  1. Holy f*ck this guy is edgy. "I feel that they should just give up on this server and give it to someone else, more mature and more nice. SOmeone who is not ganging up on one person, like a ban appeal i saw. Like the whole staff was ganging up on him, probably lying their asses off in that post just to make people think that they are good." Hmmm, sure I think they should give away a group that owns one of the most popular Arma 3 servers...
  2. My thoughts: lock severs? - No need, I quite like having people JIP, the more the merrier and with the respawn system we seem to use, it works out fine. re-spawns? - The whole respawn in waves idea is great as it is, no need to change. first person vs third person? - Personally I vote for first person, I like staying immersive, it tests my vehicle and pilot abilities and keeps me up to date on my tactics and maneuvers and really, Arma is a simulator and I like playing it as such. arsenal? - I would be all for Arsenal, sadly you cant really tell people what they should be using and stuff because they seem to ignore it but tbh, my loadouts that I make are 10x more realistic then the standard ones we have so I prefer having it. Sign ups - Yeah, people need to let you know if they can not make it other wise it causes confusions and leads to people waiting for nothing. Unless something extremely urgent serious like happened, you shouldn't have to let them know in advance, and the whole extreme urgent serious shiz is pretty rare. Overall - Overall, you are great at hosting these Gauntlet gamenights and I have fun whatever the turn out, so carry on doing what yo be doing... yo?...
  3. Would probably be good for PVP gamenights which I believe we planned for Wednesday evenings.
  4. Most liked/played: Arma 3 IL-2 Cliffs of Dover Rising Storm/Red Orchestra 2 PayDay 2 MGSV Disliked: WarZ *Got it as a laugh and came out with a migraine* APB Reloaded *Had potential, was a complete Pay to Play* Rust *Was fun at first then died off* Wishlist: Fallout 4 From The Depths IL-2 Battle of Stalingrad Flight Sim X
  5. Thanks Oops on Brandenberg... ;p A quick note to add everyone! Although the plan looks like we would be fighting in that entire region of Chernarus, it will actually be pushed down to a very small part of the fighting, or will there actually be a secret mission behind enemy lines? ;p The mission is a work in progress, the hardest part is just building the bases, Zues does everything else. The gamenight will probably consist of 15/20 vs 15/20 with AI filling in any areas and will require at least 2 Zues guys for each team to make things interesting! Another quick note, remember, it is a campaign, the side that wins decides where the nation will move next!
  6. Hello there, So me and Johnson were thinking how cool it would be for a collection of PVP gamenights, would be both fun and easy to set up as I have already thought about these ideas for months but never been able to show them. Basically, I'm hoping to host gamenights where they would be PVP campaigns or sometimes just scenarios. So the PVP gamenights would act like campaigns, basically having a back story and each battle having a motive which will add to the fun and diversity of the missions. It can start off in any way, whether it be: Invasion, ambush or half way in a war. The possibilities are endless! Here's a quick campaign idea I thought about a while back. Here's the idea: After the Russian Federation attacked American Forces stationed in Brandenburg, the Americans have retaliated and pushed the Russian forces deep into the Czech Republic. Russian forces have multiplied there forces and the fight is now at a stand still in Chernarus. Fighting at the front line is fierce and Americans are now suffering staggering losses at the might of the strengthened Russian front. The American forces must think of a plan fast before they lose the Czech Republic, get pushed back into Germany and risk a full on Russian invasion. Here's the situation according to the map: I will explain how the mission works and what exactly is going on in this campaign so long as the idea is allowed. I will also figure out times to when these gamenights happen. Here's some artwork I quickly made: May not sound as good as I hoped but it will be serious fun if put into play, I guess what I really need is some Michael Bay base drops. If you like the idea, drop me a ahoy coin or leave a comment, also feel free to post any suggestions! Quick note to clear some things up: No, this will not involve like 60 vs 60, we simply do not have the players so we wont be fighting everywhere on the map, it will be scaled down to a small region to fit what I expect will be 15/20 vs 15/20.
  7. Would love to Command an Armored Unit provided it is a T-72/80 or BMD-4, BMP if REALLY necessary but seeing as most EU3 players don't understand what Mechanized Warfare is I would much prefer a BMD or MBT if needed. Also I could go Pilot but only if there is no one else available.
  8. So Dslyecxi has made another community guide, this time on easily one of my favourite subjects in battle; Defense. Definitely worth a watch, especially if you play on EU3 as I see a lot of these tactics not being used when they are viable. "Make it too tough for the enemy to get in and you can't get out"
  9. I believe there is 4 difficulty's but correct me if i'm wrong. I believe it goes: Recruit - Easy difficulty with switchable views. Regular - Easy/Medium difficulty with first person only. Veteran - Medium/hard difficulty with switchable views. (What we usually played on I believe) Elite - Medium/hard difficulty with first person only. Basically you get two types of the same difficulty but with the views being either restricted or free.
  10. Well the picture that Josh and Christiansen is clearly the HMS Valiant which saw service in both World Wars. There was talk of this ship in Invasion 1944 mod for Arma 3 but that mod was sadly abandoned. Could it be a trick, could it actually be HMS Proteus? Oh nooo, if it is... God save the queen.
