems you might be having, so we can sort everything out as quick as possible. Many thanks, AhoyWorld Administration. David
Servers still currently down. We've tried everything we can to get them back online, unfortunately it looks like we need to do a complete reinstall with our box, this means that we'll have a teamspeak disruption unfortunately. We'll do our best to get everything back up and running smoothly in good time. Sorry about the delay Josh

Amentes
So have you had any indication as to the cause of the problem? And as an aside, if we're to look on the bright side, at least your servers weren't targeted during the recent ArmA-wide hackfest on all the renowned servers Looking forward to everything working again. Job well done fellas
kamaradski
Last minute update: Teamspeak --> Will remain reachable via ts.ahoyworld.co.uk this will be routed to our backup server. Do NOT connect to our IP-address directly. This switch will happen tomorrow evening, and will be switched back as soon as the server is up and running again on Saturday. Minecraft --> Will go offline tomorrow morning 8am CET. At this point we will make a backup of the world so no changes are lost. Minecraft will be back online Saturday evening again. Approx maintenance schedule: 10/07/2014@19:30 CET - Re-route ts.ahoyworld.co.uk to the backup teamspeak 10/07/2014@20:00 CET - Mincecraft offline, and final backup of the world-data 10/07/2014@22:00 CET - Server offline, removal of operating system, re-partitioning hard-drive 11/07/2014@13:00 CET - Server OS re-installation 11/07/2014@19:00 CET - Updating OS & system image 12/07/2014@10:00 CET - Installing Teamspeak & re-configure to our old setup 12/07/2014@11:00 CET - Installing Arma servers, admin-tools, system specific configs, maintenance and startup scripts, ban-sync, mission-sync, BIkey-sync 12/07/2014@13:00 CET - Installing MC, MCMA, FTB and restoring the old world. 12/07/2014@15:00 CET - Teamspeak back online 12/07/2014@16:00 CET - EU1 & EU2 Arma servers back online 12/07/2014@17:00 CET - MC & MC FTB back online 12/07/2014@18:00 CET - Rest of the evening reserved for system tinkering and fine-tuning (reboots might still happen without warning) 12/07/2014@22:00 CET - End of maintance and systems should be stable again Terms&Conditions: These times are a VERY rough indication, we might be ready sooner or later than advertised, and even after end of maintenance ther might still be some small hiccups in how stuff works. We do however have specialized IT people in our team so we hope all will go smoothly and ahead of time Fingers crossed. razgriz33

Tsori
Just wondering, since its on the thread above, is FTB a mistype? as i thought the FTB was now Yogs. Making sure we are getting the right pack back xD
kamaradski
I do not know man, as i have nothing to do with MC normally (never even logged into the game EVER) i do not keep track of what is what. I just happen to know we use to have 2 servers 1xVanilla and 1xFeedTheBeast. If the mod was renamed, or changed, i do not know. In any case you will be getting back exactly what you left behind, as apart from installing MCMA, it is all just a copy-paste job (or so they say)
Tsori
Ah that's cool then if it's just being pasted back in. Didn't want all the work going into reinstalling to find the wrong one has been put back on, the conflicting configurations alone would utterly destroy the current world map. Should be fine if your using a backup however.
Dingo
Hey guys For those having issues seeing the servers / any servers in Arma the following may help load them quicker in the browser To do this follow these steps: 1. Open start menu, filter for "firewall", look for "windows firewall with advanced security" and open it. 2. Once open find "Inbound Rules" and click on it. It will now show a list of inbound connection rules like arma3.exe, file discovery, printer/file sharing, core networking etc. 3. On the top right hand side of the program will be a button "Add new rule" click this button and a setup wizard will pop up. 4. Using the wizard set the rule as a "Program Rule", hit next, Select "This program path", find arma3server.exe found in the main arma 3 directory and hit next again. (mine is "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Arma 3" but yours may be different.) 5. Set the next option to "Allow this connection" and hit next. In the next section keep all the boxes checked EG "Public", "Private" and "Domain" then hit next. You can also set this to just the network your using but this isn't required. 6. Set the name of the rule to arma 3 server or what ever you like really then hit Finish. 7. Now right click the created rule open the advanced tab and in Edge Traversal section select Allow Edge Trasversal from the dropdown, click Apply and Ok All Arma servers will now load up instantly in the browser Star the AhoyWorld servers as a favourite and this will make finding and filtering quicker in future laforte
PrettyDancer
Hey guys. So is the MC modded server back up ?
kamaradski
Maintenance almost concluded. i will call it a day. Most servers back online, only the FTP MC will have to wait till tomorrow. Also the last little tinkering etc... will happen somewhere during the week in the evenings. It might be that the server will have to do one more reboot somewhere during the week. kama-out, enjoy the new very FAST servers

Skullywag
not putting a downer on anything i hope, but was there supposed to be some gain to the user with this upgrade, Arma still runs sub par (exactly the same for me, i see no difference). Dingo
There's always one ^^ kidding, although you should see some improvement I know I have gone form 15 / 20fps to high 20's to 30's on the server But it was more a server side improvement / clean out, with the last patch something broke serverside and didn't resolve itself so Core staff and have put alot of their own time especially Kamaradski with major prep & reinstalling sessions last week and last 2 days re-configing things cheers Kam we've managed to treat the problem like applying vagiclean and rid the cheesy buildup that had accumilated over the past while the Server load is running @ 35 - 40fps 0 - 15 players and a solid 20fps from 20 player to full pop 45 players (it has only ever reached 5fps maybe 10fps in the past with any amount of players) so huge improvement, We're looking at more improvements by trimming the fat from the mission / rewirte of code etc.. also Headless client which if we get working with the mission will move AI handling to a separate serve which should increase client server performance even more and make the AI & missions more fun to deal with, keep an eye on the forums for updates some fun interesting times ahead kamaradski
kamaradski
@Tsori: Sorry man, for MC i was depending on our in-house specialists: Proxi and Kyrie, i i saw they sorted that out later that evening ahead in schedule