  11. To be honest, I don't really care what happens. I would of thought it would be common f*cking sense to not carry 20+ mags and not carry a crap ton of medical supplies. I've said it before and i'll say it again, you should be carrying: 4 basic, 2 packing, 1 tourniquet, 1 morphine. THAT'S IT. You are ruining the medics job by being a medic on your own. In addition, assistant AT or MMG should NOT be carrying the specialists weapon such as another MAAW or 240. Assistant's just carry ammo and should use a basic rifle, something like a standard issue M4. I do agree with Pancake though, I'm all for being a bit creative, I understand if you wanna recreate an Isreali loadout or a British or something, I really don't care. BUT, the fact people are carrying a bunch of stupid sh*t that would not be carried with that loadout is silly. I honestly think at this point, forced loadouts might have to be brought in, but, if you're gunna do that then PLEASE actually look at some real military equipment because no offense but the standard already are pretty bad. Like Pancake said, a PLT Engineer shouldn't be carrying much magazines. Usually the magazines will vary between 6 - 12 (some roles may go lower) dependent on where they are stationed, a platoon engineer should be carrying 6+1. What ever happens happens. I usually play roles nowadays that don't require a special loadout, such as a Tanker or Pilot, where my gear is only there to protect me when I need to bail and run back to Command. In the end, I still have fun on the server so I really don't care that much. PS. The SEAL Team 52 special forces clear team carry suppressors in a LOUD environment lol luetin sh*t is pretty annoying too. Really? Suppressors in broad daylight with Bradley's and choppers flying around, pfft.
  12. I'm guessing Delta Team is some form of SEAL Team 52 Special force, oh christ. Sounds fun anyway! I love the Military Instability backstory, scenarios are way more fun if there is a story to it, especially if it is Zues orientated. Most likely will not be able to attend this one sadly, i'll try to let someone know an hour in advance.
  13. Yeah that tends to work for me if my TFAR breaks, it's a lot like turning it off and on again.
  14. Did you update TFAR and continue to the TFAR Installer? If so, that is the prime suspect to TFAR breaks. Make sure your TFAR definitely is ticked in the plugins for Teamspeak, if it doesn't show up and you get a dll error then it definitely is a TFAR installer problem.
  15. I found Ahoy because of it's EU1 server way back when. Must have been back in alpha or beta when it was on Stratis. Played on that and then started playing on EU3 either the day or the day after it came out.
  16. Need any help with anything i'm here to help. I'm pretty good with most things on EU3. There's also a ton of others that are free to help you out.
  17. Atlantis: Looks like an interesting Jungle based map, more for scenarios than a Guantlet style mission though, not enough to it to have multiple missions at once with ambient AI. However, a good scenario on it would be good, possibly something to do with SCUBA. Ukraine: To me, looks like a better Chernarus. I've seen a bunch of these woodland style village kind maps and most are really sweet but once again. Not for Guantlet. However, I did once play a 100+ player PVP session on a map VERY similar to Ukraine and consisted of Russian hit and run attacks on American frontline forces and was a blast. One big scenario on a map like that would prove extremely fun. Australia: Now we're talking! Australia definitely looks like a good large scale map for a Guantlet style mission. It's good to see plenty of desert as well as open grassed plains and cities too. However, up to BaconMOP and Christiansen on what maps they want but this map would definitely be something worth looking into. Hindu Kush: To me this looks a little too similar to Clafghan and I don't think it's worth investing time into, although it does look like a better version of Clafghan so it would be worth trading for. Mogadishu: This map looks interesting! It does take a lot from the movie and not the veterans themselves though so there is a few iffy bits but overall its a really nicely made map. Although Vortex and Talon are gunna cream themselves at the idea of F*ckin flying at 10m altitude ALL THE TIME just to try and get shot down and recreate 6-1 and 6-4. Both scenarios and Gauntlet style missions would be really neat on this map I reckon but like I said before, it's Bacon's and Christiansen's mission and it's up to them on what they feel comfortable on working on. Just my thoughts on each map, let's just see what others think.
  18. If this was something that would be actually brought in, Jochem and I can help build a mission for it, Jochem has already started I believe. Many good ideas for it being a World War 2 fanatic so should be interested. WARNING: The mod is a straight copy from Arma 2, so expect an arse ton of bugs, it's being worked on frequently but it will be a while before it is "Great" quality.
  19. Just keep it to 3 channels, leader channel then 2 fire team channels. It's simple, I don't understand why people are bitching. It's realistic and it only improves comm discipline. The riflemen, grenadiers, autoriflemans etc do not need to listen to the Squad lead issue orders to the medic and leaders every waypoint. Same frequency should really only be used in main command element and sometimes in vehicle such as Air and Armor when the time calls for it and it has been discussed between both commanders and officers.
  20. Last gamenight was very nicely done, very good usage of what we have available and I like the FOB shizzle. Will see you lot out there!
  21. I had heard the stories, I thought they were only children's tales...
